Serious and weird Wi-Fi issue - HTC Sensation

I am having a serious Wi-Fi issue with my sensation 4G.
When i turn on Wi-Fi, it shows a list of available networks for about 5 seconds and then all available networks go away and it doesn't show anything! even if i choose to scan it still wont find anything (even though there are networks and it found them for five seconds).
I have tried with and without sim card, and with different radios but still having the same problem! I have sensation 4G (tmobile) and i am running ICS TMO ROM (rooted).
Does anyone know how to solve this?
Or is anyone else having the same problem?

Apparently there is a Wi-Fi fix for this problem.
But it seems that some of the ROMs have this problem solved already. Does anyone know which firmware or what OTAs have solved this problem?!

Sensation XE ICS WiFi/3G data issues

I've S-OFF'ed my Sensation XE and have installed ICS as per thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538032
So this is the official ROM I've installed:
OTA_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.105-1.73.401.4_P_release_246589q3t6rh79ci68p68k.zip
All flashed OK, but my WiFi is very unreliable.... 3G isn't that reliable either.. seem to have to reboot the phone to get it working every day or so.
I have tried resetting the phone, but still the same.. thinkiing about going back to Gingerbread...
Anyone else having similar issues?
Thanks
I'm not using the official ROM but ARHD which is based on stock.
I haven't had problems with 3G and WiFi (apart from it turning on randomly).
Does your WiFi and 3G turn off and not reconnect?
ive been having mobile data connection problems with pretty much every ics rom ive tried. its confused/frustrated me as no one will will address the issue or offer any possible solutions. only fix ive found is going to phone info and turning radio off then on, also try resetting apns to default.
@cory0821 : Exactly the same issue.. turning data on and off (either wifi radio or enable/disable mobile data) seems to 'usually' fix the issue, other times it just doesn't work until I reboot.
The other issue I have is that if I leave the WiFi on when it's 'sleeping' - it kills that battery. i.e. WiFi consume 30-40% of battery within 10 hrs.
And if I go into the advanced setting to turn off WiFi when sleeping - it makes the above data issue much worse.
I am very happy with ICS on the Sensation XE in terms of smoothness and functionality, apart from I no longer have working data... I think my next question is how to I get back to Gingerbread at it's not really workable at the moment as a Smartphone.
I'm glad it's not just me as HTC might fix it, but surprised that more people are not having the same issue.
WiFi doesn't turn off... it connects to my home WiFi without any issue (and at work), but even though it's connected, none of the apps seem to be able to send or receive data.
I had the same problem with Wi-Fi after flashing ICS. After asking many times in several threads I finally learned that if you are with T-Mobile ICS will not support Wi-Fi. I don't know the technical details, but I was told T-Mobile had to release an official "T-Mobile" ICS before Wi-Fi would work correctly. No one seems to know when the official version will be released.
I am running coredroid v5 ICS and wifi and wifi calling are now working with tmobile. There are some times that wifi calling is not working 100%, but the wifi network for market, e-mails etc. is working great.

[Q] Wifi to LTE handoff problem (Rogers)

When I leave a wifi network (physically), instead of the phone recognizing that it's no longer got a wifi connection and flipping to LTE, it thinks it's still on a wifi network.
The only way for me to get my connection back is to temporarily toggle wifi off. Both Wifi and LTE seem to work fine otherwise.
Anyone else experience this?
Very common bug. Hoping an ota comes out soon.

Appologies, my searches didn't turn anything up somehow. Need to take Google 101 again, I suppose.
Good to know I'm not alone with this bug.

My AT&T One X looses network connectivity PROBLEM

Hi,
I have an HTC One XL from AT&T.
It is SIM UNLOCKED and BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED. It is running CleanROM.
The problem is that my phone looses 3G connectivity and the only way to recover it it's rebooting the phone. The 3G still shows but there is no activity and the apps try to connect until they say "network problem".
I don't use it on AT&T as I live overseas. I do not have LTE so my phone is set to "WCDMA preferred"
I tried with other roms (CyanogenMOD 10, MIUI, etc.) and with almost every RADIO (flashing them with TRWP Recovery and wiping cache/dalvik after).
When 3G/HDSPA works, internet works really fast... but then it "disconnects" and everything sucks.
What do you recommend?
Best Regards.
Not a fix, but have you tried turning airplane mode on/off rather than restarting your phone?
I used to get this problem constantly with stock. Once I installed Viper, I haven't had a problem since. Don't know enough about radios to tell you if a new rom flashes a different radio though.
Try going into recovery, and wiping cache and Dalvik. Similar to area51avenger, I've had this same problem on a couple ROMs, and wiping cache and Dalvik fixed it. Might not work for everyone, but it can't hurt.
My friend i aleady tried that without any good result.

do you have the right APN? if you dont have the correct apn for the LTE network then it will drop connection whenever it searches for one. Maybe just run on WCDMA/gsm instead of WCDMA/GSM/LTE. It solved the problem for me on rogers here in Canada on cleanROM
I have the right APN.
Here we dont have LTE so I run the phone in WCDMA/GSM only... no LTE
Problem persist.
Also replace the phone IS NOT AN OPTION

Is there something like fast dormacy?
Please, need help.
I've had the same experience on both rooted and non-rooted HOX's with various ROMs. I have concluded that it has nothing to do with the ROMs and more to do with the HOX itself but only when not on LTE. Before LTE was turned on in metro Detroit I had this problem constantly. I use the Airplane mode trick to resolve the issue in most cases. Now when I'm in an LTE coverage area my data is very reliable but as soon as I'm somewhere that doesn't have it (rural areas or inside with a poor signal) that ugly problem returns. It sucks because it's clearly a widespread issue that may never get resolved and I don't know who to hate at this point.

[Q] OPO won't receive calls or SMS when on wifi

Having some issues with receiving calls and SMS on my OPO when connected to my home wifi router, I have searched forums and official OPO forums bit have had no luck finding a solution.
Im from the UK and use virgin mobile (uses the EE network), router is the virgin superhub if that makes a difference
Problem seems to have been happening since I got the phone (begining of Dec 14) but I only became aware of it around new year, girlfriend has an OPO also and does NOT have this issues.
Phone is the global model running stock cyanogen 44, android version 4.4.4
Any help would be appreciated, struggling with this one
Thanks

This has been an off and on again issue for many devices since 4.3 was released. I did a google search and Nexus 5 was plagued by this. There's a long thread on the google support forum, with several OPO posts. The thread is more than a year old, and no root cause has yet been discovered. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason regarding who gets it and who doesn't. I have had this happen intermittently, and a reboot usually solves it. For those who suffer this chronically, the only work around seems to be to keep the phone on 3G preferred. Don't let it connect to LTE.

Yea I found some people talking about the issue on other devices, seems really weird, and yea I did change the preferred network setting to 3g (was previously set as 4g which my network doesn't provide me with) and it worked for a while, however seemed to start again recently, will search for those threads and have a read, thanks for the help
Any other info from people with this issue would be helpful too,
Is it possible that changing my routers broadcast channel would make a difference, could it interfere with the radio?
Thanks again
Still having this issue, yesterday I reflashed stock cyanogen 44 via fastboot method and problem is even worse now, the issue seemed to be every now and again but seems to happen every time now
No longer receiving calls when connected to 3g and WiFi either, only workaround seems to be if I switch to 2g mobile services and I'm still able to receive calls on WiFi
Is there an easy way to make my phone auto switch to 2g on WiFi (closest iv found is disabling mobile data on WiFi)
Thanks, hope anyone has some more info on this
Edit; found a workaround by using g cyanogen profiles to downgrade to 2g on my home networks, but still looking for info on a perm solution, thanks
I´m having the same issue with Wifi turn on, I cannot make or receive calls.
Let me know if you find a solution.
Intermitent issues receiving calls on OnePlus One when in WiFi
I'm also having this intermittent (Not always!) problem of not receiving calls in my OnePlus One when connected to WiFi. This started to happen after a regular upgrade to Android 5.0.2 (Cyanogen OS 12.0-YNG1TAS17L).
I found the solution in forums.oneplus.net. Just search for: virgin-mobile-uk-no-incoming-calls-with-wi-fi-enabled-and-3g-lte in Google and you will find the link. Go to page 3 on this posting.
The issue is related to the fact that calls fail while in WiFi and LTE. Create at least two System Profiles (Settings -> System Profiles). One to change the "Preferred network type" to 2G when connected to any of your WiFI networks, and another that changes the "Preferred network type" to 2G/3G/LTE when disconnecting from any of your WiFI networks.

Mobile Network/WiFi does not turn on - HTC U11+

Hi!
Since a few months now, the WiFi and Mobile Network does not work on my U11+. If a SIM is inserted, it would not detect it, and when I try to turn on Wi-Fi, it tries to turn on but nothing happens. Attached a video for reference. For a few days out of the blue, the network and WiFi worked, but stopped after 3 days of working. So I'm not sure if its a hardware issue because of how it started working out of nowhere. I have tried all sorts of resets, nothing seem to work. I'm thinking of flashing a custom ROM, if any exist for the model.
However, have any of you faced this issue? Or know a fix for it? Would appreciate it a ton if you could help out. Thanks.

Since the shutdown of the 3g Network by ATT, I have had a similar issue. Eventually, I reset the phone but still the wi-fi won't turn on. The phone currently lacks internet connectivity and thus is pretty much useless. I don't see any responses to your post of from April but if you have any insights from other sources how to resolve the issue and get wi-fi working again, it would be great to know about it. Thanks.
