Hello XDA. I was looking through your forums trying to upgrade my android's os and ran into trouble. Any help would be appreciated.
I just broke my android inspire. I tried to root it and once I installed the hack it doesn't boot anymore. It's stuck at the boot screen. My volume down button doesn't work so I can't reset it. Can I reinstall it from my pc? I've got a windows and linux partition. I'm guessing I'm going to need the linux partition because I can't access the file system through My Computer anymore.
What should I do?
Find the forum for your phone and ask there, you will find people that know your phone better. Make sure you have the drivers installed on your computer and try to adb reboot recovery.

Hi,
A friend gave me a Storage Options Scroll 7" Model 51624 (TCC8902) with 2.1.
I found that cyanogen has a 2.3 Rom for this device so I tried to flash it.
I flashed the clockwork recovery and did my back up. Then I downloaded the rom from cyanogen and installed.
What was my surprise that when I restarted it got stuck on the main screen with the logo "scroll Storage Options"
I tried to enter the recovery but doesn't work!!!
I think my error was the rom I choose for flashing.
I used the Storage Options Scroll 7" resistive 8K, and I know now that mine is the same one but the resistive 4K.
I though I could do something if I could use the Adb commands and some inspiration but the problem is that my computer doesn't recognize the device (Android in yellow on device manager). I installed the Android SDK that has the google usb driver but still not working. I tried the VTC 5.0.0.1 drivers too but no luck either.
I desperately need some help to install the boot recovery and then I'll flash the right rom.
I use windows 7 x64 and a laptop with windows xp 32.
I've been reading the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101094 but has 163 posts and I have to say that I didn't read all of them. Anyway I did a search about bricked scroll and didn'f find anything. If someone knows where to point me at I'll be very gratefull. I appologize if my posts is already solved somewhere.
Thanks in advance
there is a guide on getting android adb set up on the pc with modified drivers somewhere...
1st things 1st though, have you tried holding vol up while turning it on to get into recovery?
as long as you installed the custom recovery correctly (which im sure you did if you managed to install another rom), then you should have no problem getting into it.
unless, that is, you dont have any volume buttons to get into recovery / they dont work!

To flash the cyanogen rom I had to enter the clockwork recovery with the power+vol up. So first thing I did after realised it wasn't going to load the rom was to restart the tablet into recovery but it doesn't work.
That's why I was thinking the posibility of flashing clockwork recovery again through the adb commands or maybe the boot.img (I think this img is the one responsible for boot). But as I said my computers don't recognize the device. Both says Android with the yellow warning.
I'm looking for this modified drivers but can't find them. any web site address?
I have downloaded the firmware from Storage options but as I cant enter into the recovery I can flash it.
First time poster, long time lurker. I downloaded TWRP and installed the recovery image but soft bricked my phone. Silly me remembered I had a backup made in CWM but not in TWRP. This is when you say to run boot.img but unfortunately I can not get the drivers to install properly on my Windows 7 x64 machine, due to not having them on here to begin with. So I have no One X drivers on the computer, I have MIUI and CM10 downloaded but can not get them to load due to not flashing properly, and TWRP with no backup. I have followed all the forums to delete drivers, re-install HTC Sync, manually point to the drivers but no dice. So.....what should I do :fingers-crossed:
Mode please close, I have resolved the issue.
Please post your solution for the benefit of others. That is how this forum works, its basically a database of issues and solutions that everyone can use.
I also think you are/were confused. The phone doesn't need to be working to get the drivers on your PC. You can download them from a variety of places. If you have HTC Sync properly installed, the drivers needed to connect your phone (USB mount, adb, fastboot, etc.) are installed. But if you have connection problems, updating these drivers or re-installing them will sometimes resolve the issue.
It seems that all you needed to do is get the drivers properly installed, then mount USB and put the ROM on the phone's SD, and flash boot.img using fastboot.
You're absolutely right. The solution was that I kept looking for fastboot to identify the device, and in my head that mean I couldn't push or flash to it. So I ended up just flashing TWRP recovery again, then it booted to CM10. Now im dealing with a whole new issue, but I'm going to work through it before I post again. Thanks.
Hi, I'm kinda of a noob at this stuff, but I've learned quite a bit recently from just reading around, so bear with me if I don't understand or need more specific instructions. I have the trio stealth pro 7 and it is always stuck on the boot screen with the android logo when I boot. I was attempting to flash cm9 on the tablet but after I wiped the tablet initially, i couldnt find the cm9 rom on my internal memory while in recovery mode, so I ended up turning off my tablet, which now doesn't boot up anymore (stuck with android logo).
I found a fix where you can use livesuite and adb to fix this issue; however, after installing adb, my tablet is not being detected, (my phone does). My tablet is not being recognized by windows in general, and it doesn't show up under device manager. There was one part of the step where I need to install usb drivers for the tablet; however, I cant find any online. I have used the tablet before with my computer before the attempt to flash cm9, so I am guessing drivers should already be installed. I feel I can get this issue fixed if I can just get adb to recognize my tablet.
Perhaps this fix is not the one I need and maybe there's a simpler fix. I'm just too dumb to have realized it. Another note to add is, pressing the combination of power and volume buttons does nothing. Please help!!! thank you!!
well i scrwred my phone , did a factory reset, wiped cache, and messing about like an idiot did some messing wiht the mount /unmounting. obviosuly deleted some important system files. now its stuck in bootloop. it just stays on the logo. MY phone is huawei g620s L01 was running kitkat 4.4.4. i have cwm recovery on it. i have unlocked the bootloader. i have installed all the drivers for my device on windows. i can get into fastboot or recovery. i have downloaded a stock rom but when i type command adb sideload "nameofrom620s.zip" it starts but finishes saying install aborted/??? no explanation ...so i am really stuck, any ideas. i know it connects becasue when i type fastboot dvices, it lists a device number. when i type adb devices a few lines come up one of which is the device number and says recovery. Please can u help? is there some other software i need like a flashing tool or odin(ihave never used odin and know nothingn= about it). I should also mention that although it connects via adb/fastboot, when i check devices in windows, its not listed!? PLEASE please can someone show me the way forward? thanks.
Hi, thank you for using XDA assist. I've found this which may help you get your phone working again, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/restoring-broken-huawei-smartphones-t3047748

Hello, first post on this forum, so yeah ^^ I am also kinda new to this. I have a gs3 which is rooted and all, but that is old, and methods has changed...
So i tried to root my shield tablet and it got stuck in a boot loop. I can not get it into the bootloader using adb tools, or fastboot, or atleast i knot know how to. I have ran the: adb reboot bootloader, without success. I have also tried the: adb devices command and i dont see my device there. I have installed mini adb drivers.
This happend when using this tool(windroid): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2499926
So im thinking that if there is a way to get out of this, that would be great. I really hope i have not bricked it... all i wanted to to was to get root so that i could connect a ps3 controller... :/
I tried to use the windroid program but the recovery did not install. so i did it manually following this tut http://forum.xda-developers.com/shi...t-root-nvidia-shield-tablet-lollipop-t2972316
im am not complaining or anything, purly looking for help.
So, after trying i got it up and running. i did not flash any supersu.zip files, just installed it from the market. wen it asked me to reboot the device ended up like this. I am aware of the disclaimers and stuff. If i go to device manager on my computer i can se: SHIELD Tablet, with a yellow triangle. I also searched youtube and this forum to look for posts, but found none that could help.
