[Q] Stuck at HTC screen after Random Reboot - HTC Sensation

After installing CMX on my phone, the whole phone got weird. The phone froze after using it for a while. I managed to restore a CWM backup from the ViperS ROM, but I've messed that backup up with some AOSP .apk files that don't belong in there, so I flashed the ViperS ROM at the top of that backup to replace the wrong .apks and flashed it without wiping anything. After that, my phone started to do random reboots, and then, it got stuck at the HTC screen. If I pulled the battery out, it booted again, but It always reboots and gets stuck at the HTC screen again. I restored the CWM backup again without installing the ROM just to see if something went wrong during the installation, but it happens there too. Then I tried to install just the ROM, but the same happens there too. Then, I decided to format the System, Cache and Data partition and flash the ViperS ROM once again and then restoring the data from the CWM backup. That worked for about one hour, but it still reboots and gets stuck at the HTC screen. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Try flashing stock RUU for your phone, maybe that'll work, at least back to normal...

Try reflashing the radio?

[Q] Phone stuck in boot loop

I flashed Android Revolution and flashed the Rcmix Sensation kernel. Now it just boot loops displaying the HTC logo for about 15 seconds and shuts off. I tried restoring a back up to no avail, and wiped everything possible. I really need help and I'm really bummed right now. Thanks in advance.
Try flashing without the kernel. After a full wipe ofcourse.

Trying right now.
Edit: No luck
What recovery are you using? Have you tried formatting the system, data and cache partitions then installing the rom?

Using version 4.0.1.4, the blue text version, and yes Ive tried wiping everything and even mounted in recovery and installed the stock kernel, still boot looping.
Edit: Okay I got it. I just reflashed the stock kernel, then wiped everything, then reflashed the rom, then the stock kernel again. And Badaboom

HTC Desire S problem

A couple of days ago I installed MIUI ROM. I decided I didn't like it so today I used Clockwork Recovery to wipe my phone, intending to reinstall Virtuous Unity. However, after I wiped my phone, Virtuous Unity refused to install. I attempted to install Cyanogen 7.1 and the same thing happened.
I then attempted to use the RUU thingy to restore my phone, however it said my phone's battery was to low. I charged my phone and tried again and it said the same thing. However, when my phone is off, it shows the green light.
What is the problem with my phone and is it fixable?
hi,
did you do a nandroid backup of the ROM you had installed prior to flashing the MIUI ROM?
Can you still enter hboot and recovery?
If yes, did you try to wipe cache/factory reset, dalvik wipe and battery stats under advanced?
Was your DS fully charged before you tried to flash that ROM after the MIUI one?
Maybe trying a different SD card and ensure that the ROM zip is cpied to the root of the SD card can help.
And never pull the battery....

[Q] Why did I get stuck while trying to install Viper?

Earlier, I tried installing ViperXL 2.1.0 ROM, wiped the cache, system, and factory restored in TWRP.
When I was installing the ROM, it got stuck at 90%, so I just gave up. This is my first android phone in two years, so I am just
starting to get use to ROMs again.

Click to collapse
Do it again. I had that happen to me once.
Reboot into recovery, Wipe System/Factory reset and reflash.
If you rooted from 2.20 flash the boot.img first
Could also be a corrupt zip. Chrome used to do that to me.

Just flashed again and this time it was successful.
Unchecked the exchange mail mod because that is what it froze at earlier.
Vioe does that to ne often. It hangs at 90%. Then I simply reboot to twrp and flash again and it works without modifying anything.. it's weird

The problem is either related to TWRP or Aroma. I'm pretty sure all ROMs that use Aroma experience this, although I don't think I've had it happen to me since installing TWRP 2.3.1.0 (at least, from what I remember)
Rebooting back into recovery and reflashing usually works, no matter what the selection is.

That's how everybody should explain what went wrong, nice job about that!
Gapps are working fine from where you got them, I don't get you how exaclty do you wipe things, try with mounting everything.
Try flashing superwipe by akya from the nextgen thread and then flashing!
Hope it helps...

ok
1)why did it give crashes
2)why did back up gave me bootloop
3)i do factory /wipe then dalvik i have to wipe cache partition too?
4)do i have a currupt recovery or nand or **** my phone is just a month old
6)what and why to mount and when to mount plz
1. Crashes occur due to numerous reasons. If you ask for relevant ones, then most propably, either the compiled code is buggy or the dalvik-vm (heap memory in runtime) is getting full.
2. What did backup did you restore ? Stock rom backup or custom rom backup ?
3. Yes, wiping cache is important. It is mentioned in every rom flashing thread.
4. No one can say, when your hardware is gonna foul play on you. My first htc explorer's motherboard & battery were buggy. Extreme heat used to get build up. Anyway, i got free replacement.
5. During recovery, while simple flashing of rom & gaaps, you never manually mount anything. Unless, something is stated in the tutorial of whatever you are about to do.

it was cm9 back up but. I got the prob the cwm recovery didn't back up next which created probs cause I had apps in next and it wasn't wiped before back up I have flashed yannau recovery now and after super wipe installed everythi ng and am back on the track its just am little bit scared about currupting my Pico and don't want to flash anything else now
If you did everything correct, then no need to worry. Just follow the rules strictly..
1. Keep a backup
2. Wipe before flashing
3. Be sure of what you're doing
You can call them the Golden Rule.

[Q] HELP!

I just flashed arhd on my sensation and it worked fine, until I flashed some mods from the site which caused to hang on logo screen...
What seems to be the problem??
Thanks!
Might be best to reflash the Rom again. Before installing mods make nandroid backups first from 4ext so in case something goes wrong, you can boot into recovery and restore your backup.

also some mods requires specific firmware version
