Hello,
I have been lurking in this forum for some time now and am leaning towards getting the HD2. I intend to use it heavily browsing the Internet for research purposes and copying selections on the clipboard for later use. Is there a way (an app maybe) that allows you to use your finger to scroll through the pages and also immediately select text. I read somwhere that in order to select text you have to first press the menu button then press the select text option . Too much work especially if you intend on copying many snippets of text. Is there a browser that will let you select text immediately wthout having to go through extra presses.
Thanks
Getting pandora Radio to work on HD2 ( for WVGA devices )
-If you intall the new pandora radio cab for VGA devices from the pandora website you would need to pay for the service
-If you Install the old pandora cab the buttos are all over the place and their too small
This guide is for fixing all of that and gettig it to work properly on your HD2
(UPDATE)
You can just Download the .cab file from Here
Then go to >start>settings>Personal>Buttons> and assign the Send Key(Hold) Under> 2. Assign a program: and select Input Panel.
Assigning that key is for enabling the keyboar as the keyboard is not going to pop up automatically after assigning the key just press and hold the send/green phone button and the keyboard should pop up so you can type in your login info.
OR TRY THIS
1. Download VGA Pandora Files.zip from Here
2. Unzip it and copy the 4 files to your SD card
3. Open file explorer and Install the pandora cab, advance config tool cab, you will need Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 to install avanced config tool so if you dont have it already in your phone install the NETCFv35.wm.armv4i cab
4. Open pandora radio from the start menu and enter your credentials or create a new acc (dont skip this step becuase if you leave it for last you wont have a keyboard to enter your credentials so you MUST DO IT NOW) once you are logged in you will nottice that the buttons are all over the place dont worry about that and close the pandora app
5. Open Advce configuration tool from the start menu and navigate to Network>TCP Window and change the value to 98304
6. Save your changes, and soft-reset.
7. Go in to file explorer and replace the orginal pandora.exe (in \Program Files\Pandora\Pandora.exe) with the pandora.exe from VGA Pandora Files.zip (the last of the 4 files I asked you to move to your SD)
8. ENJOY
Seems to be a problem for UK users to access the service - copyright issues. So I assume this is for US only... unless anyone knows differently.
thnx everything worked except that u can't create new stations because there is no keyboard. is that how its supposed to be? I mean ill settle fir this tho its better than nothing at all. thnx anyways tho. still great.
...or you can get the WVGA version for the TP2. Am I missing something here?
http://fluffyphones.com/fluffy-apps/pandora-htc-touch-pro-2-rhodium-wvga-windows-mobile-download/
That's what I have and it works excellent on the HD2 -- buttons and everything. The only problem that I encounter is that I can't seem to receive incoming calls when Pandora is playing.

thanks.
Go into settings. Menu -> All Settings -> Personal -> Buttons.
Change "Send Key (Hold)" to "<Input Panel>". (you prob have to change the other "Button"s to different assignments. I changed them to random things and haven't encountered any problems yet) Exit out.
Now when pandora needs you to type, just long press the Send key and the keyboard should popup.

I installed the CAB but I can't seem to get into "settings" as described above. Is "Menu" located somewhere while Pandora is running?
Works but is u-ugly
Great setup, works wonderfully. Is there a way to make this appear more formatted to the HD2 screen? Everything is bunched at the bottom for controls and the images are to right overlapping in the middle.
Thanks all!

I don't believe you can. I wasn't meant to be used on the HD2 large screen.
Still trying to get keyboard
When i attempt to change the voice command to text input it doesn't stay. When i leave the page it goes back to voice command. Is there something I'm supposed to do? I tried double clicking but that didn't do anything. It just won't stay on text input. Can anyone help me?

Start/Settings/Personal/Buttons
Make sure the Button (Send key/Hold) is highlighted. Then scroll up to <Input Panel>. You should see the assignment change then hit OK.
If the Button is not highlighted it will not make the change.

I got this to work. First, I installed Resco Explorer (Free 7 day trial): at
(I tried posting links to each cab, but as a new user, I can't post links...sorry.)
Next, I installed Zoomer (German site, but the App is in English):
(Link Removed)
(Original Zoomer XDA post:
(Link Removed)
and I installed the Pandora TP2 app found here:
(Link removed)
After these three apps were installed, I opened Resco Explorer, and found the Pandora app that had been previously installed. When I opened Pandora from within Resco, the on-screen key to bring up the keyboard was present. I simply was able to click on each field in Pandora, and hit the soft key to being up the keyboard. Once I entered my login information, Pandora simply started to work. I then ended all programs, opened up Zoomer, picked Pandora from Zoomer's list, and did a soft reset. Now when I open Pandora from the WinMo honeycomb, I can pinch and zoom (and reposition the zoomed portion of the screen) to make things easier to work with.
I followed this procedure on both my and my wife's new TMoUS HD2s and the the Pandora works fine on both.
Good luck.
(P.S. I like the Resco functionality, so I'll be buying the program after the trial ends)

Sign up online first on say your desktop or laptop and then all you have to do is log in on phone and all your stations will be there.

This worked perfectly for me. From my HD2's HOME SCREEN (not in Pandora) I navigated to Settings, Menu, All Settings, Personal, Buttons to change Send (long press) to (Input Panel)
Thanks!
what worked for me
i just had the same problem. i just pressed the home key went to the task manager then selected pandora and when i went back the keyboard was there again. repeat process for all of the fields and there you go free misic. thanks for the great work guys.
The first post mentions "the new pandora radio cab for VGA devices from the pandora website".
I might be willing to pay $3 for a more *official* way of making Pandora work on my HD2. My question is: Where on the Pandora site is this $3 cab file? I can't find it.
fucntions perfectly, first time install without incident.
thanks for the work!
From starting up
As windows have able to set manual or automatic
I can open more then 4 tabs in browser but then memery clear the old one and need to load back therea opion to fix it
I'm not really sure what you are asking. Not trying to be a troll or offend you, but could you re-ask your question using some punctuation and full sentences.
ok
i have 2 questions
first i wanna know if there a app that can change the setting of service to manual so the service wont start automatically when booting HC
as windows users use services.msc to ctrl the starting up config
the second question is about browser
i cant open more then 4 active tabs
i mean if i open more then 4 tabs the first tab that was open wont be in the memory anymore its will cleared and it will have to refresh it and loading from internet
is there reg to make it more ?
Search the market for "startup manager" or "autostart" you'll find several programs for controlling what stays up automatically.
I can open many tabs in the stock browser; are you sure the tabs aren't just hidden (swipe on the tab bar to see more tabs)
you can open as many tabs as you want, but i think his question was if you open more than 4, only 4 stays in memory, and the other ones are "kicked out" of memory (not close the tab, but empty out it's contents), and when you visit the tab again, it needs to reload the page it's set to.
I've noticed there is a max number of tabs. When i reach this limit, i can no longer "open in new backgroud tab". Its something like 25 tabs but not sure exactly. However even with that many open, they all stay in memory for me...
Theres a strange issue in Windows Phone 7
Basically open up IE, load something like google then another site. Press Windows Key, then open another app.
Close that and then load up IE again. Now how the heck are you ment to navigate back a page?
As the back button will now take you back a step in apps and not pages.
Press the Tabs icon... should have a small 2 on it now (two open IE windows).
Theres no extra tabs as I don't open links in new tabs.
Hi all,
I've been having trouble with SkyDrive in the Office hub ever since I bought an Omnia 7 in september. I've tried various Microsoft forums and answers.microsoft.com, but so far there has been no helpful response. I have however found someone else with this exact same problem and no solutions.
The problem seems to be that the Office hub wants to connect to some sort of test version of SkyDrive. I derive that from the following behaviour:
- In the Office hub i go to the Locations page and tap on SkyDrive.
- It goes to a page titled SkyDrive, and immediately pops up a "SIGN IN" dialog where my Live account is already filled in. It has 2 buttons: sign in / cancel.
- I tap "sign in".
- It says "refreshing view" with the blue running dots for a second, then pops up an error: "Something's wrong. We encountered a problem and couldn't complete this task." This dialog has 1 button: "Ok". I tap it.
- Now at the top where it said "SkyDrive", it now says "DOCS.LIVE-TST.NET"
At any point in the Office hub where it's supposed to connect to skydrive it shows me the login dialog followed by the error.
If i tap and hold a notebook and view the synchronisation status it says: "There was a problem and we couldn't complete this task. Try again. Error code: 80078862". I've googled this code and found nothing.
An often recommended fix for other SkyDrive problems is to open the SkyDrive website thru the browser on the phone, and then open a note or notebook so it fires up the application. If i try this i get a different error: "Can't open link. OneNote doesn't support this server version and can't open the requested content."
I've tried the obvious "reset office from the settings menu".
This all leads me to believe that somewhere there is a setting in the Office hub that makes it only want to connect to this (test-version?) of SkyDrive called docs.live-tst.net.
Since today I have used this WindowBreak method, so now I'm hoping someone can suggest a way to fix this, maybe by accessing certain registry keys that determine the URL's the Office hub tries to connect to.
Any other help or suggestions is obviously also welcome.
EDIT: Solved! See post #4 for details.
I have had problems where the SkyDrive only works sometimes. When it works it's great but when it sucks, boy does it suck. I have never been a fan of the cloud service and this one of the reasons why. Also when I try to pull my epubs from Skydrive using Freda; it just crashes. WTH is wrong with just giving us access to our damn system folders and letting us store our stuff on the phone like in Windows Mobile. At this rate Windows Phone will always be in third place.
Well if it'd work properly I might be really happy with SkyDrive, but with the problems it's giving me it's hard to say.
I was hoping to sync a notebook with grocery lists with my gf, but I'm forced to use Google Docs now.
Well, fixed it with a combination of WindowBreak and WP7 Root Tools and fiddling in the registry.
In the path local machine/software/microsoft/office mobile/skydrive/ I have changed the following keys:
SkyDriveServer from value "docs.live-tst.net" to "docs.live.net"
SkyDriveServerForURLParsing from value "live-tst.net" to "live.net"
SkyDriveServerForURLParsing-INT from value "live-tst.net" to "live.net"
SkyDriveServerForWEBURLParsing from value "skydrive.live-int.com" to "skydrive.live.com"
SkyDriveServerForWEBURLParsing-INT from value "skydrive.live-int.com" to "skydrive.live.com"
SkyDriveServer-INT from value "docs.live-tst.net" to "docs.live.net"
I can happily report that everything seems to sync now. The folder structure of SkyDrive and its notebooks is still a mystery to me, but that's not part of the problem I was having.
It does make me curious how I ended up with the not-working settings in the first place.
