[Q] list of custom roms flashable in new and old baseband in lg p500 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i am really confused which rom i can and cannot flash in the new and old baseband in my lg p500..... would be a great help if an expert would point me the way by listing them down.
--\o/--

Any rom before mik_os 6.5.8-old baseband, any rom afterwards is all new baseband...even if your on old baseband,v10 series. With the help of that old bb fix flying around, you'll be able to use a majority of the roms in both original development and android development threads....check the sticky threads because I think sweetnsour made a detailed thread on which rom works with which baseband....but still even if your on old baseband you can still use new baseband roms as long as you flash old bb fix...if your on new baseband,v20. I believe you have to revert back to v10 via LGDMP or KDZ..I wouldn't recommend kdz though,I've never used it

v10 series is for old bb and
v20 series is for new bb.
currently i have a cm7 version on old bb fixed version. and it works fine .now i want to upgrade to ics ,so flashing new bb by lgdmp method is recommended.
some doubts: 1.do i have to do it everytime i flash a new rom?
2.how does the baseband work?
3.can i update to ics just by flashing the cm9 rom.
thanks in advance...

Easy to follow 21y baseband tutorial?

All the tutorials i seem to find require xp, dont mention anything about windows 7 comp. (they are unsure). Ones that havnt been updated to reflect the newest patch that came out from LG....
So does anyone have a link i could steal from you that is an easy to follow that will work with windows 7? I have no XP available anywhere. Scared to even try this since im reading about boot loops etc. Would like to be on the newest baseband but if its going to be this much trouble than i can wait.
I used this on win 7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674901.... And for the sound update you were referring too the update only works on stock rom and will be flashed over with a custom rom so it's basically useless if you don't stay on stock lg rom

Unless you plan to stay on stock rom i wouldnt update your bb. I updated and found out that only the stock rom has working bluetooth with it. Ended up down gradng the bb which is harder than updating it.

[GUIDE]7/9/12(Calls Working)ICS EB4.0.4 v21y/ALL BASEBANDS G2x ROOT&ROM Guide

Hey all, there has been ALOT of problems with the ICS ROM (Calling Audio due to BB Issues), but I have found a successful rom that is WORKING (Calling Audio) with the LG Optimus G2X 21y Baseband (March 11 2012 BB).
I have not seen a guide out for the 4.0.4 ICS so I wanted to give a complete thread from scratch on how to root your G2X and then successfully installing the EB4.0.4 ICS ROM.
SOME links that are provided are not mine, they are Mhaedo's and r4dn14n7 (root tutorial) and it pays off to use the SEARCH button. I actually ordered this phone last week and I have never learned so much in under a week of reading on this forum. I will continue to update and post pictures as much as college time allows me. Hope everyone enjoys!
-- I want to remind you that I am ONLY confirming that TEXT + CALLING + WIFI is WORKING. (I am still unsure of Bluetooth and Tethering).
*I have also posted a youtube video at the bottom to show that the ROM IS WORKING. It does not show how to ROOT, but please PM ME if you need help, otherwise this thread covers everything.

I did try out CM9 and did not have any success with the new BB (Kept getting the clicking noise while dialing). I can only confirm that EB4.0.4 is working. Unsure of whether tethering is working. It does have a few lag spikes, but that's if I'm blasting the cpu.
Very stable ROM

The exception is that bluetooth call audio still doesn't work with new March 2012 baseband unless you're on a stock based Rom.
Also to the OP. There is no need to root your stock Rom if you are using NVFlash to flash CWM.
if im not mistaken, a2dp doesnt work with ANY ics rom available for the g2x. i think its in the same boat with the video camera.

Does anyone know if bluetooth audio (paired with the Sync in my Fusion) works with the old baseband? I made the mistake of upgrading the BB when EB fixed their ASOP 4.0.4 for the 21y. After that I noticed that the bluetooth was finally keeping the device rename and was successfully connecting each time the car started up, but had never gotten a call or tried to make one until last weekend. The screeching was terrible. I'll revert back to the 21e baseband if it solves the bluetooth audio problem.
I went ahead and downgraded to 21e today anyway as a test. I'll report back after I test in the car later tonight.

In my About phone menu, i see the last option, Software Version as LG-P999-V21e. But the baseband version has a Date of JUL 15 2011.
I am on stock GB 2.3.3 (rooted and installed CWM 5.0.x.x).
I tried hellfire 1.9 but calls were not working due to the old base band and i got a link to install new base band that i need to flash after rom install. But based on this thread, i can just install eagles blood without any base band update and it should work with my calls?
Pls confirm. I'll try it tonight anyways but if i need to install any other basebad on top of flashing EB, do let me know. Thanks.

Hellfire1.9 is built to work with the new base band. If you are on the V21e baseband you need to install the fix you mentioned for it to work. The fix is not an updated baseband it is just a few files to make the rom compatible with the baseband you have.
Last I checked(havent used an EB rom in a while), EB and most of the other roms available are still built to be compatible with the older basebands with a fix needed to make them compatible with the newer baseband.
So far the only roms that I know have working bluetooth calling with the new baseband are based on the stock 2.3.4 update. There may be some progress with the latest cm10 based roms but i haven't had a chance to check.
Hope this clears it up a bit and doesn't confuse the situation more

in the OP for the Hellfire Sandwich 1.9 thread there is a link under the 1.9 link for the old baseband version
you need to flash that one and not the main edition as that is for the new baseband. not sure if that link actually works being on mediafire and i am at work and that site gets blocked anyway
So all I have to do is download the g2x 4.1 alpha rom and the calls will be fixed? Does it work for simple mobile?

Before that I had a BB V10H
the Version of the phone is p500h (Write behind the battery)

Is there a Rom that match the version V10H?
You can flash any custom rom made for p506 or p509 directly as they are still on old baseband which is same as your current baseband. You can also flash any p500 & p505 rom (which is new bb), and then flash the file 'old bb fix' which will make the rom compatible with your radio (baseband). In short - all roms.....(just keep in mind - cm7.2 roms are old bb roms developed before stock gb was available from LG ) .happy flashing.

Go to rashed's thread in original development section & try any rom of p506 or p509. They will be compatible for your baseband. BTW which recovery are u using? Keep a nandroid backup of your current rom which u can revert to, just in case.

the problem is that custom roms are great and offer more performance(one thing that our phone lucks) I personaly use an ICS rom, but you now, by rooting your phone, have the freedom to experiment what might be suitable for you, but I recomand to use ICS or JB roms, read treads and posts, look for what you would expect from that rom to have/do and to be for daily use, anyway from my experience every custom rom would not last too much in your phone, they are too many and too great not to experiment them(and after some time they must be reflashed anyway)
so, have fun

For google apps download the mini gapps from 1st page of your rom link and flash from recovery. Regarding hebrew font you can check Anysoft keyboard and its hebrew language pack.

Actually, P506 has a different touch screen so the drivers are different. P509 is identical to the P500 in every aspect except for the fact that it is always old baseband.
About Hebrew, it does not work.
It will not change the system language but will allow you to send & read messages and browse in hebrew after you enable in anysoft keyboard. Did you download the hebrew language pack?

[Q] Flashing New baseband on cm10.1

Hi! I was wondering on upgrading my baseband to v20(new one) for my lg p509. The question I have is can i upgrade the baseband while on cm10.1 that i got from rasheds rom?. I also read somewhere I have re flash froyo in order to upgrade the baseband. Is this true.
If you are already on cm10.1 and can make calls, you are already on new bb. If not on new bb, just flash the "old bb fix" and you are good to go.

I am on the old baseband v10 jellybean rom from rashed for p509 but was wondering on flashing the new v20 baseband while on it.
I remember the P509 never recd the gb official update & hence does not have the new baseband.
Rashed's roms for the P509 are made for the old bb.
You do not need the new bb and it is not available.

Definitely above - you need to flash the bandwidth - either the fix or flash newer. Lots of threads here about that. I got lucky and had done the update through LG before starting with custom roms and it updated it for me which allows me to use ICS and JB roms with no issues. I was also extremely impressed with the increase in reception with the new baseband. I can now stand in the middle of my house and make a call while hubby with his Blackberry stock Torch has to go stand on the porch!
