[Q] Slim Bean 2.4 ROM and Samsung JELLYBEAN: 9.18.2012 Kernel - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm on the Slim Bean 2.4 ROM and today loaded the KT747 Samsung JELLYBEAN: 9.18.2012 kernel using CWM Recovery. The phone does not boot. I had to reboot into CWM and load the KT747 AOSP JELLYBEAN kernel for the phone to work again.
Does anyone have the KT747 Samsung JELLYBEAN: 9.18.2012 kernel working on Slim Bean 2.4 ROM? If so, what could I be doing wrong?
Thanks.

You flashed a non AOSP kernel on an AOSP rom that's why your phone was not booting up. At least im fairly certain that's what happened. You have to be careful when flashing kernel's that there compatible with your rom. Generally AOSP kernels will always work with AOSP roms and TW kernels will work with TW roms, just make sure there both ICS or JB both the rom and kernel.
I'll make it easy
TW ICS ROM = TW ICS Kernel
TW JB ROM = TW JB Kernel
ICS AOSP ROM = ICS AOSP Kernel
JB AOSP ROM = JB AOSP Kernel
No mixing or combining

[Q] Can i flash any kernel on any rom

or is there a match to the two?
You can only flash a Sense based kernel on a Sense based rom
You can only flash an AOSP kernel on an AOSP based rom
/end
thank you sir i would of messed that way up haha appreciate your help
and you cant flash a froyo kernel on a gingerbread ROM. so you have to make sure its the same android version. and also yes, cant use a sense kernel on a non-sense (haha) ROM.
use kernel manager youll get a list of them

ICS Kernel on JB

Can I use my Codename Android Tiamat sourced kernel on the "stock" VZW JB rom? Would like to have OC. I did run the Team Eos rom for a while, but I kinda prefer more of stock rom.

Can anyone start modifying their kernels for "JellyWiz"?

The TouchWiz version of JellyBean, JellyWiz, posted in the Development section, has reached a beta2 level, and is becoming very stable.
After running CM-10 with KT747 kernel for over 20 days now without any major issues, underclocked to 192 (or 96) and undervolted, it's hard not to be used to the battery life. Even with the smoothness of CM-10 and the great batt life of the available kernels for it, there are a few things in TouchWiz that made me wanna give it a try again, like the camera, so I went back to the JellyBean version of TW ported from T-Mo. It is very smooth and has been mostly debloated, however, the batt life is totally different coming from those kernels that sip battery. With JB becoming more and more stable on TW, has any dev kindly considered recompiling their great kernels, such as leanKernel or KT747 to work on the JellyBean version of TouchWiz? I would really think a lot of people would want to over or underclock with TW JellyBean. There are kernel versions for AOSP JB and ICS roms, and for TW ICS rom, but nothing for TW JB right now. With Sammy or VZ maybe soon also releasing JB for TW, or eventually, the need for kernels recompiled for that will be there soon. Would anyone give it a try for a custom, more efficient kernel for that rom option? Anyone else been looking for a kernel for this purpose?
Thanks
i may be wrong but i doubt there will be any custom kernels for the jellywiz rom until verizon gives us the ota and we get kernel source.

Is there no kernel source from the T-Mo version that was ported to the Verizon phone?

[Q] Looking for fast roms! Stock clocks!

Hey! Im currently running Jellybean-Hydro 4.1 rom with stock clocks. Feels very snappy after tweaking out a bit
What are the fastest CM-Based rom's at the moment?
I remember i really liked the Baked Blackbean rom on ICS, but the latest ported Blackbean-6 werent as snappy as Jellybean-Hydro rom what i am currently using.
I have randomly tried different JB roms but im really interested in CM roms
So go on and suggest me some good roms to flash!
Thanks!
there are only 3 out there basing on CM. In my opinion the best is

But best Roms out so far are the Clean Rom 2.,5 for the TF700 with clemsyns Kernel (you can choose it during installation)

[Q] Need help choosing an aokp kernel

I'm running jellybam 9.1.2 jb. Does a kernel need to be for either aosp, or aokp? Can I run a kernel made for aosp rom on an aokp rom? Sorry, kind of new to the kernel thing. Thanks
If a kernel gives you the option, choose the one for Aokp /cm. Jellybam is based off Aokp.
I've looked for an aokp kernel
I've looked for an aokp kernel, but I'm not having any luck finding one. They're mostly aosp. Thanks for the reply

AOKP is a CyanogenMod based rom modified with features that aren't in CyanogenMod . CyanogenMod is based directly on AOSP but with features not in stock android . With that being said the AOSP kernels work on your rom.
