So I have my gt rooted and running a nightly build of CM10. However I noticed a few little issues, the dock/keyboard doesn't seem to be working. As well as "peel" the remote app. I personally didn't like the app much but its the only thing I know of that can use IR blaster.
Any tips on getting either or both of these issues fixed?

Same issue here. No resolution, so far.
Shinzul supposedly fixed this in builds 5 and 6 of his gginggerbread roms, but that fix may not have made it into the official CM code. You should post this problem in the nightly thread if you want it to get any attention.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729802
I had that same problem with the early builds of CM7. Its working for me now though on nightly build 6.

mine runs but when the on screen remote controls appear they do not respond.
Or the USB adapter...
For the record, I searched, I read, I didn't want to have to register to post.
Sorry.
My suspicion was the default Samsung keyboard apk needed to be installed in order for the keyboard to function...but what about the USB adapter, then?
So...alright...what default Samsung crapware needs to be installed in order for them to work?

Anybody?
Bueller?
100 people have seen this'd and I can't even get a "Me too!" or a "I'll take a guess..."?
I'll take a "Here's that Samsung keyboard API, hope that helps!" If anyone's got it.
Come on XDA, don't make me be the **** that cross posts this...

Me too
Not really.
If I had the keyboard I could get it working for you.
Try some apps from the play store. Has to be something that will make it work.
I read somewhere in the forum about option in setting of samsung keyboard to activate or deactivate hard keyboard or hardware keyboard may be this is the option you need to activate but i think you need samsung keyboard first try this link for keyboard but make a nandroid backup first

Tried this. I get an application not installed error every time. Apparently I need to deox the APK and bundle it with some xmls of the stock ROM, or something of that ilk. Not fully sure of what to do there. There really has to be a better solution...

Well, I appreciate the solidarity, if not the unhelpful knowledge that you could fix the problem if it was your problem. Not helpful, but supportive. So to you, I give a hearty thumbs up.

I have the same issue, though I'm using CM10. I think there will be more and more similar posts as more people buy this bundle.

That'd be nice.
How's CM10 treating you? I didn't like the notification bar at the top like my cellphone. I've gotten used to it in bottom drawer. What build are you using?

I love CM10, but I went back to stock so I can use the keyboard. Also the IR blaster doesn't work, not that I care about that. If the keyboard problem is resolved, I will def go back to CM10. I used a nightly from around 22 August.
That's why I went back to stock...

AOKP JB ROM now supports Student Edition Keytboards!
Get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841177
I have been using this now for a day or so, and it is an awesome ROM. Jelly Bean based.
The keyboard works for the most part, but for right now here is what works and what doesn't:
Internet - Works
Mail - Works
Lock Screen - Works
Volume keys - Works
Menu Key - Works
All numerical and letter keys - Works
Search key - Works
Home - Not Working
App key - Not Working
Brightness keys - Not Working
The devolper adds:
"I also sent this to codeworkx as well, so the CM10 folks should see the keyboard working soon."

Do you happen to know how they managed to get the dock working at all? I would be interested in producing a port-agnostic update zip so that people can move off of stock if they do not like Touchwiz. I know there's some limitation regarding a hardware driver, or something of that ilk, but I don't know the specifics.
I have no idea I'm afraid, but you could check with the developer of AOKP, cmenard.

I have no Idea how this would be done but I don't think it would be that hard to reverse engineer a driver for the keyboard.

Oh, ok. Thats great.
I have a GS3 and my wife has a HOX. Every time I try to share a picture via the beam, it fails and my phone says that the receiving device does not support transfer of large files. I am able to share chrome bookmarks, though. I'm running 4.1.2 and she's running stock ICS. Thoughts on how to fix this?

I've never got NFC to work on this thing stock or rooted
It has the feature. And I know it can transfer SOME data.

Ive heard about s3 and one NFC not liking each to well
Large file transfer isn't supported on ICS. I tried to transfer a pic from my Nexus 4 to my friend's One X (ICS) and later to my other friend's GSII. You can only do links on ICS (unless they have Touchwiz Nature UX) and other small files. That will be updated come JB. It does work from my Nexus 4 to another Nexus 4 however. Company has nothing to do with it.

An official release? For AT&T.. nobody knows, and quite frankly I am done with AT&T.
/endrant
Telstra will be releasing theirs around 24th of December http://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/Device-Updates/Handset-updates-14-December/td-p/107834
So you could root and SuperCID her phone and flash the Telstra RUU, or wait for a dev to release a JB Sense version, or wait for AT&T (who knows when that will happen)
The reason Sammy devices can beam anything bigger than an URL is because of their own in-house app, S Beam. Basically uses NFC to create a BT connection between the two devices. This allows two Sammy devices to send larger files. We can achieve this as well, I've used "Send!" from the Play Store with great success. Use it with my gf's HOX as well to beam over pictures, videos and music files. This app basically does what S Beam does, so you'll need the app on both phones.
I'm not an Android expert so I may not understand this, but I'm not running the stock Rom for my GS3. I'm on cm10. Does the S-beam really matter?

S-beam/Android beam creates a WiFi direct connection for larger files, and Bluetooth for smaller files I would assume.
I've never gotten it to work on our device, so I would assume its a ROM/kernel issue. Wifi direct is not that popular so it hasn't been worked on

I stand corrected, thank you. S Beam does use WiDi as well. S Beam, though, is based on Android Beam, just goes the one step further in creating a WiDi/BT connection for larger files. From what I've read, Android Beam is only useful for sending very small (i'm talking kilobytes) files/URLs.

S Beam is a Samsung exclusive app. I haven't seen it be ported to any other ROM that's not based on a TouchWiz ROM.
I'm thinking of purchasing this phone for my mom as a gift. How does this phone run with CyanogenMod 10? I understand the International galaxy s2 have some issues with hardware composer. I'm under the impression that this phone has a different processor. Can anybody shed some light on if there any quirks with cyanagenmod 10 and the phone?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I don't run CM10, so I can't answer your question. But I'll ask you another one:
Why do you want to install CM10 on this phone? If you're looking for speed and stability, you can just use the "factory leak" soon-to-be-official JellyBean.
I prefer AOSP, but I could look into that as well if it fits her usage scenario.

CM10 works fine. I've been using it as my daily driver for months now. The only real issue is the occasional random reboot. Doesn't happen too often though. Another one is tap to focus in the camera doesn't work. Other than that though, nothing else that I can think of that I encounter on a day to day basis. Everything else is smooth.

Did the SG3 have GPS problems and the beginning of its development? Currently the Note 2 is having problems and we think it is the fact that the driver only works with touch wiz. Seeing how the GPS is probably exactly the same as the Note 2, we may be able to fix it. Does anyone remember?
