TF700 3G version. Phone app? - Asus Transformer TF700

Just wondering if the new Asus TF700KL 3G version / 4G LTE version, that was just released in Germany on Vodafone, will have the phone app and the ability to make and receive regular GSM phone calls, like the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Anybody knows the answer ?

Why pay extra for LTE, just use the groveip app to make phone calls with wifi and tethering through your phone when you out side in the park. No aditional cost!

Is t-mobile data atleast halfway possible?

Ok I have simple mobile and using my inspire as I speak now I gotta ask...is there any way possible AT ALL I can get 3g speeds or even close. Weather I got to edit the build.prop file or not. I want somewhat decent speeds. Thanks in advance.

In short, the answer is no. Tmobile and Simplemobile require different hardware for 3g than at&t does. Edge is the best you will achieve with the Inspire on Tmobile or Simple.

Does the 3G version come with the phone app?

I.e., can I use the 3G version as a phone?
Yes

There are also several apps which will allow you to use the tablet as a phone without 3g.

[Q] No calls when on 4G?

4G is flying, but I have noticed my calls automatically go to voicemail when the RAZR is on the 4G network. It doesn't even have to be in use, they just get rerouted to voicemail. A friend doesn't have that problem on 4G with his SGS3 so I'm thinking it's not the network?

Definitely your device, I have my 4G on whenever the phone is on and haven't had a single problem. Actually, I had my tethering on a couple days ago using 4G and was browsing the web on my phone at the same time and when I got a call from the lady friend, the data connection continued without a hitch. Sounds like you may need to consider a replacement, unless someone else has some info I am not aware of. Good luck.
Same here I get calls while using 4G

Yup no problems getting calls when on 4G here either....
Telstra firmware made calls go through when in 4G but then mobile network had to be manually re-engaged... I flashed the JB from SFR and now no incoming calls. Seems to be a baseband/fw issue?
Anyway did flag it with my provider maybe it's a possible bug. Who knows.

Hmm... does sound like a baseband issue. I would almost try hard reset? I have never heard of this before. I'll stay active in this thread though if nothing is resolved via your provider. Nice speedtest, by the way
Doesn't work. I am going back to ics tonight this jb sucks on my Phone
Also, wipe and reset didn't work. I'll retry tonight.

what mobile phone should I use for tethering ?

Hi there,
What mobile phone should be best to use for tethering (as a router).
It will be 2 laptops, 1 mobile phone and tablet in use.
I am thinking about samsung galaxy i9000 would be enough speed without lag ?
Opinions ?

Note 3
Go with Samsung Galaxy Grand, i am sure you won't regret after buying that phone. BUT the choice is all yours.

Dual sim
Dual sim full active phone (DSFA) - one SIM card for tethering, second one to make sure you won't miss a call.

Any phone will work fine having Wireless-N standard and good reception(no obstacles).the less wind the more better.
I'm sure nearly any Android device has this feature and could easily cope with the load, get something with 4G though
Lenovo P780.. it seems has a giant battery
If its for home usage and you don't care about battery usage just get cheapest phone with fast connectivity (LTE 3G etc)
But if you want also battery life, get Note 3 :b

New Nexus 5 - network problem (a complicated one)

Hi
need your help, I have tried everything..
I can not connect to 3G
I tried to flash image factory/set correct APN setting with the operator/switch radios/replacing new SIM.
didn't helped my!
When I connect to 2G everything works for me, calls and online.
When I switch to 3G, I have no service, it writes me Unavailable operator.
It get stuck on the "Search" when I try to search manually.
When I try to go back to 2G, it is still stuck on "searching.." and I have no reception! Only reboot fixes it and I can go back to work with 2G.
It is important to note that when I take out the SIM I can find operator on 3G.
How can I fix the problem or even understand what it comes from?
I have Nexus tool kit, maybe I can sent you Catlog \ bugreprot?!
Thank You in Advance
What about, when you are in LTE ? Will you get 3G ? You should get either 3G or Edge (came to know that your country don't have LTE yet).

I don't have LTE in my country yet, and my operator only have 2G (no EDGE)
If you choose LTE on your phone, it supports all lower versions (i.e 3G / Edge) ! So you must get Edge (2G) !
LTE option doesn't force only LTE !

I know, if I choose LTE I get the same problem, no service..
Which network do you use?

This. The Nexus 5 very well may not support the 3G frequencies your network uses.
Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
I certainly know that this is not the problem, Nexus 5 is supported in my country
Should not be a problem with the 3G frequencies of both models 820 \ 821.
If that's the case, I'd recommend contacting your carrier.
