i recently got a samsung galaxy s3 and i decided to use my old nexus s as a dedicated music player. i was wondering if there was a mod that can put google play music controls on the navigation bar... i tried aokp jb build 1 but they didn't have that. can anybody help me out? or can i request this to happen? that would be really great.. thanks

Samsung Music Player. IDK how you'll get it though when you don't have a samsung device, since the notification bar music controller is part of the touchwiz UI.
I can't get Widgetsoid to show things in the pull-down menu..
Try CM7
The latest nightly builds of CM7 gives you the power to put widgets in the pull down bar to control your music. If you flash a cm7 rom and you go into cyanogenmod settings, you'll find them under 'widgets' there somewhere. So it would not matter what music player you have. It will control it for you. I hope this helps.

It didn't work on my Samsung SGS. Maybe if I start a music player first, it would work. But in that case, the default player is just better (for its controls, not in terms of overall features).
I really don't know why no one has tried to post the SGS default music player. It does not have all those features like PlayerPro, but having controls in the notification area (as well as a nice lock screen widget) really is great. If only it could be made to only play songs by folder...
better music player does this i also found on here if you search for the samsung music widget works pretty nice too!

I recently went from Onecosmic's port 3 to 4.2. I found out that i couldn't play any music ( like game music, but also regualar music ). I've my sound enabled for when i touch something, and than I do have sound, so I know it isn't the speaker.

I have been using google play music as my default player and i kinda like it. But recently it has been very strangely.
While playing music when i'm on the now playing screen, if i rotate my tab or lock it and then unlock it, the time of seek bar becomes --:--
and when i try to use the seek bar the song restarts, else the seek bar works normally.
I have a p3100 running cm 10.1 rc2 and simple cyanogen kernel....
And the problem also is in my phones google play music, which is still not updated to the new play music( one which came yesterday after the i/o) so i can guess this is not a rom related or device related problem( my phone is galaxy s running xylon custom rom 4.2.2)
I tried clearing the cache and data and even fix permissions from recovery, cuz play music is a system app, but i had no luck.
Now i'm out of ideas and any help is appreciated.

edit : solved to remove the apk using no bloat and reinstall from market then fix permissions

My name is Nicolas and actually I am Using the Android 4.3 B.U.X created by Tigrouzen I think .. lol . I want to know if it is able to re install the stock Samsung music player with the 5.0 channel for Wave 2 on these custom Roms?? Because as everyone knows, there's no better Music player like this one even Poweramp, Maven 3D an so on... I tried all of the above but I still booting to my old BADA to listen to my music which is not so good for the battery because it discharge suddenly when booting back to bada and because I love so much to use android.
I know it s possible because last time I saw someone posting a stock music player of S3 Touchwiz for S2 devices. I know its not easy but I also know that for you guys nothing is impossible. So If someone can help to know how to install it or someone with a better Idea your welcome Thanks
Just install any other player. There are much plenty of them, that even better the stock Samsung music player.

I'd love the same. It recently has been made compatible with Android auto so I keep going back to the Samsung note 10 plus instead of using the oneplus 7 pro which I really love. I hope someone can make it happen but won't hold my breath.
I use Pi Music Player and paid to remove their ads forever. Great music player and works when screen is locked. I can also use Oneplus screen gestures to skip, forward and pause track and the screen continues to stay black.
