So, you've downloaded and been blown away by the most advanced ROM on the One S - ViperOneS by Team Venom!!
Well, the fun doesn't end there! Thanks to Team Venom's powerful theme engine, you can change multiple elements of the theme on the fly - a never-before seen feature on any ROM.
Of course as with anything new, there is much confusion how this works. The aim of this thread is to clarify how to change various aspects of the theme, and unleash the full power of the Viper!
There are 2 aspects to themeing on ViperOneS:
The built in theme engine (covering statusbar icons and Sense icons)
The custom skin
To some degree, the effects of these are independent. So you can change aspects of the built in theme without changing the skin, or change the skin but keep theme elements. Or even keep everything, and just change the Sense icons. The possibilities are endless.
The secret to ViperOneS's stunning good looks is a combination of the two, and we'll take a closer look at this over the next four posts:

So you've read about the revolutionary theme engine in the ROM thread. But what exactly can you do with it? Basically, it allows you to alter some of the graphical elements on the fly, without needing to flash or even reboot.
Using Venom Tweaks, you can change the appearance of:
Statusbar icons
EQS icons
Battery icons
Sense icons
Notification shade background
App drawer background
These elements are all independent and can be changed to suit your tastes. So, you can use icons from different icon sets to mix and match your own personal theme.
But that's not all. Take a closer look at the screens where you choose statusbar themes and iconsets. You'll notice that each supported statusbar icon can be changed independently. So you like wifi icon from theme A, but battery from theme B? No problem, download both and mix it up as much as you want. You're only limited by what's available in the Hub.

So, you should have noticed the option, in Aroma Installer, to activate the Venom theme. Either you ticked it, and are basking in the warm RedVenom glow.
Or you didn't...and now you're wondering how different things could have been if you had just taken the other pill. Well, the answer to your questions lie here. The following screenshots will give you an idea of how the theme looks, in case you chose not to install it:
Basically, your choice of theme controls all aspects of appearance, apart from those listed in the previous post.
For example:
red highlights on notification shade
red lines on dialog boxes
red elements on checklists/tickboxes etc
red outlines on Dialer button presses
red keyboard
Graphical elements that aren't controlled by Venom's theme engine can be changed by switching skins, within the "Personalize" menu. Once you choose your preferred skin, you will nearly completely remove all the stock HTC green.
Homescreen and lockscreen "notification bubbles" remain green due to limitations in the current version of m10 tools

As if the ROM wasn't customisable enough, the ROM devs have also developed the Venom theme kitchen.
Really want some statusbar icons that aren't in the Hub. Or got a great idea for a set of Sense icons? Why not make it yourself and share it with others via the Venom Hub?!
We've put some themes in the Hub to get you started, but the aim is to fill it with user generated content. We've tried to make the tutorial as easy as possible, but if you have any questions, here's the place to ask.
Post your completed themes here, with a screenshot. If the theme looks nice we will add it with credits to the venom hub, so all users can download it from there!
One thing we ask though - ideally you'd be using icons you've created yourself. If you are going to use someone's else icons, please ask them for their permission first. We all spend a lot of our free time making these, and it's really annoying to see your work ripped off by someone else! I'm sure you'd all agree. If you used icons from the UOT kitchen, then say so.
If you want to try out the kitchen, but stuck for ideas check the To Do list in post 5. I'm sure someone out there would be happy if you managed to tick one of those off - I know we would be!!

OK I'm going to give icons a shot...please bear with me, I'll probably cover them in spray paint or something, I only have GIMP. And this is one of my first attempts at theming..
BTW - there are already 10 One S exclusive Statusbar Themes in Hub, which I finished during the development process.
Just a couple of tips:
Those who are familiar with compiling can certainly still do the job with their existing tools.
For pure battery Themes you can just grab one under data/app as template and use that as a working base
Never forget to edit package name in AndroidManifest and strings.xml and sign the apk with our kitchen.
Use our battery renamer, if you use UOT batteries as a base
If you`ve seen a nice Theme in our sister Theme thread over @ Sensation forum, just install the apk and report here how it worked with a screenshot. Sensation thread is active since a while and you might also find nice stuff already there.
If you only want to recolor stuff, but hit a wall since some pngs are indexed and look terrible, if you open them in Photoshop. You can fix that in batch with "Fastone Photo Resizer"
If you want to recolor many stuff in batch and you have Photoshop, but aren`t a Pro. Use actions to save what you`ve done to first png, then run the built in automate batch based on that recorde action. You can then grab a coffe, while Photoshop is doing your job

Since these are installable apps, you can without any risk try stuff from all devices (except Skins). In some cases a status bar theme might not be perfect from One X, but you can still use the battery icons. If they don't fit your needs, just uninstall like any play store app. The best fit is certainly if you mainly take those designed for hdpi devices. Skins for hdpi also work on One S, but these are a rare find anyway compared to Status and Sense Themes.

All the themes I create will be based off of Myns latest ROM "Warm TwoPointTwo" which is from the newest OTA update of 3.70.651.1. The themes posted here will work on all ROMS with that update (3.70)
I have four themes up for download so far...EnamoRED, Mynimalist, Detox and the newest version of Aloysius It's has a ton of color in it...I tried not to lean towards one color more so than the other. Perhaps a little bit more blue and red, but I'd say it's fairly well balanced throughout.

I created a 4x5 workspace homescreen with a 5 row app drawer version of Aloysius, and most to all the widget that come with ROMS have been altered to fit the new screen size. This version is "not for me" but was requested by several people and ultimatly decided to make one up. There will be widgets from apps in the market and others that may overlap some other icons, so you'll have to be creative with how you set up your screens This version will have limited support by me...as I won't flash this to my phone to work on it. I'll update it as I update the 4x4 version.

Here is the reincarnation of EnamoRED....fit for the lastest Myn ROM 5! This was one of the first themes I did after Aloysius, I also did a blue twin of it called Sapphire (a few would remember, haha).
Well, here is it for 2.2 in full force....well, just about anyways. There is some green left here and there, but I'll get all of it...don't you worry. As with Aloysius there will be updates to this one, as this theme also has full colored menus!
There are some things I didn't turn red, like the menu icons....I felt it didn't need it. Your thoughts?

For now I am sticking with the Gingerbread launcher, as I am really addicted to it I will be making a flashable update for those who use launchers with the original Rosie launcher....and would like the old school Detox launcher look (some of you will remember).

This is a rather dark theme.....but I am rather partial to dark themes anyways, hence Myns ROM I re-themed the dialer just a bit, and I also re-themed the launcher. With this theme I wanted to do something a little less "Gingerbread" and a tad more "Mynimal"
My ultimate goal for this theme was, less is more. So I made all the taskbar icons smaller then I usually have them (you can see them clearly smaller on your phone)...there is no color in this theme aside from the green through out the phone, and a touch here & there from the Myn ROM itself.
The new Gingerbread Menu Myn has coming for us as an optional install will look CRAZY hot with this theme!

I stayed up all last night finishing this up....lol.
Here is Evo Elite, a previous theme I created that I'm bringing back to life. This version has a "few" new taskbar icons, and the rest are all the original Elite icons. I did have to update the battery to display 1-100% and also the charging animation. I slightly re-did the signal icons and 4G icons...and completely revamped the GPS icon all together
This was first thought up in mind for use with LauncherPro, although I orginally did put together a cheesy sense dock for those who didn't want to use LP.....but this time, I put alot of thought into the launcher & I hope you all like it as much as I do
Also for those who want to have the icons as I do for the apps as they are seen in these screen shots, I have a zip you can download with about 500+ glass icons (as seen)......simply use Desktop Visualizer to achive what you would like

I'll check into that, Thanks for the feedback, this is why i particularly need comments, I don't have any testers, i test all my uploads before posting them though.
Edit: I just checked the original as well as the upload to see if they some how got mismatched while uploading, and it looks like its the correct color.
try re-installing from ClockMod Recovery, be sure to NOT clear the cache if you install via ROM manager or you will lose your widget or have FC errors
I extracted the files before loading to see if it will flip or not. I'm trying to find a flip clock that does not bleed the numbers once it flips.

all of my flip clocks do not "bleed" or overlap when they flip. Only transparent clocks have that problem right now on the Desire clock. I made sure of that before uploading them, thats why the transparent ones do not have the Desire HD version.
The OP has this information on which ones have and which ones don't

I am using Uncommon Sense 1.1. I flashed this, and it seems to be working fine. The only problem I have is that tapping on the clock doesn't bring up the clock/alarms. The weather still works fine though. Any ideas? I'm using the CC Red v2 Deodexed. Thanks.

Detox was originally created by cubanaso and ported to the Evo for use on Sense by Konikub. Being my favorite theme of all time, I wanted to bring the original look to CyanogenMod. There are two versions available here. The "Cubanaso Version" carries the signal/wifi status bar icons of the original theme and the "Modern Version" has signal/wifi status bar icons that I put my own spin on. Other than that, these two are identical. Enjoy!

This was my first attempt at any kind of Android theming and I have no idea how to go about porting it yet, but that doesn't mean I can't read up on it. I might once the holidays are over and I find some time. I also might wait for CM7 to come out and create a theme from scratch. We'll see how well this goes over.

Yes. You have to be rooted to be able to install CM6.1 which this theme is for, so you would have to be rooted to use a theme. You have to be rooted to be able to flash anything (afaik).

SENSE 1.0 THEMING PROJECT
Goal:
Provide a place for themers to come and develop beautiful themes that will work with ALL HTC EVO 4Gs running Sense 1.0.
Introduction:
My name is swagstr and I am currently the lead developer of SOS. My goal is to create themes that can be used on any Sense 1.0 ROM. Since these ROMs all use the same base, why not share themes?
The EVO Classic:
tommytomatoe has put together a far superior ROM than most Sense 1.0 ROMs and themes for other Sense 1.0 ROMs may hinder some features of The EVO Classic. Therefore, special considerations should be taken by users of this ROM.
This is NOT for:
Sense 2.1/3.0 ROMs, including: Synergy, MikG, The Express
Sense 3.6/4.0 ROMs
AOSP/ICS/MIUI ROMs, including: CyanogenMod, CIUI
What I Will Provide:
I will provide a forum thread that I will keep organized.
I will provide free webspace (under swaggedoutstock.com/#YOURNAMEHERE) to any themer.
I will assist themers in making their themes compatible with DEODEXED and ODEXED ROMS and The EVO Classic as well as stock Sense 1.0.
The Format (i.e. What You Will Provide)
To have your theme included in this post, please post a link to a currently existing thread or have your file attached/linked to your post. Let me know if you would like the file hosted.
Each Theme should be laid out in a piece-wise format and/or a complete package. Preferably, if you are preparing a full theme, you should provide the pieces.
An example is if you are making a theme for a dock - you will simply provide a flashable Rosie.zip theme. If you are providing a theme that themes the dock, clock, and status bar - you should provide a full package and a separate Rosie, HtcClockWidget, and SystemUI.apk. This way, people will be able to mix and match themes as they see fit.
Big pieces (dock, clock, etc.) should be handled by flashable .zips. Little pieces (remappable dock icons, battery icons, notification pulldown backgrounds) should be handled by ZipThemer. You do not need to provide every little detail of your theme as a a ZipThemer, but if you like to provide options (different right dock buttons, for instance) you should provide ZipThemers for these options (instead of multiple flashable .zips).
Conclusion:
Lets make our EVOs even better already! And of course, credit will be given where credit is due. If you see someone's work that is not being credited properly, let me know. If you are going to use someone else's work (as a base for your theme, to include in ROM, etc), let them know and make sure you give proper credits.

Which link should I click on for my ROM?
Depending on your ROM, you should click on one of three links.

If an "Odex" option is not available, the themer has provided an AROMA installer package that will ask you whether or not you are using odex and will install the appropriate packages.

Well, I was going to use a Tweaks app. But now that I think about it, the app re-directs to LaunchKey... so it's going to be needed either way.

Either way! I would prefer if you threw a post up here with some insight, like what you want for the descriptions and such. But, yeah, whatever is easier.
I started hosting mine at dev-host in folders to keep em organized and see download counts, is this still cool?

Well, we SHOULD. But users aren't the best at adopting ZipThemers. I think ZipThemers will be very handy for dock icons, battery icons, little pieces of the status bar and such. But a Rosie built off of SOS's base will flash on Nitrous and is much easier for the end-user to use
and what about this? I use it on my transformer and it works great, all we would need is a template to start from.

Well, some have white text and some have dark text, but that can be swapped out with a ZipThemer. However, I need to change a few little things on my SystemUI.apk. Give me a few days and I will post that.

Summer Breeze - the first Sense 4.0 Theme for the One S
Sense 4.0 Theme restrictions:
The Sense UI is controlled since version 3.0 via m.10 files, which are part of some important apk`s like Rosie, but especially play a big role in central fusion.apk. We were able to decode these up to Sense 3.5 thx to a great reverse engineering effort by flemmard and Diamondback. That is unfortunately history with Sense 4.0, since there is no working compiler yet. This locks down important parts of the UI for Themers like Launcher Dock, Lockring, some press effecs, watch, HTC Widget tops & bottoms, lockring and more. Also resources.arsc of the new Sense dialer is still locked. This only as prerequisite to understand, what can and what can`t be done atm with Sense Themes.
The concept:
Sense and AOSP sometimes have a fight in terms of color and depth of graphics concept on the One S. Sense is green and has more depth in the graphics, where AOSP frequently pops up with blue and flat ICS style. Developing a true blue AOSP Theme would always have limits, since some parts would still remain Sense green due to the locked m.10`s. Also Sense and green have a long tradition and so I decided not to fight against Sense, but to enhance the Sense experience and make sure that Sense and AOPS parts blend nicely together and stop their fight. So in Summer Breeze you will recognize, that Sense UI will come closer to the famous flat ICS style innterms of graphical interface elements, where AOSP parts now share the typical Sense green. Now the whole UI is much more consistent and you don`t have the feeling, that 2 different systems (AOSP & Sense UI) exist on our One S.
Base:
This Theme is based on latest LeeDroid ROM and made for his fantastic project. Nevertheless I designed the Theme, that it should work on most deodexed Custom ROM`s, which are based on 1.78 ROM. So hopefully many of you guys can enjoy this Theme.

Disclaimer
I always like to share my work, but please don`t be lazy and just grab my work. Since Sense UI is so big, I had to change and design over 1000 new png`s and adjust ton`s of code to integrate all mods and ensure, the UI is as consistent as possible on AOSP and Sense parts. So you can always ask, if you need something.
What you need:
Unlocked Bootloader, CWM, LeeDroid ROM or Deodexed 1.78 ROM
Install:
Flas the update.zip in recovery and follow the instruction of Aroma Installer. Install the main Theme first and boot. Then reboot in recovery and install your favorite add-ons. Don`t apply any Skins, this will overwrite important parts of the Theme
Nandroid is as always recommended
Suggestions:
This Theme works best with customized Nova or Apex Launcher in add-ons. You can easily replace most Sense widgets either with themed Wizz Widgets (part of the package) or APW (Play store).

Restore
The Installer includes a restore function. Since I don`t know, which ROM you are using, you only need to copy files from your ROM in the matching restore folders and restore with Aroma in Recovery. Alternatively you can restore by simply reflashing your ROM, just wipe system, cache and dalvik cache (no data or SD!).
Remove Stuff
The Installer offers you to remove some add-ons or even de-Sense your ROM.

No, this Theme has to many resources and classes changes for a script like ninjamorph.

Im on the latest leedroid, but when i flash the theme the only thing that change is the signal bar and wifi, but i see on your screen shot your dialer is different. im i doing something wrong?

Is the server temporarily slow for the download? Or does it just need a lot of patience. (31Kb/s)
What about changing the icons manually? Like extract and exchange icons? I just really want to change the WiFi, signal, and battery icons

You might be using a different Skin than the Default HTC Skin?
Just installed it! It's sexy! I installed Nova with the Wizz widgets, but I'm afraid I'll be using the Sense launcher anyway. The look and feel of the Sense Widgets just miss on the other launchers.
I chose the "Solid statusbar" but it's still transparent. You do mean the statusbar on top, right? Or is it the background of the Pulldown Notifications that becomes solid?
From a design point of view (no critisism, just feedback) the icons in the Reboot Menu look a bit off with the grey gradient with a drop shadow on the white background. The contrast is very low (grey on white) and throughout the ICS design, contrast between dark/light is high. For example stock black/dark with bright blue. And just feel like the drop shadow doesn't fit well in the whole ICS look. Most design elements are flat (no drop shadows) as far as I know. They look better in the Quick Settings
But great work! I love it. A lot better than I had, especially liking the green Statusbar icons!

You can flash them from my Tweak Machine. Only the link to Tweaks in statusbar will not work with Tabbed version, but it integrates nicely with the Theme. In any case I will work on an option with same look and tabbed EQS and try to integrate the correct link to tweaks.

The server is what it is, it's dev-host. It works well most of the time, but when it's slow, there is no way I can influence it...

Obviously you should flash again, did you check the Theme in Aroma Installer?

It's the background in expanded statusbar, that becomes solid. Regarding power menu I agree, that will be improved in next updates.
Here`s a screenshot from my device, it´s now a very soft dark grey to black center gradient, which also looks a lot flatter.

A lot better. Personally, I'd get rid of the shadows though. Or make it a non-blurry shadow if you really want a shadow.
But definitely looks a lot better than the light gradient! Great.
