[Q][A510]Video output switching - Acer Iconia A700 and A510

Hello experts.
Just wanna how to switch to differents outputs when I connect my tablet to tv or another material.
Actually, when I branch my hdmi to TV, the output is displayed on both screen but I want to show only on TV
It will save my battery and I would do something else on my tablet while the movie is running on TV
Like a multi task output
Should I look for an application or it is not possible?
Thank you.

PPC video out

Is there anyway to output video playback from the ppc?
The spectec SDIO card is only for pics and presentations, I'm looking for something that can output real video.
I know that you can do it now with slingbox, but I want something portable that i will be able to connect to any TV (like a SDIO card).
Is there any product that can do that?
regardless, I read somewhere that you can stream video from the ppc to your TV using an HTPC (Home Theater PC) and some program called ORBIS. Do you have any idea what are they talking about? I can't find the link for the discussion...
Thanks for any help
There was some news story recently where the reporter was "shooting" video live on his phone and it was being broadcast on TV. This obviously means it's possible, but turning your PPC into a server is a different story.
There is the ActiveSync Remote Display, part of the Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys, but I never tested it to stream video. If it works on the some technology as Remote Desktop, you won't be able to stream video. But try it out.
Good luck,
Matt
oh, i m not alone. i m looking the same thing as well. i m looking (still looking...) something (not SDIO) that can output the pda screen display (and also sound) to tv or monitor. i m using o2 atom, so the only "connection" is either via a special usb cable or a bluetooth device.

Please make sure you follow my articles. CoolCamera is what you're looking for - it's the best solution for this.
I don't recommend PC -> PPC controllers because of speed issues - not even the, in this respect, fastest (read my remote controller roundup, it has been referenced several times in my articles cross-posted to here) Soti Pocket Controller.
I don't know if this has been discussed anywhere else but...
Does anyone know how I can get the video from my Tilt to show on my Pioneer AVIC-D3 display? I have my Slingbox setup and working on my Tilt and I can get the audio to play through the Bluetooth to the receiver, but I don't see a way to get the video to transfer over. Maybe a wired connection to the Aux Video Input jack?
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks to all...

It's http://orb.com. It turns your home pc into a streaming media server. Hands down better that slingbox.
With ORB you can connect your TV via a TV Tuner Card, or Have Live Secure Webcams with motion capture.
Also If you would like to stream and capture cam video from you mobile device to web you might want to check out comvu.com

You must not own a SlingBox, Orb will never ever be better than the SlingBox. Orb buffers all the time, with the SlingBox you get perfect video all the time, don't you know. The newly just released SlingPlayer mobile software is the 8th wonder of the world, Orb don't even come close dude.(LOL)

[Q] USB 3.0 Display

I'm thinking of possibly replacing my desktop computer with the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 in the future. So while at home I would want to connect it to my monitor and peripheral setup. The Plugable UD-3000 will have everything I will need including a USB 3 to DVI adapter. I'm not a big gamer but I still do want to play some mid-range games. I read in review that the USB display performs fine in normal use and video watching but not recommend for playing games. I could not find much information on this subject so I would really appreciate if anyone can shed some light on how this would compare to a dedicated video output port.

[Q] Android Mini PC to drive Wall Mounted Photo Frame

I am hoping that as a newbie, someone might give some advice into a Wall Mounted Photo Frame that I have been thinking about.
My purpose is to display mostly High Resolution Animated Gif Art and Cinemagraphs. No Photo Frames can do this.
My idea is to place a 23” or 24” ultra thin monitor into a picture frame and mount it on a wall. The monitor will be powered by an Android Mini PC such as the Android mini PC RK3066 or something similar.
I was going to plug the unit into the HDMI port on the monitor.
I currently use the Quick Pic App on my Asus Tablet to view animate Gifs as a slide show. If someone knows another app please let me know.
In order to make the frame on the wall more esthetic looking, I was going to use a monitor with an external power supply so only one small wire comes down the wall. The power supply will be a brick on the floor. To power the Android Mini PC, I was going to use a power splitter and a stepdown 12v – 5v 3a converter.
To store my images on the unit, I want to use a 32 gig SD card and move them in via wifi. I also want to utilize a Bluetooth key board or wifi in case I want to bring image in from the net.
Does anyone have any experience in this area? Also is it possible to boot right into the app so when I turn it on it will begin to display right away without a pointing device to get it going?
Or even better is there another way to approach this project?
Looking forward to hearing from all.

The is a free Android app called "Startup Manager" which i use to block certain apps starting up on boot but am sure it has options to force start apps on boot.
ive read the people use it to boot straight into XBMC so might work for your Asus app

Hi,
In my opinion and from a longer term prespective, the features you are looking for can be achieved much better with an open source digital signage such as xibo.org.uk. In addition to playing animated gif's and images you can play videos, webpages, scrolling text, RSS and scheduling content and much more compared to a simple slideshow app.
Xibo is a client server app so technically, you will need to have two separate machines, one for XIBO CMS (server) and XIBO Android player app each. Xibo for Android app from springsignage.com is only $15.
However, I (and not many have done so) being an experienced xibo user was able to successfully install and test both xibo CMS (server) and XIBO android app on same TV stick/box and then control the CMS over network (wi-fi/internet/LAN) etc to manage and schedule content for the player app.
You can get started really quickly with free and fast help from xibo community forum members.
However,If you want a set up like the one I did with xibo CMS and player app on same tv stick with auto launch of server (CMS) and app on device startup and many other technical hurdles/setup details then we can discuss this further for a bounty.
Pls send me a private message (PM) if you want my paid service so that we can discuss this further and I am confident, I can setup you up for a long term solution.
Thanks and best of luck with xibo.

btech.

Android TV box/stick to stream from laptop

Hello,
I'm new here so please pardon my 'newbiness' .
I've been searching around for an affordable tv box/stick that would enable me to:
1. Stream my laptop's desktop on my Smart TV. My idea is to use a wireless keyboard and mouse and do some work on my laptop, but sitting on the couch and looking my Smart TV.
2. Stream my xbmc from my laptop in HD quality to my Smart TV. I would love to stream Movies and TV series from my laptop's XBMC to my Smart Tv in HD quality without any lap or errors.
Is this doable with a TV stick or TV box that is affordable?
Thank you for your time and looking forward to your replays.
Kind Regards,
Luka
I am pretty new to TV streaming etc and am having a lot of fun with a cheap UBOX I bought. reading what you say though suggests to me that you don't need to spend any money at all!
if you are happy using your laptop in the way that you say (and assuming it has an hdmi slot) -why not simply run an HDMI cable to the TV and clone the screens?
perhaps I'm being dumb here, but methinks you are complicating matters -
all the many cheap boxes one can get will simply plug into your tv, pick up your wifi, run kodi etc and away you go -
so why bother with the laptop at all?
Also what do you class as "cheap"? What's your budget?
just these simple usages,u ve got 2 ways,1st,buy a wifi display stick,2nd,hdmi direct plug

Read USB and HDMI stream and display in surface view of Android TV box

Hi,
I am developing an app exclusively for Android TV boxes. This app caters to display DTH channels in Android app using the following mechanisms:
1. If DTH box renders channels through HDMI, this HDMI is provided as input to Android TV box. My app should read this continuous stream and display in surface view or similar.
2. If TV channels are rendered through AV, this AV is read by TV tuner card which in turn outputs a USB stream. My app must read this continuous USB stream and display it in any of the views.
And help pointing in this direction would be greatly appreciated, for it has been months that I have been searching for a solution to this.
Regards,
Jaydev
