[Q] Micro SD XDHC? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Since I've upgraded to CM10, can my Infuse now use XDHC cards? I would love to have a 64GB card in my phone if it is possible.

It should be mountable and accessible. Insert it and see for yourself.

I didnt think the Infuse could handle over 32GB, I just picked up a 32GB & 64GB SanDisk Ultra (Class10) cards recently, the 64GB was not able to be mounted but the 32GB was..
I dont know if its my hardware, but im experiencing the same Read-errors on this (3rd) MicroSD card i have used on this phone. I am CM10 as well, at first it was great, but since i have had a couple files that were not accessible, the entire experience has turned to crap.

Micro SD card deals

I went looking for a microSD card over the weekend and was really disappointed in the prices I found. A lot of the deals were already sold out at Fry's and CompUSA (Tiger Direct).
I'd like to start this thread to help others (and me ) find the best deals on expanded memory for our phones.
Any good finds?
This 16BG class 10 card was on sale this weekend at Fry's for around $10, but it was gone by 9:30 on Saturday morning.

i may be wrong, but i dont think the rocket was able to support a 64gig card.
this would be GREAT
AmazonBasics cards are cheap and great quality
You may want to look into getting Sandisk branded cards instead of just any old card.
Some of the class 10 cards out there have atrocious small block random read/write speeds, and that has been a major issue for the Nook Color world. That being said, we aren't running a complete OS off the SD card on our skyrockets, but even running apps off the card may cause speed issues.
Nook Color SD Card Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1005633
All of the benchmark data in that thread summarized into a google docs spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjPE3ZAD2eVudE9vZmQ3aHlfTkFvU2J4ZUplRDJQTEE
I can't vouch for any cards other than what I've seen -- Class 10 Patriot, Class 10 A-Data, 3x Class 4 SanDisks, and an unmarked SanDisk. Everything (including the unmarked SanDisk) except for the Class 2/4 SanDisks were atrocious in running a SD card based OS on my Nook. My Class 4 SanDisks benchmarked somewhere between 20x and 40x faster than the other cards for small block writes.
This is my card, AmazonBasics 16 GB microSDHC Class 10 Flash Memory Card with SD Adapter

This is not the first time I have heard the Sandisk 64Gb microsd works after a reformat. Now they are down to $150 for a class 6 and I am seriously about to try one out.

Thanks, that looks like a good quality card. I was going to hold off on buying a microsd for my phone, but $27 for 16GB and those speeds people are posting looks really good. In for one.
So to wrap up the 64gb arc, it works on the SR without any glitch? Cos me want it!

[Q] whats a good microsd card?

I want to get rid of the 2gb card the phone came with and replace it with a 16gb or 32gb. Im planning on getting a class 10 microsd card. I just want a sugestion of a good one...ive heard stories that some sd cards dont work well with android.
Most of my data is music (typically 320kbps), photos and some videos taken with the phone, and some apps

have a 64gb in mine as i type with no issues.
I had to do an RMA with Sandisk because the 64GB microSDXC would not stay mounted in my S3 nor would it in my Note II. So I received a new one and guess what, it's doing the same thing in my S4. I've only gotten the unmount/remount three times in the past month, so that's a lot better than the last card. I'm going to give it some time before I order another. For what it's worth, I used a Samsung 32GB microSDXC in my last two phones and it never had any issues. Worked flawlessly.
I'm going to see if this is still going on today. I'd hate to think I missed it. Thanks for the heads up.
Can't believe I missed this. I have a 32gb but would like to upgrade to a 64gb but not for the standard price.

Anyone have a 32GB? If so, do you have problems with flashing roms in TWRP with it? I can't install the Mint Jelly Rom using the 32GB, so I switched to my old 16GB and was able to flash the rom. I don't know if its the recovery or the card.

Yes. I got a sandisk 32gb ultra in the mail a few days ago. During install in twrp it was making all the Roms I tried finish prematurely. Needless to say the roms wouldn't boot. I took that out and stuck my other sandisk 32gb sdcard in there that's not ultra but just a microsdhc and it worked fine. I sent the ultra card back to amazon and got a refund.

SD card suggestions.. Please help.

At the moment I have a 32gb ultra SD card in my s4. The SD card is damaged for whatever reason. So I was wondering, what's the best type of SD card for me to get. I spent 20$ on my sdcard. So I'm willing to spend the same amount more or less.. Don't need anything more than 32gb or probably anything over 16. Of course the more the merrier.
Thanks in advance.

I got sandisk 16gb from amazon. Paid a good $22 for it. Around the same time, bought samsung 16gb micro sd while it was on sale for my tablet.
Three months into use, sandisk just stopped working. All the photos I took over the period of three months lost with it. Mind you, I'm not tech- illiterate, so I attempted different methods to recover my data with no luck.
Contacted sandisk, and received a new micro sd through warranty. A months into use, it failed again. Luckily, I had backed up my photos with dropbox, so no real losses except wasted time.
Didn't even bother to file warranty and tossed the sd out.
Been using samsung microsd for good six months with no problem.
This is my experience, and you may have (had) better luck than I.

SanDisk Ultra 64GB is perfect, Class 10. Working since 8 months!
I have SanDisk class 10 and my S4 is rebooting randomly. So if you can, go away from that card.

If you search the forums, you will find that MANY people report (and I experienced it too) that any card other than a Samsung can be problematic. I have a 32GB Class10 card from A-Data or Kingston or some other major name and it worked fine in my Atrix for a year or so. Got my S4 and put the card in it. Regularly and routinely, the phone would "lose" the card or claim it needed formatting because it was "damaged."
My Samsung card has had zero issues. You should be able to get a 32GB Sammy for about $20.

Out of 2100 reviews (posted up to Feb 2013) on Amazon, the SanDisk Ultra has a 4.5 star average (1500 of the reviews give it a full five stars). It’s the most popular and best-rated on Amazon.

Here on XDA there are significantly less problems with Samsung SD's compared to Sandisk. Especially using the larger (64GB for example) sizes.
When using an SGS4 and in need of a large card simply use the Samsung one. And format it Fat32 when not in need of files >=4GB. Best combo of compatibility.
IMHO, of course

I am using the same SanDisk Ultra 64Gb same as you, though the first one that I bought gave me a lot of problems (Constantly ejecting, then eventually, the phone no longer recognizes it.) Then I bought another 64Gb and I never had any problems from there.
It seems that those having issues with Sandisk probably got theirs from a faulty batch that Sandisk even admitted.

I bought the Lexar 128 High Speed Card. I will post if it works, but I already know it would. Why? Because Android is the dictator of storage support. I remember putting a 64GB card in the phone that "Supported" "Up to" 16GB. So I don't believe that stuff.

I just ordered one recently, you would be surprised on how quickly space can be filled up by back ups , if you decide to back up the OS every time you flash/make changes.
Pictures, videos, I take a lot of both. Music maybe depending on my mood.

It is a lot of space, way more than enough for the average person. Especially when you add the 32 GB on the phone itself. That gives you 160 GB.
I think its more of the comfort in having all that space available to do whatever you want with it.
I have 75 GB of music on mine along with a bunch of pictures and videos.
So it makes sense for me.

That's why I didn't buy the S6. The only reasons I'm still using the S5 over the M9 right now are the fact that there's no battery case for the M9 and the S5 can record calls automatically.
Yea the S6 would have been my choice... but no, it's $750 for a nice phone, but no micro SD???
it's $650 for M9 and has micro SD, so i got that instead.
Why? Think about it, you have to transfer your music+videos and stuff everytime you buy a new phone if you don't have micro SD and kept it all internal. Not fun.
plus, why not 32GB + 128Gb or oooo, 32gb + 200GB!
Why not have the option to add more space?
for the record i'm using Sandisk UHS-I 128GB micro SD.
