What is your i/o score on quadrant? - Asus Transformer TF700

My last 3 infinitys had very low io scares and were very choppy when using the device. Im on my 4th and this one has a score of around1080 for io performance on quadrant. What are your scores?

The Infinity has the worst I/O between the tf101 and tf201 in stock. Unlock your device and get the Zeus rom to increase the I/O A LOT. I just ran a test and got 4777 on I/O.

Ran the test for you and it appears my tf700 is getting about 1000 to 1100 for I/O
I think I am going to unlock my device and go to Zeus' Rom or the CM10 unofficial build.
That should fix stuff!

I just got a 1065 on i/o in Performance mode, stock but rooted
*edit* 769 in battery saver mode
*edit 2* I did this same test on my Galaxy S III, just to compare because I never really paid attention to the IO speed before. My Galaxy S III scored 6197....wtf

I/O scores are best on ZEUS v4.0 (ICS) and the Team EOS Jelly Bean 1 Rom, though it gave me some random reboots. Both Baked Black Bean 3 rom and the CM10 alpha have I/O (at least SQLite) score more like stock. Needs to have some tweaking done. Otherwise, all the JB roms are even faster than ZEUS v4.0, which is nice and fast.

Running stock, performance mode, Force 2D GPU rendering OFF
I/O score of 1125.
Really hope that if/when they release JB, it fixes the I/O problem.
Although to be honest, its showing the TF201 as having a higher I/O than the Infinity, however I remember my TF201 being even more sluggish when I/O-ing, such as installing apps from the Play Store, etc.

I kind of don't pay as much of attention to Quadrant and benchmarks. They are good static indicators but lets face it (they do things you wouldn't normally do).
If the tablet is slow in different areas it will be noticeable. If it's not then hey it's working well. Kind of like the Kindle Fire's will probably not score as high but they work well for what they were designed to do.

I can't explain why there is a sudden jump in performance for both total and i/o, but to get more reliable scores you should run it multiple times. Compared to the other devices shown in the result page, the i/o (green) is still behind all other devices.
I'm still waiting for ASUS to release the .30 for WW and hoping that it or JB will improve the scores.

Got my infinity and ran quadrant right away my I/O score was in the 4,000 range. I was on a rom version before .26.
I updated to .26 and it went to around 1,000.
I found this odd because people keep saying .26 has better performance.. I never actually used the tablet pre .26 update... but this thing kinda sucks. My fairly old Iconia a500 is WAY smoother and offers a better overall user experience.
I just updated to .30
Now I get about 850 I/O
At this rate I'll be down to 0 soon.

Stock Teg3 One X running the recent 4.0.4 update.
If you guys want numbers that make you feel good about IO, use Quadrant. It runs four simple tests and only runs sequential, not random reads and writes. Random, especially writes (actually, all writes), is a weakness on all Asus tablets because of their choice of IO controller and NAND solution. AndroBench runs 11 IO tests and breaks out the results of each.
Here's a Teg3 One X vs. a stock TF300 on JB. The TF201, TF300, and TF700 are all using the same implementation of Hynix NAND. The N7 is where Asus moved to a Kingston solution. According to Anand it's better but not significantly. The $199 7" KF HD is using a Samsung IO controller and NAND. Asus' IO issues aren't s/w, they're h/w and will continue until they start using more mainstream solutions like Samsung, HTC, and even Amazon use.
This is a good discussion of Asus' IO challenges...

All it it is Android Revolution HD 1.3 with blades kernel-meh running at 1656 (because the top frequency is unstable and actually makes it slower) with the interactive governer (thought i was on ondemand but just checked again) and i used task killer to free up ram before i ran the test. I also used v6 supercharger with option 8 a few days ago but didn't really notice a difference with it. I remember in the early days of the transformer there was talk about having different quality of chips and i remember mine testing very high so that might have something to do with it as well
The highest so far was 7522 on arhd / blades -meh at 1656..
This is my latest 7154 at 1592mhz...

You have to find the sweet spot for your tf dont push it to high because it becomes unstable not to low or there's no point in over clocking so its about balance

Seems they have added cfq and deadline! At least non-rooted users can try this out now.
RootKeeper did its job, happily
Edit: Getting 80s in RL Benchmark on sio, which is a mediocre improvement, but 1000 INSERTs took only 27s (as compared to 60 earlier), so they really started working on this thing!!!

Not sure if improved or just margin of error,
but RL benchmark I got 102 on Andropolice it was 119, so not so much.
Second run after cold boot (not sure if mattered), I got slightly faster # of 94. Note these were on balanced mode.
On Performance/Normal mode, I got 81. I do not know which mode Andropolice used, but if they used Performance Mode as well then it is indeed some improvement i.e. ASUS is indeed working on this issue actively.

I am dumb. What does all this mean?
don't worry you're not the only one who doesn't know what any of that means

I Don't understand why i'm getting such low Antutu scores

In the benchmark result post, people are getting way way way better scores than me. People are getting 13 000, 14 000, while you can see in this screenshot, i'm not even hitting 5K. This is with performance mode, running .26
I really dont get it how come my score are so low. I am rooted and have removed a bunch of bloatware that did make my tablet seem smoother. In any case, i did try this test before even rooting and still around 4500. I tried changing settings in SetCPU, even when i use performance governor and cfq, still get around 5100. Any ideas?
My MicroSD is a Sandisk Class 10.

i dont want to unlock as i have a 2 year warranty on this tablet. And even if you might be right about benchmarks, this is not a 5% or even 10% difference, its 60 to 70%. That is a major difference that has something behind it and i want to try and find out what that is.

Do you have force GPU rendering on in the Dev option, because it is known to drastically drop your scores.
I'm getting around 14150 using Zues' Rom v3.0.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using XDA Premium HD app
in addition to ensuring that you have forced 2d rendering disabled, you might want to check your minfree settings. right after flashing zeus' rom earlier i ran a test and also got around 5k. it didn't jump up to 13k until i adjusted minfree. you can find some suggested settings in d14b0ll0s' tweaks thread. you don't need to be unlocked but you do need root.
Mh... i had similiar issues too. First after i installed .26 i got also 13k. Then after some time i only got 5k-7k.
Yesterday i read an article on anandtech.com with the title the-16gb-nexus-7-storage-performance. Sorry can't post url's.
One of the comments remembered me about one thing. I also had a transformer prime. I used it to store my pictures. The more less diskspace i had, the slower the transformer become.
i had some movies, pictures and tv episodes on infinitys internal memory. After deleting them i got again 10-12k.
Actually, we should become very angry on asus putting such a crap into a such expensive device. Even the nexus 7 got apparently a better controller then our infinity... grrrrrr
Well I only got 3600 on the quadrant mark with the .26 update installed, so I was a it puzzled there. When I tried without force GPU rendering it couldn't even hit 3000!
Ran this one just once this morning. I'm stock, rooted, locked. Used setcpu to overclocking both max/min to 1700MHz and set to performance.
Ran this one with ATP Tweak.

Not my call. It was a suggestion from other great brainers of this forum. I didn't suspect it or have any why a factory reset would help. Maybe cache related?

im getting very low scores in quadrant benchmark.

i downloaded the last version of quadrant from google play and im getting very low scores with my atrix 2..
i don't have any widgets, live wallpapers , 3rd party launchers, etc that could affect the results..
my scores are:
total: 1906
cpu: 1977
mem: 2471
2d: 211
3d: 2029
the max score i've got is about 2100.. and the average for this phone must be around 2600-3000 if im not wrong, i haven't installed any custom rom, i have the stock GB 2.3.6
what could be the problem ???

And, yea, it can get bogged down after long periods of use without rebooting..
Moto recommends at least one reboot a day (at least they did to me when trying to troubleshoot my brick)!
Also, you can put most all of your apps on the Auto-End list in the stock Task Manager, and try Cache Cleaner from the Play Store... also good to clean up the dalivk-cache once in a while... might help keep you running smoother.

Mine ranges from 5200-5600.
I've seen scores up to 6500, how do you achieve that?
I'm using SCV7 without the latest patch (CS + Speed boost), does it change that much?
Motorola lied and I'm still locked mb865

Oh yes, latest speed boost and then the OC 1.2 after puts this phone into lightspeed. Never been more satisfied with performance on here now. Give it a go and check out the difference...n daaaammm dude look at the score above this reply...I'm sure thats on SCV7 as well with latest speed boost.
Edit: Scores were higher just now...don't know why, got more apps then first test lol. All good though.

Actually if you're referring to mine it's not scv7. It's my own custom odexed rom. Minimal tweaks done here and there but I'm pleased with it.
Edit: also I've beat that score

My fastest quadrant score

Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
I don't know what happened. I started out with what i consider terrible quadrant compared to ics. I'm rooted and unlocked, but other than cleanup bloatware my tablet is stock. I have 2d acceleration ticked.
4711 is 200points higher than ics score. Someone mentioned wait a few days, my response, what that's going to do? Maybe he was right.

I don't think scores are the end all. User experience is much more important. I don't know which test is best, but quadrant is easy to use and gives a graph that i can compare over time. Quadrant is just away to keep score.
I like to see others scores. I would prefer people post quadrant scores and graph if possible.

Thanks kiddo!
I'll try it then put a graph up.
I've never benched this tab before.
Man that's kind of unreadable...4417 overall
When you screen shot use landscape. Easier to read. Were you in performance mode?

I boobooed with the graph in portrait.
I tried in balanced first then benched in performance mode.
The graph is showing performance mode.
I wanted to do another test after killing off all the apps I can.
I haven't installed anything after JB.
Poor Asus... They must have thought a powerful CPU could make up for their pitiful I/O...

Unfortunately the Transformer Infinity doesn't compare to my GS3 overall. The Infinity has a monster CPU and slightly better GPU overall (based on many tests which it wins some and loses some), but the 2D performance is severely lacking as is the I/O. Still, it's not a bad thing at all. Works quite well for what I wanted.

Galaxy S3
With Quandrant, my SGS3 got a better score than my TF700 but with Antutu, my Asus tab wins.
i got 6665 in quadrant on htc one x jb!!

I get 6730 on my Htc Evo 4g LTE, getting the infinity tab tomorrow, bit unsettling that it's getting that low of scores.
