Hi guys, I hope you can help me. I searched this in google but can't find any solution.
My tablet is running on Revolver ROM with guevor's kernel and TWRP recovery. I want to go back to stock to send my tab for repair. Is there any way I can go back to stock that does not include nvflash? I downloaded the firmware from the Asus site, and I'm thinking of flashing it in recovery but I'm afraid it's gonna brick it.
Thanks in advance!
You can flash the firmware from Asus, make sure to unzip first and get the 2nd zip file from inside. Full wipe recommended (data, cache and dalvik cache).
Your other option is to use the Easy Flasher and the firmware you download.
Thanks. There's a zip inside the zip. Is that the one I flash in recovery?
Yes flash the zip inside the zip
Thanks for your help. It went pretty well. I'm fully stock now.

Did you do a backup of the rom before changing the kernel. It is contained in the boot.img in the backup. Just use one of the flashable zips that flash the kernel and replace the boot.img and wireless.ko files from an original nandroid with the one in the flashable zip (ones I looked at the boot.img as in the kernel subdirectory). wireless.ko goes in /system/lib/modules directory. Just use 7-zip and open archive. Delete the boot.img and paste in the one you want. Cloese out 7-zip and then you have a flashable zip with the stock kernel. I have attached the boot.img from the stock GB rom. Make sure you unzip the file and remove the boot.img. Do not try to flash this zip. It won't work.
I went ahead and made a flashable zip to restore the stock GB kernel. A big caveat here is that I have not tested it out myself as I am currently already rocking the stock kernel. If you are a brave soul you can try it out. Based on my experience it should work with no problems. If it does work please report back here and I will make a new thread in the development section. Many people have been looking for this, including myself. Once I venture out to another kernel to overclock, I wanted to have a way to restore to stock if I needed it. For now I am sticking with the stock kernel as I find the phone fast enough as it is.
Make sure you clear the Dalvik cache before rebooting or you might hang during boot or get a boot loop. The first boot will take several minutes due to Dalvik cache being rebuilt.

If this works it should def go in the dev section, unless it's already there.

I will post a thread in the development section once somebody confirms it works. I am pretty confident it will work. Using the same method that is used to flash custom kernels, but I used the boot.img and wireless.ko from the stock GB rom flash.

Not sure if I done anything wrong but here are the steps that i did:
- clear cache
- clear Dalvik cache
- flashed the zip file
- reboot
All I got was a black screen. I waited for about 15 mins but still black screen.

Did you flash it over the stock GB 2.3.3 rom? This is the original kernel and ony compatible with the stock rom. If you are running another rom that would result in a black screen due to incompatibility issues.
I'm using Xboarder's Stock Tweaked OTA Gingerbread build v1.2.2. I don't have the original stock rom. (stupid me, i didn't backup the stock rom before flashed another rom )
Edit: I tried again and it works beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you.
thank you all for your help.
So I bought my Motorola Triumph a few days ago rooted it and it worked fine even after many reboots.
So a few days later, I installed new fonts and replaced all the existing ones using Font Installer. After I rebooted, the phone does not boot any more, it does not go beyond the M logo screen
I looked all over the internet but couldn't find something useful to fix the problem.
Plz help me solve this.
I appreciate any tips (note: I am not an expert)
Is it bricked?
Your gonna have to wipe dalvik cache and cache in recovery try to boot again. If that don't work wipe data in recovery and be prepared to set up phone again. Don't worry you wont lose root

When I had this issue after a different mistake what I did was flash a stock rom. You're going to need a custom recovery to do so. If you don't have clockworkmod recovery on your phone you can find a installation guide and a download link HERE. As for the stock rom and how to flash it look HERE (I used the regular rom and not the deodex version, only because I honestly have no clue of the differnce xD)
Hope this helps.

Huh, just went through the same thing myself
If what is happening to you is what happened to me, you screwed up Clockopia.ttf (or replaced it with a font Android doesn't like) and are now stuck in a boot loop
Here's how to fix it
You need to install a custom recovery (you should have this anyway so you can backup before trying new things)
Here are detailed instructions, it's easy
http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/421674-clockworkmod-recovery-motorola-triumph.html
Now, at this point, you have a few options:
You can download a stock ROM, flash that, and go back to stock. You will lose everything
You can downloaad stock ROM, and just restore the /system. You do this under backup and restore -> Advanced restore. This will probably get you back up and running and you won't lose any data
You could replace Clockopia.ttf. Attached is a zip file that will do it for you. Put the zip file on your SD card and flash it using CWM (do not use "flash update.zip", use "flash zip file on sdcard" and navigate to it). This will replace Clockopia with the one from stock. Then reboot and you should be up and running
Is it possible to get my hands on a stock 8.6.5.21 after trying to root with Razorclaw? This root involved using a 8.6.6.19 fw, but not it's slow as... :S
I'd rather not lose my data, if possible.
Cheers!
Hey if your ClockworkMod is working fine then download the 8.6.5.21 from the main Asus website nd put it on your external sd and go into clockwork recovery then go into install zip and install it
Thanks! Now I need to install clockworkmod
I had a similiar question, are the updates available from the ASUS website full ROM's or incrimental updates to the prevoiusly released FOTA versions?
Can they all be flashed via CWM to over-write an existing ROM? Regardless of the current version of the firmware on the phone(assuming a data/cache wipe to be safe)?
Do they overwrite the recovery partition or do you need a copy of the asus recovery to flash back to stock recovery?

There is an app called RecoveryInstaller.apk ~~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180 ... IF YOU ARE ROOTED, then you can use this app and it'll install Clockworkmod for you.

The ASUS website ROM's are full ROM's. You can flash the stock ROM with the clockworkmod, however you won't be able to update unless you flash back to stock Clockwork. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154947 click that link to download the stock clockwork.

Back to stock is as a last possibility.
After flash to stock i must root again?

Yes, after back to stock you must add root and CWM.

E: Problem solved!
I made back to stock, I downloaded 9_2_1_11 version for my TF, it flashed in CWM, reboot (wait on extracting blob file), full wipe - factory reset, boot to stock ROM > root (Viper) > flashed recovery > in recovery flashed EOS ROM and work for me
a bit lol for me....
i download and install the stock rom but im allready on the last, what make i wrong?
Download .zip package and extract second package "WW_epad-user-9.2.1.11.zip" from it on sdcard and flash in CWM. Wait several minutes on install and when install finish with succesful report so you can reboot. Over wait several minutes on flash blob file and then you can make factory reset.

Hi, I'm new to this forum (first post).
I had the same problem - e.g. I wanted to return to stock. I flashed ' PERI 1-click recovery' and the latest version of Revolver custom ROM for the TF101G but I couldn't get 3G to work (unknown Baseband), and PERI wouldn't let me flash the stock ROM - it gave an error 'assert failed' 'Status 7'.
Thought I'd b*****d it thoroughly and couldn't find a thread telling me how to get back to Stock, but trial and error prevailed.
This is what I did (assume you already have ROOT and a custom recovery installed):
1. Download the latest ASUS stock ROM zip from the ASUS site to the PC. Make sure you select the right one for your model (mine's the WW TF101G version)
http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Eee+Pad+Transformer+TF101G&p=20&s=16
2. For some reason ASUS put the stock ROM zip image inside another zip file, so extract it from the downloaded zip file and copy the extracted stock ROM zip (e.g. WW_epad-user-9.2.2.6.zip) to TF101G Internal Storage (not an external SD)
3. The custom recovery you have installed my allow you to flash the stock ROM, in which case just do steps 7 and then 10 onwards. Mine (PERI) gave me an Assert Failed error, in which case ....
4. Download ClockWork Recovery for the Transformer. I used Clockwork_Recovery_5.8.1.8_by_JvS_Corp_V3 from this site and it worked just fine. I don't know which other versions work and which don't:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577929
5. Copy the downloaded Clockwork_Recovery_5.8.1.8_by_JvS_Corp_V3.zip to TF101G Internal Storage (not external SD)
6. Now boot the TF101G into recovery mode (Power + Volume Down until prompt appears, then Volume Up for recovery)
7. Wipe all caches (including the user data cache)
8. Flash Clockwork_Recovery_5.8.1.8_by_JvS_Corp_V3.zip - you'll see lots of scrolling @@@@@@@s, don't worry that's normal
9. Once the Install is complete, Boot into recovery mode again - you should now be in Clockwork Recovery V5.8.1.8
10. Flash the stock ROM (e.g. WW_epad-user-9.2.2.6.zip). Wait until the install is complete.
11. Reboot normally. You will see a blue status bar which will take a while to complete and then it will reboot itself, you may see a message 'Android is Updating' which will also take a while to complete.
After doing this, you should now have the stock ROM, stock recovery, no ROOT and you will be asked to set up the Tablet for the first time, i.e. back to stock.
P.S. If you don't wipe the User Data cache, you can flash to stock without using your apps / settings / data.
Hope this helps.
i dont understand. If youre going to sell the tf101 why not load it up with custom overclockable kernel, new JB rom, and a custom touch recovery? those are added features compared to a lame stock version of the transformer.

because it doesn't exist a JB ROM with 3G working, and usually, when i'll sell something, i prefer selling with the stock image, it's more guarantee that will work properly, like when leaving the store, so they can root and change roms themselves.

In my post, where I said "P.S. If you don't wipe the User Data cache, you can flash to stock without using your apps / settings / data", I meant "...without losing your apps / settings / data". That way you can carry on using it until you sell it, and then just do a factory reset once you have a buyer.
Good luck.
