Well, on my Inspire I have flashed a custom rom that gives me up to a 1400 score on my Quadcore tests, yet I see other people hitting 2000-2500, what am I doing wrong? I'm using Core Droid v5.0 with a flashed radio that speeds up my download and upload speeds. Do you guys have any advice on how to speed up my Android?
And by the way, yes I do have set CPU and I have the settings on Max (1024000) and on Minimum (245761) I also have set on boot ticked along with profiles to save battery life. Any help is appreciated.
Sincerely,
RootTheNoob
Are you running a kernael that can be overclocked?
How can I tell of it can be overlooked, and I'm pretty sure I am its the default core Droid Rom, or do I have to install the kernel separately as well?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
The default CoreDroid kernel isn't overclocked. Also if you have an overlooked kernel, setcpu would let you push past 1ghz.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
I think you can use the leedroid kernel with coredroid can't you? If so, I'm using that one. It will overclock to 1.8. I only run at 1.2 though.
see post 957:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12123867&highlight=leedroid#post12123867
So what do I set it to to overclock it?
First you have to floash the kernel. The you use the slider in set cpu to overclock.
How do I flash it?
Sounds like you have some reading to do. Download the kernel to the root of your SD card. Then from ROM manager use CWM to flash rom from SD Card. DO A BACK UP FIRST THOUGH. Read the first few leedroid posts and that will help
No, I know how to flash things but what kernel do I use?
What kernel do I use with Core Droid?
http://leedroid.ftp.rshost.eu/DHD-Kernels/
it is the 2.2.9. Check his post here and it will tell you what you are getting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991848
Try the Inversely ROM...sure its stock based but the kernel can be oc'd to 1.8.... at 1.5 I got over 2600 and at 1.8 I got a 3309 and could do better sub some tweaking...right now though kernel is not a separate flash package.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Um..should be Ingersoll ROM.
Autocorrect fail....
What also helps is be fully charged...do your quad right after fresh boot and stop/shutdown all background processes you can..that's when you get best score.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
Edit: hey he just posted his kernel ad a separate package...will make things interesting.
Guys, none of those kernels worked , I had to restore my Android to a previous backup.
Anything I can do?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Coredroid 5 is based off the the leaked GB rom no custom OC kernels are available. 1500 is about what I get with that rom also. If you want higher quadrant scores you need a froyo 2.2 based rom and kernel.

You'll prolly have to download a Rom with an oc kernel and wipe everything before you install it.
May not be what you want to do...but might be the only way to get what speeds you're wanting.
Otherwise...you'll have to wait till there's an oc kernel for the Rom your using.
yelp there isnt Oc of the core with gingerbread.. they do a 2.2 with oc. i havent done those yet cause i do like this gingerbread.. Im just going to keep with this V5.0 MIUI guys have the OC kernal for their gingerbread but they have more steps than i wanna deal with.

U should install the tegrak overclock. Running 1.2 ghz and it flies. Didn't see too much of a battery hit either. Just raise voltage to at least 1300 for that frequency. I didn't mess with the others. Also noop scheduler is really smooth

I'm running Humble 4.22 and I like it, but how did you overclock? It says in the OP to run it with imoseyon's 3.1.0 kernel which can't be overclocked.
You have to change the model number and load the module. its on page like 32 of the humble 4.22 thread. It actually works too

IF YOU BREAK YOUR PHONE ITS YOUR FAULT!!!! DONT CRY TO ANYONE ABOUT IT, YOU MADE THE CHOICE!!!!!
so what do we have here?
These are an easy to modify set of Overclocking .zip files... i have set up a number of choices for you guys, anywhere from an overclock, to an underclock.
TESTERS NEEDED!!!
I have stripped down alteredlikeness init.d installer and have set it up (i think) to do nothing but giva any A2 on
ICS init.d capabilities, doing nothing else whatsoever, but alowing you to overclock, underclock, and
any other thing you can do with a init.d capable device.
WARNING!!!!!
THIS WILL MESS UP YOUR PHONE IF YOU ARE CURENTLY RUNING ANY CM10 OR MAJICMOD!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS FOR FACTORY ICS, OR ICS PHONES THAT DO NOT ALREADY HAVE INIT.D!!!!!
WHAT IT WILL DO....READ THIS!!!!
1.) will wipe dv cache (i recomend wiping normal cache as well
2.) will install all init.d necisary files
3.) WILL DELETE ALL FILES IN INIT.D FOLDER IF ONE EXISTS!!!
INSTRUCTIONS.....ALSO READ THIS!!!
1.) download the init.d installer, and any oc or uc that matches your device below
Also make sure you have busybox installed..... I forgot this step last night for any having trouble... search the play store you will find it....
2.) reboot into recovery you are using (you must be rooted with bootstrap, not sure if will work with bootmenu....)
3.) WIPE CACHE (im not sure its necisary but i didnt do it for you so y not, it never hurts....)
3.) install init.d installer
4.) reboot (cause i like to reboot in between zip installs cause im ocd)
5.) reboot into recovery again
6.) WIPE CACHE (yes, again...)
7.) install OC/UC zip
8.) reboot
9.) let me know if it works, go to one of altered pages and hit the thank you button, and do the same for jim and rdavvisct, and everyone else on the credits, cause we all helped you.

TESTING PAUSED FOR SLIGHT REBUILD.... DONT FEEL BAD IT WAS BROKEN ANYWAY... LOL
BE AWARE!!!!! ALL A2'S ARE NOT CAPABLE OF THE SAME MHZ!!! JUST BECAUSE YOUR PHONE IS AT A FACTORY 1.2 DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO OVERCLOCK TO 1.4!!!!!!
START SLOW AND BUILD UP TO FAST!!!!
ALSO BE AWARE!!! IT DOES MATTER WHAT SPEED YOUR A2 RUNS AT FROM THE FACTORY!!!
AN A2 RUNNING AT 1.0 HAS 4 STEPS, AND AN A2 RUNNING AT 1.2 HAS 5, SO MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOD THE OVERCLOCK FROM THE CORRECT LIST BELOW!!!
THIS HAS TESTED AND WORKS WITH MAJICMOD AND CM10
SHOULD WORK ON ANY ROM WITH INITD....
UPDATE 11/27/12!!!!!
Added 1.3 and 1.4 OC for 1.0ghz factory devices... USE WITH CAUTION!!!!!!! IF YOUR PHONE ACTS WEIRD INSTALL A SLOWER .ZIP.... THIS IS A GIANT LEAP FOR A 1.0 DEVICE. I WARNED YOU, SO I NO LONGER FEEL BAD IF YOU MELT YOUR PHONE!!!

Your absolutely right, but who wants to type that in every time they reboot? And if you are running stock at 1 gigahertz go ahead and take your chances, but most people at 1 gigahertz cannot run an echo 4, unless somehow I missed something, and most people on stock 1 gigahertz cannot OC past 1.2. Thank you, however, for your input.

Ya it wasn't meant to diss this at all, as this is a much better (and safer for that matter) way to OC. I'm not sure if my silicon is especially strong or it is something else but 1.35 ghz is definitely my max. I envy those of you who are able to bump it up to 1.4, not because it is truly noticeable, but because as much as I don't like to admit it, I'm a benchmark junkie

Have you tried going up slowly using terminal emulator (ex: 1360, 1370, 1380 up to 1400) and then editing the 02overclock folder to stick on boot?
Its always best to work your way up slowly. I usually run a few stress tests and benchmarks with each clock speed. Just to see the stability of each setting.

Anyone with 1.2 GHz AT&T Atrix 2 ?
Yes. (?)
If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.
Can you share your boot.img?

It's the same one that is found in the ICS/AT&T FXZ. I haven't modified it in any way. What is it that you're trying to do that you couldn't just use the one in the FXZ or the one from your phone?

The OTA Final 4.0.4 67.21.125 contains different kernel (if your device with better silicone for 1.2 Ghz)
The SBF package by firmware team is 1 Ghz kernel
here u go ..... n dnt blame me if anythin goes wrong

That is false. I never took the ota and have flashed the FXZ package by the firmware team numerous times. If you read around the forum you'll see that it is a well known fact that some phones will run 1.2 GHz on the stock kernel and some will not. This had been discussed extensively. You can try it, though. Here is the kernel that came directly from my device after flashing the FXZ that you claim will limit my CPU to 1 GHz even though my phone still runs at 1.2 GHz.
