Can I add a spelling correction (another language) to phone. - General Questions and Answers

I have 2 devices how run 4.0.4 android. Not the same brand, not even the same developer rom. One knows to correct my typing, the other not. Under settings, language, input, spelling correction. One have my language (Heb) the other not.
But I thought why to myself it is not important. I guess it`s just a dictionary part.
My wish is, for someone to tell me how and what can I copy from one to another to have it on both.
Thanks in advance

The last version of go Backup (the same of GoLauncher EX) can backup your dictionary, the language comes with the ROM (I think, because I often see multilanguage or English/Chinese in the ROMs description)

How do I delete words from the stock android keyboard?

The topic title is the question. I tried looking online but there is no Language and Keyboard option under settings on this phone.
I'm interrested too, thanks
Bring up my post.
Can anyone help me?
I am not sure what You really meant, but I would get HistoryEraser from android market, let me know how it goes.

I probably should have included the word "dictionary" in my post.
I added some words to the stock android keyboard's dictionary so it would remember things like "haha" instead of correcting it to Bahamas (true story, try typing "haha" with the stock keyboard). I also added a lot of crap just to test out the adding feature and now I want to delete them from my dictionary. I don't know how to though.
Hi, I found this
Maybe it's what you are looking for
Hope it helps
That was actually exactly what I was looking for. Haha, thanks.
Yeah, I probably should've explained my question a little better, but in the end we got the answer. Thanks again.

Swype Keyboard is having a mind of it's own [Help]

I woke up this morning and tried sending a text only to notice my Swype keyboard changed it's dictionary to Spanish. I went into the settings and all of the language options were checked so I unchecked all of them except for English. That didn't work and Swype will still only predict Spanish words. I checked it in the messaging app and browser but got the same results in both. I even rebooted the phone. Has anyone ever heard this before? Does anyone know a fix? I am thinking the only fix will be to delete Swype and reinstall it but I don't even know if I can reinstall it since it came preloaded on the device. Your help is much appreciated.

+1...Thank you, it worked. Now I just need to figure out why the language changed and why I couldn't change it back. Bug maybe?
I had the same things going on!
I went to the Swype site and registered as a beta tester in-which I was given access to the newest release and all the forum replies from other users. I uninstalled the original Swype, rebooted, and installed the new and have not had a problem since!!! Good Luck

[Q] Is there a Chinese firmware available?

As titled, is there a Simplified Chinese firmware available for this phone, or if any ROM that contains Chinese natively?
Thanks!
i don't think there is a chinese version of this hardware yet but if the sgs language packs work (they should) then it could be ported from the i9088. gtg should know more about it, maybe checkout infused rom, I ha e a choice foe something that. looks like it may be chinese, also you can probably import the i9088 keyboard and get rid of the Samsung keyboard on the phone.
Hey thanks for the quick reply. I am not only looking for something to input the Chinese (it can be done fairly easily by install Baidu Input etc), I am looking for rom that totally (and natively) showing in Chinese, for example, Browser would be call "浏览器.

there is.some.sort of Asian language in infused but i don't know which. keyboards look like
ㅂㅈㄷㄱㅅㅛㅕㅑㅐㅔ
ㅁㄴㅇㄹ호ㅓㅏㅣ
ㅋㅌㅊ퓨ㅜㅡ
and like this
ㅃㅉㄸㄲㅆㅛㅕㅑㅒㅖ
ㅁㄴㅇㄹ호ㅓㅏㅣ
ㅋㅌㅊㅍㅠㅜㅡ
names of things are more intricate characters like what you posted. but the browser name is.not what you posted. i don't know enough about Chinese characters to know what im looking at.
i knew what you are asking, it is a matter of getting the language files from an Asian sgs phone the i9088 is a Chinese captivate and certainly has what you are asking for. it can be done but if it isn't included already but important not sure how to do it.

ahh, let me get back to this. I know there must be an answer in either the captivate section or the i9000 section. this has been asked before on those phones. its actually a fairly common request.
Yes, pretty common request. I would like to put Chinese into the phone, I heard that you can "port" the language pack from the i9000 but I need instructions, not sure if this can be installed via a .APK file, or a ROM flash is needed. Thanks and I will keep looking!

[Q] Is there an app like htc notes for the transformer

Hi! Im new to this forum and also to the transformer. I bought it because its a really cool devise and I plan to use it to take notes during classes and so on. It works fine for this, except right now im studying the phonetic alphabet (the swedish one) and polaris office does not have any of the symbols i need. Therefore im in need of an app that can handle bot typing on the keyboard and handwriting with a stylus pen, kinda like the one on HTC Flyer.
Is there an app that can do this? Or is it possible to maybe get the htc notes app for the transformer? it does not have to work flawless, but i want to be able to add handwritten notes to the ones i type.
Thanks!
Not sure about different 'Notes' apps, there are quite a few to choose from on the market but I'd probably recommend 'Thumb Keyboard'. Apart from it being the best thing since slice bread with regards to typing it also has all the different characters and keysets that you'd ever need and is fully customisable.
There is...I can't recall the name but you can write and type on a note. it shrinks your writing to fit on a line too... pretty cool.
Will check when I get home.
Buy beautiful notes apps its the best note taking app for honeycomb!!

Freenote does this, I love it Perfect for class. Also, SwiftKey for Tablets is my keyboard recommendation - it has a split keyboard option for thumb typing as well, plus predictive text.
Swedish, huh? How'd you get into that? My husband's family is from Sweden. (Not to clutter up the thread, just don't hear Sweden come up too often)

Does Beautiful Notes let you take notes using a stylus as well? Looks like a really well put together app, just curious about that
You can try to port Myscript Notes Mobile from the Lenovo Ideapad.
http://www.visionobjects.com/en/myscript/personal-notes-and-forms-management-applications/myscript-notes-mobile/description/
It converts your stylus notes in normal typed text.

Freenotes seems to do the trick Gonna look up the other apps to. Is there a way to get bold, underscored and italic characters in freenote?
I am from sweden and i am studying the swedish language (going to be a teacher). Thats why
Thanks for the tips!
It still would be nice if someone could port HTC notes to the transformer Have no knowledge of this myself

Wow that looks amazing.
Hmm. I just noticed that freenotes has no option to export or save files as documents. Since i plan on uing this in my studies i really need this function. Is there a way to do this or do i need to find another app?
maybe my mediocre english got you all confused. What im looking for is an app that can handle, or at least save files as, .doc files that has an option for handwriting aswell as typing with the keyboard. Kinda like polaris office, but with built in handwriting.
Thanks again
Latest update of Evernote came with a fairly decent Skitch integration. Might be worth a look.

I unfortunately just noticed this today as well, actually. I was hoping that maybe I could figure out a way to export Freenotes into .pdf format. Either way, will keep an eye out for what you're looking for and will keep watching this thread. I think this concept for Android is sort of ongoing development, so hopefully it'll take off soon!

I downloadet that application two days ago but unfortunatly its not really what im looking for. Skitch might work for drawing, but not really for writing. I want an app that is more like Word or Polaris office, but with handwriting also.
Thanks for the tip though!
On top if this... is there an app that allows you to open up .pdf files and write directly on them?

RepliGo Reader
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cerience.reader.app&feature=search_result
could possibly try something like hanwang. Its a keyboard replacement that either lets you type, or write, and it auto converts it to typed text.
A few tips, the last version i tried defaulted to Chinese, change it in the settings.
and write in cursive, even if its sloppy as mess its more accurate, amazingly accurate! than regular script writing.
Hanwang!!
Antipaper - Good for handwriting but does no recognition.
I export to Evernote and store my notes there. Evernote does recognition (not conversion) and lets me search my hand written notes.

JB voice search speaking?

How can I make the voice search to speak the answers like in the Nexus 7? That doesn't work for me, it only does a google search..
Any help?
Not all searches will be answered with built in tts, just some pre determined ones for example weather forecast

I just discovered that if I set the system language (not the voice search language) to english it works.
Do you know how to make it work if I change the system language?
Thanks
