I'd love the same. It recently has been made compatible with Android auto so I keep going back to the Samsung note 10 plus instead of using the oneplus 7 pro which I really love. I hope someone can make it happen but won't hold my breath.
I use Pi Music Player and paid to remove their ads forever. Great music player and works when screen is locked. I can also use Oneplus screen gestures to skip, forward and pause track and the screen continues to stay black.

Samsung Music Player. IDK how you'll get it though when you don't have a samsung device, since the notification bar music controller is part of the touchwiz UI.
I can't get Widgetsoid to show things in the pull-down menu..
Try CM7
The latest nightly builds of CM7 gives you the power to put widgets in the pull down bar to control your music. If you flash a cm7 rom and you go into cyanogenmod settings, you'll find them under 'widgets' there somewhere. So it would not matter what music player you have. It will control it for you. I hope this helps.

It didn't work on my Samsung SGS. Maybe if I start a music player first, it would work. But in that case, the default player is just better (for its controls, not in terms of overall features).
I really don't know why no one has tried to post the SGS default music player. It does not have all those features like PlayerPro, but having controls in the notification area (as well as a nice lock screen widget) really is great. If only it could be made to only play songs by folder...

i recently got a samsung galaxy s3 and i decided to use my old nexus s as a dedicated music player. i was wondering if there was a mod that can put google play music controls on the navigation bar... i tried aokp jb build 1 but they didn't have that. can anybody help me out? or can i request this to happen? that would be really great.. thanks
is there a way (via mod or ROM) that i can have google play music like the note 4, have the whole screen with whatever song you're playing? i currently hate the one on the N5. thanks in advance lol
I am converting an old phone into a MP3 player and I am looking for a launcher that will display a music app (full screen) on start up, similar to the Fiio X7's pure music mode. I don't want to just add a widget on a home screen as I have limited RAM/battery life and want to dedicate as much as possible to the music. Is this possible or could I port one from a dedicated Android media player to work on my device?

go for the lower devices with gingerbread installed. they have a build in music player home screen and lock screen feature
Did you get anywhere with this project? I'm looking to do the same thing... I'd like to get around Android's upconversion when using a USB DAC... Currently I use UAPP Pro which is great for locally stored and streaming Tidal, but I still have to use the Tidal app for stored Todal files and that uses the Android output and hence oversampling.

Hi, can i activate "next track" on music app with squeeze when the screen is off? By default play and pause are possible. The beta mode function works when the screen is on and the app is open. Thanks
With stock Edge Sense, you can go as far as open default music player and play/pause, currently no next track function., but maybe you want to check Edge Sense Plus (you can find it in Play Store), it add some functionality to Edge Sense.
From the review it seems good, but I don't use it so I don't know how far it can go.
