P6810 HK ICS Build & Bluetooth - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the HK P6810. Since upgrading to the HK ICS build I noticed that my tablet no longer auto-connects to my previously paired Bluetooth speaker when I power it on. I now have to manually connect in under Bluetooth settings every time I want to use it. I didn't see any advanced settings related to this. It was great to finally get ICS, but I really miss this feature.
I also noticed some lag or interruption during music playback with Play Music (music stored locally, not streaming) at least once per use. It's just a random blip--nothing constant or unbearable, but my music never seemed to skip a beat with stock Gingerbread.
Anyone else notice these issues with Bluetooth on ICS? Am I perhaps missing something? I was hoping there was a workaround or maybe that other regional ICS builds don't have these issues and that I could flash one of them.

same as me, very annoying and I downgrade back to 3.2. I did a search on Internet because of the Bluetooth hardware incompatibility issue.

Thanks for the response. I thought of downgrading but it's really convenient having chrome browser and bookmark syncing--really the only feature in ICS I was dying to have.
I'd assume others have this issue also. Unless no one uses bluetooth speakers or headsets with their tab? Either that other regional builds don't have this problem.
Would very much appreciate more feedback in regard to ICS bluetooth experience from other users.

Well, I found there is update on 2012-09-25, as there is download of latest firmware after I open Kies and the version number is v12.09.25.
Let me try if they fixed those issue.
Thanks!

one week with my bluetooth earpiece and no problems so far.

[Q] What is Galaxy S bluetooth bug fix in GB 2.3.5?

The Wikipedia Android Version History says in GB 2.3.5 they 'Fixed Bluetooth bug on Samsung Galaxy S'.
Can anyone relate the details of this BT bug fix? Just wondering how much emphasis i should give (if any) when choosing a rom as to whether its based on 2.3.5.
Still updates for Galaxy S?
I have no idea what the problem is... but this is interesting since this is specific to the Galaxy S and I had in mind that no more update would be apply to this phone... Did Google made that fix to convince Samsung to continue keeping their phone up to date?
The maybe fixed one bug
and created another...
Since upgraded to 2.3.x (4 or 5) I have major bluetooth issues
After reboot, phone connects to car kit and conversation is heard.
However, after leaving the car and comming back, phone seems to connect to handsfree, but audio (both a2dp and mono) is not heard (not from phone and not from car's speakers...)
Serious issue!!!
I would guess it's the voice command thing. This wasn't working in Froyo, but it's working now.

Car Bluetooth problem ICS/JB (WORK AROUND SOLUTION)

Issue for me is car bluetooth, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting like every minute, the whole thing just does not work properly.
BUT SIMPLE SOLUTION FOR ANY ROM< I MEAN ANY.
Just plug your phone to a charger in the car and thats it. it prevents deep sleep and it will not drain you battery as it's charging.
!!!Suggestion, if you have a usb slot in the car, use it to charge the phone, as cigarette lighter charger most likely will create a wake lock that will prevent your phone going to DP after you exit the car.
Res.
I appreciate all your efforts.
I'm one of those with bluetooth issues only on UCLD2 when connecting to my JVC car stereo to play Pandora or other Internet radio. I have not tested or used MP3 stuff.
I tried Mohans ROM, then update, then the beats audio, then the UCALC4 kernel. All in that order, testing each time. None worked for me.
Thanks though
I've also tried the bluetooth fixes 1 & 2 from Seanz's ROM from last week. Have not tried the 10 version yet. But some others are saying it didn't resolve this particular issue either.

Yep, U10 does not work on my phone. I just don't want to take away anything from Sean as he does great work, so can't say 100% it does not work, it just does not for me in this case.
I believe you are correct on the culprit being the music player.
I have been on Sean's Roms (update 9 for a few weeks and then upgraded to 10 whenever it came out). I stream to a Ford Sync system (2010) and I have not had any problems. 10, in particular, seems great. I use the phone handsfree via bt and stream music (Slacker radio) to and fro work. Also been using btooth inside the house to stream Slacker to a speaker system. No problems there either. But I have NOT used the music player app at all...

See I am scared to think it's FORD soft. that is the problem, as that would be so much harder to fix, they just came up with an update and new one is not coming. And it worked on Sean's ROM up until Update 7, which base of his are you using the GMAIL/no limit or exchange server one?
Also it has something to do with Music Player or files on the Leak, as sometimes it messes with USB input music and cant read the USB, and I disconnect the phone ant USB starts working.
Have you received a USB from FORD recently to update the software?

Interesting Find:

It supports KJ2, so maybe ICS is a problem(( But at the same time it supports ICS on other devices.

I think the usb update mailed for Ford is for later models (or mine hasn't arrived yet). For the 2010 there was only one update showing (Sync My Ride) and it was already installed when I purchased the truck.
No question the Ford Sync is "twitchy". My former phone (Atrix) would disconnect the btooth intermittently when streaming Slacker and would skip, often. I haven not (knock on wood) had these problems and I use the steering wheel control to skip songs.

yea my Edge is 2011, I got the update like a month ago, but everything was working fine.
Well I hope it's the leak issue, or I'll have to go back to GB, or run a Sean's older ICS with no deep sleep, can;t not have phone in the car and have music mess up my USB.
Since EMBRYO was mentioned. Anyways, I can only comment on FORD Sync (since the other one drives the edge). Make sure you have the latest Sync Update that rolled out couple of months ago (I believe it is v 3.2.2, I will have to double check). I have had zero issues, connecting with BT as fars as voice calling goes (of course on EMBRYO 2.3), but then I don't use the Car daily. With Embryo 2.3, you should be able to send text message not that useful unless you use the prebuilt templates, that comes with the UCLD2 base. I am looking into what it takes to get full MAP support in the next update, no promises, I need time. Also, I have not streamed music through so can't say. Also, the device recognizes PAN BT tethering, but the sync craps out, I am suspecting it is SYNC issue.

Wow, much appreciated mohan, I do drive the Ford Edge it has SYNC on it, they call it My Touch or something. Is that different then in your car? I did get the update on USB and it's installed, not sure which version. I am making an appointment for the dealer to reinstall it as well. I found a Sync PDF
The problem is when I connect to it, the BT Stereo has issue it does not work or if it works usb does not work, then pretty much the phone disconnects and connect all the time, every like 1-2 min.
I would defiantly flash your ROM right now would you recommend UCLD2 or the other Kernel for this? no matter what files I delete in root or how I rename the phone, BT Stereo still connect to the name of the phone I had a while back. How can I just format everything and do a fresh install of your ROM, I mean like everything? or that would mass it up?
I am even willing to go to Stock GB tar and then root and do everything again.
I found this PDF, Ford Sync only supports KJ2 on skyrocket, have no idea what that means
http://www.nsapp.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com/sync/usEN/sync_us_EN_iop_2_00.pdf
Also, I hope I did not do anything wrong here or offender anyone by Mentioning Embryo as a possible fix.

Possibly, but not for everyone.
In my case, I can feel the phone crashing DURING the initial bluetooth connection to my car stereo. The phone actually vibrates a few times while I'm setting up the pair connection.
But it stays connected until I start up iHeart Radio or Pandora or any other Internet Radio.
I don't use Music Player for anything and have never tested it either.
I'm having a similar problem connecting my phone's Bluetooth to my JVC stereo. When I turn on bluetooth, the phone is fine, but once I pair it (media and phone), it vibrates, works for about 10-15 seconds, then restarts the bluetooth. When it restarts, it is not paired by default, but if I re-pair only the media to the JVC, it works perfectly. It seems to be a problem with using bluetooth for the phone.
I've been using Sky ICS (through update 10), and none of the fixes posted before have worked (including freezing the stock music app). And for the record, Embryo 2.3 has the exact same problem with my handset and stereo.
EDIT: Correction above. I was able to get media to work once using the method described above, but I was not able to repeat this.
I can confirm that Sky ICS UCLC4 4.2-A-9 solves all of the Bluetooth problems that I have been having with both phone and media pairing to my JVC stereo. Note that this is the outdated UCLC4 ROM. I haven't found any UCLD2 ROMs that fix the BT issues for me yet, but I hope one of them does soon.

yep, that's the case the first leak is ok, but it has it's own problems.
This thread specified only Second Leak.
It's been confirmed that if you follow mohan's instructions to do a fresh install in Embryo 2.3 and I mean oneclick and the rest, everything will work great on UCLD2. I have not done it yet myself, no time, but soon hopefully today.

IT"S A BUG on all three leaks.
You may not experience it at all, it ma only happen once in a while, or every minute, it can fix itself for some time.
Nothing is possible, just need to hope Rogers Official Release will work. (when it comes out)

Bluetooth connect/disconnect/connect - Audi OEM BT

Searched for this problem but couldn't find anything directly related. Is there an advanced search option on the forum?
I just got a Samsung S2 LTE/Skyrocket on the Rogers network here in Canada and love the phone so far. Only problem is when I have the phone in the car, the Bluetooth connects properly when I fire the car up, but it disconnects after a short period of time (2-4 minutes)...then it may reconnect on its own...then disconnects minutes later.
The car is a 2008 Audi RS4 which is basically the same bluetooth system used on the more popular A4, (2005-2008) so hopefully someone else has some input.
Initial thoughts
1. phone software - Maybe the phone needs a software update - this exact scenario happened on a blackberry I had a few years ago and updating the blackberry's system software fixed the issue. There is no 'firmware update' possible for the car for the record. The phone is running GingerBread 2.3.5
2. bluetooth/sleep/battery saver settings - as I've only had an Android for about 5 minutes, this is likely where I'm missing something. Is there a setting on the phone that puts bluetooth to sleep to save battery power? I've not downloaded any apps to interfere with power management yet etc. so I'm just on OEM settings.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
This is more of a development forum than anything, so most of the folks are running custom ROM's here. But you'll still find knowledgeable folks when it comes to stock ROM.
I would try going to settings and at the bottom of the menu is a software update option. Some folks are getting 2.3.6 rolled out to them so it couldn't hurt to check and see if it's available for you right now.
Otherwise, you might try un-pairing the bluetooth connection, reboot and then try making a new pair?
Good luck.
To OP, sorry I don't have a solution for you. But I gotta tell ya, the bluetooth on this phone is pretty crappy, I'm hoping the ICS will fix a lot of Bluetooth bugs. I have an issue connecting with my Bluetooth Music Reciever (which is plugged into the AUX). I have a 2008 MB C300 and the Bluetooth wors about 95% of the time.
By the way Nice ride. RS4, same engine as the Audi R8.

thanks for nothing guys. this place sucks
just messing. Sorry, I didn't quite grasp that this was the premier developer forum vs. users shooting the **** about their phones. A buddy referred me over here when I told him about the problem.
Yeah, I've heard a few complaints about the bluetooth similar to yours Jamolah. Some guys complain that it only connects once in a while, so 95% of the time is pretty good! Mine connects right away every time which is nice...but the constant disconnect/connect/disconnect routine gets real old, and results in me turning bluetooth off. Unfortunately then you have to turn it on to use it etc.
Anyway, I'll keep trying for a solution to my seemingly unique problem and will see about an update to ICS when its available. Quite a different world, the android world (vs. blackberry or iPhone where everything's so closed and limited and simple).
Thanks for the input guys.
Hi,
if you keep your android running with the navigation app (preventing standby) do you still experience disconnects? If this helps you can try my app "BluetoothKeepalive" from the market, it automatically prevents android standby when being connected via bluetooth.
Regards
...Alex
I am pleased to report that the phone now works flawlessly with my Audi's bluetooth.
The solution? Ice Cream Sandwich / 4.0, the latest operating system available for my phone.
I upgraded the phone to ICS, and it immediately began co-operating with the bluetooth.

OPO Pandora In-Car HU Controls

Hi,
I have a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS DVD Receiver installed in my car and it has the Pandora app on it. This allows it to display the artist name, song, gives the ability to thumbs up/down from the touch screen itself and is useful.
I was able to use this with my Nexus 5 but when my OPO is connected via bluetooth this isn't available.
Does anyone know what the difference between the N5 and OPO is in regards to being able to launch the pandora app on my headunit?
Looks like this feature is called Pandora Radio Ready.
Thank you.

Which ROM are you running? I have the AVH-X2700BS and running CM11S (XNPH44S) on my OPO, both bluetooth audio and Pandora control works decently well. I almost exclusively use Pandora over bluetooth audio and typically with about every 5 or 6th song change the song info will not change, but upon switching to the next song it will. If that makes sense. I've have no issues with Pandora control over bluetooth as well although i've had very little usage .
Now, the reason i ask which ROM you are using is because i recent upgraded to CM12 (YNG1TAS17L) in hopes that it would fix or mitigate the touch screen issues i've been having lately. After updating to that, when i stream Pandora over bluetooth i get no song info and the controls don't work at all. I did not try the Pandora control.
Question for you: Do you contacts sync properly with the HU? My contacts say they sync yet there's nothing under phonebook but recent calls does show the names and numbers properly.
I have a Z150BH. Just tried Pandora via bluetooth for the first time today. Pandora seems to work as designed, and controls work fine. It was just a short drive so will put more time into the eval and get back any meaningful changes of thoughts.
What I would like to do, however, is 'cast' my screen to the Pioneer unit. Thinking a wifi weather, then WIFI direct ought to work, with a Netear HD adapter.

I'm running stock CM12S but it hasn't worked with 11 or 12. My contacts and the dialer sync perfectly and when I use the "bluetooth" function on my headunit I can stream and control the phone fine but what I'm trying to use is the app.
For instance in this screenshot:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/PUSA/Images/Product Images/Car/AVH-X3500BHS_angle1.jpg
The bluetooth icon on the top right works fine, but the pandora icon second from the right on the top row does not even light up as an option for me to use (where it did when I connected my Nexus 5).
This is what I want to be able to use:

I think you have 3 options...
1) Wait for a possible fix in an upcoming update.
2) Find and flash the bluetooth stack from CM11 (not sure if this is possible or available)
3) Go back to CM11.
I'm not a robot! Thanks, captcha.

Is it a bluetooth stack thing that prevents some headunits from seeing certain phones over others? (Such as Nexus 5 vs OPO).
I'm not sure if that's a BT stack issue or incompatible protocol, etc. Maybe someone else with more knowledge can chime in on this one.
Interesting, looking at the phones on phonearena it looks like the N5 has v4.0 and A2DP whereas the OPO only has 4.0.
I wonder if A2DP is the culprit here.

No "Media Audio" option when connected to my car by bluetooth

Hi All,
I'm having trouble with Bluetooth on my v10. I've looked through the forums but haven't seen any people with an issue quite like mine.
My car is a Hyundai and the radio was updated to the latest software about 6 months ago. The phone will pair fine and works perfectly for phone calls but I can't get it to play audio over bluetooth. In the bluetooth menu the "Media Option" check box is not visible at all. The particularly weird part is that while the audio still comes out of the phone the rest of the bluetooth features will work, I can change the song with the radio controls and the Artist/Title are displayed on the radio.
It works great with my soundbar, alarm clock, portable speaker, and my moms Dodge truck. That would lead me to believe it's the car however I never had any issues with my gs5 for a year and a half. I tried it with two different iphones and my roommates G4 and all of them worked perfectly.
My phone is an h900 on 5.1.1 rooted(had the same issue before root).
I'm at a loss here. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have a bug report w/ google on this. Please take a look and chime in to get them to fix this. https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=221322&thanks=221322&ts=1472583426

So google is blaming samsung of course so I have an email into them. Their chat was useless.
Your device is using Samsung's heavily customised version of Android which this website has no visibility of so cannot support. You need to speak to Samsung for user support and issues with their devices and their software. Thanks.
