I cant find anything for this phone. I ordered online, because I need a new phone. My HTC Inspire is acting crazy, and I moved to an area where AT&T has crap service, so I am switching to Verizon. Is there anyone working on root, or anything for this phone yet?
I Googled it, looked around some and I saw a few posts about xda. They said that xda devs would probably work on a JB port soon but that doesn't mean anything. It looks like a nice phone though and if you ask me, it will probably have a few devs for it at least.

For the price, free with contract, it has a good set of features. The only thing I think I wont really care for is the camera, but you get what you pay for. I was just hoping there would be a root guide for it, and maybe a rom or 2 before I got it in. When I got my Inspire I had it rooted, and a new rom flashed within an hour of getting it.
Well rooting should be easy. Get CWMR on the phone and flash Superuser.zip as for ROMs, I could make a few changes to stock for you.

I get the phone in tomorrow. I may have to ask for some help. I have been a little spoiled with my rooting in the past. With both my Captivate, and Inspire basically I just had to hook them up to the computer hit couple buttons, and CWM, and SU were both flashed for me. I haven't have to flash CWM myself before.
CWM is easy, just flash through Odin. Then flash Superuser through CWM. PM me and I'll help in detail.

Just an update. I got root by following this right here: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-stellar-4g-lte-all-things-root/619913-how-root-samsung-stellar.html
I am looking forward to devs backing this device, and giving me some awesome ROM experiences. I really needed root, as soon as I booted it, and saw all the bloatware, I was like, nope this has gotta go! I only achieved root, didn't attempt the recoveries from the SGS3 thread, but this will do for now I guess, lol.

I have had my Stellar for about 7 months now. It has been a reliable device, with the exception of the camera. Well lighted, and outdoor shots look nice. Indoor shots is another story, only due to a lack of a flash on the camera.I am awaiting the S4, then I am going to attempt to root the Stellar, for now I am scared to brick the phone.
I rooted my Galaxy Stellar, it was very easy and I didn't brick it. The whole process to root only takes about 15 minutes then your goods to go. If your still interested in rooting your Galaxy Stellar then message me back and I'll give you a link to the site that helped me root my phone.

alright so i had one of my friends who has the vibrant on tmobile help me root and install darkys rom on my phone. since i had no idea i just let him do it since he has it on his phone. we rooted it use the onesuperclick. we took off the bloatwear and then put the rom on the sd card loaded it up in recovery and did the recovery then installed it. my phone hard bricked. nothing comes up or no download mood nothing even when pluged. but no worries i just send it to tmobile. but i wanna know if anyone can give me a guide to do this step by step so it dosent happen again when i get my phone back. thanks
The vibrant roms do not work on the 4g....until they are ported to 4g with the proper mods made to the rom they will cause a brick everytime

2. people like you and your friend are the reason carriers and manufacturers are going towards more restrictive ability to root and signed/encrypted bootloaders

I know, some have tried the other roms for the other variants. but only wound up messing up their own tab. And the restore tab is for AT&T international version and even though it does work, it isn't all in English. The closest one is for Tmobile, but TMO doesn't have LTE, so you could kiss it goodbye. Probably why not many have tried it. It's a shame that the Dev's don't want to own one, I have dumped my rom also did a CWM backup of my tab. But since there is no one to work on getting us a JB rom, we have to wait for the update from AT&T, if they ever do it.
I'm sure at&t won't release anything soon

I would also like to know this answer... I'm just starting my research on Rooting and installing a Custom ROM on my device.
I've found a few other sites that give you ROM's....
http://tips4droid.com/top-best-custom-rom-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/
http://www.thegalaxytabforum.com/index.php?/topic/16585-custom-rom-for-att-i497-p5113-solved/ Not sure if this is an Original ROM or not.
http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-ta...-for-galaxy-tab-10-1-and-tab-2-android-4-2-2/
http://nasirtech.blogspot.com/2013/12/vlamj2-412-jb-official-rom-att-galaxy-tab2-10-1-sgh-i497.html
But I didn't know anything about what they were talking about in the above replies...I hope there are some ROM's as this Tab is constantly Freezing and slowing down... I hardly have anything on it and constantly keep clearing the Cache in the Recover Boot area... I was hoping a Root with a custom ROM would help me out.....
Anything new?
Figure this is so old that if nobody has done one by now, it never going to happen.
I don't think there's a custom rom for your device...
Heya guys! I'm a little new to this but I've been a pretty decent member of XDA and most importantly, like many of us here, a flashaholic. I'm not a dev at all nor do I currently have any abilities, skills or anything to be called one. Anyways, onto topic, I've been trying to port MIUI v5 to the skyrocket because it is one sexy beast from what I can see. Of course, with no skills whatsoever, it's been a very difficult task. I've only been searching and using guides here and there only to run into a wall because there isn't a guide for v5, or at least not yet.
The first time I tried to port it, it wouldn't boot at all and would be stuck at an unresponsive black screen after the samsung logo after powering it on.
However, this made me research a little bit more and I made a second port using the Galaxy Nexus MIUI rom from the official site and using CM 10.1 nightly 20130501. I only managed to make it go to the MIUI boot logo screen and it's stuck there now with no progress and I am now confused. Lol, so uhm... any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated please? I'm willing to learn and would appreciate any help. In the mean time, I'll also continue to research. Thank You!
I believe Team Rookie would be able to help with that, they are in the Development section.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727.
You shouldn't use cm 10.1 to port miui v5, miui v5 is still android 4.1.2 based whereas cm 10.1 is 4.2.2 and on top of that the nightly builds are rather unstable right now. You should use a cm 10 stable build. I have been trying to port the ROM myself and only get as far as the boot animation, but i can tell you mixing bases probably won't work.....

Yes haha I realized after further research in that miui v5 was actually 4.1.2. I am still trying to port it now and still to no avail and only stuck at the boot screen. Perhaps I should learn how to modify the framework. I'm pretty sure that's the only possible problem. But of course I wouldn't know much of where the problem lies xD

The miui script has a bunch of aroma stuff in it. There's also a bunch of additional folders in the miui rom. So I'm debating which script to edit, the miui or the cm10. As far as I know the only way to hard brick one of these phones is to flash a kernel from another device. Soft bricks are easy fixes as long as you know how to use Odin and in some cases all you have to do is reboot to recovery and flag another ROM. I was hoping no one would ask that I've been piece mealing it and I don't remember all the steps. The miui rom structure is quite a bit different then most. I haven't decompiled any apks though, just putting the right pieces in the right places. A lot more luck than skill. I've also lost the ability to see my external sd card with the computer either thru usb or mounting in recovery. Root explorer still sees it though. Don't know what that's all about.
