It worked like magic on my Pixel 6 Pro. Downloaded the Factory image, unzipped and ran powershell watching the helpfull notes in powershell as it progressed along the whole process. Thank you Northmendo!!!!!
Great work! But is it neccessary when there is this.

To be honest, I hadn’t seen that. It looks like really nice work. I suppose this is not necessary, it was just a fun project I wrote for a friend and I. It does have some merit for someone who wants to easily be able to see the code. Just two powershell scripts makes it easy to read through. Not saying there’s anything wrong with the other app.
Brilliant!
September Update went smoothly on my Pixel6.
I had to remember when looking for the temporary Magisk patch that my device hides the SD folder, but shows the folder "pixel_updater_northmendo" as I scroll down. I clicked on it and it showed the boot.img with Jan,1, 2009 date.
It's awesome that your script "automagically" cleans out the folder so last months boot image is deleted.
Thanks Northmendo! You Rock
I was kind of late doing December's update, just completed successfully THANKS North Mendo!
For some unknown reason I had lost Developer options last Month. Had to tap tap tap a roo... and turn on USB debugging again.
Then the update went smooth as glass. I really like to watch your Power Shell code and helpful explanations go scrolling by.
Hope you and your family had a great Christmas ;-)

I made a Backup & Recovery Script in the German Android Hilfe Forum for the Galaxy 3.
The Tool make a flashable Rom with 3 Clicks and Restore the Backup with one Flash and one Click.
The Script restores all Apps, app Data Google Account and Wifi key´s.
How To:
1. Unzip the Alexgalaxys G3 Recovery v2.3.zip wherever you want
2. Plug your Phone in USB Debugging Mode to you Computer
3. Start the Backup.bat
4. Grant Superuser Permissions (6 or 7 times)
5. Your backup is finished
In the "Alexgalaxys G3 Recovery v2 Final" Folder now is a CustomRom.tar.
Flash it as One Package.
If the Phone is started plug the Phone in Usb debugging mode and Run the Recovery.bat after it is complete you have to reboot you Phone.

Does this effectively restore data?
You overcame the bootloop then ?
Why the 3/2 step approach ?
It dont restore the complete /data partition,
if i would do this it would give a bootloop.
It Restores the apps, app data wifi keys and some other informations.
@Bubble-be
If i run the 3 Scripts in only one script it doesnt work.
I tryed to make it one click but it dont work, i dont know why.
And it dont will give a bootloop
So I just studied the files, and it is almost the exact same thing as my backup method, except it is all adb

I saw you reuploaded. Don't even use this code. It isn't needed in any of them. My advice? Delete them
Code:
Call .\adb.exe
or
Code:
Call .\tar.exe
It looks cleaner.
Also, would you like me to create a DOS gui for it?
Ok thanks,
i will delete the codes in the next version
And a gui would be really nice

Okay new version 2.3 online, now the tar.exe will make a flashable .tar one package
Tried .update.bat closes
Can u give clean steps to do it..
Thanks
You mean the Backup.bat ?
Ok i will write a How to but my English is not very good
For those who want to show some app tutorials or a walkthrough of their phone or a ROM!!
!!!!!This app does not record ACTUAL VIDEO but instead, a line/batch of screenshots which you can put together in a video yourself!!!!
You will need the foll things:
1. JDK
First of all you will need to get JDK 1.6+ installed on your system.
NOTE: that you may need to manually add Java directory to your PATH variable if ddms and/or Ashot won’t launch.
2. Android SDK
Follow this link to get latest Android SDK for Windows platform.
Download installer_r12-windows.exe.
Launch downloaded installation package and accept defaults.
Click Finish to open SDK Manager.
Go to the next section to install USB Driver.
Note: Please remember the full path to the SDK for further steps. In this guide we will assume that SDK path is “C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows“.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Windows USB driver & Platform Tools
Here are the steps.
1.Please make sure your phone is NOT CONNECTED to your computer.
2.(Skip this step if you have SDK Manager running already after installation) Run SDK Manager.exe from SDK path. And wait until it has finished refreshing sources.
3.(Only on the first run of SDK Manager) Click Cancel since you don’t need anything but Platform-tools and USB driver for screen capture application.
4.Select Available packages on the left panel.
5.Expand the Android Repository and set check next to Android SDK Platform-tools.
6.Expand Third party Add-ons –> Google Inc. add-ons and set check next to Google USB Driver Package.
7.Click Install Selected.
8.Click Accept All to accept License and then click Install.
9.When install finishes, the USB Driver will be in “C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\google-usb_driver“.
10.Close SDK Manager.
11.Connect your phone. You will be prompted for driver, which is located in the path mentioned above.
For more details installing driver please visit http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html.
It could be the end story, but there are some extra steps:
Make sure that standard SDK tool ddms.bat (from C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\tools) launches successfully. Otherwise Screen Capture Tool won’t work either.
If ddms won’t launch, add the platform-tools to your system PATH variable like this: Right-click My computer –> Advanced –> Environment Variables –> select Path in System Variables box –> Edit –> append “;C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools” to the existing Path. Please note the semicolon “;” preceding the path being appended.
If ddms won’t launch even after you have accomplished the step above, try disconnecting your phone, then launch ddms and then connect your phone back.
And also:
Copy adb.exe from platform-tools to tools folder.
Also copy AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll from platform-tools to tools folder.
4. USB Debugging for Android
To capture screens from your Android phone, it needs to have USB Debugging setting activated.
On your Android device click Menu button.
Click Settings.
Click Applications
Click Development
Make sure USB Debugging is checked.
5. Android Screen Capture.
Wheeew. Now you have all set for Android Screen Capture.
1.Download latest installation package from SourceForge: Download
2.Run AndroidScreenCapureSetup.vX.X.exe.
3.Follow onscreen instructions.
4.When finished, run application and go to File -> Set Android SDK folder to set SDK path.
After you've recorded your session you can put those pictures into a video maker and it will look just like you've grabbed a video of your screen!!
Please post if something does not work on your device or your system and provide specific info
(Obviously this is not my own app but its good to discuss if there are common problems!!)
Thanks!
I just tried, and instead of a video it creates png images.
How to capture video?
EDIT:
Seems that I didn't understand well. The app doesn't create a video, just a batch of screenshots in the selected folder.

Yeah, it' s not exactly the same.
So, this is basic a screen capture app, not a video capture.
I think you must change the title because is misleading.
Nice app though, thanks.

What??
I mean hit the thanks button...but today I noticed that you already did!

DOES IT WORK? I am yet to receive my SGN3, so I haven't been able to test.
I made this tool originally for SonyEricsson Xperia X10, but have now modified it to work for our Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I hope it will make life a little easier when modifying files on the device. It uses ADB to pull and push files, change file permissions and much more - so users don't need to remember long command prompt/terminal emulator commands! It also has a nifty little application manager, which allows for quick installation, backup, and removal of both pre and self -installed software. It has a LogCat function to read and save logs on the go when investigating errors, as well as functionality to decompile/recompile APK, JAR and ODEX files, sign and zipalign APKs, and decompile System images. Finally, straight ADB shell access is integrated.

2. Extract archive.
3. * Install LinuxReader to GalaxyS3ModTool\tools\LinuxReader.
4. Run SGN3ModTool.jar!
*This step is only needed for the Decompile System function in the ROM Manager.
Note: Make sure your phone is connected in debug mode, you have root privileges, and unsecured your device's shell. The application will try to unsecure your shell if you haven't already, but worst case scenario you might have to do this manually.
Also, the manage ROMs functionality is still experimental, and the Recompile System function is disabled. If you know how these processes can be automated, let me know and I will incorporate the functionality.
If you have problems, let me know and I will try to sort them out with you. Keep in mind that often when a modification goes wrong, you can simply push back the original files and reboot. So keep backups handy!
Reserved in case of future expansion.
Very interesting, will test when i get back home. Thanks!
Sound good mate. I'll give it a go I reckon
Wow sounds awesome thank you very much
Does it backup app data as well? This looks very promising. As it is java based, would it work on other platforms?

this actually does work!
if somone still wants to use it for whatever reason you can:
get a kernel that is not SElinux enforcing (permissive).*
get adb insecure by chainfire and switch to insecure mode.
be sure that in the app it says:
Binary: Insecure
USB debugging: Enabled
should work, at least for me it did.
not sure if every custom kernel(permissive) works.
*lastest wanam exposed module has an experimental feature to set the selinux to permissive.
i havent tried it but maybe you can do the above with stock kernel and just setting permissive mode in wanam.
edit: does not work with stock kernel, at least for me.
i have not tested every function of this tool but connecting, pushing, pulling and so on work.
there are other tools that can do that, i wrote this just for information.
works well here! well done
cant get it to work on mac
thanks MrRusch for your great work!
I am a newbie about these stuff so forgive me if these are questions are stupid~
I was trying to use it to deodex the SamsungChineseIME apk and I got 2 questions want to ask.
1. when it asks for "Install Framework?", I choose the framework-res.apk extracted from my rom. But I also notice there is a twframeworkres.apk in the rom, do I need to include that also?
2. I came to a prompt asking me for "Select framework directory to reference" (as attached screen), I was hold back since I don't know what to choose for this.
Thank you again for your effort and this great tool!

doesnt seem to work with me - it cant establish an adb connection with my phone
no problems using other adb tools
if I run adb devices from a cmd promp it detects my phone
also each time I run the program it asks me to keep replacing files then it brings up an error about adb files (but these files are in the folder)
iv attached screenshots
edit
ok so iv done some more testing - turns out this app wont work if you have an adb emulator installed - for example if you have bluestacks installed make sure you end task it or exit the programme before running this else it wont work as it will get confused between the physical adb device and the emulator
Still get the error messages about files and asking to replace files at each start up
once I disabled the emulator it works fine in terms of connection however the screen shot feature I still cant seem to make work
It now says it has successfully taken a screenshot but the screenshot is not in the folder
edit again - ok so you put the screenshot bug in your pdf file as a bug but it would be helpful if you actually put the bugs on the op of this thread
Your screenshot prog looks just like ADB ScreenCapture by majdinj xda - it gives exactly the same read outs
The android screen monitor is basically a copy of droidATScreen which I have put in the attachment however droidAtScreen can also take screenshots and continuous screenshots too
Well Done!! GONNA TRY THIS.
Great work
gonna try this good work
@marcussmith2626
You are not typing "x" to exit. So integrated cleanup is not executed. So you get that overwrite error.
Now delete all files (except toolkit exe and readme) and try again.
I ask you to go through Readme file which explains bugs and why they are in programme.
My programme is much similar to majdini's because ff2png (file used to take screenshot in recovery) used by him and me is taken from same source (GPLv2 licenced).
Also screenshot terminal command is universal for all androids.
I didn't knew about majdini's programme. But when you mentioned it, I checked his one. My commands are differently expressed (commands same as explained above, but code is different). If you use his code sometimes there is error.
But my code does not give error in batch format.
(but problem is after exe conversion, this has a bug. Check readme for more info).

to aviod the error of the adb files you have to run program as administrator
you should include run as admin in your exe file in future builds
Sorry bro, real bad CMD to EXE converter you use, I could easily find your .bat file here:
EDIT: Removed.
as far as your ADB device select is concerned use the command (adb.exe -d) this will direct the adb to the first USB ANDROID ADB Device
and I would like to know Setup program you used...
This is a messy post, do as you please with it. I am not responisble for ang damage to your device. Additionally, I dont take any credits for any of this, I just put everything together here.

» Non-rooted devices
Magisk 14.0 introduces a new and neat method to install on non-rooted Android devices. This new process doesn’t require your device to be rooted, nor does it require a custom recovery like TWRP. But for this method to work, your device must have the stock boot.
But for this method to work, your device must have the stock boot.img dump placed in the internal storage.
Make sure that you enable USB debugging and setup ADB access first, you will need it later in the guide.
Download Magisk Manager 5.3.0: Link
When the APK has been downloaded, use a file manager to install it. Now run the app from the app drawer.
Go to the app settings and tap on “Patched Boot Output Format”. You can select “.img.tar” if you will be using ODIN to flash the file or else simply select “.img” for the rest of the devices.

Go back to the app main screen and tap on the “Install” button. Go to INSTALL > PATCH BOOT IMAGE FILE.
Navigate through the storage and select the stock boot.img file. As soon as you select the stock boot.img file, the app will download the installer to patch the image.
Once the process is complete, you can tap on the “CLOSE” button.
Your new and patched boot image now include root and support for modules. So the last step is to grab this boot file and flash it your device via fastboot or ODIN (Depending on the output format you chose in step #4).
Connect your device to the PC via USB cable and navigate to the Magisk Manager folder inside the storage. Your “patched_boot.img” file will be present right there. So copy it to your PC.
Move the “patched_boot.img” file to C:/adb folder. And type in the following command to boot your phone into bootloader/fastboot mode:
adb reboot bootloader
Once your phone enters the bootloader/fastboot mode, enter the command to flash the file:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
Finally, reboot your device:
fastboot reboot
That’s all, you have just installed one of the most trending mod out there and especially on your non-rooted device without any need of a custom recovery. Isn’t it great? Tinker around with the app and see what all things you could do.
I can confirm this is working! Thank you!

I know it's been some time since this was discussed, but I am trying to go through this process. Can you confirm that you unlocked the bootloader on 8.0 with the Asus tool? Or did you install magisk without unlocking the bootloader (if that's possible)?
thanks
I don't think the unlocker tool works anymore.
