Hi I am hoping someone can help me, can anyone confirm that the correct model number for the 32GB version of the Verizon Galaxy S3 is SCHI535MBV?
And also that the 32GB is indeed on board and in addition to the SD card slot memory?
I am running around with my insurance company trying to get my phone replaced and they are saying that the 32GB version of the phone is 16GB on board and 16GB sd card which I am pretty sure is NOT correct.
Thanks
Joe
its 32gb internal and will support a 64gb external formatted to fat32....meaning this device will support 96gb of storage internal & external combined.
While i don't know about the model number the 32gb should all be onboard memory. Otherwise it is just a 16gb with a memory card which isn't the same thing.
Joe is your insurance company by chance backed by Global Warranty Group?... if so I'm having the same issue.. they keep sending me 16 gb versions with 16gb class 4 cards in them..

That's messed up... is this your own personal insurance, or insurance you got through VZW?
If someone could check their GSIII box, it should say the specific "i535..." over top of the bar code. I have a 16gb so I can't verify that model number. Also, I did online searches and that number may correspond to a specific size/color of the GSIII. I think there's a different number after "i535" for both gb sizes in blue and both gb sizes in white, therefore there are four in total model numbers.

Wow, sounds like some one is running a scam. A 16 GB S3 with a 16GB SD card is most certantly NOT equal to a 32 GB S3. I would never accept that as replacement.
Of course I probably wouldn't use a sketchy 3rd party insurance company either, outside of Assurion.
Good luck getting that sorted out, don't let em screw you.

Yes indeed it is Global Warranty Group. I purchased it through ensquared.com who I found out just outsource it to globalwarrantygroup.com to handle.
I have been going back and forth since 8/19/2012 now and have 2 16GB models sitting on my desk.

The 64gig card does not have to be FAT32, I left mine with the default format so I can copy files over 4 gigs to it & it works just fine.
Same here... mine got escalated to Antigone.. I guess she's the escalation department manger.. Next time I'm going to ask them to cut me a check and I'll go buy it from Vzw directly. I sent one back and now I have my broken one and the new one..plus my original claim was made on 8/17/12.. hopefully they get this figured out soon. You can look at my other posts to see the rest of my ordeal.. I'm vlogging as well as recording the phone calls.

That's true, but CWM works just fine to the internal memory so that's how I use it.
Then, I copy those backups to my PC occasionally.

Recording the phone calls won't do you any good unless you clearly inform the person on the other end that you are recording them. If you haven't been then they can only be used as personal reference for you, not for any lawsuit/court needs. You do realize that correct?

Why did you go 3rd party insurance as opposed to just using Verizons?? I use Verizons and would like to know if there is something lacking with it.

Yes, but is the person you're talking to in the same state? FCC steps in on interstate calls and says it's illegal without prior written or verbal consent. I see that you're in Oregon while the company is based in NY. So unless they outsourced their call center to a company in Oregon, you're SOL.
Far as the 3rd party insurance, how much is it compared to verizons?

Yeah, that ends up being cheaper than Verizons too I think... I cant remember offhand but I think theirs is 7-8 bucks a month so for two years thats either $168 or $192 for two years.
BTW, I did a little more digging about the recording, I got curious. It looks as if I was somewhat wrong, both Oregon and NY are single party notification(meaning you) and the FCC laws are unclear about interstate now that I looked closer. When they say it's illegal they also refer to Telephone companies doing it. I couldn't find any info on the FCC website pertaining to individuals specifically. If the company did outsource their call center to one of the 12 states that require dual notification then you can be SOL. Other than that it's a little fuzzy but leans towards legal from what I can tell.

The main reason I went with enSquared is cost. Since Verizon wasn't really Verizon and was outsourced to a third party, Asurion, it really didn't seem to matter to me about the 1st party/3rd party nature of it. Based on my math Asurion/Verizon would have cost about $366 for 2 claims vs enSquared $274. Both of these seemed to me to have similar coverages unlike someone like Square Trade who did not cover loss or theft.

So based on your experience so far with them, would you recommend signing up with them? And are the models they sent you refurbs or new? I didn't catch it if you've mentioned one way or another already.

I got my charge today, but they sent me a refurb and then gave me the battery and cover in the store since the standard kits were out of stock. Question is, with doing it that way i didn't get the 32 gb memory stick that i think most people are getting.
Wondering if anyone else had this happen and if you were able to call and get the memory stick from Verizon?

Try calling them. You should send the 16GB for Fascinate back along with the phone. Then ask for 32GB from them.
Same thing happened to me. Called multiple times to different tech support. Same answer. We are supposed to swap our fascinate card into the charge even though they are different sizes. People were not supposed to receive and 32 gb card it seems.
Thats what I've found out...called both local stores and both said to use the fascinate card...
Oh well the phone by itself was worth the free upgrade....

if you got a certified pre-owned, it is treated like any other warranty replacement: you just get the phone. Obviously, since you we're coming from a different model, you don't have the correct battery nor cover, so they gave you one free of charge. But the microSD is swappable, so you get to recycle yours. Those that were lucky enough to get a new Charge got everything all together as if they bought it new
I got a certified like new referb charges wed in the mail. It came with everything. The paperwork for the return phone said to send back only the phone, no accessories, no battery, no charger, no back cover so i kept the 16 gb card but sent the phone, battery and cover back as i have no use for them.

Is there difference between Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) and Certified Like New (CLN)? My receipt from the store had "CLNRSAM1510WKIT" on it when they placed my order, even though tech support said I would be getting a brand new Charge. I just want to know what to expect, package and accessory wise.

Also, has anyone decided that the Charge is not the phone for them and attempted to exchange it for the Inc2 or DX2? Is that even allowed?

I've wondered about the warranty too, if it carries over from the Fassy or starts new since its technically a 'new' phone... there are lots of people taking the Dinc2 but not so much the X2, check the forums for those two phones as well as the Fascinate and you'll see a lot of people swapping out

So I bought a phone off of some lady. $300. It was fresh. Initially it seemed like a good deal.
Everything was find up until 3PM today. My phone no longer connected to a network. After 8 hours of no service I called T-mobile from another phone and turns out my phone has been banned. I guess they lady that sold it to me stopped paying for the bills. Unless it was a scam from the start. Which it probably was. Now I have a $300 4.3" tablet.
Life is so bad for me, now. My Westone 3 just broke 2 months after warranty. College decided it wanted more money so I got 50% of my original grant. Governor Corbett sucks, btw.

Why are you sad?
Unused ram is not necessarily a good thing.
Unused ram = wasted ram
No, I called T-Mobile and they would not/cannot unblock it. Its frustrating how they think its right. They charged the original owner the full price and then they destroy the phone. If then they compare it to repossession of a car. Yeah, except that car is still in circulation and fully working and they don't take then take the remaining money. T-mobile are idiots if they think that analogy is right. If they are going to charge the full price then that person should own it.
Ok I've been see this a couple time and I'm kinda tired of people being mad at T-Mobile for people trying to save money from a non-T-mobile source and the phone don't work. That lady either one did not pay off her equipment installment plan(so she did not own it) or she did a fault claim saying she lost the phone or just never sent the phone back on a warranty claim. If a person buys a phone straight out T-mobile will not block the imei number unless the phone is reported stolen and the owner makes them block the imei. I have friends that work at T-mobile. It is no different than Verizon or Sprint phones that are report lost or stolen now.

Of you know who the lady is, email, phone number, etc... File a report and take her to small claims court. Lemon law doesn't just apply to dealers and corporations... If someone rips you off, you have a right to a refund...

The only other reason would be resale value and/or sellability... but probably still wouldn't make economical sense.
I made the mistake of having most of my stuff on the phone memory (sold my extSD card with my last phone) and it got wiped when my phone soft bricked and required an ODIN.
Now I have a class 10 64Gb SD card from BB ($49) and it's great.
It is worth to note that I had to format as Fat32 to get CWM to read it in recovery mode. Now ALL my data and backups are on the extSD card!!!

Here's an update
I went to Verizon this morning and presented my problem to the Tech. She is baffled. She proceeds to convene a veritable round table of management, techs and sales people. After some tense moments of deliberation, they offer me a 16GB Micro-SD card(note I believe they only carry class 6).
It takes all my composure not to fall to the ground in a seizure of laughter.
Now even if I didn't have a 64GB class 10, how would replacing the missing internal memory(high quality memory), with low quality class6 external memory even close to equivelant.
After noting my reaction, they proceed to offer a full replacement. Needless to say, I chose the latter

Ebay is full of fake SD cards. The card will probably show as being 64GB but it surely isn't.
Advice: don't use it at all. If stubborn: don't use it to store anything remotely important. You will lose data, again without any doubt.

It's no 64GB card. A card with genuinely that capacity can't be bought anywhere for that price. ALL those cards are fake. All of them, 100%.
But, if you're happy with it, great. No biggie.
Verify the authenticity of the card via Sandisk's Website
I bought mine at 2,300Philippine Pesos or 51.61US$ from a 3rd Party seller, and I've contacted a Rep via Online Chat from Sandisk itself, and after supplying them with the information regarding my Sandisk Ulta 64Gb, they confirmed it via the photos and the serial number of the card that I provided that it is indeed authentic. They even took the trouble or registering it and I now have a Lifetime Warranty for that Card!
Things to consider all the sandisk drives are made in china, also are these the ones that everyone was having issues with?? Quick way to pawn them off?? Honestly I would not touch these.. Despite the fact I could use a 64gb drive..
I used Samsung pay for the first time yesterday and it worked flawlessly just like the demos I've watched online but the merchant did not have a NFC terminal so they didn't understand how I was able to pay. At first they said "we don't have apple pay" so I explained the service I was using but then they asked me for my ID and credit card which brings me to the problem, they said your receipt card number does not match your physical card number. After some more explaining and handing my phone over to show the virtual card number which matched, I was finally able to complete my purchase. This is probably a one off situation but it almost makes me not want to use the service because of the huge hassle. Anyone else experience this?

I don't mind the ID part, I just feel like it defeats the purpose if I have to present my physical card which doesn't even have the same number as the one used for the transaction.

I'm sure it'll get better once more banks participate and more and more people use it.
I think the biggest problem right now is the limited number of banks/cards that can be used and therefore the use of Samsung pay is limited to a small percentage of Samsung owners.
No one seems to know about Samsung pay as a result.

Dont let one person discourage you from this. A receipt shows up on your phone for the purchase and because they are not up to date on technology outside of Apple Pay does not mean you should have to suffer.
Keep amazing people and enjoying your Samsung Pay I know I am:good:
I haven't had anyone ID me either. Though I have had a couple places where it didn't work. Such as the post office,7 eleven, and the dollar store. Other then that it works great. Anyone try redbox yet? Not sure how the whole Tokin thing works when your card can be charged after the initial transaction.

Anyone know when more banks will be added? I wanted to get the free wireless charging pad offer but I have no cards I can add to Samsung pay.
