I do a tonne of reading and usually all my answers are found through searching, but I am stumped on this one, hence, my first post.
I simply cannot get flash to work on my Skyrocket while running Jelly Bean.
I have the older APK of Dolphin. I have several APK versions of Adobe Flash. None of them seem to work.
I have tried the old version of Dolphin (and the new version where you delete a certain file to allow flash), the built-in browser, Firefox, Firefox Beta, Opera, QuickICS, plus a few others just for good measure. All these plus trying different versions of flash with each one.
The best I can get is the little circle where a flash video is loading, then a blank/black screen. Then I have to re-start the browser I am testing because it will lock up.
I have no issues with ICS running flash, but as soon as I load ANY of the JB roms, nothing.
Most of the posts I see on the web are to load the Adobe APK and then to load the older Dolphin APK and they are good to go. Not for me 8-(
Just a couple of flash sites I am trying are:
Amazon Instant video
South Park Studios
Watch South Park Online
BTW, thanks for all the work you guys put into these ROMs, etc. I am so glad I got away from the iPhone. I love the freedom Android gives.
I think I got it!
I tried the superlite ROM by vincom tonight.
I loaded the older dolphin apk and adobe flash apk and viola, it is working now.
His ROM says it is really lite, so I don't know if something he has left out was what was messing with flash in the others ROMs.
The only thing I noticed is that now I get ads when starting the videos. With ICS, it would go straight to the video. But hey, just glad it is working now.

Adobe has an even newer .apk on their site that never made it to the market. Thumb around for it. You wont be able to see flash on chrome at all. Different JB roms act differently with it. Some work, and some don't. The aosp jb wont work with flash, but the official cm10 does.

Thanks for the info.
I did try the cm ROMs. They have the look and feel I like the most. The ROM I mentioned above is the first one on JB I could get flash to work on.
It seems to be good to go now, but I will look for the latest version just to see how it works.

So is anyone working on a Jellybean ROM for the Viewsonic g-tablet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29584976&postcount=4
This was a response I got to my ranting about viewsonic developers STILL releasing FROYO updates three months (JAN 2012) after ICS source code was available. So, GB, honycomb,ICS,JEllybean from viewsonic? PROBABLY NOT! it seems they will keep paying their developers (or whoever the hell TapnTp is) to keep trying to stabilize their idea of frozen yogurt while the rest of the world keeps turning. what is my worthless point? As long as its possible the gtab will keep getting updated by those who have the skills and the tenacity, but not officially ever. I am currently working on a camera solution involving a webcam, which is the only thing not really working on ICS, and will continue to be a problem with any future jellybean rom. SO, if you are patient, you will get your wish.
Jellybean is now live on the other site. It will be a week or 2 then it will be posted over here. Get it while it's hot
What 'other site'?

Pardon, been gone a long time, but what other site is it on?
I dont want to make the devs mad, but if you google "slate g tablet" you will find your answer.

I have been searching high and low for a tread that you are on to say Damn good job guys. The only thing that I see for a request is adding ROM Toolbox lte to it. More simplifyed options to modify settings to see what works better.
By the way guys just go straight to the DRH website or use the DRH app to download the Jelly Bean ROM. Make sure that you follow instructions to the letter or else it will not load up correctly.

Just installed the teamdrh version of Jelly Bean, really quite nice! Instructions here.
Gtablet Vs Kindle Fire HD
I am surprised to see that ICS has not reached to its stable version yet and all the dev are already working on Jelly bean !
What is going to happen with ICS beta? Are users being forced to switch to Jelly bean? I am just frustrated because, the ICS is being slow,
I am lucky to find a solution by rajeevvp that made it more responsive but I wonder how long will it last?
And my last question to all Guru's , where do our Gtablet stand compare to Kindle fire HD? in terms of its hardware power.
Thanks.

JB from ICS is like gingerbread from froyo. It is not a major update or change. It does have project butter however, and for me JB uses less RAM on boot. so no one is forced to do anything. We are all happy to make this change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I seem to get a boot loop no matter what I do. I am always able to flash back to stock 1.2 tnt (ouch). I had been running Vegan Tab Ginger for about a year. I read a post from Fosser2 taking me through the process of starting from 1.1 thru 1.2 then trying the whole JB flash. No Go
Always either boot loops to birds or black. Anyway, I read where Bishop posted another fix from Rajeevvp where you flash a fixed Kernal, but that one I have a problem wrapping my head around. Does someone have this Kernal already in Zip?? I would try this, but my kernal editing blows.
I have also tried ICS with the same results. Yes...I have used both the setups with either 250mb for ICS, and the larger for JB.
Please Help

Some tablets have sandisk NAND and have few problems. Other gtabs have Samsung NAND and they have lots of problems. Some people who cannot flash are able to with bloader 1.1. bootloader doesnt matter with JB so go ahead and try from 11 and let us know results. There are threads on using 1.1 so search for them, I will too.
Cant really figure out how to get the 1.1 bootloader to work either if I am doing it right, it is not working either. Might be the kernal issue someone else mentioned. I will try again with what I believe is the 1.1 bootloader, but I could find no NVflash to it specifically so I am unsure.
Haven't played with my GTablet in a long time.
I had Brilliant Corners on it.
Just updated it to black jelly, looks good so far,

You can try a teamdrh ICS rom or one of Nobe's JB roms, smooth or black. DRH jelly bean may be too big. still may not work, but start here:

Has anyone overcome the three birds issue yet. I really want to use my gtablet for some of my online training courses i'm doing but it will not work on flashback (honeycomb). I havent been able to install anything past flashback.
I was running Team DRH's ICS ROM which was good, then switched to their JB ROM which had some hiccups and slow downs but was manageable, but I've got to say nobe's Smooth Bean ROM is by far the best that I have run on my tab. Snappy and haven't had any issues yet. Definitely worth a look for anyone wanting to update to JB.
Suggest you try Smooth Bean over in Dev forum

I was on Flashback 10 for probably a year, reading, watching the development of other ROMS include ICS and JB. I just recently went from Flashback 10.1 to Smooth Bean. Just follow the instructions over in the dev forum. Pretty straight forward. You could also look up Ray Waldo's nflash instructions. So far no big issues, seems to be very fast, I like Opera Mobile so flash doesn't work or I haven't gotten it to work. Smooth Bean comes with Chrome. Flash does work somewhat with the default browser but with Opera or firefox I haven't had any luck yet.

The Nova launcher take a little getting used to so I tried could others, Lightening, Holo, there are several you could try.

While I would love for it to be as simple as reading the directions and following, i have done that maybe 50 times with teamdrh as well as smooth and black bean. Same thing every time. It's an issue that my hardware is slightly different than your hardware.

When I went from Flashback to SmoothBean it took a couple tries to get it right and I thought I followed the directions given. I didnt understand why exactly they wanted 4096/0 partition and it wasn't explained so I tried it also with 2048/0 which I used for Flashback but still had issues. I tried again with 4096/0 and it worked. My experience testing and using smoothbean too is I think Chrome is somewhat unstable at times and hangs or takes long time to respond like it could be maxing out cpu or something. I dont really think its neccessarily related to flash. I like opera mobile and am disappointed flash doesnt wrk with it. I tried using firefox and overridding the useragent and almost got flash to work some but it then errored out. Also read where some had tired using backup versions of flash and opera and thought some haf gotten it to work. This still is lot faster than flashback was so thats nice. I was on bootloader 2 version when I flashed.
Hey guys,
First off. Please don't bite my head off.. if this is the wrong section, could a mod move this for me?
I've searched around the internet but haven't found anything. My stock aosp browser has been bugging out lately. What happens is if i load a heavy page (droid-life does this all the time) the loading goes up most of the way, pauses for a second, and i get booted off fhe browser. It just closes out to my home screen. Then if i open the browser again, its either the page i was just at, which will be fully loaded, or it starts over on google, which then proceeds to refresh over and over again on its own. Odd, it has never done this before. I tried different kernels, roms, factory resets, i wiped everything each time. And it still keeps doing this. I dont get it. It even happens on my friends epic 4g touch, so i dont think its just my device. I've been resorting to using chrome for now, which is somewhat wonky. I would love to remedy this issue. Can anyone help, and importanly, has this been going on with anyone else? Background: i have a rooted, unlocked d2vzw, running paranoid android (latest) and leankernel 1.10 experimental. Cpu is stock, gpu is oc'd.
Thanks in advance!
What gets me the most, is that a few days ago this would never happen! It just started happening for seemingly no reason!
Btw, the other roms i tried were: cm10 latest nightly, paranoid android (of course), liquidsmooth, latest, and king kang. My buddy is on cm10 build 2 on his epic 4g touch. I tried each with their stock kernels as well as leankernel.

I'm currently using chrome, which isnt bad, but its still buggy and isnt as slick as the aosp browser. I figure lots of folks will suggest different browsers. I would like to still be able to use the stock aosp browser, which is why i started this thread
Mine was doing it too. A simple wipe of the browser days fixed it.

Data wipe solves the google reloading over and over again, but when i open up droid life, its the same story: it loads up a droid life page once, the second droid life page (like a news story or something linked off the original page) reliably loads most of the way, pauses and then boots me out. Then if the page isnt still there when i go back to the browser then its google, refreshing over and over again. Visit the droid life page, let it load, then open up any of the news stories. Does your browser boot you?
Edit: it does this with droidforums too, and many other sites.
Yep it sure did not me at droid forum.... Strange

Yup this happened to me running liquid smooth, seems like the browser had issues with rootz wiki.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
So it is happening with other folks as well? This is strange as this has never happened before. Its been happening to my buddy with an og razr as well
Its now happening to my buddy on his stock t989, stock tw browser. What the hell is going on? Did google change something in their servers or something? This is incredibly annoying and i simply cannot understand why this isnt a bigger issue. Chrome sucks. A lot.
So i know how to install the adobe flash apk and everything. i have been watching flash videos on my Galaxy S 2 and S 3 ever since i got them using xScope Pro. But for some reason the TF300T wants to freeze the second i load a video. The most insane thing is i watched an entire episode of Blood+ last night but when i went to watch another episode flash caused the browser to freeze. Tried with stock browser same thing, tried with angel browser and same thing.
Does anyone have any idea what to do? Im running CM10 btw. Never had any issues with any other device just this one.. And this was essentially the main reason i purchased the tablet as well..

I'd recommend ditching flash altogether, if you can. Try this: set the stock browser's user agent to ipad (this should be possible in the CM10 stock browser, through the settings). This forces most web sites to render their players in HTML5 instead of flash, which, for me, has been a much better experience. Also, if you do not use this already, install browser2ram. It's a must.

lol. ditch flash.. lol.. You have any idea how many websites use flash? I cannot believe android abondonded flash. That was just plain stupid. Lol.
But i just flashed CROMI and am gonna try it. I have a feeling it may be the kernel. (I was using untermensch's) so if it works with CROMI, then i'll try CM10 again with the stock kernel. I dont recall having issues with that. Thanks for the recommendation though!
Confirmed it's a cm10 issue. Doesn't happen on cromi or stock. Trying baked ROM now. Then cm9 lol.

Two things are misguided in your thinking:
1. Adobe is ditching Flash, not Google/Android. They realized that maintaining a plug-in for capabilities that are built-in to most modern browsers.
2. I understand that, yes, a lot of websites use flash. But think about how many tablets are out there, especially ipads which have never supported flash. If you run a web site of any popularity and you're forcing people to use flash, your traffic numbers are going to go down the tube. Most sites out there, especially those that stream videos, offer an alternative to flash; and that alternative (HTML5) is usually better.
You're clinging to your cassette deck while everyone is streaming on-demand. Flash is old school and the more people give it up, the quicker web designers will adapt modern alternatives.
Give it a try. Load up Baked6 and switch the stock browser to ipad and see how little you are losing. It might change your mind.

I thought it was adobe ditching android.. I wasn't sure lol.
But dude seriously the Almighty YouTube hasn't even abandoned flash. It's still needed to watch videos on their desktop site. I have only ever encountered one HTML5 website in my millions of hours online. HTML5 is just dumb. Not many people are using it and it's been out for what feels like forever.
Flash works and has for years. Abandoning it was just absolutely stupid. It's nowhere near dead.

Hello all, so I have rooted and used a few roms on my phone, but went back to stock so the video recorder worked properly. But the camera issues have taken a back seat. I am a trucker and sit for hours at loading docks, so thought Id get some emulators, and a wii mote and classic controller.
First off my phone is on Rogers in Canada, model sgh-i997R, firmware 2.3.3, kernal 2.6.35.7-i997ruxkg3-cl366622, build number gingerbread.uxkg3
My questions are : Seems the last last OS to support wiimotes is 4.1.2. Am I correct in this?
Through searching, I have found these roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859208&highlight=+4+1+2 which seems dead with broken links.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954527&highlight=+4+1+2 seems ok
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874000&highlight=4+1+2&page=45 which is locked, and last posts are talking bout just barely getting it to boot, doesnt seem too stable.
Am I missing any? I realize its an older OS so my options may be limited.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Edit: Also going to install a Tab 2 into my car, and will be using phone to tether it to for wifi, so good tethering capabilities is also important in a rom. Any suggestions?

I'd say flash 4.2.2 and try it out for yourself. If it doesn't work, it isn't hard at all to flash back to 4.1..
I have seen the question asked, but no real answers. Has anyone had any luck getting games made by King to work on this rom? I have the last Flashplayer and have installed several browsers with Flash support but no luck. The Tablet belongs to my wife and not being able to run these games is a deal breaker. I may have to take it back to stock, even though they start to bog down after a few months.

Use dolphin browser. Haven't tried the games your talking about, but Dolphin is my goto flash browser. Also used to be a flash apk somewhere on this site, but no idea where these days. Flash should be killed off soon, adobe has discontinued it. So hopefully the games you speak of update to a safer format. BTW did you try flashfox, top result on Google store.

Yes, the Dolphin browser.
You'll find that Android doesn't handle Flash very well. I was able to do some limited Flash applications, but Flash games will most likely be disappointing with this system: it is Tegra3 after all.
Thanks for the replies. Ended up that dolphin did the trick, flashfox came back with " not compatible with Intel atom or nvidia tegra".
