HTC Desire S problem - HTC Desire S

A couple of days ago I installed MIUI ROM. I decided I didn't like it so today I used Clockwork Recovery to wipe my phone, intending to reinstall Virtuous Unity. However, after I wiped my phone, Virtuous Unity refused to install. I attempted to install Cyanogen 7.1 and the same thing happened.
I then attempted to use the RUU thingy to restore my phone, however it said my phone's battery was to low. I charged my phone and tried again and it said the same thing. However, when my phone is off, it shows the green light.
What is the problem with my phone and is it fixable?

hi,
did you do a nandroid backup of the ROM you had installed prior to flashing the MIUI ROM?
Can you still enter hboot and recovery?
If yes, did you try to wipe cache/factory reset, dalvik wipe and battery stats under advanced?
Was your DS fully charged before you tried to flash that ROM after the MIUI one?
Maybe trying a different SD card and ensure that the ROM zip is cpied to the root of the SD card can help.
And never pull the battery....

[Q] Why BootLoop after Flashing?

Hi, I'm an Android user since HTC Hero (long time ago) and I've always played with recovery and custom ROM.
So i tought to have i quite good knowledge about this argoument, but i can't find a solution to my problem.
I've S-OFF my Sensation with the official HTC Guide and after that ive flashed clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.0.
I've tried to flash either last InsertCoin and Stock-rooted 2.3.5 test build, but after the splash htc screen my phone stuck in bootloop. (i've wiped data, cache, dalvik)
The only solution to make it work is to restore my nandroid backup....
Any idea?
Thanks a lot

Hi,
Did you do the Super CID section of the s-off process?
This will enable you to flash any ROM.
Check the s-off guide in my signature.
it shoud be that i've installed stock HTC 2.3.4 radio?

Why did you do it with official HTC Guide? Now you lost part of your warranty.
I s-off´ed my Sensation XE with Revolutionary and everything went fine with flashing Roms.
Did you try to format system and data in CWM before flashing?
If this doesnt work you can also try to mount system and data in CWM.

help me please!! my phone gets stuck on white screen with HTC logo

I used android revolution full wipe, now when I turn on my phone I get a white screen with HTC logo and that’s it. I think I need to flash a rom or something. My phone is rooted is there anything I can do. I really need help
Sounds like you stripped everything off of the phone. See if you can find a CWM file made into a pd98img.zip. Flash that to your phone via hboot. Then flash a Rom.

The full wipe zip shouldnt touch CWR. so pull battery then boot into hboot then recovery and reflash your rom. If out of panic you did other stuff likfe a factory reset already then you probably did get rid of CWR. if so try this

-Yes its probably self promotion lol
Copy a rom zip to your sd card and flash it from recovery. NEVER and I mean never do a factory reset or any full wipe without flashing a rom afterwards, or you wll be in this boat again

[Q] Stuck at HTC screen after Random Reboot

After installing CMX on my phone, the whole phone got weird. The phone froze after using it for a while. I managed to restore a CWM backup from the ViperS ROM, but I've messed that backup up with some AOSP .apk files that don't belong in there, so I flashed the ViperS ROM at the top of that backup to replace the wrong .apks and flashed it without wiping anything. After that, my phone started to do random reboots, and then, it got stuck at the HTC screen. If I pulled the battery out, it booted again, but It always reboots and gets stuck at the HTC screen again. I restored the CWM backup again without installing the ROM just to see if something went wrong during the installation, but it happens there too. Then I tried to install just the ROM, but the same happens there too. Then, I decided to format the System, Cache and Data partition and flash the ViperS ROM once again and then restoring the data from the CWM backup. That worked for about one hour, but it still reboots and gets stuck at the HTC screen. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Try flashing stock RUU for your phone, maybe that'll work, at least back to normal...

[Q] Why did I get stuck while trying to install Viper?

Earlier, I tried installing ViperXL 2.1.0 ROM, wiped the cache, system, and factory restored in TWRP.
When I was installing the ROM, it got stuck at 90%, so I just gave up. This is my first android phone in two years, so I am just
starting to get use to ROMs again.

Do it again. I had that happen to me once.
Reboot into recovery, Wipe System/Factory reset and reflash.
If you rooted from 2.20 flash the boot.img first
Could also be a corrupt zip. Chrome used to do that to me.

Just flashed again and this time it was successful.
Unchecked the exchange mail mod because that is what it froze at earlier.
Vioe does that to ne often. It hangs at 90%. Then I simply reboot to twrp and flash again and it works without modifying anything.. it's weird

The problem is either related to TWRP or Aroma. I'm pretty sure all ROMs that use Aroma experience this, although I don't think I've had it happen to me since installing TWRP 2.3.1.0 (at least, from what I remember)
Rebooting back into recovery and reflashing usually works, no matter what the selection is.

Rooted now having problems

I rooted my phone last night and all day today had horrible battery life (4 hours little usage) along with some what looked to be screen reboots. I only rooted phone did not install a rom nor any aps other than titanium. Any ideas why why this is happening and what I should do? Not new to rooting had an incredible that I spent many hours playing with.

Which method did you use to root your phone? There are several different ways to do it.
Have you checked your battery stats to see what is using your battery? Have you tried restarting your phone?
If restarting your phone doesn't solve your issues, you could install a custom recovery and then wipe your data, cache and dalvik-cache, and then install a new ROM which should solve any of your problems (much like your probably did on your Incredible). If you don't want to use a custom ROM, there are strock, rooted images available both for flashing through ODIN as well as flashing through Recovery.
I used the casual file method. Checked battery stats and nothing out of the ordinary. Also rebooted phone several times. I have a mac so I can't use Odin to go back to stock and try again. I also don't want to install a custom rom yet because I'm waiting for some bugs to be fixed on the synergy rom before I make that jump. My main reason for getting root was to freeze some apps in the meantime (haven't frozen any yet) and to enable the gps toggle switch on car dock via nfc which is working great.

Since I can't use Odin how would I go back to stock? Install the nandroid backup i made then unroot using casual? But before trying that do you think wiping dalvik might work? Strange that this is happening.

So you do have a custom recovery installed already? You don't need Odin as long as you have a custom recovery.
You can try clearing both your cache and dalvik-cache in recovery, and then reboot to see if it solves your problems.
If it doesn't, then backup and sync your data (wiping your data won't wipe your "internal sd card", but you will lose all of your system settings). UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER (search for ez-unlock on the market). Then put this on your sd card (or internal memory): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941334
Boot to recovery. Wipe data, cache, and dalvik-cache. Install that stock, rooted ROM. Reboot and reset up your phone settings.
i used the recovery that was suggested with the casual process. I think i might have fixed my issue i downloaded Rom Manager and reinstalled recovery and powered off my phone then removed battery and now the phone is smooth again but im still noticing that my battery is draining rather quick. This is very strange. Im thinking of unrooting and trying it all over again. I just need to find the original Verizon image.
