[Android] Donations to buy a Polaris to mssmison (for testing)

Hi my friends! I've written a private message to vilord, dzo and mssmison to report the current status of Android for our devices and this is what mssmison answered:
I'd love to help man, but my phone died a couple weeks back and I've been unable to get a replacement

As you may already know, he is one of our best bets to a fully working Android. He has helped a lot, along with other wonderful people that bring us the best of their knowledge.
Well, I don't know how many of you donated money for this project, but it's definitely necessary to provide our developers with test devices.
I make a call to all of you that could help with a small donation for the cause. If you know where to buy a Polaris or you don't use yours anymore, please, notify us using this thread. The community will appreciate your help.

It's great you are supporting him! If only we could get more people to find him a good device... It doesn't matter if it's a very little donation. Many a little makes a mickle.
He's from Canada. Do you know anybody from Canada that is wanting to sell a Polaris? Maybe we could send one to him if we get enough donors.

I've taken a quick look at eBay and found some for about $195. Maybe we could find a bargain there.

Selling mine Polaris for 60 euro's, everything works.. Hardspl flashed, 6.5 rom etc.. I have a new phone, so my htc polaris is unused for a while now..

I received a message from mssmison. I have just realized that his original device was a Vogue, not a Polaris Sorry, I misunderstood it.
Well, I'm going to change the topic of this thread to fit the reality. My proposal is this: now that a donation link is set up, we could use it to raise the numbers enough to buy a Polaris, too. If you make a donation, specify that it is to buy a Polaris.
I trust that mssmison will be honest and he will get one once he gets the money. I will send him a PM to inform about it.
He told me that he's going to use it as a test device and extra phone to develop for. This could make possible to fix things quickly!
You've got to take into consideration that Vogue and Polaris are similar devices, but not the same, and we have way less developers... I think this is the only mean to keep the dev scene alive.

Looking forward everything he made for us this last months, I really appreciate the all he does for helping our community without receiving anything for it, even if he is not a I9003 owner, so here's the question: Should we begin donations to help him get a I9003?
I just contacted him by PM, asking him what happened to his I9003 (actually I thought he had one because o the great stuff he does for us) and he told me my mistake: He is not a I9003 owner.

I dont know that how many members will now get ready for donation but I will surely help u. As I am student & as I already donated to doomlord I cant donate at least for now. After finishing my exams I will surely donate in december months if sufficient number of members are get ready which will be quite hard. But dont loose hopes. I am with u.

It is true that people just donated for DoomLord SCL, and we are not rich people, but i am sure that in december we will have enough to buy a phone for fuss. We dont have to carry up, we have time to get the money and this guy did a lot for us HAVING NO PHONE. So his development was only for as, not for him...

Totally true man, no hurry, but as soon as we begin we'll end sooner so, basing in procedure with doomlord donations, can people who WANT to donate to tell the possible amount to make an aproximated number of money we can collect?

I would like to contribute about 5 €

dont take wrong guys but a small suggestion is there. Still we have not completed donation amount that we have to donate to doomlord. He brought device by adding 20% from his pocket instead of just 10% which he had mentioned. I mean to say we should first complete donation amount of doomlord then we can concentrate here. It will not look good that doomlord is taking efforts for us by adding his own money for us. I hope u understand what I mean.

Hill Beast Introduction

Hey there everyone, my name is Mark Kennard (or as most people know me, Hill Beast). I am a developer for the Galaxy 3, and have been on the XDA for over a year now and after a person (bscraze) who used to use my works on his Galaxy 3 called me over the the SL forums, I was informed that a developer (Fuss was on his way out). It's always sad to see a developer go, but I will try my best to fill his shoes.
I have asked him if he could send me the device and he is fine with this, all I need to do now is arrange some shipping costs to send the device to New Zealand.
As you can tell from the fact that I am a recognised developer (not bragging, just pointing out), I'm not here to steal somebodys money or phone. I already have a Galaxy S2 so it's not like I will be just taking the device and running off. That would be stupid and I'd probably lose my RD status. Instead all I wish is for anyone who can, please chip in a little bit of money for donations towards getting the device to New Zealand.
I already have debugging equipment from my Galaxy 3 (it uses the same USB switch chip and therefore the same external UART system), and even if that doesn't work, I am experienced with soldering and micro electronics so I can open the device up and pull the UART out of the device that way, all I need now is the device on my desk.
Feel free to put the donations in my Paypal now.
Again, I'm not here to nick any-ones money.

$69 for fedex and $13 for DHL.fedex is expensive.go for DHl instead.but i think you should wait for dhiru's and everyone else's response

It's a USB cable that comes out of the phone and connects to my Arduino, and has a bunch of jumpers on the end to define what mode it should be in.

Help us help a great dev, Vorbeth, get back to developing. He said yes.

Since I've been rooting and using custom ROMS, this is the 3rd great dev I've seen that has needed a new device to continue his/her fine work. x0xhellx0x with the LG G2x, dropped his phone and we the community rallied and bought him another phone to continue developing his HellFire series. Civato's Acer A500 died on him and the community again rallied to replace his A500, to continue his development.
Still waiting to get my A700 but Ilove what I see in this ROM and would like to see development continue. Let's all get together and see if we can help keep Vorbeth continue developing for our device.
Once we can get enough support, will set up a donation acct.
Update: Just heard from Vorbeth. He does want to continue developing for the A700! Need to figure out a few things. But the good news is he wants to come back.
