Can this please be merged into one of those other threads where people care to talk about devices other than the HTC Sensation and comparisons and such.
Nice resolution and pretty crisp, but the colours and blacks seem washy when put side by side with my Galaxy S2.
This is about the sensation and the screen quality

I got these in stock today and after playing around with it I was impressed by the sharpness of the screen - when you zoom into the text it is very similar to the iPhone 4. The SLCD is definitely better than a traditional LCD screen.
I still prefer the bigger screen on the Galaxy S II and the screen just looks so much nicer. The Super Amoled Plus technology is far superior to the SLCD in my opinion.

Doesnt the sensation have the bigger screen?
I think SLCD is better because it can work well at night

How is the screen bigger there both 4.3 inch you mean in vertically right cause the sensation is 16:9 ratio gives a wider landscape experience.

So he have a GSII and a Sensation to compare and just because he prefer the Suped amoled Plus screen on the GSII he's a fanboy ? Does he really have to love a screen that he find weaker to not being considered as a fanboy ? I mean seriously just think a few more seconds before flamming anyone without any valable reason

I think it wasn't about him preferring a screen over the other but about calling it BIGGER when they are both 4.3"
Yes, they have a different area due to aspect ratios but lets face it, the difference is almost negligible and many people don't even understand the difference, they just understand 4.3

The fact is that though the sensation should have a larger display due to 16:9 ratio. Vertically and landscape.

Yes and no. Larger area=definitely
Wider=yes
Longer=no
Remember, the more square a quadrilateral the greater the area for the same diagonal. But some people don't see that.
And as I said, some people don't look past the 4.3" or only focus on one of the dimensions. I didn't say he was right in his comment, just that I didn't think he was bashing on Stesa for liking the Samsung screen more, but rather because his statement of a larger screen APPEARS to be frivolous if you only consider the 4.3 (though Stesa is perfectly correct in saying it is bigger).
Its a personal preference, I have Nexus One and love the Amoled Screen, I have seen SAMOLED and SAMOLED + u wont see a lot of difference except brightness when going from Nexus One. Also OLED isnt really a mature tech yet, It needs a lot of generations to reach a perfectly good place. Has many issues right now though it looks beautiful

Hi guys, I'm kind of curious on this point...
So, what do you think of the screen compare to other phones ? Like viewing angles, contrast, color reproduction etc.
Thank you guy !

there are video on the net that clearly shows how N5 display is inferior to the G2 display.
Less contrast, no good black level on N5.

Yeah I saw that
The blacks are a bit grey and the viewing angles not that great, but its bright enough that its clearly readable in strong sunlight.
after coming from the S4 I'm pretty happy with it. Does just fine in my opinion
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
The N5 display is the only thing I'm not really happy with. Holding it next to my N7 with identical screens, the blacks on the N7 are VERY much blacker. Black widgets on a black background on the N5 look very gray (particularly the G-music widget). Screen is very "warm" color compared to N7 being very "cool". Looking at it without N7 next to it, it looks fine (happy enough with it). Higher resolution really isn't that noticeable to my eyes.
Other than that, the N5 does everything faster.
How is the display and its colors as compared to nexus 4 colors ?? Are the colors still lacking saturation and are washed out as they were in nexus 4 ??
Best screen ever! Never using an amoled again. And those that mention colors are washed out, probably are noobs. Colors are easy "fix" once franco and faux release that option in their kernels. But if you lile to whine just becauss you love whinning, then keep doing it!

A little better but you know this is ips screen not amoled. Don't expect that crazy over saturation.
The screen is washed out an is driving me crazy but lol..besides that I love the phone the speaker kinda sucks..I just wish it had better colors G2 screen looks so much better...the screen is almost a deal breaker for me...still deciding...

What's up with not being able to see this phone outside in sunlight? I've tried auto brightness and maximum brightness. The screen just seems so dim compared to other phones... anybody else feel this way?

Yup. Just turn sideways or backwards to the sun and cast a shadow over it and it´s legible. It may be dimmer than some other phones, but AFAIK it´s not that much worse.

For me, I only realise how dirty the screen is when I use it in bright sunlight - a quick wipe down with a screen cleaner wipe and visibility is great.
Cheap screen protectors can also wreck visibility in bright sunlight.
Rate this thread to express how well you can see the Huawei Nexus 6P's display outdoors. In case you've been playing Minecraft for 18 months straight, you might not known how to get outside anymore. Well, find the door and walk through it. A higher rating indicates that it has very high maximum brightness and thus fantastic outdoor visibility in direct sunlight.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Gets really bright, not as bright as Note5.
It may not be the very best according to some but I can perfectly see the screen without having to cover the phone from the sun while wearing my polarized sun glasses. This is with adaptive display turned on.

No complaints... Better than I expected after reading some reviews
Yes
yes it has a gr8 screen
Really struggle compared to previous phones.
I have htc m8
..I see this one better and it's sunny at the moment of writing this. I guess if you're coming from a Samsung s6

Not overly bothered either way, comparison was against an S5 which I thought was marginally better.

When I got my 6p, my screen was a, sort of, two-tone. A light pink hue in the top left of my screen, that faded diagonally, to a bottom right, bluer hue. I was about to rma, even called Huawei. (Let's hope no one has to go through them) I thought it may be the back light calibration. So I downloaded lux, and voila, my colors were evenly distributed across my screen. And in turn, added a lil brightness outdoors. I turned lux off and my calibration is correct now. My screen, to me, looks a lil richer now and is pretty impressive. I'm coming from the Note 4 too.

Nice screen. Still prefer Note 5 screen.
it bright enough for me. I can see the screen in full daylight fine.
Coming from a Galaxy S4, the 6P gets More brighter, and More dimmer than the S4. Was not expecting this great of a screen after reading all the posts. Unlike the S4, your eyes wont hurt when you wanna read something in bed with the lights off!
readability
I know this is the wrong place to ask but does anybody has som feeling how the display is compared to Iphone 6 Plus in brightness outdoors?

same here! love this phone.
I feel like I'm doing something wrong, because my experience has been the complete opposite of what everyone is saying here. The screen is fine indoors or out of direct sunlight, but in direct sunlight it's crazy hard to see. I have adaptive brightness off, and the brightness setting cranked. Just prior to this phone I'd tried out the Moto X Style, and while every review I read knocked that phone for its display, I feel like outdoor viewing was significantly better, and it didn't have any of the blotchy/uneven/pink hued issues that amoleds apparently have.
Outdoor visibility is extremely poor. Worse than my Nexus 5
Also really poor sunlight visibility here. RMA?
Adaptive Brightness
My 6p is bright enough for outside, but I have to be careful not to cover the sensor or the adaptive brightness will dim the screen.

Not as good as the note 7, but better than any LCD phone I have had.
It could definitely be better. Reminds me of my 6P outdoors.

Biggest con so far is no root access
I am really sad about the loss of stereo speakers. I keep covering the speaker and losing all sound :/
The Pixel wins in CPU (thermal throttling is waaaay better, the phone hasn't overheated and stuttered once so far) and camera, which are the main features I focus on.

No root access if you have Verizon version which is technically same price as play store version that comes unlocked. Google even posted system images with other Nexus images so it will be bootable if you have unlocked variant if you wanted root you should have read more and dine research and got unlocked model direct from google

I'm coming from a Nexus 6, the Pixel XL is at least 6 times brighter. I can actually see the screen now, in indirect sunlight, direct sunlight it doesn't matter. The screen on the Pixel is beastly in comparison to the N6.

thanks. I suspected that. it is a great app. I just do not want to root anymore. phones are needing root less and less now a days with how well they perform
I'm using Franco Kernel which has the high brightness mode, it's great for outdoors on sunny days.
In most situations I don't have a problem to see what's on my screen. But in very bright light conditions it might be a little hard without turning the brightness to 100% and use your eagle eyes to see what's on the screen ?
