[Q] Factory Reset and Internal Storage - Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

I was wondering if the Internal Storage gets wiped out with a factory reset. I know the external storage doesn't (SD Card) but I have never had a device with both...thank you for your reply.
EDIT: By Internal Storage I mean stuff like pictures and downloads

I assume you are asking about the stock factory reset, not the reset in cwm? Yes, internal storage gets wiped. I am not certain if cwm still does.

internal sdcard shouldnt get wiped in either, internal storage does in both. internal storage being apps/data/settings, internal sdcard is your pictures etc aka your 8GB's of storage

That's what I meant, the Internal SD Card....I guess one of these days when I have time I will do a factory reset in CWM and see what it does...

[Q] Internal SD wiped

Hi,
I wiped my internal SD while I was trying to connect it to my RC Car.
It works fine but the only thing is that I can't move stuff from internal SD to phone storage and I can't access ringtones from internal SD.
It shows up as USB storage now and not Internal SD. Is there a way to setup the internal SD card with default folders and such without having to wipe or reset?
Thanks
Yes- format from Settings->Storage.

internal storage showing full but it is not.

I have a rooted unlocked galaxy s3 Verizon edition. My internal memory says it is full but when I look up under phone storage usage it says I only have 2 gigs of installed apps and various other things such as android os. But says I only have 500 megabytes remaining. Any ideas
Use a root explorer and check and internal sd card, most chances you just have a bunch of zips in the root for folder of your internal card
OR
You have made multiple backups to internal storage, if thats the case, just clean them up.

Did that help you at all? I have the same problem. How do I know what should be in the root and what shouldn't be?
HELP! Internal Storage Full
Today I got an error that my internal Storage was full. SO I decided to go into recovery, wipe factory/reset. wipe cache and wipe dalvik. Then I installed the ROM again fresh and clean. Well after I get in there the damn thing only has 1 GB of space left. I am thinking that I didn't completely format the internal. Can anyone help me with this?
Much Thanks!
Shane

Factory reset Asus TF700 64GB

What do I lose if I perform a factory reset?
You format the system memory to 64GB?
Are deleted, documents, photos, videos, and everything else?
all your apps and settings. Anything not stored in the storage.
Don't quote me on it, but I believe your pictures stored on the internal memory should still be there. The SD card will not be touched, but you can pull it out if you want to error on the side of caution.
The problem is that if I connect the TAB to your PC via USB I can not see all the files.

it wipe everything on your internal memory (SDcard). It will not touch your external SDcard (removable). If you use root explore and look in the root, you will see folder; SDCard (this is internal memory) and Removable (this is external sd card).
removing the microSD ...
titanium backup:
792MB ROM
INSIDE: 60.4
SDcard: 60.4
the internal SDcard (64GB) is formatted?
Factory reset wipes EVERYTHING. I made the mistake of doing it because it doesn't wipe everything on my Epic 4G Touch. Lost all my pictures, downloads, roms, school work, Oops! Good thing I backed up to Google Drive before hand!

[Q] Noob question factory reset internal SD data...

So the phone is rooted, clockworkmod app installed, done a backup of the existing firmware (nandroid) which is saved in clockworkmod/backup folder. I copy the backup to PC just to be extra safe.
Never flashed a custom rom before...
All the tutorials say to factory reset/wipe...
The rom I want to flash is on the phone... What happens when I do the factory wipe? Does the backup and new rom.zip remain on the internal SD card?
None of the tutorials specify this... all they say is install new rom from SD card... which SD card? Internal or external plugin card?
I'm guessing factory reset doesn't wipe internal SD card right?
Samsung Galaxy S3 international.

Yes, they do. Doing a factory wipe only formats your internal memory (and not internal or external SD). So you only lose your apps, contacts, messages, calendar, notes, etc. No files or media are deleted.

By SD card, they mean either internal SD or external SD.

formatted sd card as internal, now tablet is not using it

hello everyone. i formatted the SD card as internal storage, and now everything is still installing to the actual internal storage and nothing to the SD card which is now the internal storage, so essentially its not using it at all and i dont have the option to move to sd.
anyone else having this much difficulty with marshmallow????
Go to settings
Click apps
select the app of your choosing
Click the storage
You can choose internal or external.
I know there is also an option to migrate all data to SD, but can't remember how to get there.

i completely reinstalled stock images, then upgraded and now it works as functioned -> formated as internal and it works perfectly and installs to the SD as internal storage, giving me a total of 64 gb sd + 11 gb internal.
