[Q] CM 10 stability - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I'm thinking of purchasing this phone for my mom as a gift. How does this phone run with CyanogenMod 10? I understand the International galaxy s2 have some issues with hardware composer. I'm under the impression that this phone has a different processor. Can anybody shed some light on if there any quirks with cyanagenmod 10 and the phone?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I don't run CM10, so I can't answer your question. But I'll ask you another one:
Why do you want to install CM10 on this phone? If you're looking for speed and stability, you can just use the "factory leak" soon-to-be-official JellyBean.

I prefer AOSP, but I could look into that as well if it fits her usage scenario.

CM10 works fine. I've been using it as my daily driver for months now. The only real issue is the occasional random reboot. Doesn't happen too often though. Another one is tap to focus in the camera doesn't work. Other than that though, nothing else that I can think of that I encounter on a day to day basis. Everything else is smooth.

Help, hope maclaw noticed

I cant post a reply to maclaw forums so I started here
I am using cm9 beta 10
I turn off the heptic feedback, but why my devices still vibrate whenever I touch the menu button? Any solution everyone?
And then my devices couldnt sent short messages anymore
It really annoying that I must try to resend the sms for many times before the messages sent
I tried using GoSmsPro and using custom smsc
But it still doesnt work, but everytime I put my sim card in another devices, I can send short messages (sms) without any problem
Wifi tether dont work but it's not a problem since I can use another tether application
Thats all what I found
Anyone can help?
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english

Sounds like a bug with the ROM. Have you tried installing a earlier version of Cyanogenmod, CM7 for example, and seeing if the issue persists?
No I haven't
CM9 is my first custom rom I try

Then I would recommend trying CM7. If the issues disappear, then you know it's an problem with CM9. If they don't then you know it's an problem with your phone. Either way, you'll be in a better situation than you are currently.
I tried CM7 briefly and didn't have the issues you mentioned. Give it a try.

For the phones that maclaw develops for, cm7 is much more stable...
And he has started dev-ing for cm10 (which is better, compared to cm9), why bother with reports for cm9 then...

Well, even I follow that thread, and I do remember seeing a similar solution/problem in the thread itself...
Have you used the search function in the thread?
Yes I already using search function
And the solution is install GoSMS and using custom SMSC
I did and it still not working
While on the other phone my sim would send sms without any problem

CM10 gt 2 7

So I have my gt rooted and running a nightly build of CM10. However I noticed a few little issues, the dock/keyboard doesn't seem to be working. As well as "peel" the remote app. I personally didn't like the app much but its the only thing I know of that can use IR blaster.
Any tips on getting either or both of these issues fixed?
See this

Also keyboard due to proprietary drivers wish fixed soon

Bad service?

Alright, so currently I am on aokp milestone 5 and I've been getting very poor WiFi and 3g/4g signal.
Is anyone else having that issue?

My service has been top notch, but I am on Paranoid rom.
Anyone of aokp who has bad signal?

I flashed the stable version of CM10 last night from stock ICS 4.0.4 and my signal sucks. I tried flashing the new VRLJ1 Radio + RPM and still nothing. I used to get 3-4 bars at home now I barely get 2.
I am looking for a ROM that can fix this problem.
Let me know if you find a fix.
Thanks
You might want to check w/vzw to see if work is being done in your area (towers down, etc). My signal has been solid and improved on eclipse 4/new j1 radio. Was on liquid 7 prior with no issues signal wise. If anything signals are improving.

Great advice to follow, sometimes its not always your radio but rather maintenance, if the problem arose switching to your said ROM, ask in that specific if anyone else has the same problem, or switch between radios and see what works for you. It is known that not all radios are great for everyone, sometimes an old one works better for specific people in different areas

Fwiw- aosp ROMs don't seem to have the signal strength compared to touch wiz ROMs. Until ril and kernel source is released there's going to be this issue. However, after flashing the latest jellybean radio I've had much better data and phone signal reception.

So I should switch to a TW ROM in order for the service to improve?

I to have bad signal. At my house my phone jumps from 4G to 3G. I do not have problems with the phone everything else work flawlessly.
My wife has an old 3G phone (first gen) it works great. My old 3G Driod X gets great signal. The wife got a LG Envy 4G phone a few weeks ago. Always has 4G she even gets 4G on the bottom floors of the hospital. My SIII get no service. I think it is a Samsung thing my self.
Samsung doesn't have the best radios, that's for sure.
That being said TW is definitely the way to go if you're in a fringe area. AOSP just can't do it right yet...which is really annoying...
Why are folks comparing signal bars? Its been said time after time that its meaningless. The only way to compare is go into settings/about device and look up the signal -db. I can gurantee aosp signal is no worse than touchwiz...now in fringe coverage areas i believe touchwiz is still slightly better.

GPS problems

Did the SG3 have GPS problems and the beginning of its development? Currently the Note 2 is having problems and we think it is the fact that the driver only works with touch wiz. Seeing how the GPS is probably exactly the same as the Note 2, we may be able to fix it. Does anyone remember?

Google hangouts no outgoing audio

Hopefully this is the right spot. With the new hangouts replacing gtalk, on my gs3 and also on my daughters galaxy player 5, the outgoing audio is not working. My nexus 10 works perfectly.
Galaxy player 5 is running completely stock GB ROM and is rooted.
Gs3 is running paranoid android
Nexus 10 is actually running the same version of paranoid android but audio is working perfect.
Anyone else having this issue on smaller resolution phones. Its weird hangouts works better on I phones than it does on googles own.
Hopefully someone knows how to make this work.

I'm having the same issue w/ a GSIII running CM10.1. I'm guessing this will turn out to be related to the mapping of the different mics to different functions but we shall see.
Well at least I'm not the only one. So there isn't any fix as of now?

I have a gs2 running Cm 10.1. Also glad im not the only one. My wife's rooted stock ROM Note2 doesn't have this problem tho

*** Update: This is bug CYAN-1192. I'd post a link but the forum won't let me because I don't have enough posts to earn that privilege.
Having the same problem on my GS3 running CM10.1 RC2. My rooted Nexus 7 running the stock ROM is working great. All other audio apps appear to work fine on the GS3.
I'll keep looking for a solution.
Any update? October 2014
My mic doesn't works in Viber and Hangouts, but works in Skype, phone calls and any other.
Do you have any solution?
Maybe return to M10?
