The topic title is the question. I tried looking online but there is no Language and Keyboard option under settings on this phone.
I'm interrested too, thanks
Bring up my post.
Can anyone help me?
I am not sure what You really meant, but I would get HistoryEraser from android market, let me know how it goes.

I probably should have included the word "dictionary" in my post.
I added some words to the stock android keyboard's dictionary so it would remember things like "haha" instead of correcting it to Bahamas (true story, try typing "haha" with the stock keyboard). I also added a lot of crap just to test out the adding feature and now I want to delete them from my dictionary. I don't know how to though.
Hi, I found this
Maybe it's what you are looking for
Hope it helps
That was actually exactly what I was looking for. Haha, thanks.
Yeah, I probably should've explained my question a little better, but in the end we got the answer. Thanks again.
Hey Guys,
Was hoping for a bit of constructive feedback. Wrote an app called NameBuzz:
A new concept in incoming Caller ID and SMS ID technology. Silently know who's calling, without your phone leaving your pocket!
- Vibrate pattern based on syllables in contact name
- Create custom vibrate patterns per contact
- Speak contact name out loud
- Vibrate on call end
- Press volume key to disable during call
Click to collapse
The idea is that with only 5 or so people calling you regularly, their syllables should be enough for you to differentiate between people. And if not, you can always create a custom vibrate pattern for that contact!
As an extra, it also allows you to set up speaking caller ID - for the situations where you don't need your phone to be silent!
You can install with the following link:
NameBuzz Install
It's only tested in English for the time being, and on a Nexus One and Desire Z (HTC Vision).
If anyone gives it a go, feel free to let me know what you think!
Cheers,
Daz.
Cyrket link for all who are on a PC right now with screens : http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.dazbradbury.namebuzz/
Thanks, and here is an appbrain link (good for remote install):

Although, Cyrket does always seem more up to date.
Nice app! If only the voice was more enjoyable not so roboty if possible. The buzzing will take some time to learn, especially if you have friends with similar names..
AIM mobile IM = buzzing out of control!

Thanks! I intend to add some options around the voice output when I get a chance.

I think it should be fairly intuitive, as you can work out the number of syllables, and then the name. I would use the testing function a little to familiarise yourself.
AIM mobile IM = buzzing out of control!

This shouldn't buzz out of control, it will be the pattern of:
Buzz-Pause-Buzz-Buzz-Pause-Buzz - and then repeat.
AIM-space- Mob -ile -space-IM
So AIM = 1 syllable
Mobile = 2 syllables
IM = 1 syllable.
And I put little breaks in to break up words. Does that make sense?
could always use morse code for the vibrate patterns
I think I will try this.
Idea is truly nice. How about Froyo Support!
and just to let u know, i featured u on one of the biggest independent german tech blogs

And it does work on Froyo - if you have any problems, let me know!

Hi,
Yeh, the problem with morse code is that it would take forever to spell out a name entirely. Plus, someone has already done this. Look for "MorseRing".
Cheers!

Awesome, thanks! However, I guess you should warn people I've only tested this in english, and I coded the text-to-syllable engine to only really work with english letters. Hence, I'm not really sure how it will perform in german! Special accented characters that should be treated as syllable indicators probably won't get picked up...
Let me know if you give it a go, would be interested to know if it's really bad, or just not perfect!

Thanks for the offer, unfortunately, it's a little more tricky than that. I use certain knowledge about english to turn words into a number of syllables. Hence, it's not really a translation as such. I will have a think... if I can make into a translatable list, I will be sure to let you know!!

Going back to the topic, anyone have any thoughts/improvements?
Would love to know if anyone is getting to grips with it... Maybe I'll give you guys a few days to get used to the idea...!
Going on holiday for two weeks, so if you guys can come up with any feature requests, I'll implement them when I get back...
Hope you like it, and any ratings/feedback is much appreciated!
Cheers! Daz.
Is it just me or is this App no longer available in the Market? I've tried numerous barcodes and looked under Tools but only get told the app cannot be found.
Is there an actual install file available I can download so I can install this manually? I had it on my phone but my phone died and took the program with it.

I think I found the problem with this app not showing up in the Market for me. My phone was missing an update and once I performed it, NameBuzz showed up and installed without a glitch.
Great app. Makes phone calls a little easier to screen.
NameBuzz 1.2 now available:
- Works in collaboration with in-built ringer state. If your phone is in silent, it won't vibrate/speak, if in vibrate mode, it will vibrate but not speak, etc...
- Disabled during Call Waiting - simply provides call waiting tone rather than vibrating.
- Add custom speech text (ie. Incoming Call from Joe Bloggs)
- Added ability to set silent ringtone.

Cheers!
Im looking to buy a new for someone but it needs to have the korean language on it, so the g2x come with korean? i figure it should being a lg phone but just want to dbl check
If you are asking about whether...
1. You can install non-English menus, I'm not sure.
2. You can read non-English websites or messages, the answer is yes. Just do it.
3. You can input non-English characters, yes but you need to download and install keyboards for those languages.
4. You can install and run non-English apps, yes.
oh to clear it up better i meant just from the phone go into settings -> language and be able to choose korean (if it exists or not is the question) because the vibrant is able to

Hi all!
Although I am an old user here, this is my first post/thread about my new Galaxy Note 10.1
Ok so our beloved note is supposed to be work oriented and one of the most used perspective of that is Emails I guess.
However this one has a major flow (on stock ROMS) and that is the absence of any spell checker!
I know there's swype and many other features, however spell checker is still an important feature!!!
To make myself clear (if someone didn't understand what I mean), we miss the feature where the wrong typed word is underlined in thin zigzag red line. Once you click on it, many suggestions pop up to replace the wrong word.
This exists on PC, outlooks, word etc.., and exists even on AOSP, CM and all related roms! It even exists on iPad!!!
To ease the way, someone in S2 forums has done it on stock Touchwiz ROM. Look here: PRESS HERE
In this thread he outlines the method he used. I guess it requires AOSP keyboard and libraries as well as modifying the framework and maybe settings apk.
Besides he shows advanced ways of disabling it in browser URL links and contacts app and etc...
Please developers look into this and make it happen, at least for the 4.1.2 ROMS. This is a major feature that we need to have, especially when typing!
I really dunno SAMSUNG what was thinking when it removed this feature from AOSP android!!! I mean this tablet was meant for these things!!!
Thank you!
+1. Hell...+20.
I was looking for spell check the other day when sending out an email. Would definitely be nice. I am not sure how Samsung missed this one
Its mind blowing that such a basic feature is missing from all the Samsung devices! +100 on this request
+50

I'm an "Old User" as well, and although no spell checker is not quite a deal-breaker, it will sure add a lot of time to everything I need to do with this new tool/tablet...SO: I'll add my voter to whatever a +100 does
+1000 hell yeah! A grammar checker would be wonderful too! A girl can dream.
Bump,
Has anyone tried this? I don't have the tools to do so

Well the mentioned method as well as the method I mentioned in OP are the same! However I am no developer and I really dunno what decompile means and how it is done!
However, I will look into it later on when I have some time.
I would pay for this feature if it was added. I really miss having a spell checker.
I found an app called Ginger Grammer and Spelling.. you can find it in the play store. Just haven't been able to make it work on my Note 10.1. Anybody willing to try it and tell me if it is just my device?
Hi everyone, I'm Doug, and I'm new here and I have a quick question. I recently bought a Xioami Mi4c, it's pretty sweet but a little weird dealing with the Chinese apps and having to install google services from a separate place. Have any Mi4c users noticed google voice typing is missing from the language and input settings? I used it with Swiftkey and loved it because it would type my words as I spoke them. Now with my Mi4c it just seems to be missing?
Does anyone know anything about that?
Thanks for reading

Hello, here too...
You can try to uninstall Google keyboard and reinstall it from the play store to restore the voice typing...
Let me know
Thanks, I did what you suggested but it still isn't showing up. It must be something to do with installing google services thorough the google installer app, but it sure would be nice to get that back.

First of all you should install a new ROM like xiaomi.EU smiui, pac or cm. Follow the different threads in the mi4c section to do that. This way you will have a clean ROM without all the Chinese bloatware and with properly installed Google services.
Regarding your question, I am using PAC by team superluminal and I do have voice typing with Google keyboard. And I am sure you will have it with other ROMs here on xda. That's why I advise you to flash something
That's probably the best idea, but I tried it and it didn't seem to go smoothly, and my phone still wasn't rooted when I finished going through the steps so I went back to the stable ROM. And then I read that it doesn't work unless you get a code from xiaomi through sms? Honestly I don't know what I'm doing yet when it comes to rooting and romming, I'll read the forums like you suggested. I do love this phone though.
