I have an original sensation and love it. Today it fell from my pocket onto tiles. Which is was about a 32inch height. . . .didn't seem to serious. At first the only damage seemed a tiny 2mm chip spot on the casing which had exposed white. But then I saw my screen!! The top left hand corner had the back light looking a bit too strong from off screen. And even worse there were permanant speckles of black in an arc shape around that corner of the screen. Then I tried rubbing it a bit and squeezing the back and slightly seperating it as I taught the fall may have changed the spacing. and at first it seemed to help maybe a little. But now there is a small section of my screen at the corner which is always black and I don't think the bacjlight is on their . The touch screen still works all over though and their are no cracks.
Anyone know what's wrong? What I can do to fix it? Any help greatly appreciated
Broken screen. Most probably the digitizer is ok. Go to a HTC repair shop, if you still have warranty

Thanks for the reply but surprisingly and miraculously its fixed itself over the last couple days
. It only went back to fully looking normal in the past few hours. Backlight is still a bit too bright in that area and some damage comes back if the are is hit or pressed.
So there is still some damage but 98% of the time it looks perfect and its fully working. So anyone reading this bear in mind not to be too hasty about taking your phone apart and replacing stuff where the screen is concerned.
Dear XDA'ers,
Earlier this year my wife somehow broke her screen. Her screen still worked and the touch screen also worked, even the parts where the screen was cracked functioned without any problems.
After a while she got jealous of my HTC Sensation with its not-cracked-screen so she decided to do some digging and ordered "NEW TOUCH SCREEN DIGITIZER FOR HTC DESIRE HD A9191 G10 + tools" of ebay (itemnumber =190662521121).
I followed a video on youtube (video id = jG6RLR_tAEs ) to replace the screen but now I am stuck at the seperating the lcd from the digitizer part.
My wife wanted to try seperating it and ended up breaking the outer glass even more so now I think we need an LCD too.
In the video the guy also said he had trouble seperating the two and ended up ordering the chassis+lcd+touch screen digitizer. I want to do the same thing since all the prying messed up the chassis as well.
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a complete set and also wheather or not my story makes sense. I haven't had much experience replacing screens on smartphones so if anyone has some tips, they're much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Why don't you ask the guy in the video?
Thanks for the tip, I did and he linked me to this:
ebay DOT com /itm/New-LCD-Display-Touch-Screen-Digitizer-Assembly-for-HTC-Desire-HD-G10-A9191-/221076191455?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33792af8df
hey guys, a few days ago i dropped my htc one s on concrete and fortunately it did not land on the screen.. but it landed on its top and got some pretty bad dents and scratches.
And I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where I can find the One S housing and a video of how to take it apart?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
The following guide up to 2:27 could be useful for changing your housing - however I am quite sure you will void your hardware and software warranty.

Hi there I bought a HTC sensation XE beats audio phone the screen wouldn't work so I have put a new digitizer plus new LCD display. After fitting these the touch didn't work still so I took apart and noticed that the clip had broke off where the ribbon slotted in so I bought a new top PCB board and transfered this into the handset but still the touch don't work. I did however find a small resistor stuck to the tape that was stuck on the ribbon that connects the 2 PCB boards together. Now it looks silver on the edges and is a cream colour in the middle its not a tiny 1 either so I could solder it back on but I have no idea where it goes as there's no obvious place it was fitted to. Has any body got some clear shots of the main PCB where the sim card fits ? Need to compare them please thanks

heyyy, why yo doin all these strange deedz??!
see, i'd got exactly the same issue (i think). all u need ta do is this:
use ur battery however u want all the way, til it gets shut down. n then put the battery out n press the power button like as if u were trying to turn on the phone, then let it stay still over a night (without the battery) then plug it in charge, but BEWARE YOU WILL NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN NO WAY UNTIL IT IS FULLY CHARGED!
now ur problem must be gone! mine did!

that pretty "thanks" button's waiting for u if i helped

I will put the phone back together and try that out but still want to know where that resistor goes lol
I have the dreaded "dust under screen" issue on my Sensation and getting too bad to ignore. I know there are many threads here and videos online for REPLACING the digitizer. As the digitizer is not damaged i want to lift it, clean and refit with 3M double sided tape. I cant find any video on removing and refiting without replacing the digitizer.
Does anyone know if:
The digitizer can be romoved without damaging the cable?
Remove without damaging/distorting the digitizer when seperating from the screen?
Can the digitzer be lifted off screen without disassembling the phone? (Preferred option)
I have searched and cant find any info both on XDA and elsewhere. I know the digitizers can be bought cheaply but id rather not have to take the phone apart to replace it.
it took me 1min to google for this

I guess you misread my post..... it would have taken less than a minute to read it properly.
I see lots of videos and info on replacing the digitizer but i dont want to do that. I asked for info on removing/lifting the digitizer without having to fit a new one. I want to know if anyone has done this without damaging the digitizer taking it apart from the screen. I have searched LOTS for the relevant ino but cant find answers.

well, if you want to remove the dust then that's the only way to do it..
Update
Just confirming that It is possible to remove and refit the digitizer without breaking it.

As shown in the many online videos and like the link posted above. Just dont cut the ribbon cable.
I bought a toolkit and 3m tape online. Really the only tools needed are a guitar pick(for seperating lcd/digitizer), torx bit, small flat screw driver or similar for prising plastic motherboard cover and a bic pen cap for lifting ribbon cable connectors and pulling cable out.
Must be disassembled as the digitizer cable has little slack for it to be lifted, Make sure you heat well with a hair dryer (heatgun not needed) and dont push the guitar pick too far in as it spreads the adhesive onto the lcd and back of digitizer. Be extra careful at the top corners as I slightly marked the area inside top left border. It can be hard cleaning both surfaces, if u ever fit a screen protector you will know what I mean, just twice as hard.
Powered up first time but left side of keyboard numbers were not working and screen was a bit slow to respond. Stripped phone again to check digitzer cable connections and all were ok.
Flashed a calibration file found on this site and its working fine now. S-OFF and Super CID are required for this so best to do before you start.
Note: Dust was getting in both sides on mine and gathering in the centre. When I cleaned the LCD I noticed, under the heavy dust gathered in the centre, the screen was permanently marked. I guess screen was burned but it cant be seen when the screen is on.
Why would you go through all this trouble? This is covered by your HTC Guarantee.
I allready had the screen replaced one time because of dust. Second time because my phone got sunburned (see sig.) and because dust and now on my "new"device I'm seeing dust again. Getting really tired of it. Haven't had a 100% good phone for 1 day during the first of 2 years contract

Except HTC never fixes this problem. Everytime I sent my phone to them, they just keep cleaning out the dust, nut of course it fills up with dust in a matter of weeks again.
Bought another phone off eBay, haven't looked back since. No dust, no nothing.

I bought my Sensation used so I had no receipt. Would probably have to go back to stock, S-ON, be without phone for a few weeks etc which was just too much hassle.
Really wasn't too much trouble and it can be done in 20mins.
