Hello,
i've flashed the custom rom from Thiaz, I had the 'Play Legacy' store installed, not the normal Play store.
I've opened it, and the only difference i can spot is the color, so my question is, what are the main differences and what are the benefits of that store?
Regards,
You can see purchased apps only in my apps, in normal play you will see all apps ever installed with that account (messy)..
However I think you cannot make new purchases in legacy play.

About a 4 or 5 days ago a app started showing up in my "Installed" tab in the Google Play Store. The app has no title, and it says its made by TimothyMilla. The comments on the app say that its tied to Teeter, which is an HTC Bloatware game that comes with the phone. I haven't clicked Open on the app yet because the other apps made by TimothyMilla look suspect, TimothyMilla didn't make Teeter, and I didn't install whatever this is.
My question is does anyone else have this issue, or know what it is? Or does anyone know if TimothyMilla apps are spyware? Look Out Security couldn't find any maleware, but i'm really concerned with this showing up.
I've tried wiping everything off my phone, which removed the app at first, but by the time I finished reinstalling all my apps, it showed up again. (I reinstalled apps directly from Google Play, not through a phone back up).
Yeah I have the same app showing up in my play account. Comes up clean jen scanned though..

It's Teeter, however does not know why it shows up this way.
I removed teeter via titanium Backup (never played it) and it was also gone from My Apps on the store.
Hi!
I have such strange "app" too. And I've teeter installed on my phone. Anyway, I've never seen Timothymilla before yesterdey on my phone market.
I don't want to remove Teether. What is this app?
I noticed this yesterday as well. I clicked 'Open' and it opened Teeter. I haven't noticed anything different about my phone, so for now I'm just assuming its a link anomaly of some sort.

That is exactly what it is. This "dev" has an "app" with the same package name as the stock teeter app and thus is being mistakenly tagged in the store. Timothy Milla is NOT the dev that created teeter. The same thing is happening with the GS2's stock email app. The store is mistaking it for some Russian app. This is all do to the latest update to the store, 3.5.15. In short, you don't have Timothy Milla's app, you have teeter. The market link launches teeter because that is the package on the device that corresponds to that "app."
I don't know what happened but such entry has disappeared on my Play Store.
I had a similar event show up in my apps yesterday on my Acer Iconia A500 tablet. The strange thing is that it doesn't show the typical 3 choices of Update, Open, and Un-install. It just has a button for Open. I have no idea what it is so I am not opening it.
Is there some way to block an app from showing updates?
Rooted A500 - Thor HC 14.2 ROM
TimothyMilla appeared again!
This bothers me a lot!
One thing I forgot to mention is that this unknown app of mine has no permissions listed and also has no ratings or comments section. Does your Timothy Milla app have all these usual "bits" shown in its listing, or are they also missing on your mystery app?
As for the permission list, I don't see one too. But I don't see permission even on other normal apps. As for the comments, yes, they are present, I see few comments.
This morning I had 4 apps in the update list on my tablet, but the mysterious app previously discussed was gone. Hopefully Google figured out what was going on and dealt with it on their server.
Actually it disappeared again on my device too.
So, it seems to be a Google Play issue.
I'm getting the same information on the similar thread I started on Android Forums, so it looks like the issue has been discovered and fixed.
Not spyware
Well this is a little flattering... I'd just like to clear some things up. No, this isn't some major hack on the Android market that puts you all at risk. It is however, a huge bug in the new Play Store Google put out a little while ago. Let me explain: Google used to have a list of package names that they would screen from appearing in the market for example, preinstalled apps such as Teeter. Somehow when Google updated to the Play store, this system got reversed and it somehow picked my developer account (I'm still trying to contact Google and find out how) and displayed this on your "My apps" section. No, the app was not automagically installed on your phone, it was always preinstalled but it just now showed up in the Android market because of faulty programming on the engineering team for Google Play.

There is no way my device would have an intrinsic application which doesn't even list itself in English. Especially because the device on which it appeared is running a custom ROM, so I know which apps it would have "preinstalled". I believe what you are saying is that Google initially chose to block your account based upon that app, and it somehow got through. They likely had a good reason to do so. I see you do have other apps on the store, but every one of them lists in English. Not very compelling evidence that the rogue app was something safe.
Hello, is there a way in which I can "really" say no to updates in Google Play Store? In fact, I have an app (Poweramp) that I wish to use it in a specific version without updating it regularly. Therefore, I decide to detach it from Play Store in Titanium Backup. However, when I go to Play Store, when I search Poweramp, I can still see that there is an option in which I can update it. So, I can not see that how the detach from Play Store (market) option made the change. Am I doing anything wrong or does it have an alternative way to do it? Thanks. Mmm.. I should update my Titanium Backup app since it has been a while that I am using it and way before the Play Store 4.0 was launched...
You can turn auto-update off, so you can choose which apps to update

Hi all,
I'm a new SmartWatch 2 user and I've already gone through and installed the very limited amount of apps that are interesting for me.
What I am struggling with is a single place to go to new apps. Is this something I can do in the Play Store? Doesn't seem very easy if there is.
A central hub with new apps for the watch would make things a lot easier - reviews not essential, but would be useful.

This is the most selective search for SW2 apps on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/search?q="smartwatch 2"&c=apps
I couldn't find a better way...
You also can search with "liveware"
I find it easiest to go to the smartwatch application (fastest way to get there is by tapping on the 'SW2 connected' message in the notification pull-down) and select search for applications that are optimized for the SW2. This is at the top of the list of applications that are already installed.

I'm working on a portal for Smartwatch apps. I will post about it here when ready
Sounds good. The Play store needs an option to look for Smartwatch apps or a category.

So - any news?
I think there should be two main caegories:
1) Apps FOR the smartwatch
2) Apps for Anndroid btw supporting smartwatch (apps for phone having some SW2 support)
There is this app that you could try to make things a little easier but, it's not all that great. Still better than doing it manually on your phone from the Play Store though: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=blukzapps.smartwatch.sony&hl=en
Came across 2 apps today that I get "your device isn't compatible with this version" messages. These are 2 apps I use on my axon 7 with Android 7.0 so I know they work with nougat. I've tried deleting the cache and data for the play store and Google services but still the same. Anyone have this issue or any ideas on how to stop it? Also can anyone else check the "apple music" app and see if they can install it?

Some apps just won't be compatible until the developer(s) make the app compatible specifically for the Mate 9. However, I was able to download the Apple Music app.

Well that's interesting. I'm running the us version of the phone fully stock so what would be preventing me from installing it? My play store version is 7.5.08.M-all Phone software MHA-L29567B138

Are these 2 apps on Play Store the same versions of those you used on your axon 7 with Android 7.0?
As I know, some apps will not work with Android 7.0 until their developers have distributed the latest versions and have made them compatible with nougat.
Yes, in fact I just uninstalled them on my axon 7 and reinstalled them to verify them

Decided to reset the phone this morning and see if that fixed it. Before any updates took I was able to install the 2 apps showing as incompatible, however after about 10 minutes they went back to "your device isn't compatible with this version". I uninstalled the updates to the Google Play Store as well as Google Play Services and they still said "your device isn't compatible with this version" even though I checked the Play store build number and it was the same before the update and after uninstalling the update. Some update somewhere is causing a compatibility issue and I'm not sure what it is. I may have to reset the device again and not update any of the built in apps like Gmail, Youtube, etc. and hopefully catch whats causing it.
Edit: Reset again and everything was fine. Google play store was on version 7.4.12.L.all [0] [pr] 144479971 and remained there. Installed one of the apps I was having trouble with then updated system apps one at a time. After each system app I checked the other incompatible app and everything was good. Then after updating google maps the app went back to "your device isn't compatible with this version" so I uninstalled the maps update and cleared the cache and data and the app remained "your device isn't compatible with this version" . The play store stayed on version 7.4.12.L.all [0] [pr] 144479971 and play services never updated from what I could tell. This and some of the software bugs are becoming a bit aggravating. Really hoping the update comes soon and fixes some of the issues.
It's a DPI issue...You have to set display view to large, then install whatever apps you want, then set back to small or medium. That should fix for you.

Well I was hoping that would fix it but it didn't. I set the display view to large, rebooted. That didn't work so I cleared the play store and play services cache and that didn't do it either. Lastly I cleared the play store and play services data and rebooted and that didn't work either.
I'm not sure what's causing it since both the play store and play services are the exact same versions on my mate 9 and axon 7.
Edit: OK this is just stupid. I put the view back to small and font back to normal (where I've had it this whole time except to try the above fix) and now the app allowed me to install it. I don't know what fixes it but at least it's working lol.

Having this same issue with Amazon Store App. Works fine on my PixelXL and Nexus 6P...but for some strange reason, I cannot install it on my Mate 9. Go figure. It's really the ONLY app I'm having this issue with. All my other play store apps installed fine, and my settings and logins work fine. But for the life of me - I cannot install the Amazon Store app, even thought I have successfully installed the Amazon Kindle app. too strange....

Have you tried changing the display size? That definitely has something to do with it and even though for me it didnt work at first it definitely solved the issue. Change it to large, reboot and try, if no go wipe the play store data and play services data and reboot and try again. Keep changing the display size after that and eventually it will work. For me I had given up and set my device back to small which is where it originally was and out of nowhere it worked.
Now if they could just resolve Hulu without having to contact customer service things would be great.
Hi All. Comparing my newish Mate 9 with my wife's rather ancient Galaxy S4, I noticed a difference in the Play Store app. My wife's has an extra feature in the hamburger menu just above 'settings' called 'Play Protect'.
From what I've read (I know it's function) all Android phones with Play Services v11 should have this new feature, but mine has v11. 3.02 but no Play Protect.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

In a different place, usually the same on stock/vanilla Android so hers must be different on TouchWiz or whatever Sammy calls their ui now. It's in - Google - Security - Google Play Protect and there's 2 options.
Ahh, that explains it! Thanks Benjmeister. I've also noticed that the Wife goes to the PlayStore and clicks on 'My Apps and Games' just above the list of app updates there's a little green icon with 'Play protect' next to it summarising when the last scan was made. I know I can (NOW) see that same info under Google - Security, she can see it within the actual App Store. What do you think? Another Samsung TouchWiz thingy?
