I am big fan of Nokia, but I was pretty disappointed when they decided to go with Windows and not with Android. According to some rumors Google could allow more Nexus models, so I`ve decided to make my vision of Nokia`s flagship phone running on Android, called Lumia Nexus. This phone should be equipped with 2 GHz quad-core processor; 5" HD display; 2 GB RAM and with 32 GB of storage.
Why Nexus? With this phone people should experience Lumia Nexus as superb Android device from Nokia with regular software updates from Google. With this phone Nokia should present its full engineering potential that is able to bring various high quality Android phones in future. Also, this phone should be great machine for advanced developers that can smoothly handle various application requests.

I actually like it.
The Lumia phones have a great design, and a pure Android experience is a nice thing.
I like it. I like it a lot.
looks awesome, i would totally buy the phone.
I like your effort, but you could hardly call that your own vision.
You literally took that image of the Lumia 920, made the phone standing upright red instead of yellow, removed the front speaker, camera, and Nokia logo from it, replaced the image of WP8 and the MS softkeys with an image of Android with the Android keys, and then added white stripes to it and the red Lumia 920 next to it.
That's not a concept or your own vision, that's photoshopping an image of the Lumia 920 to look like it's running Android and then tweaking other bits of the picture like the color of the phone. If you're going to put an effort into making concepts, make actual concepts and come up with your own designs for phones. You did the same thing with an HTC concept-you just tweaked an image of the One X.
But still looks good as hell, The Janitor Mop
Thanx guys for nice words.
@The Janitor Mop.
If you look closer you will see that this phone is called Lumia Nexus, so that phone is part of Lumia family that have unique styling! IMO Nokia should go with Lumia styling with Windows (and I hope sometime in future) with Android phones.
This render is free, I dont sell this. So, again, I dont see point of your post. I want to show my thoughts on Nokia situation, and that is what they shoud make - ultimate Android phone.
Leave it be, if you like the photo fine. If you do not like fine also...but posting saying what you think the OP did to the picture is not the idea, the idea is the concept of the phone if it had this options.
Thank you.

Not sure about the decor, I think I would prefer it a plain color like the lumias we have now.
That thing looks SWEET! I'm really digging it, I would definitely buy the phone. Considering I really liked how the 900 felt in my hand, although not a big fan of WP, Android based would seal the deal!

If you wanted to create your own concept of an Android phone in the Lumia family, then you should have created your own design that is similar to Lumia Windows Phone devices. Not literally taken a picture of the Lumia 920 and changed a few minor things. I know you aren't profiting from this, but it is disingenuous to pass this off as your own design-you modified a picture of the 920.

I don't think he modified that picture, I know he did. If you actually look at both pictures it is beyond blindingly clear that he modified the one I posted. That's not a guess, it's a fact. If he wanted to share his concept that the Lumia 920 would make a cool Android Nexus device, he should have said that. Instead he implies that he created this design, which is completely disingenuous regardless of whether he's profiting from it or not.
Basically, OP, I have nothing wrong with the fact that you think the 920 would make a cool Android device. Just make a note of that in your post-“Concept for a Lumia Nexus, based on the 920". Because as of now, your post implies that you created that design. People think they are looking at an original design when they're really looking at a Lumia 920, which you didn't create. It is key in the world of art and design to be honest about when you're borrowing other people's work.

Hi everyone, I have been wondering what people think is the best phone on the market and why?
This thread is designed for those who want to purchase a new phone, but don't want to buy something that is only hyped and has no substance. By the people, For the People!
Please state the phone and your reason why it is your personal favorite. (Note: It could be any phone, even the iPhone 4.)
Thanks To all those who post!
I thought the Motorola Dynatac 800X was pretty coollio, last week!
My favorite phone by all means is (because I own it) HTC HD2. Mines is a TMOUS, but if you are planning on buying one get the world version its universal. Here is a video (not mine) on why the HD2 is better than iPhone 3GS in versus type explanation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9cOMoouatY&feature=related . The HD2 is a versatile device. It has the capability of running Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Mobile 6.5.x, and new to the device many versions of android. I personally enjoy its big 4.3 inch screen. It has a pretty good 5 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash.
Exception: The phone overheats alot!
That's funny,

There are way to many phones out there to choose from. Money is also a variable. I have a HTC Doual Touch and I am happy with it for now. I am aware that it is not the best but it is good enough.

Whats funny is this was a monutmental breakthrough in cellular phones. The precvious model looked like a car battery with a phone on top. My neighboor got the first car/cell phone ever made and showed it off to the neighboorhood. It was funny because no one ,,,, got it. No one understood what that big ass cynderblock represented and what it would lead too. So when ever I see the older cell phones I think back to the original and laugh thinking, if you'd been carrying that car battery the past 2 years this thing looks like its from startrek.
I here there will be a new Brick just around the corner

my favorite is the htc hd2 too, but thats because i love winmo, and i love the option to boot android too (wich works just awsome, better then i thought).
but for a totaly new person, i wouldnt recommend to buy a winmo 6.5 phone, cause that OS is sadly dying more and more, and the hd2 will probably the last winmo device.. ;(
i would wait for a new phone to come out..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=599210
I'd go for the hd2, I don't own it. But I like the device.
sent from my x10i that is banging for a 2.1 upgrade. ...
Now i have a motorola dext. pretty good phone, really.
But i love the NexusOne and the HD2, if i have money i buy one.
I love my HD2. Even before I Android running on it. WinMo is smooth as silk on it. I love options too.
I love my diamond,if i have money i would buy a desire!
Well, mine is the Desire.I own it,I love Android,I love the device itself and would recommend it to everyone!
Thanks for the Replies
Wow, everyone seems to LOVE the HD2 here, and HATE it on howardforums.
I really don't know what to do. :/
i just got my new n shiny galaxy s n i m just lovin it..
To me:
Android: Dell Streak
Winmo: HD2
WinPhone 7: whatever next from HTC

The contract for my HTC Desire is about to run out and I'm looking for a new phone but am really confused about which I should get. I primarily use my phone for gaming and the only thing that annoys me about my current phone is the lack of storage space for apps (even when I'm using Cyanogen).
I really like Android but I'm also quite interested in Windows phones because of the XBL integration. I'm just a bit concerned about the lack of games/apps on Windows phones at the minute. Though I suppose that will improve. When I got my Desire a couple of years ago the Android market was pretty sparse too.
I've been looking at the Galaxy S2 as a couple of people at work have got it but it looks enormous which puts me off. I think I'd quite like something around the same size as my Desire but if the S2 is really that much better for gaming I wouldn't mind going for that anyway. I imagine I'd get used to the size. I've also thought about the LG Optimus phones. Maybe the 2X?
Any thoughts?

Depending on your carrier, I'd suggest going with a Windows Phone 7 model, the Samsung Focus, to be specific. My opinion is WP7 has better games than Android. It may not have as many, but what it has is certainly excellent. But it is still growing too. So the number of games and apps with improve over time. It also has superior apps compared to Android, with the exception being the XDA app. The Android version is superior to the WP7 version. There's a lot to love about WP7. Mainly it has superior integration of social features, messaging and communications. It is by far more convenient than Android and much more reliable. It is smoother, cleaner. faster. It doesn't require as much power to run than Android does for being low-resource hungry.
One superb feature of WP7 hardware is the GSM versions are world phones. If you have a carrier branded WP7 phone sim-unlocked, you can use it on any GSM network, 3G data as well as regular cell service. But there are unlocked versions available at reasonable prices. The Focus is available online for as little as $150 brand new. Best Buy online has them for $250.
But if you don't mind waiting a few weeks, you will be able to choose from the second generation of WP7 phones soon to be released. The Samsung Focus S will be basically the same as an SGS2 but loaded with WP7 and better specs. It's the one I'm eagerly awaiting. It will have the glorious SAMOLED+ tech in a 4.3" size.
If it is primarily gaming then I suggest an iPhone 4s.
Check on each of the OS's app stores for what games they have.
Then just go for the phone which has the most games you want.
Simple.

I do like the look of the Xperia Play, actually. But part of me wonders if I'd be shooting myself in the foot getting that instead of one of the more powerful Androids when I'll be tied into a contract for 18-24 months.
I'm not fussed about getting an iPhone. My wife has one and I've got an iPad which I use for playing iOS games.
I do find the Windows phones intriguing but I'm scared about committing to a platform I'm not sure is going to take off properly. Android seems to be on the up and up at the minute and I just can't see Windows phones catching up. But I have to admit, I am tempted...
To be honest, Android has most of the games the iOS has, and some more, but not as much as the iOS. So if you have the iOS, it makes no sense to me for getting android, if you already have a platform with more and the same.
So why not try WP7 then?
Android
If you dont wan't an iPhone. Get an Android phone, check out maybe a SGSII? or Nexus S?
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PHONE BRAND?
And if you want tell why , post a comment
My:
HTC , cause I like 99% of their phones. I'm not a fanboy , i like the sense & android phones and too much the HTC's appearance.
I also like to have 180gr phone , with good quality costruction , LED notifications , and all. I will never buy one another phone brand since i have used HTC's phone , the prices are always high but the quality not changes. Also i think Samsung it's more popular as phone cause they make TV's MP3 and another things. I hate iPhone , their stupid publicity's on the television that shows one stupid feature to grab more iPhone fanboys to spend their cash. For the end i like HTC because:
1. For me are the best since i have tryed 4-5 phones.
2.Semi-alluminium cases and build quality
3.Their UI's on winmo , and also android are the more beatiful , and easy to use.
4. They make only phone's and not washing machines like samsung.
5. They are always the first: Android phone was the htc first to use it , 4G (?) 3D (?)
ZTE* SORRY

Sammy because they actually optimized their software.
It used to be HTC till they let themselves be held back by the crappy Qualcomm CPU's when everybody just outperforms them easily, also their screens are behind the Super AMOLED and IPS tech now being used thus more washed out than the rest, and lack of software optimization
Sammy gets my vote since they combine best cameras, best screens, best horsepower, and actually optimzes their software to work well too. Wish their build quality was better though

HTC,
Sense is a very attractive peace of software they've came up with. First android phone was made by HTC and had Sense. Became so used to it, I now won't buy a phone that isn't made by them...
The Nexus one is my only exception to a phone without HTC Sense, but funny that it is made by them.

I totally agree with you...
After a Magician, the brilliant Universal, the ok Trinity P3600, and the hobbled HTC Tytn II (which only matched previous phone video capabilities after the hardwork of Chainfire and others), that was it for me and HTC.
The Tytn II was powerful and well built (I dropped it off my GSXR 1000 when using it for sat nav and it only got a scratched....ok it was only 40 MPH), but limited drivers...How can you ship a phone that has slower video than an older model as stock?
Anyway, I believe Samsung (with the Galaxy S) was the first Android phone manufacturer that put the fight to Apple and the iPhone, with superior hardware and a slick UI running Android. I believe it also helped create more publicity for Android and turned potential iPhone purchasers away.
The iPhone was a collection of amazing cutting edge hardware (especially in GPU accelerated 3D graphics) and it had a brilliant user interface operating system that made good use of all of it.
I don't like Apple and the way they restrict what can be put on their device, but it's hard to ignore that without the iPhone, we wouldn't have Android as brilliant and superior as it is in it's flexibility, ease of use and multitasking.
We would have another Blackberry style device...urgh
Motorola hands down.

HTC will always be my favourite phone brand, not only because they are one of the biggest sponsors of the tour de france their phones have the nicest UI's and features in my opinion and now with the buy out of beats audio their phones will now rock the house
HTC
I like how their phones look... They all look alike so that's the good part! and they feel durable unlike the plastic like Samsung which feels like its either going to brake easily or its going to float away.
Sense it good and hopefully it gets better cuz HTC is like that
Used to be HTC when their designs are actually cool and unique, now its Samsung, since I realise every single manufacturers are going iPhone-clone looks anyway, might as well woot for the one with the constantly evolving specs.
HTC
Why?...
1-Good Battery
2-Easy to root and unlock.

I voted HTC for current smart phone brand since that is what I'm using now and have been very happy with it.
love the design, build quality, and the beautiful UI.
I really want to like Samsung but they really need to do something about all the plastic.
plus they need to get away from the Iclone look. Galaxy Nexus is a good start though. hopefully they embrace that design and move on from the current look of the Galaxy S line.
but having said all this, my legacy brand is Motorola. hey, grew up in the era of MicroTac, what can I tell you...

It looks so much like Android.
I'm confused. This may sound like a separate topic but, since Android is open source, does it mean that I can copy it over and change it around and call it MyMobileOS and sell it for money?
Is what XiaoMi phone is doing legal? They just take Google's code and change it around and massively put it on their own phones and sell for money?

HTC screens are garbage. I personally think that if Samsung was to go ahead and make this move without continuing to release any Android phones then that would be a negative decision on their part financially.

U would leave android because sammy did?
I seriously doubt the SGSII will have anything but android on it but I certainly don't doubt them making a phone with another OS. look at how many android phones sammy makes. you think they will stop all that?
Tizen is also open source - so you should not pay any money to have it. And looking into the source code - all of the drivers are under Apache License with Samsung as owner. We will probably see Samsung running Tizen soon. Not to mention that Intel is supporting the project hoping that they may enforce x86 instead of ARM processors arch (the same way they are forcing Thunderbird instead of USB). Android got one major flaw - that's the java virtual machine or I should say Oracle.
Looks like a Touch Wiz OS. Low end devices most likely, similar to Bada.

Oh c'mon with the exaggeration.. they're a far cry from 'garbage'!
Samsung screens are nice but the colours (from what I have seen personally) are over saturated in comparison to others such as HTC, which have more natural colours, something a lot of people appreciate.
My best friend has a GS2 and while his screen is nice, it's also tinted yellow because the colour temperature is way off, so the colours on my 1 year old Desire HD actually look better. He's not alone either there's a 200+ page thread on it. Then there's the banding issues people are having on the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note displays.
What I'm getting at is all current screens have their downsides but they're all far from being garbage.
i think that's a new incarnation of BADA OS
It's a bada os, but it'll be open-source this time.
I don't know who need this... Bada failed, Tizen will fail too.
This would be a HUGE mistake. Right now, people love Android, and some of us have quite a bit of money invested in apps and other things. I don't see many devs jumping ship either...
First of all, I'm a die hard WP7 user through and through. Social interaction, stability, and quick gaming, as well as a good ecosystem of interconnected services are what I'm after in a phone, and so it's the ideal option for me. That said, I try to be as fair as possible in my judgment of other devices. I recently picked up a Nokia N9 and an Xperia play as alternate phones to my Lumia 800 (which has since been upgraded to the Lumia 900) for comparison purposes. The first thing I tested on these two devices, since it's the one thing I miss on WP7, is emulation. Honestly, despite the perfect controls on the xperia, I kept going back to the more "pure" Linux experience of meego for emulation. This was due primarily to the app emumaster which has all your basic emulators cooked into one app with great developer support and outstanding framework. The xperia's controls are awesome, but the low quality of the ps1 emulators I could find left a lot to be desired. The feature that Android really stole the show with, was the market. I left android October of 2010 for the most part aside from picking up random great deals on Craigslist. I most recently tried the Gnex, and it seemed to have a lot of the issues that put me on the prowl in the first place still, so I was not smitten. However, the progression of the app market is phenomenal, a far cry from the doldrum mess that I was forced to search through in my time with android. The new Google Play point is great and feels a lot less like a beta test than it did before. While I'll always prefer WP7's dynamic UI, I much preferred Meego's to android's. There are no "official" widgets yet, but even without, the three home screens have all the info you need and the lock screen is great. It offers a, "sleeping clock" feature where even when the phone is asleep, the clock is still displayed, as well as your notifications. After double tapping on that, you have more specific notifications over a background pic of your choosing, you can swipe on any of these to open the app direct, or just swipe the whole homescreen off which leads to the homescreens, one has all your apps complete with folders. The next, shows all the apps you have currently running. True multi-tasking an astonishing 19 apps and no real hiccups. Amazing. Then, there's your notifications tab, it keeps your notifications as well as a list of your social network mews feed on hand. Everything just feels easy and intuitive. Android, sadly, still felt pretty much the same, I guess if it's not broke, don't fix it, but there's better UI options. Overall, the xperia Play got the least play, not because it's a bad device, but it's just not what I need. The N9 is great, but suffers some of the same issues android does. It is, however, a good meeting point between android and WP7 and was abandoned far too early. Neither pulled me from WP7, but unfortunately, I now try to double-tap my 900 to unlock it.

That should've stuck with Meego. That would've been a real 4th OS.
Nokia can't shine with Wp7.

The Lumia 900 seems to be doing quite well for itself, replacing the iPhone as ATT's hero device. I can't wait to see what the 610 does in India.
I read somewhere that at&t associates doin a disservice for customers. It seems iPhone is still the hero device, salespeople still pushing the iPhone and not giving the lumia900 a chance.

They sell what they know, unfortunately most att reps know little about phones.

2 nd smart phone - htc hd7. Was okay not many apps. Hated metro tiles.
3rd smart phone -galaxy s2 i9100- LOVE IT MORE THEN ANYTHING. Awesome phone. Went to go get a iPhone 4s . But I thought and my friend said u have to try andriod. Now he was right not goin to any other Os ever again.
For her to say iPhone as a high end device is funny.
