Read USB and HDMI stream and display in surface view of Android TV box - Android General

Hi,
I am developing an app exclusively for Android TV boxes. This app caters to display DTH channels in Android app using the following mechanisms:
1. If DTH box renders channels through HDMI, this HDMI is provided as input to Android TV box. My app should read this continuous stream and display in surface view or similar.
2. If TV channels are rendered through AV, this AV is read by TV tuner card which in turn outputs a USB stream. My app must read this continuous USB stream and display it in any of the views.
And help pointing in this direction would be greatly appreciated, for it has been months that I have been searching for a solution to this.
Regards,
Jaydev

PPC video out

Is there anyway to output video playback from the ppc?
The spectec SDIO card is only for pics and presentations, I'm looking for something that can output real video.
I know that you can do it now with slingbox, but I want something portable that i will be able to connect to any TV (like a SDIO card).
Is there any product that can do that?
regardless, I read somewhere that you can stream video from the ppc to your TV using an HTPC (Home Theater PC) and some program called ORBIS. Do you have any idea what are they talking about? I can't find the link for the discussion...
Thanks for any help
There was some news story recently where the reporter was "shooting" video live on his phone and it was being broadcast on TV. This obviously means it's possible, but turning your PPC into a server is a different story.
There is the ActiveSync Remote Display, part of the Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys, but I never tested it to stream video. If it works on the some technology as Remote Desktop, you won't be able to stream video. But try it out.
Good luck,
Matt
oh, i m not alone. i m looking the same thing as well. i m looking (still looking...) something (not SDIO) that can output the pda screen display (and also sound) to tv or monitor. i m using o2 atom, so the only "connection" is either via a special usb cable or a bluetooth device.

Please make sure you follow my articles. CoolCamera is what you're looking for - it's the best solution for this.
I don't recommend PC -> PPC controllers because of speed issues - not even the, in this respect, fastest (read my remote controller roundup, it has been referenced several times in my articles cross-posted to here) Soti Pocket Controller.
I don't know if this has been discussed anywhere else but...
Does anyone know how I can get the video from my Tilt to show on my Pioneer AVIC-D3 display? I have my Slingbox setup and working on my Tilt and I can get the audio to play through the Bluetooth to the receiver, but I don't see a way to get the video to transfer over. Maybe a wired connection to the Aux Video Input jack?
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks to all...

It's http://orb.com. It turns your home pc into a streaming media server. Hands down better that slingbox.
With ORB you can connect your TV via a TV Tuner Card, or Have Live Secure Webcams with motion capture.
Also If you would like to stream and capture cam video from you mobile device to web you might want to check out comvu.com
You Must Never Ever Owned A SLINGBOX!

You must not own a SlingBox, Orb will never ever be better than the SlingBox. Orb buffers all the time, with the SlingBox you get perfect video all the time, don't you know. The newly just released SlingPlayer mobile software is the 8th wonder of the world, Orb don't even come close dude.(LOL)

Looking for Anaglyph Player for normal LCD TV

Our O3D can capture image and video in 3D. But when connect to TV via HDMI with 3D enable, the image will split.
So, I'm looking for a anaglyph player for android that could display image/video in anaglyph mode where we will require a "Red+Blue" anaglyph glasses. I have that glassess, then I want to watch 3D on normal LCD TV.
I can watch 3D image/video made by O3D on PC using streocospic player in anaglyph mode+3D glassess. But no such player for android I can find. I hope it do.
You need to set your TV up for sbs (side by side) playback. Some older 3D TV's can't do it tho' :-(

Anything for android?
Any news?
It's very hard to find such an app just by keywords on Play Store!
It must:
* accept SBS (sideBySide) videos
* play anaglyph videos
This would allow using any MiniPC/StickPC to "turn" any standard TV into a 3d TV!
Note that "SBS Player" on Play Store is NOT what we need: it just plays an SBS video (showing both frames!), it does not merge them into a syngle anaglyph frame.
In a second instance we'll need a PC program capable of ripping out an SBS stream from a 3d blueray disk (not easy, searched a long for it with no success).
Yeah, I was hoping I might have such an app for my android TV too.
I have tested PotPlayer on Windows 10, it plays Anaglyph 3D from SBS and OU. But, because my PC is separated from my TV by a mason wall so I need to purchase Microsoft Wireless Adapter V2 for the TV, and Intel Wireless Adapter AC 8265 that supports wireless display for my PC. PotPlayer can output Red-Cyan, Green-Magenta and Amber-blue (Dubois). And the Dubois is the best because others suffer color loss. To me, I can't tell the difference from a passive 3D TV which I saw from a show room. The tactic is to turn up the TV's brightness by 30% till it looked washed to the naked eyes. When I flipped down my analglyph shader on my glasses the color is rich and the depth is great even if viewed at an slanted angle. The sound is great too because it is from my Realtec 7.1 channel to the Miscrosoft Wireless Adapter on the TV's HDMI port, and I have connected my TV to my HiFi reciever too. It's only a $130 enhancement work, namely 2 adapters and light anaglyph shaders with clips for glassess. :good:
Need to mention that I have 2 video cards, namely, the Intel HD 4000 integrated with my Z77 Extreme4 motherboard which is doing the Wireless Display while my PC Monitor is attached to the HDMI port of my other video card Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050i on PCI slot which does not support Wireless Display. If I connect my PC monitor to Intel HD 4000 I can only extend my desktop to the TV. And, if I connect my PC monitor to Nvidia I can sync my PC screen to my TV instead of extending the desktop only. To play an anaglyph 3D movie on TV screen one need screen synchronisation but not as an extension of the PC desktop. When the TV is playing the Potplayer 3D movie both the TV and PC can see the movie but only the TV has the sound, the PC does not play the sound. When I switch the TV into another HDMI port where the Wireless Display Adapter is not attached, the TV stops playing the sound but the PC plays the sound again.

Ah I see, the topic is to play Anaglph videos on a normal LCD which Easyrb3d player does well from an Android TV Box.
But I was talking about being able to play SBS and OU video formats on a normal LCD TV Screen. Sorry, my fault.
I use an old MX Pro Android TV box KitKat 4.4. Then I download dime 3D player and merge my movies. Works fine on my 65 inch TV.

[Q][A510]Video output switching

Hello experts.
Just wanna how to switch to differents outputs when I connect my tablet to tv or another material.
Actually, when I branch my hdmi to TV, the output is displayed on both screen but I want to show only on TV
It will save my battery and I would do something else on my tablet while the movie is running on TV
Like a multi task output
Should I look for an application or it is not possible?
Thank you.

[Q] Media Streamer / HTPC / Media Centre

Hi folks,
I am very confused regarding the world of media centres / htpc's / media streamers.... so confused in fact that I don't even know the right name to call them.
Anyway at the moment I have loads of videos on my HTC one that I want to be able to watch easily on my TV. Obviously my TV has HDMI and perhaps not so obviously a USB which it can play videos through but it isn't a smart tv.
Since my HTC One only has 32GB then I would like to be able to transfer videos onto the HDD (via my wi-fi network so either plugged into router or into another device) and then play from that or if not then to play directly from my phone onto my TV.
I have been looking at the Now TV box with Plex on and also the Raspberry Pi with XBMC on but I am not sure if either of these can do what I want them to do. Does anyone on here have a home cinema setup along those lines that can advise.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Android TV box/stick to stream from laptop

Hello,
I'm new here so please pardon my 'newbiness' .
I've been searching around for an affordable tv box/stick that would enable me to:
1. Stream my laptop's desktop on my Smart TV. My idea is to use a wireless keyboard and mouse and do some work on my laptop, but sitting on the couch and looking my Smart TV.
2. Stream my xbmc from my laptop in HD quality to my Smart TV. I would love to stream Movies and TV series from my laptop's XBMC to my Smart Tv in HD quality without any lap or errors.
Is this doable with a TV stick or TV box that is affordable?
Thank you for your time and looking forward to your replays.
Kind Regards,
Luka
I am pretty new to TV streaming etc and am having a lot of fun with a cheap UBOX I bought. reading what you say though suggests to me that you don't need to spend any money at all!
if you are happy using your laptop in the way that you say (and assuming it has an hdmi slot) -why not simply run an HDMI cable to the TV and clone the screens?
perhaps I'm being dumb here, but methinks you are complicating matters -
all the many cheap boxes one can get will simply plug into your tv, pick up your wifi, run kodi etc and away you go -
so why bother with the laptop at all?
Also what do you class as "cheap"? What's your budget?
just these simple usages,u ve got 2 ways,1st,buy a wifi display stick,2nd,hdmi direct plug
