[Q] One S Housing - HTC One S

hey guys, a few days ago i dropped my htc one s on concrete and fortunately it did not land on the screen.. but it landed on its top and got some pretty bad dents and scratches.
And I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where I can find the One S housing and a video of how to take it apart?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

The following guide up to 2:27 could be useful for changing your housing - however I am quite sure you will void your hardware and software warranty.

HTC Desire S Disassembly

Hi everybody...
I'm looking a guide to disassemble (tear down) the HTC Desire S.
Someone can help me ?
Thanks
Here is video guide:

i remember reading someone saying that they heated the phone to remove the top plastic part of the phone...
Or drop it on the floor. Kidding. The top plastic of my phone almost came off when i dropped it weeks ago.

[Q] Need help finding the right parts to replace my screen.

Dear XDA'ers,
Earlier this year my wife somehow broke her screen. Her screen still worked and the touch screen also worked, even the parts where the screen was cracked functioned without any problems.
After a while she got jealous of my HTC Sensation with its not-cracked-screen so she decided to do some digging and ordered "NEW TOUCH SCREEN DIGITIZER FOR HTC DESIRE HD A9191 G10 + tools" of ebay (itemnumber =190662521121).
I followed a video on youtube (video id = jG6RLR_tAEs ) to replace the screen but now I am stuck at the seperating the lcd from the digitizer part.
My wife wanted to try seperating it and ended up breaking the outer glass even more so now I think we need an LCD too.
In the video the guy also said he had trouble seperating the two and ended up ordering the chassis+lcd+touch screen digitizer. I want to do the same thing since all the prying messed up the chassis as well.
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a complete set and also wheather or not my story makes sense. I haven't had much experience replacing screens on smartphones so if anyone has some tips, they're much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Why don't you ask the guy in the video?
Thanks for the tip, I did and he linked me to this:

Looking for replacement parts

I recently dropped my s3 and I have the white one. It scuffed the corner on both the silver middle parts. I've been online looking and Ebay and I cannot seem to find, first the names of those 2 parts, and second, anyone selling them specifically for the white i535 . If anyone can help, id appreciate it. Also, I read somewhere that it is very difficult to do the replacement.. But I have fixed other phones, so is it much different?
Thank you

Good Luck
Your looking for the frame of the phone, even if you can find it the trouble to fix a cosmetic flaw is not worth it. Your looking at having to separate the glass, digitizer and LCD on our phone because the LCD is glued to the frame and the other parts are on top of that. One small slip which is very easy to do this repair and you'll be looking at up to a $225 repair for a whole new LCD setup. The real question is if the phone is working and only the corner is scratched why don't you just put it in a case that covers up the flaw and prevent further damage to the frame?
I guess bc I take such good care of my phone and I am so disappointed I dropped it and didn't have a case on it that looking at that bothers me. What about just replacing the middle frame and not messing w the part u r talking about which I can see now is that very very thin top piece... Yeah.. No thank u to getting near the lcd. Been there, done that. LOL
Thanks

[Q] Digitizer Replacement

Dear All,
I was having a very wonderful time with my desire S untill recently when something went bad with my saga that the right edge of the touchscreen did not respond. After a few days, the left edge stopped responding as well.
I searched XDA and googled for the problem and I came to know that replacing digitizer helps. My LCD is very much fine and I'm hopeful replacing just the digitizer will help. I've ordered one from Amazon and I'll be performing the replacement myself, referring youtube videos.
Could anyone please share their experience on replacement of digitizer or problems similar to me?
Thanks.
I did that a while ago... Though i had a cracked digitizer instead od an unresponsive one... You should be fine with the video guides. Some of the parts (like the camera cover) will put some resistance though. You'll also need to be careful with the screen as it is glued to the frame. If you will, you should be able to reuse it and watch out for the cable

It's a fairly easy procedure and I have done it on a couple of DSs before.
Just do yourself a favour - take it slowly and follow the instructions closely. Especially when it comes to heating the old tape to separate the digitiser and the LCD - if you try to force it off at all you run a very real risk of cracking the LCD as it's a fragile bit of kit.

[Q] Front glass lens broken

Dear all,
Today I dropped my one S on the ground...
Result: a broken front lens glass.
The digitizer is working well, the LCD panel is intact (I think) and the phone is working 100%.
Only the front glass is broken and scratched heavily.
I asked a price for repair on an official repair center: around 200$ (reconverted from EUR).
The repair center told me it is impossible to replace the glass without replacing the whole LCD and digitizer.
I searched the internet and I came on this page: http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-one-s-glass-lens.html
Price: around 15 $ including shipping.
My question is: how is this 'front lens glass' mounted in the phone? Is it mounted with glue?
Or is this just 'pressed' in the case? I don't know exactly how to say it in English, but I think you understand me: just opening the case and replacing it, and the screwes of the case are responsible for the place of the lens glass?
Can I do it by myself?
Does any1 have experience with this?
Is it difficult?
I have a little experience with repairing phones: i repaired a Desire Z with new camera module and LED module, but neither I am an expert.
Thx 4 all!
Pieter
If the digitiser breaks, since our phone is LED you have to replace the screen as well. No two ways about it.
However, if you have the right tools for the job, it shouldn't be overly difficult. Obviously, it goes without saying, your warranty is 100% gone the second you open it up.
Maybe this can help you.
