[Videoshot/Screenshot App]Record simultaneous screenshots of your droid!! - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

For those who want to show some app tutorials or a walkthrough of their phone or a ROM!!
!!!!!This app does not record ACTUAL VIDEO but instead, a line/batch of screenshots which you can put together in a video yourself!!!!
You will need the foll things:
1. JDK
First of all you will need to get JDK 1.6+ installed on your system.
NOTE: that you may need to manually add Java directory to your PATH variable if ddms and/or Ashot won’t launch.
2. Android SDK
Follow this link to get latest Android SDK for Windows platform.
Download installer_r12-windows.exe.
Launch downloaded installation package and accept defaults.
Click Finish to open SDK Manager.
Go to the next section to install USB Driver.
Note: Please remember the full path to the SDK for further steps. In this guide we will assume that SDK path is “C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows“.

}
3. Windows USB driver & Platform Tools
Here are the steps.
1.Please make sure your phone is NOT CONNECTED to your computer.
2.(Skip this step if you have SDK Manager running already after installation) Run SDK Manager.exe from SDK path. And wait until it has finished refreshing sources.
3.(Only on the first run of SDK Manager) Click Cancel since you don’t need anything but Platform-tools and USB driver for screen capture application.
4.Select Available packages on the left panel.
5.Expand the Android Repository and set check next to Android SDK Platform-tools.
6.Expand Third party Add-ons –> Google Inc. add-ons and set check next to Google USB Driver Package.
7.Click Install Selected.
8.Click Accept All to accept License and then click Install.
9.When install finishes, the USB Driver will be in “C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\google-usb_driver“.
10.Close SDK Manager.
11.Connect your phone. You will be prompted for driver, which is located in the path mentioned above.
For more details installing driver please visit http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html.
It could be the end story, but there are some extra steps:
Make sure that standard SDK tool ddms.bat (from C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\tools) launches successfully. Otherwise Screen Capture Tool won’t work either.
If ddms won’t launch, add the platform-tools to your system PATH variable like this: Right-click My computer –> Advanced –> Environment Variables –> select Path in System Variables box –> Edit –> append “;C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools” to the existing Path. Please note the semicolon “;” preceding the path being appended.
If ddms won’t launch even after you have accomplished the step above, try disconnecting your phone, then launch ddms and then connect your phone back.
And also:
Copy adb.exe from platform-tools to tools folder.
Also copy AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll from platform-tools to tools folder.
4. USB Debugging for Android
To capture screens from your Android phone, it needs to have USB Debugging setting activated.
On your Android device click Menu button.
Click Settings.
Click Applications
Click Development
Make sure USB Debugging is checked.
5. Android Screen Capture.
Wheeew. Now you have all set for Android Screen Capture.
1.Download latest installation package from SourceForge: Download
2.Run AndroidScreenCapureSetup.vX.X.exe.
3.Follow onscreen instructions.
4.When finished, run application and go to File -> Set Android SDK folder to set SDK path.
After you've recorded your session you can put those pictures into a video maker and it will look just like you've grabbed a video of your screen!!
Please post if something does not work on your device or your system and provide specific info
(Obviously this is not my own app but its good to discuss if there are common problems!!)
Thanks!

I just tried, and instead of a video it creates png images.
How to capture video?
EDIT:
Seems that I didn't understand well. The app doesn't create a video, just a batch of screenshots in the selected folder.

That's what it is....

You can just line up the screenshots into a video its one and the same

Yeah, it' s not exactly the same.
So, this is basic a screen capture app, not a video capture.
I think you must change the title because is misleading.
Nice app though, thanks.

Hit the button dude!!!

What??

I mean hit the thanks button...but today I noticed that you already did!

i will try it and let you know about the results

Yes its your bad. It works from any place on pc(desktop too), you prapobly have no adb tool directory in system path. You should.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html said:
The primary tools/ directory is located at the root of the SDK folder. Adding tools to your path lets you run Android Debug Bridge (adb) and the other command line tools without needing to supply the full path to the tools directory.
- On Linux, edit your ~/.bash_profile or ~/.bashrc file. Look for a line that sets the PATH environment variable and add the full path to the tools/ directory to it. If you don't see a line setting the path, you can add one:
export PATH=${PATH}:<your_sdk_dir>/tools
- On a Mac OS X, look in your home directory for .bash_profile and proceed as for Linux. You can create the .bash_profile if you haven't already set one up on your machine.
- On Windows, right-click on My Computer, and select Properties. Under the Advanced tab, hit the Environment Variables button, and in the dialog that comes up, double-click on Path (under System Variables). Add the full path to the tools/ directory to the path.

[GUIDE] All in one guide for everyone

So hi folks i m gonna create this guide which will solve everyone's problem in any matter
So before we start the things required are(with links):-
-Android SDK
-Microsoft Powerpacks
-Notepad++
-Photoshop or GIMP or any other photo editing software.
-Java JRE
-Cygwin
-Android Kitchen
-Android ApkTool
And will be updating when i come to the topic
Setting Up the ADT Bundle
The ADT Bundle provides everything you need to start developing apps, including a version of the Eclipse IDE with built-in ADT (Android Developer Tools) to streamline your Android app development. If you haven't already, go download the Android ADT Bundle. (If you downloaded the SDK Tools only, for use with an existing IDE, you should instead read Setting Up an Existing IDE.)
Install the SDK
Unpack the ZIP file (named adt-bundle-<os_platform>.zip) and save it to an appropriate location, such as a "Development" directory in your home directory.
Caution: Do not move any of the files or directories from the adt-bundle-<os_platform> directory. If you move the eclipse or sdk directory, ADT will not be able to locate the SDK and you'll need to manually update the ADT preferences.

ANDROID APKTOOL
Requirements:
Winows OS
Installed Java on Windows
Installed Microsoft Powerpacks
- Easy handling: Select your apk and push the "decompile" button!
- This tool makes modding much faster and easier, no cmd handling any more.

Setting up the Android kitchen
1. Before you do anything install the java jdk(find it in dsixda's thread)
2. Download and extract the cygwin_packages.zip provided by dsixda
3. Run the set up(make sure there is no previous cygwin installation)
4. Follow the kitchen read me txt!!!
5. local package directory *must* be the path to the cygwin_packages folder that you just extracted
6, when it shows all the package names, go to the top and select "all <-> default" until it changes to "all <-> install" (you must click on the arrows)
7. Run the cygwin at least once and close, now you will see a folder inside the cygwin installation like this: Home\your user name\
8. Download the kitchen and extract to the home\your user name\
9. Rename the dsixda-android-kitchen-*** folder to just "kitchen"
10. Now your ready to run the kitchen type:
Code:
cd kitchen(enter)
./menu(enter)
11. If you did things right you should see this:
Step Two: Setting up a working folder
1. First our folder structure should look like this:
Code:
cygwin folder/home/your user name/kitchen
2. Inside the kitchen it should look like this:
3. Now we need a rom to work on, for this tutorial. Place the original rom zip in the original_update folder inside the kitchen.
4.run the cygwin.exe again type:
Code:
cd kitchen(enter)
./menu(enter)
5.now enter option 1, enter again. You should see your rom listed, choose and enter
6.you will be asked about changing the working folders name, at this point it makes no difference so just continue.
7.you will be asked to convert to update-scrip do it and continue
8. Now you can view the roms info
9. congratulations you have a working folder!!!
Step Three :repackaging the rom
Now that you have made some changes it's time to test!!
1. Run the kitchen and enter option 99 - "biuld rom from working folder"
2. Choose mgldr or clk
3. I recommend that you go with all default options until you get more experience with the kitchen.
4. When its all done you will find a folder inside "cygwin/home/yousername/kitchen" called output_zip
5. Inside the folder is your new rom ready to be flashed and tested!!!

Capturing OTA Update URL For Noobs (No logcat required)

Capturing OTA Update URL For Noobs (No logcat required)
Hi guys this thread is for those people who want to capture the link for OTA Update but do not know how to read logcat. This is a very easy process i have made which involves root,xposed module...and 5 min (To get the link of the OTA ofcourse download is going to take time depending upon the length of the OTA update data.
Many people can't read logcat and get confused by it in this method you have to just press buttons only and nothing more....
Requirement-
-Rooted Device
-ADB Drivers
-Xposed Module
-Url Snooper (Windows Software)
-Reverse Tethering (Windows Software/Android Companion Apps)
-Little to no brains....:silly:
Note- If the ADB Driver Does Not work you need to find the driver which is compatible to your device online.
Links to the software makers-
-Xposed Module
-Reverse Tethering
-URL Snooper
The Links for the software and apps are in the attachment below-
I have broken the procedure into 6 post to help you understand better-
Press thanks if this helps
Install Computer Software
Follow the following procedure below to install URL Snooper and Winpcap-
1) Install URL Snooper
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) After the installation you will notice another setup opens automatically which is the winpcap setup install that too-
Setting up the Device
Now you need to set up your device-
1) Make sure that your Device is rooted
2) Make sure your ADB is installed (If you don't know what adb is then check it online and also make sure that adb drivers are installed in you computer)
3) First install Xposed Framework (link Above)
4) Go into the app and tap the Framework button
5) Then tap the "Install/Update" button and reboot
5) Then install USB Tunnel and hack connect Service app
6) After that again go inside the Xposed Framework and click the module button and then tick mark the hack connect service app (Don't click on the icon only click on the checkbox on the side
Preparing URL Snooper
Now you need to prepare the settings of URL Snooper such that you can use it to capture the right URL-
1)Start url snooper (In start Menu)
2) Now Go to files tab and click advance such that the interface would look like this
3) Now in the protocol filter change the show multimedia to show all.
4) You will see a lot of URL Click on clear results and then make sure none of your software are useing internet (Check background processes like utorrent also) also make sure none of your app in device is using internet also
Activating Reverse Tethering app
Now you download the reverse Tethering v3.19.zip file and extract it this software helps to transfer your internet connection from your computer to your device-
1) Connect the data cable from the computer to the device
2) Extract the zip and press the androidtool exe file
3) After that check that in the select a device section you will have something like 0123456789ABCDEF so but something must be there if not you don't have adb driver or your adb driver is incompatible. ADB Driver Link
4) Press the connect button and a script execution window shall popup
5) After which it would look something like this
Now to check open a browser and type any page a it should load and also a graph shall come under the download meter of the android reverse tethering software. Note- When you minimizse this app it minimizses in the system tray
Capturing Update Link
Now it is finally the time to capture the URL of the OTA Update.zip-
1) Just to be sure Again clear the results in the URL Snooper Software
2) Go to the the Update Location (It is mostly located in Settings->About tablet->Check for new version software) and press the download button after which it might ask you if you want to download through WLAN pres continue anyway button
3) The download will start
4) In the URL Snooper you shall see a new link associated with the GET zip protocol copy the link and paste it somewhere safe the close everything and download the zip file ( You can cancel the download in the device now if you want) GOOD LUCK
Note-i have heard somewhere that download accelerator like idm sometimes corrupt the download so be carefull.
Bonus Function
This post has nothing to do with the capturing the update but since these software are awesome i would like you to know all the awesome function of the software-
URL SNOOPER- This software can be use to detect all the url that comes into the computer from any software in the computer thus it can be used to download vedios that you might be playing or songs.(Use Multimedia filter)
The main reason i use this software is to download offline installer files of program. (In an online windows installer the setup first downloads the offline installer quietly in the temporary files folder located in the C drive and then deletes the file after the installation is completed) Some softwares do not provide offline installers so this is a nice way to leech the exe file and store it.
REVERSE TETHERING- This software can be used to provide internet connection to your device from you computer (Its usefull when you have a fast internet port but no wifi modem) you can use this to update apps browser net etc.....etc
HOPE THIS METHOD WILL HELP EVERYONE AND ALSO WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF FINDING OTA URL IN THE NET (IF YOU SEARCH ONLY NEXUS AND SAMSUNG URL ARE MOSTLY FOUND SINCE MOST OF THE DEVELOPMENT ARE PRESENT IN THAT DEVICE LINE)
PRESS THANKS IF THIS HELPS

Rooting Celkon A225
If drivers are properly installed rooting procedure is very simple. Download the 1 click rooter software from the download link below.
After Downloading the file follow below steps to root your mobile.
1. Enable USB Debugging in your Settings from Developer Options
2. Make sure you have installed properly. Now launch MTK Tools(Root Genius) that you have downloaded from above link.
3. Connect your Mobile with USB Debugging enabled and click on next. Then it will show as connected and you can see Root button if drivers were installed properly.

Install Touch Recovery
By Rooting with Root Genius(MTK tools) you will get a custom recovery in Chinese language. So I will recommend to install Carliv Touch Recovery(CTR) to make your recovery to look ultra modern. With this one you can navigate from touch in Recovery Mode.
Download and install CTR from link below.
Follow the Below steps to install touch recovery. Do not disconnect your mobile while installation is in progress.
1. Extract the archive to any folder.
2. Connect your Android mobile to PC with USB Debugging Enabled.
3. Run CTRv2.2.exe as administrator. Then it will show below message. Click OK when it shows the message(It will aumatically close if files are copied)
4. Then it will turnoff UAC and add some entries to registries as it needs some open port to access your android and update recovery from your PC. Click OK when it shows the message.
5. After that it will start porting. Make sure your android device is booted up and is connected to PC with USB Debugging enabled. Then click yes.
6. Wait for 2 minutes it will install the touch recovery automatically for you.
Now you can check your touch recovery by going to recovery mode ( use power + volume down when android is off) . That's All
Caution: Rooting/ Recovery installation is a risky process. Your Device may brick if its wrongly done. Keep your original firmware with you before going to this process to install your firmware in case if you got any problem.

3. Make sure your phone is booted and has adb debugging turned on and authorized. (you can test with adb-test.ps1)
4. Run Pixel_Updater_Win10 with Powershell - Wait like 3 minutes for it to finish, be patient.
5. Unlock your updated phone and Run Flash_Magisk follow the on screen instructions.
That's it. Let me know if anything isn't clear enough.

It worked like magic on my Pixel 6 Pro. Downloaded the Factory image, unzipped and ran powershell watching the helpfull notes in powershell as it progressed along the whole process. Thank you Northmendo!!!!!

To be honest, I hadn’t seen that. It looks like really nice work. I suppose this is not necessary, it was just a fun project I wrote for a friend and I. It does have some merit for someone who wants to easily be able to see the code. Just two powershell scripts makes it easy to read through. Not saying there’s anything wrong with the other app.
Brilliant!
September Update went smoothly on my Pixel6.
I had to remember when looking for the temporary Magisk patch that my device hides the SD folder, but shows the folder "pixel_updater_northmendo" as I scroll down. I clicked on it and it showed the boot.img with Jan,1, 2009 date.
It's awesome that your script "automagically" cleans out the folder so last months boot image is deleted.
Thanks Northmendo! You Rock
I was kind of late doing December's update, just completed successfully THANKS North Mendo!
For some unknown reason I had lost Developer options last Month. Had to tap tap tap a roo... and turn on USB debugging again.
Then the update went smooth as glass. I really like to watch your Power Shell code and helpful explanations go scrolling by.
Hope you and your family had a great Christmas ;-)
