I'm looking for a widget similer to the HTC Hero Widget that has contact favorites in a vertical line with the ability to scroll up and down the list is more than what is displayed..
in the mean time, I'll look for a screen shot of it.

Scrolling widgets require Rosie, they're not workable under vanilla Android like the N1.
Why don't you just add a starred folder of your favorites to the desktop, it does basically the same thing.
thats what i have done.
but does "rosie" exist on hero and not on nexus one, they are both running android and both are HTC. is it something devoloped for the sense UI
Hi guys,
I just got froyo on my desire, so no htc sense for me, which is not such an issue as i didn't really use any of the htc sense stuff, except people widget. Now, I can't seem to find a similar replacement on the market.
Does anyone know of a simple people widget that works the same way as the htc one?
Cheers
you wont find anything as pretty as the sense widgets but if your looking just for the function try contacts sidebar it works for me
i just tried contacts sidebar, and its good but it only has 4 contacts. Does anyone know of a widget where I can choose a "group" of contacts such as "favorites (starred)" and it shows them in a list. I don't really care if the contacts are scrollable like the htc people widget, as long as I can show more than 4 and i can scroll through them with an arrow or something like that.
Also, it would be nice if i can just choose the starred contacts and not have to select contacts manually.

People/contact widget. Type Sagrebin in the marketplace. They have a free trial and a paid widgets. Exact copy
actually i found this app called speeddialer. pretty much everything i was looking for. its a 1x4 widget and you can add as many contacts as you like. only downside is that it will ONLY do the default action for that contact, which is more than good enough for me right now
thanks all for your replies.
Can anyone take a screenshot of the LauncherPro Plus Calendar widget?
I wouldn't use any of the other widgets except for the Calendar widget, which of course is the only widget that isn't pictured on launcherpro.com for some odd reason...
You can see it in this screen shot from the "Post your Screen Shot" thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7699486&postcount=2817
The main reason I got LP Plus was that you can resize all widgets. Since I got the pro version, I've found that nearly every widget I use is better after resizing.
This is the LPP calendar widget resized to be one row shorter, then the stock longer version. There are actually two sizes to choose from, the other is full screen 4x4, but I don't know why there are two sizes since you can resize them just the same.
I say BUY IT!!! its worth it and i love the launcher! i just wish it was open source so cyan could use it instead of AWD... nothing against it but i like LP Pro more...
Features for calender: You can scroll up and down to different months
add events right on the widget
View events on the widgets.
Not to mention they look very nice.
And on LPPro the resizing of widgets is definitely a plus. The 4x3 Touiter widget looks very, very nice when made resized 4x4.
Great feature.
Agenda-screenshot
Am I correct in assuming there's a agenda-style view (listing upcoming events) for the LPP calendar widget? If so, is there a screenshot of that view floating around?
Thanks
Thanks for the pictures.
Can you do an Agenda-style calendar widget? (ie showing the events rather than the month-view)

Hah, posted while I was posting.
Isn't there a thread for Launcher pro already?
Then again threads keep getting buried.

yes, there is an agenda view for each event.
took this from the 'post your screen shots' thread as I'm too lazy to take a screen myself...
pressing the '+' buttons allows you to add an event and the other icon allows you to switch from month view to the event view.
Excuse my insane 'Paint' Skillz.
and then click on the little "Calendar" icon while on agenda mode to switch back.
Thanks for the screenshots and videos everyone, it was just enough to push me over the edge

It really is, and please, pay for the app.
This dev has given the app EVERYTHING he has and has made it, imo, the best launcher available for any Android device. No only will you get the updates right away, including new upcoming widgets, but you'll be helping out a cool dude.

yes i have, but very very bad
I purchased LauncherPro Plus because I really liked the launcher itself. After that I found out about the agenda widget. It instantly became my favourite!
Thanks all, purchased
i bought this as well. the only downside i find is that there is an upper limit of stuff you can have on all your screens before the helicopter view simply fails to redraw at all. i've gotten around the 5/6 screens of icons and widgets, and no matter how i add things in a different way, that 7th screen crosses some invisible threshold and it cant display smoothly in pinch to zoom.
Well worth the $3 in my opinion. Has made running a non Sense ROM way more appealing to the point where I haven't flashed a Desire port in ages. CM6 Nightlies + LPPro is a great combo.
@SeEsAw12 Where did you get those android dock icons?
Sorry if this has been covered, but every search just pulled up the main search function issues. What I'm looking for is a way to search for a specific widget installed on the phone.
With GB, a long press on the homescreen would bring up a widget list that could be quickly scrolled through. With the stock ICS setup, the only way to add a widget is to find it by scrolling page after page of widgets until you get to the one you want. If your widget starts with one of the end letters of the alphabet, you'll be scrolling through lots of pages!
I'm surprised there isn't an easy way to search for a specific widget. I checked the search settings and can include installed apps but not widgets. Is there an easier way to quickly find a widget you want to add to the homescreen?
You can try 3rd party launcher like holo or go launcher

I've tried several - most replace the widget tab on the app drawer with the old-style longpress on homescreen to add a widget. But when you do that - the labels on the widgets don't show up! There is some bug maybe because in ICS this is not the designed way to add widgets and the labels show up as white text on white background. You can get around it by press & hold to see the single widget text but it's actually harder than stock ICS. I did read somewhere that if you root, you can go play with some of the files to fix this.
But I was hoping there was an easier way to search for a specific widget Kinda strange for Google to leave that out.
The built in calendar app lets you scroll through your events, but it's very easy to lose what day your on since the day/date info isn't a header, and scrolls out of sight along w/the events as you move through them, instead of acting like a header and staying fixed at the top of the screen, and changing each time you scroll up or down to another days events.
Has anyone seen a calendar app that provides that kind of calendar view available in an app?
This seems like an obviously missing capability. I can't find anything...anyone want to make one?
