There are two currently.. Jellywiz and taste of beans. I can't comment for Jellywiz but TOB has the tw mms. I'm not sure if it's the tw or aosp brand wser as I don't use either

I love Jellywiz... it doesn't have all of the apps (i.e. Visual Voicemail, My Verizon & Verizon Login). I love it ... it is responsive and love the detachable video.

Has anyone found a JB ROM with Visual Voicemail (VVM)? I've tried several, and several add-ons for NFL, etc. But I've not found a working Visual Voicemail.
Thx.

Can't you just install the APK (from TitaniumBackup or something)? Or does it not work?
Just coming from a EVO 3D and I regularly would restore the Sprint VVM apk when loading ROM's with it removed. It would not work with AOSP though (if I remember correctly).

I have tried pushing it manually, installing it, using the flash able zip that neverendingsix posted in the LiquidSmooth thread that had the Verizon SSO key and a couple of other things in it and then installing and or pushing but nothing I have been able to do will get it working. I have seen the people say use Google voice, or whatever its called, but I really prefer the VZW visual voicemail app. So I guess I'm in the same boat with everyone else running a JB ROM...... we get no visual voicemail love

I have working verizon apps on jelly bean and asop. A little bit later tonight or tomorrow I will make a file for you guys to download as well as an old Verizon visual voicemail app that works with all jelly bean ROMs

Google Now for ICS?

Does anybody have the Google Now app that was ported to ICS? Also would it work with Liquid's ICS?

Yes, I have both. Yes, both will work on liquid ICS mecha.

I've installed it but only weather notifications work. Voice search is also a little glitchy. I would love it if I could edit sports teams to receive notifications, etc. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. The option to edit teams is greyed out in the Google Now options.

It's in Jesters ICS build. However it's NOT in liquid's ICS build, but can be easily added though.

Sorry about that. I have Jester's build on my phone... also tried to edit the double post but it won't let me as a noob
As for the sports teams, I'm having trouble too. It found the Baltimore Orioles for me and notified me of the score. The only trouble is that I'm not a baseball fan; instead, I wanted the Ravens tracked but there's only the option to uncheck the Orioles with no way to add the Ravens. I tried some pointed google searches and no go.
I chose not to use this while running the Bamf release due to poor battery life. Now that I'm running liquid I'll have to install it when I get home from work.

Either of the link posts I made or Jonah's post will direct you to the versions you need. You're looking for the ARMv7 version(version for ARMv7 devices, like ours).

well, i've experienced some issues with the voice aspects on liquid ICS, as have others. google now works perfectly on jester's desensed rom and the bamf leak. i'm hesitant to look further into my issues with google now on liquid ICS because i believe some of issues with voice are yet unresolved issues with the rom itself, as it works on two of our other ICS roms perfectly.
No way in hell am I going back to Sense...
I would rather live without google now then to live with sense anything *shudders*

[Q] Ready to take the plunge and start flashing

Rooted, unlocked, and backed up my imei and ready to flash. I'm backing up all my apps using Titanium Backup. What system apps do I back up if I want to restore call history, contacts, and text messages? Can these easily be restored after flashing the cm10 daily rom? Also, is it okay to backup systemui.apk using TiBackup? I have a custom one that was offered in the dev section.
And just another dumb question, but data on sdcard and ext_sdcard won't get wiped?
You don't really want to restore system app because they change from rom to rom. So that includes your system ui. I personally use sms backup from pay sure for texts and call history, it seems to not do pictures messages so save any pics you want. Finally your contacts i hope are saved to your Google account....if not use backup assistant or export to sd card.

So I flashed CM10. I really really don't get the big deal haha. I guess I'll play around with Google Now.
The only things I kind of miss so far is S-memo that I actually did use a lot. Anyone have suggestions for a good handwritten-note alternative?
Also missing a lot of widgets from the pull down notifications.
It does seem speedier and I'll see how my battery goes.
This was my first time doing this so it took me like almost an hour to restore everything from Titanium Backup. I like how my Apex Launcher goes back to almost exactly as it was, except the widgets have to be readded.
But overall if I'm not seeing a big difference as a daily driver, I might just go back to stock rooted as I was pretty happy with that anyways.

I don't remember exactly where it is, but look around in the settings. I know there is somewhere where you can customize the "Power Widgets" as I believe they are called. Add/remove, reorder, I actually like it a lot better than touchwiz's quick buttons.
Although I don't blame you if you go back. As much as I loved CM10, (I know I will get my head ripped off for saying this but...) I actually kinda missed Touchwiz's apps. I hated the new contacts app, and I missed the camera, calculator, calendar, and dialer. But if you do go back, might I suggest trying a custom TW based rom. I'm running synergy and I love it!
CM is all about clean look, speed, no crap, straight android. The theme engine allows for some pretty awesome customizations using downloaded themes from the play store.
If it's not flashy enough for you, you want to stick with a touchwiz based rom-stock, cleanrom, synergy, jellywiz (jb), etc.
But before you do that, throw a theme like dustinb's cobalt line of themes. These make cyanogen rom's very tempting. I personally am just waiting for that stable release cm10 release.

For me at least, my choice to stick with TW wasn't about the theme, it was about features. I absolutely can't stand the layout of the contacts app, that's the big thing stopping me from switching. The dialer in CM10 doesn't let you spell out contact names like the TW one. Admittedly I like the theme of the calculator and calendar on TW better, but it's nothing that would stop me from enjoying wonderful AOSP.
CM10 - a quick review
I agree with noingwhat here... I missed a lot of the apps in TouchWiz in a mere three hours straight of playing with CM10.
I seriously find the camera to be embarrassingly bad, at least in terms of look & feel compared to the tw camera.
The same goes for the calculator. I'm sure it does what it needs to, but it just doesn't look very polished. These are two apps that I use on a really frequent basis. Are these what the stock apps look like on a Nexus?
I also was not a fan of the Contacts app, and for whatever reason, couldn't find a way to explicitly link each contact to their Facebook profile.
One other small nitpick, I think the slide to unlock in TW was done very well. You simply swipe in any direction. Having to swipe in a specific direction on a 4.8 inch screen is just asking for your phone to fall out of your hand. Also, I can't see the clock on the lockscreen due to my wallpaper being a lighter color. I refuse to change my kate upton wallpaper lol.
I liked how the text message threads looked in JB over tw. TW looks plain silly sometimes.
My APW widgets look a lot better in JB than in TW, especially when using the ICS skin for apw.
I really loved the transition animations in CM10 overall. I also liked the little animation you get when the screen turns off. Very very cool.
Anyway, since I was using Apex launcher already, it had the same look and feel on CM10 as I did on stock-rooted (although I admit CM10 was a bit zippier). I really think I just missed the apps too much but I did enjoy the modern, clean, and sleek look and feel in straight JB.
But!! On the plus side, I was able to get to recovery, perform backups, restore my apps and text messages, all on my first try without bricking my phone. I was able to return to my Nandroid without any problems either.
I appreciate all the work done by the CM team but I'm hoping it comes along a bit further in the near future. All my opinions are obviously subjective, so I hope it's all taken with a grain of salt. I'm a long-time lurker here so I'm just glad to see that someone new can eventually get the hang of all this.
I have to say after playing around with CM10 for about week I have to agree.
There was a time when AOSPs like CyanogenMod was far better than any of the Manufacturer Skinned android variants. HTC Sense on my OG Droid Incredible was considered by many to be the best OEM skinned Android variant and CM6 left it in the dust. It was more stable, faster and had more features.
However, TouchWiz is pretty damn good. The Samsung apps are strong(with the exception of S-Voice). Its pretty fast(once you turn off S-Voice). Its still needs a little project butter and Google Now but other than that imo its pretty solid.
Now of course there are specialty thing like overclocking or drastic UI changes that require custom roms but 90% of users have no desire to do any of that stuff.
I still love AOSP roms and I'll probably keep tinkering with them, but staying with TouchWiz isn't the worst decision in the world.

I forgot about the messenger too. I actually prefer the messenger in TW over JB, but as far as the settings and overall UI, I prefer JB. If only I could get the apps, that's all I want.

Google Now

Anyone know how i can get Google Now with search feature loaded onto my stock rooted rom? It is De-odex VRALHD rom.
Thank you in advance
There is a file in the Clean Rom thread that has a zip that you flash in recovery. I did it and it is working great. Google Now is not quite as impressive as I thought it would be.

I came from the GNex and IMO it runs better on the GNex. I'm sure once Samsung/VzW finally give us JB it will be better.
I use the mod from clean Rom also and it works well.

I agree with others here, g now is not as good as I thought it was going to be. S Voice comes pretty close, plus S voice has deeper integration with phone settings, etc. I have it running on CleanRom 2.5 which is G7 based.

Google now takes time to learn about you and it works a lot better on jelly bean. For example it always let's me know how long it'll take me to get home. If I google a restaurant on my computer or phone it'll automatically tell me directions and how long to get there. And plenty more

i notice no quality differentiation between it on jelly bean or ics (jellybomb release by inc), still get great results and always displays the time it takes me to get to and from work, also for ball games and whatnot too.....i love it, just wish i could set it default to home button without having to need an app like home2 shortcut

I'd ask incubus if he can add that into his rom. On liquid smooth I've got it mapped to my home button without needing to use an app

[Q] S3 dialer sucks?

Anyway to install the ICS/Jellybean dialer on my rooted/unlocked stock?
Thanks!

Don't think so. It can be modded/themed but is tied into Touch Wiz and framework. Definitely not the Jellybean. Maybe a dialer app from the Market.
Install exdialer and buy the plugs, you'll never use another dialer again. It miui made (don't be frightened) and is awesome. The ui/speed/ability to maintain the same between rom's is wonderful. My two cents....

I don't know of any standalone dark MMS apps, but the Slim Bean 4.2.2 build by onlychevys includes a dark theme that inverts the built-in apps. Plus it's a nice lightweight ROM with great battery life.
If you're on a cm based ROM, many themes will do this for you. Also, you could search for justinbean here on xda. He's got a ton of inverted packages that many on the rocket say work well.
Edit: sorry, just saw that you're on embryo. Justinbean may still work for you.
