[Q] best way to buy

was going to wait until the keyboard dock model was out but as shipping dates are being pushed back i might take the plunge.Whats the score with getting the dock after its released

No trouble at all it seems, but only for a short period.
You follow the instructions given here.
I did this yesterday whilst I was on the train (just got my Transformer!) and was sent an invoice yesterday afternoon, which I duly paid by bank transfer. The keyboard docks should be sent out sometime in May, and the total cost was £54.98p.

Is there ANY chance to order this tablet from UK to germany? We don't even have a release date yet and I don't care about the different charger. But there's no shop that's shipping outside UK, at least not one that offers the Transformer!?

I would greatly appreciate that! All the devices that are on ebay right now ship from Taiwan, meaning a lot of taxes for shipping to Europe.
So if you sell the tablet for a reasonable price I'd definitely buy a device from you! Docking station from UK is worthless for me anyway, since it has the wrong layout (QWERTY instead of QWERTZ). Just PM me your ebay link if you sell via ebay, that would be awesome! Just ordered a device

gave me a choice of delivery dates earliest was next thursday and they have charged for delivery so i take it they will meet the order or i will cancel

Pre-order in the US

When the pre orders start will people please put links or stores that are offering pre sales in the US

For the US, Canada and the UK the Nowinstock.net web-site was invaluable for tracking availability on the original transformer and then the Prime. There isn't a lot detail on there for the Infinity at the moment but I would expect that to change in due course and as we approach the actual launch date.

Check out their return policy. I would be cautious.

Best Buy had the tf700t up earlier this week with both docks, but has now been removed. It was listed as out of stock the whole time, though.

question, does J&R deduct the money right away, or do they wait till the merchandise has shipped?

Thank you for the coupon! Used it to offset the $17 for next day shipping.
I just placed a pre-order for a 64GB Champagne. Still debating the dock.

Unsure, but there is definitely a temp charge / hold on my Discover card right now.

Yep, that's why I was thinking maybe he got the Prime by mistake...
Crazy that although the TF700 is right around the corner, the TF201 is still the exact same price.

Ouch! I agree with you. It's still 2+ weeks before the supposed release date and I strongly believe we'll see a host of retailers "suddenly" list the TF700t -- I recently purchased the ASUS UX31a ultrabook after waiting for months (has same HD screen) and same experience with no word, no word -- then in a period of ~24 hours it seemed "everyone" was selling them!

I bit the bullet and preordered mine from J&R too. The $5 off, free shipping and 5% back with Discover helped to seal the deal. I chose 1-day shipping to get it faster. If I find it cheaper elsewhere or change my mind, I can always cancel.

I was hoping you were right about it sprouting up everywhere, but still nowhere else as of yet. I have been refreshing amazon, bestbuy, futureshop, ncix, expansys etc... constantly for a week now! I guess it'll show up somewhere else eventually.

I pre-ordered from J&R on the 4th of July.
I called this morning. They got a shipment in yesterday and will be shipping mine today.... yeah !! :laugh:
Those of you looking to get from BHPhoto.... I wondered if tablets are included in the return policy for computers. In which case possible re-stocking fee. Will need to find out from CSR.
J&R official policy says no such thing. Also, CSRs at J&R have been nothing but helpful and polite so far. I am posting here and on the mother thread that started this one. So, you can imagine how antsy I was and how many times I called (3 times since monday....).

FWIW plenty of TF201 docks available (plus has a bigger battery) and they are compatible.

That's economics in action . Do you think it should stay at full MSRP continually.

i'm cool with 500 for the product. how much someone pay somewhere else or some other time is pretty irrelevant to me. if i wasn't happy paying full retail i wouldn't. i also wouldn't be enjoying the tablet right now if i took a deal other than what i have.

If you bought it from Best Buy they will do a price match for up to 30 days after you purchase it. I'm hoping to see it drop a little more so I can get a bigger refund

I know things drop in price and that's a good thing.
I was just whining about buying then seeing the cost dump within days of jumping in.
Price is always the determining factor when buying (usually.)
Be cool if Amazon would re-initialize their price match policy.
Getting a non-buggy tab is the main thing I'm thinking.

Yes, I can verify... It is a local store not online and the store should be sufficiently close. I did this with my TFP and got $50 off... \
P.S: Just reading TF700 forums to see if the problems on TF700 are worth the shift from my TFP to this.

Just noticed the price drop on Amazon. Emailed and asked for a refund of the difference and was denied (the rep was actually pretty rude too). Replied saying I just might have to take my business to best buy with a before and after price match, we'll see what they say. I spend a good $10k+ a year on Amazon, bad business.
Although Amazon is still the best option (no tax, free 2nd day shipping for prime members), they know it too...

you are lucky you live in the us and do not have to pay customs taxes.... I bought mine 2 days before the cyber Monday deal. because I live in Europe I was ****ed. I got a 99$ gift card but not the 360 cam.
so return it and let them bleed. not you!

After conversions and postage it came to about $600 Australian.
I just bought one on a whim, heaven help me. I could have bought something with a better reputation for that money, but I am just curious about this thing.

it's a great phone.
The initial performance and throttling issues are worked out.
When it first released I sent it back because a LG G6 would benchmark better.
Now running various benchmarks on Oreo B3 it benchmarks about as high as the theoretical limit for a SD835 device.
The camera is okay, but I own three APS-C cameras so I don't care if it's not the best on the market.

I bought mine from Telus in Canada for $460, no contract. They are required by law to unlock phones upon request as well. $460 CAD is a lot less than $499US
