Hi,
i just got rooted my g2x 2.3.3 (stock rom), can anybody help me how to overclock it??
Thanks
You need to flash a kernel that supports overclocking. Check over in the development section for one that's compatible with your rom.

After you flashed the new kernel you have to use something like SetCPU (from the market) to set the processor speed higher. You can set it up to the maximum speed allowed by the kernel you flashed. Just be careful about running it at max speed for too long. This phone is plenty fast at 1GHz so no need to set it too high and risk damaging your phone.

@MisfitX,
how if i want to back to original like before i flash this kernel, what i have to do like uninstall this kernel maybe?
Sorry, i'm new on this.

Has anyone posted a flashable zip for the stock GB kernel so if you try this and don't like it you can go back to stock easily? I have searched and cannot find it.

The best way would be to make a backup first, then follow the steps to flash the new kernel.. That way if you don't like it or if you have a problem you can always reboot into recovery and restore that backup..
Side note: its always a good idea when flashing anything to your phone to have a back up plan. Like what you will do if something has a problem or you don't like it.. Backup, backup, backup..
Good luck hope this helps

I tried this but it didn't seem to work. I saw the new kernel version in settings, and in SetCPU it showed 1100 as the speed, but when I went to adjust the slider it maxed out at 1000, not 1500. Did I do something wrong?
When in set cpu ; settings; detect new frequencies. Then try it.

There are two threads/ variations of faux kernels. One is for GB like this one and the other is for cm7 based. Use the other kernel 050b1 i think.

I running T15-G2x-06022012 with CM7 RC3 OCed to 1400 with out issues
For Faux's 014b2 kernel, which do you recommend when running Kwes' modified stock ROM (v21y)? I see pre-UV and stock voltage versions. I'm leaning towards stock voltage, but is there a major advantage for the pre-UV? (I'm not even really sure what is meant by pre-UV -- pre-under voltage?)
Thanks!
EDIT: pre-UV is pre-under volted. From a little more reading, I found that pre-UV means the kernel has a -50mv UV already. So if using UV/OC tools and apps, you need to take into account that -50mv already.

Originally I created this thread to showcase the CM7 and GB kernel lines. The reason I choose this is that I personally have used every kernel i uploaded. And thats the other point, I uploaded/mirrored these specifically as most new members are first time flashing this phone, so most tend to flash CM7/GB ROMs for stability. Alot of this older ROM material is getting buried/harder to find or the links are dead, and the latest has been government seizure of hosting servers.
That being said, if people want this to be a thread containing a collection of all kernels old and current i can change it up. I will need your help as i am a full time college student and work full time as well. Any kernel that you would like listed in the OP, please link me, or if you have it on your PC, PM me and send it as an attachment via email. Any kernel i list i want to upload /mirror that way i know the links are valid, and if for some unseen reason the current service im using for hosting gets caught up in a government seizure, i will be able to move everything to a second site more easily.
As always, open to suggestions and appreciative of your help.
We are a community.

Hey Guys,
I'm using the AOKP rom for the One S, and I like to keep my phone updated. The dev recently posted a kernel, but I'm not sure of the changes and I'm not sure how to install it. The post is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33868407&postcount=1440
I am not allowed to post in the developmental forums.
Can someone help me with the install and list the changes (if possible?)

The new boot.img is very similar to zarboz aosp kernel. OC to 1.89, voltage control, new governors, etc.
I believe zarboz either shared code or helped him make it. I'm running it right now. Very smooth.
And as far as installation, either use flash img gui (available in the play store and posted in countless threads) or use fastboot.
