Here is a youtube video of the process. If the youtube is unavailable the directions are below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkEaJvXV6Uk
If the link is corrupt Follow these instructions
Download
System backup apk:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1245330&d=1344276357
and
o4xr.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1297942&d=1346603576
Now that you have those, drop the apk into your lg directory. I chose the download folder.
Install the apk through a file manager app, I like Astro File Management.
Next unzip the o4xr.zip onto c: drive.
Last, open command promp. Type cmd in start menu search bar.
- In command prompt type "cd.."
- type "cd.." again
- keep doing it till all you have is c:\>
- Type "cd o4xr"
- you should now see "c:\o4xr>
- Set up your phone to do a restart. Get to the last prompt before the phone restarts and go back to command prompt.
- type "root"
- if your phone doesn't not restart automatically within 5 seconds, hit restart.
Now check out your apps. You should see SuperSU.
You're done. Congrats!

Who is your carrier? I just bought this 10.03.12 on Metro and the applications won't even get in Alphabetical order.
Is there a ROM or something for this. It is rooted and there are so many things I am not able to do that I was able to dso with a Galaxy S2. ( my G4ET was stolen so looked at this one)
I am sure the phone is pretty ok but the Metro behind it just Wreaks.

need original ROM

I am rooted and the process described worked almost as well as it should, except using the run command. I just went to those parts and double clicked them instead. BUT, i have a problem. I also flashed the rom given in the guide because of a brick issue deleting bloatware instead of freezing all of it. Now my phone is not the same. Contacts dont have pics imported from fb anymore and other things like making my phone discoverable dont work like they did at all. Its just not the same phone. Does anyone have an original Metro PCS Motion ROM? I wanna go back and start over now that I know what to do. My phone always ran at 1.5 ghz anyway. Please help!

This has s4 not s3 CPU. Benchmarks better than sgs3.

What exactly does any of that have to do with an original ROM from metro and how it functions? And even if the cpu benchmarks are "better" as you say, what exactly are you referring to? Is it the rescue rom, the 1.5 ghz kernal, or the original rom with the phone "as is" from Metro? I don't follow what you're comparing at all, nor does anyone else that happens across this thread! It's an LG MOTION, NOT A SAMSUNG ANYTHING!!! To make it clear, I bricked my phone after rooting it by deleting bloatware (instead of freezing it). I rescued it with another software that isn't the stock Metro ROM. I have since recieved 2 software updates, and had to re-root each time after installation because OTA won't update when rooted. Only an LG flash of the new software works. Maybe now I'm closer to the original (or better) than I was after the initial fix, but I don't know if I'm getting propper updates for the original Metro software (or the flashed fix of an identical, yet other carrier phone's ROM). It may have something to do with why my phone is sluggish compared to first day and many mods later. Also, they claim 22mb/s (max) in Clearwater/Tampa, FL. I get a max of 4 on a clear night in the middle of my street. My WiFi does at least 10 on a lesser signal.Does anyone have any answers to this bs? Well, I hope I'm not the only one with these questions. And maybe someone else will find a helpful answer from here on out. (Unlike the last guy's remark)

I'm looking into getting this phone as well as Sprint fees are becoming ridiculous. I'm online searching for roms as well but I'm not seeing any.

Any updates on this? switched from virgin mobile because the original htc one is a POS.
an updated android version on the lg motion would be killer, and maybe a resolution change?

Galaxy S just a label?

i was wondering. what exactly makes a Galaxy S device a Galaxy s device? i hope i made sense there...
because on twitter GalaxySsupport replied to a question i had originally asked to Samsungsupport about the infuse.
more or less. there are many phones named galaxy from samsung. then the galaxy s line came out, then the galaxy s conntinuum. then the galaxy indulge on metro pcs. then the i9003. galaxy s had a narrow line of hardware at first then they played with screens now the whole hardware profile can vary. the infuse is more galaxy s than the galaxy indulge, or the i9003. now they have the galaxy s 2 and will soon have the galaxy s 2 mini and galaxy s+ which will supposedly be based on a quallcom cpu.. so although the infuse has different gps hardware and mhl the radio is likely the same as the t959v sgs4g and is otherwise a galaxy s. samsung said it doesnt have the hardware requirements to be called a galaxy s when asked but it only seems to have hardware improvements. the audio chip is the same, the processor is the same, other phones called galaxy dont meet those requirements, and the phone is also capable of running gps and the camera while making phone calls, the sgs cant do either. im not really sure what game samsung is playing here but it seems galaxy s has been demoted to a label and att maybe didnt want that label because of the bugs and lack of support people think it had.
It seems to be a just a label. I mean this is way batter than any galaxy device out there. Poeple all up on dual core (I was one of them), what exactly do you need so much power for? How fast are you typing that you need a phone to keep up with you. The only phone that does require it would he the atrix because of its lapdock. But even then dual core seems to be a way to drain your battery if you don't know how to set up the phone correctly. And Samsung directed my question to the Galaxy S twitter account. I still think this phone meets and exceeds the requirements for a Galaxy S device.

I was checking the Samsung Galaxy S website
i have these comparisons
Samsung Galaxy S 4G:
Android Platform: 2.2
Display: 4.00" Super AMOLED
Camera: 5.0 MP rear VGA front
Processor: 1.0 Mhz
Samsung Infuse 4G:
Android Platform: 2.2
Display: 4.50" Super AMOLED Plus
Camera: 8.0 MP rear 1.2MP front
Processor: 1.2Ghz
and this device is not capable of being a Galaxy S device?
i think this phone has been ripped from it title.
multi core is hard to utilize fully(has to do with the way things are processed and applications are written) but the step from one to two can feel like a big difference in some situations. any lag caused by background services can disappear because there is a non busy processor core ready to go. the lag difference can give the perception of performance even if the actual speed something is processed at is not much faster. if a dual core comes out that has great battery life and no heat issues im sure it will be great. dual core doesnt throw me off that much, what gets me however is they are already talking about 4 core chips for phones! please figure out a way to make the architecture smaller or make 3d architecture like they have been talking about for years so we can get more hz and less power usage. it cant be easy to parallelize applications with simple functions that are written in java.
multi core is great for benchmarking but beyond 2 cores i dont see the point on a small screen and one is perfectly acceptable.
Atrix dual core. Lag and heat central on that phone.
Sent from my Infuse 4G.
My atrix got very hot as well. I haven't noticed any speed difference between my atrix and the infuse. I think overall the infuse is a far superior device.
i was speaking in theory about the lag. blur is a piece of crap. that and locked bootloaders are why i wont buy it. i dont mind limited development as long as i can get things the way i want them, lack of ability to flash roms seems like too much of a hinderance in getting the phone setup the way i want it. i will look at the attain, but with the audio issues im may wait for a while before i buy another phone.
I think I'm pretty much set with the Infuse.

Even then with Dual core, blur should be able to run really snappy.
but it doesn't. only real thing that i see dual core has to provide are better graphics in games.

the infuse gpu can keep up with some kernel tweaks and api support for tegra based games. the sgs renders some things better(not sure if that's true in a technical sense but certain benchmarks look more natueral) and in most cases can run similar frame rates, some overclocking and the sgx power vr540 gpu is a beast. dual core helps in games that are written for dual core especially if it uses tegra2 specific APIs, chainfire's chainfire 3d may help with that situation.
and well dual core would only help with lag caused by multi tasking. a laggy launcher on a single core may be just as laggy on a dual core(unless it is multi threaded), but a snappy launcher may lag if there is a background service running on a single core but is not likely lag to on a dual core even with background services. i guess i wasnt specific enough.
i guess im only reinforcing the idea that dual core is marketing nonsense because unless you are a multi tasking junkie you wont notice a bit of difference 90% of the time.

a large portion of the boot process is probably in one large thread making dual core useless untill the ui starts. though having the core ready would mean you could start playing with things while the ui is still loading making the wait for everything to load less annoying.

well the attain isnt tested yet, maybe i should have said sgs2. if the attain is the same as the sgs2 international supercurio wasnt very happy with the audio, and audio is important to me. it has a yamaha chip not a wolfson. not that yamaha is bad but it appears that the chip may be faulty or something. also wolfson was very cooperative in providing drivers and sources for supercurio's voodoo project. im sure it actually sounds good with the exception of the noise level. there are some clicking or popping issues from what i understand. i use in ear headphones and im sure id be able t to hear it.

help me out to buy a good phone?

hey all i am planning to buy a new android phone, and my history is a wildfire(cm7.1) which i sold, and i am currently owning an htc hd7( with xboxmod rom). and i am not that much happy with windows 7 phone( and cant find any android rom for it).
so.......
well i am planning to sell hd7 and buy an android phone.
i am confused with a lot of android phones around, so i decided to ask you people.
my specifations are..
1) hdpi screen 800*480
2) 1 or 1.2 ghz chipset( qualacom or tegra??) with a min 512 mb ram
3)good gpu,( i dont play that much, but like to make apps and graphics faster)
4) blue tooth 2 or 2.1 with a2dp.
5)some internal memory( 512mb - 2gb range) and mor than 8gb external micro sd support.
6) wifi b/g/(if i can get then n too)
7) good hsdpa speed( i mean 3g)
8)and all sensors needed for android device( we can omit gyro)
9) 5mp cam with 720p video rec( i have sonyericsson c905 for photo, lol 8mp cybershot phone).
10) a good battery life( like 4-5 hours calling/browsing in 2g or 3g, 5-8 hrs video/audio playback, and i really care about audio quality through headphones, it needs to be good)
these are my hardware spec, now my software spec are..
1) i should be able to load honeycomb( if a rom is available for the device), and may be upto icecream sandwich( little overkill??)
2) easily bootloader unlockable and rootable( i dont want to pay for it)
3) i need the best roms to be loaded into it( like cm, miui, etc and i never care for stock roms, as we can flash anything to it.)
4) multi bootable( if i get some thing like hd2 or so??, ) well its not a need, but if i can have it, then i am ok.
i like to have a htc( top priority), sonyericsson, or samsung device. well probably a phone with top spec in a middle class budget ( some thing that cost like htc desire S.). nop i am not going after latest workstations with tegra 2 cpu 1.2 or 1.4 ghz. which costs a lot money
what are your options?? does it worth to by the "old legend" HTC HD2? or you have better options?
Which problem is with HD7 ??
I'd recommend the Galaxy S II, it meets the majority of your requirements and should get an ICS official update soon
Galaxy S II my man. Everything you need. It will be with T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T.
1. 2.3 Gingerbread OS, up-gradable to ISC
2. 4.3 Super AMOLED screen with 1080p recording
3. 1.2GHz dual-core
4. 18 hr talk time battery
5. 1Gb Ram, 32Gb Internal memory with up to 32Gb memory slot
and more...
Click the thank you button and show me some love and that I helped.
Good luck
all about s2.. but dudes i am personaly an htc fan, though i also accept sonyericsson. but not thatmuch used with samsung.. coz, in the hardware respect, i have seen that htc have much more classy finish and are quite problem free.. also samsung is a newer in android / smartphone market, where as htc has proven their lagency in smatphone market. so pls pick an htc device. what about dezire hd?
I would suggest the HTC EVO 3D or the HTC sensation XL all the way....
If you want to save some money, then I would go for the Desire S.

Oh! Ok, I also I like the HTC's android devices. The latest and fastest HTC are.
1. HTC Rezound (Verizon)
2. HTC Vivid (AT&T)
3. HTC Amaze (T-mobile)
4. HTC Evo Design (Sprint)
These are the latest and fastest with alot of memory HTC phones.
Take the Galaxy S 2 or the Galaxy Nexus. For a cheap and good for modding take the galaxy si9000

[Q] Purchasing Question

Dear Sensation users,
i am planning to purchase sensation due to these features
- Can be upgrade-able to 4.0.4 pure ics(non-sense)
- can be overclocked upto 1.6ghz
- can be battery life improvable
- can be gaming machine
Does it is worth to purchase Htc sensation ?
to all of that yes
I have some more question,
Does its rooting process is complex ?
I saw two phones.Sensation and sensation 4G,what are their differences ?

if you follow carefully the procedure you will not have any problems
only patience for the wire trick
no differences at all.just only 4G
I bought mine in November and have been happy with it. FWIW, I have a stable overclock at 1782 MHz on core 0 and 1728 MHz on core 1. Mine was already S-OFF and rooted when I bought it, so I didn't need to mess with that. Unlocking, updating firmware and whatnot was simple. Mine also came with an Anker battery and no stock battery, so I'm not sure how they compare. Battery life with the Anker is fine for my needs and better than my last phone. There are two things I can think of that I wasn't totally prepared for when I bought the phone. One is that the speaker is pretty ****ty. There are instructions here on how to increase the volume to a more reasonable level, but the speaker is still pretty lousy. Also, these phones get dust trapped under the screen. I can't see it in a dimly lit room, but it is noticeable and a bit annoying under bright lighting. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

What about its gaming performance on CM9/10.1 ?
gaming
The gaming is pretty awesome. I would suggest rooting the phone and flashing CyanogenMod 10.1 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115520 )
Android 4.04 may shore some signs of lag, but with android 4.2.2, the lag is gone ( thanks to project butter )
I would suggest 4.2.2 for gaming. Also, I can over clock my phone to 1966 Mhz.

Does its CPU is will be fry ?
cpu overclock
Sorry. Its not 1966 MHz but 1944 MHz. I never had an issue with the CPU being too hot. I have the app setCPU installed on my phone and that's how you over clock it to 1944 mhz. You never really need your processor at that speed for games though. I usually set my CPU at a max speed of about 1600 MHz because it uses a lot of battery if you set your CPU too high..
Sensation users,
How was the stability of the phone ? (such as touch, performance, gaming etc)
Honestly, I own a Sensation and it was a great phone when it was released. But nowdays, I find it a bit hard to understand why you'd still recommend it to anyone.
-It most likely will never get Jelly Bean from HTC
-the hardware doesnt get any younger
-if you're unlucky you get a device with the dust-under-screen problem

I would rate the touch screen 4.8/5 because it rarely glitches
Performance 4.2/5 its good enough for me except for the ppi and video playback
Gaming 4.5/5 the games perform well...occasional lag
Overall i would rate the phone 4.5/5. It's a nice phone (one of the best when it came out) but nowadays it's not a tier 1 phone. There are phones like the Samsung galaxy s4 and the HTC one (m7) that outclass this phone.
The biggest disadvantage to this phone is probably the tiny 1520 milliamp stock battery, but otherwise it's nice if you root it and flash your custom ROM ( I have CyanogenMod 10.1 based off of android 4.2.2)

- Touch screen can be improved with any tweaks
- Video playback can be improved with bravia engine II installed
- Gaming can be improved also with overclocking

PS: in htc explorer.its touchscreen is runs as fluid.
so this is normal on every sensation series have a touchscreen issue?

What is the problem with xoom?

You know, i'm supposed to love all android things, i love my smartphone, but with tablets, i have an xoom that traumatized me because issues, i don't buy any other tablet because that, i don't know if it's only with me or i'm doing something wrong.
The true is that the xoom have a problem, a problem specially with the screen, i don't know, it's not lag, looks like it is but i think is not, for my knowledge on the subject it's with screen refresh frequency that it's not high, is that why you see pixelated movement of screen objects when you do a slowly fast swipe.
It's like the image of icons don't move in the same time and broke the transition, i want to know if that is a hardware issue, is that why xoom have that problem, or it's because Tegra 2 can't handle xoom? I don't want flame, i love my xoom, really but i want to resolve that problem, it's annoying me, i have an iPad 1 with single core 1ghz, xoom is dual core 1ghz with 1 gb, my iPad have 256 and you don't have that problem. Can someone help or explain that for me?
Sorry, my English, i'm Japanese.
I don't have this problem with mine, maybe your ROM is too cluttered. The info you passed is not enough to specify your problem, can you provide some more system info ?

I'm Running Stock 4.0.4 Icecream Sandwich, all stock, i already use CM10.1 and EOS 4.2.2. What i want to say is that my xoom is not fancy on transition and all xoom that i saw is that way too, i have a Galaxy SIII, i know it's a quad-core actually processor but i'm still compare, i haven't lag, it's like the transition it's not fancy, it's smooth but not fancy, it's like play video game on LCD/LED TV, LED have problems with refresh response that make HDMI Video Games not smooth, that's why i said about screen refreshs.
Also i got an Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in my hands on Store and compared with my xoom display, i will say again, it's not lag or slight lag, it's about the things moving on the screen, you see the trail if i can call it in that way.
I will make a video to show you what i'm talking about.

Hum... But you mean only in the launcher you find the "lag"? The stock launcher has some problems, I'm running EOS 4, with Nova launcher (one screen) and my Xoom is blazing fast, it's not a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 neither a S3, but it's working well. Try changing the launcher, installing the ROM again and changing the launcher. Mine is quite fast, however I have a friend whose isn't as fast as mine because of the settings

As i said, yeah i know, stock launcher have some lag, but it's not about lag, as an example, what a video with a lot of fast footage, if you see on xoom, on PC and on a OLED TV like i have here, TV is the best way followed by PC, but on xoom i have headache seeing fast movements, you see the trace you know, it's not like instant, as i said i will make a video.
What's your ROM?
Okay, I will wait for your video to help I understand more your problem . I'm using EOS 4 on my Xoom (MZ601)

So a long time ago, i just got my camera today! AAAAAAAAAnnnnnndddd.... here is the vídeo :silly::silly::silly::silly::silly:
It's not a review and not so long, it just show the xoom screen besides others. I advise you to watch on youtube in 720p!
You have a good pronunciation ^^.
I have an idea of how to test if it's a hardware problem. Do you have a HDMI cable? If so, try plugging on your TV and see if the trail is still there, then we can have an idea .

So, about HDMI, yes i have it, but i need to search it, i will try to find and get that working to see, really thanks for support and your attention.
The bad news, if it is hardware, i'm lost due to the warranty period which is over hehe, but thanks again pal! :highfive:
I have 601 32GB 3G and I am very satisfied himself with the new rom 4.2.2

You are using 4.2.2 from CM?
The real problem with the Xoom is that tegra 2 is one of the worst Soc's ever made ..
In Benchmarks tegra 2 is close to OMAP4430 , but in real world most of OMAP4430 run perfectly smooth while TEGRA 2 devices can't even run the launcher smooth .

I have had a combination of Custom Roms and Software that brought the Xoom to a crawl. Currently using latest CM10.1 Nightly, Overclocked with Unified Gapps. A lean amount of Software. I have to say it runs well right now. I do wipe the system fairly often. I try not to dirty flash very often.

How that you cleaned everything? I hate the /0 partition that transform my SD card into internal memory.
You said your warranty was over, did you buy it new? and experiecning this lattely only? If so, its probably not the hardware, just try out different rom, plus maybe overclock it (as warranty is over anyway)
Hardware issue in my xoom was constant reboots and hangs, so after couple of weeks (yee weeks, I thought it was due to honeycomb) I sent coom to motorola and they fixed it on warranty...
Any way - good luck!

Just ordered this exact tablet and am also wondering the same thing. I hope someone has some dev experience with this tablet.

I ordered this exact tablet last week and it just came in the mail. It's an impressive piece of hardware with very little bloatware out of the box, but Jellybean takes up a lot of RAM by default (1/2 is being used just by the thing being turned on). I'd like to figure out the best method to root it at least, though my ideal goal is to put a ROM of an earlier release of the Android OS on it, I'm quite partial to Gingerbread to be entirely honest since it tends to use a lot less RAM and CPU power to run on similar hardware I've used before.
EDIT: Hopefully someone with actual experience can look into rooting this tablet, I tried using some typical "generic Android tablet root" techniques and nothing is working.
How to root Hannspree Quad Core 10.1" Model SN1AT71BUE
Hi. Could anyone tell me how to root Hannspree Quad Core 10.1" Model SN1AT71BUE ? I just bought it for several days. There is something wrong for restart after I installed some Apps from Google play and play some of them to change the default settings. Better provide me with ROM of this tablet, My email is [email protected]. Thanks! Jeff
I got kinda suckered into buying one of you too. They were so cheap so I figured why not. My main complaints are that the operating system seems to be the part that's making it so laggy. When it's actually performing a task it works fairly well. I use NHL GameCenter and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the streaming for work. SwiftKey keyboard is really laggy and unusable entirely. Also, Chrome seems to be impossible to use because of the lag. Other than that though everything else seems to run fairly smooth so I think it's more of an operating system issue than power issue. The battery is good it sounds good the screen is OK touch screen works...but if I can't use chrome or watch NHL games,I might have to return it.

Tablet seems to perform fairly well in games but is laggy at times on web surfing. As the previous poster noted Chrome is almost unusable it is so laggy. Video apps seem to perform well after they load up. If an item is being downloaded in the background tablet is very laggy. I tend to agree with the previous poster that the main problem is the operating system. Maybe an update to 4.3 will come soon and improve performance.

Yeah I noticed the background downloading slowing it to a crawl. I think that's an issue with the kernel or memory read speed. There are some tweaks that we will be able to do once a working recovery is available that will fix that. Network speed too. I speed checked it and im getting 35mbs so the issue isn't the WiFi unit itself, its just software. I'm hoping somebody will make a nice custom ROM for us

If you want to restore it to factory settings you can do that in the current recovery.

Hi, I have the hannspree 10.1, its OK if you limit your apps which shouldn't be the case considering the spec, does anyone know how to root, would really appreciate any help, thanks

nothing out yet...it's just the os on it that sucks...just upgraded to 4.2.2 and it even slower...once theres a rom it will eliminate all the bloat in it...just hold on to it and wait...you will not get a quad core for that price...
Its a really terrible a5 based quad-core.. A dual core a9 would run circles around it. There isn't really any bloat in the rom, they didn't do much of anything to it. No custom rom is gonna upgrade the cpu or craptastic generic gpu. If you can return it, go do that. If you can't, I'm sorry, but it's never going to respond like an a9. It sucks that actions is full of lies, and Hannspree bought them, and retailers don't care what they are selling you.

After the update to 4.2.2, this thing is horrid slow. I had high hopes for this tablet. Now I'm kind regretting it. Until a better ROM is built with a custom kernel we are screwed.

I agree 100%, 4.2. Update is worse than original. Try downloading CPU tuner and pimp my ROM from play store it will help, until custom ROM is built.

So I just found out that the UK variant is running KitKat. If some can find anyone in the UK that can pull the rom for it, we can get this running much better than it currently is.
Can anyone point me into a direction where I could find the operation system and how to install
