Can anyone take a screenshot of the LauncherPro Plus Calendar widget?
I wouldn't use any of the other widgets except for the Calendar widget, which of course is the only widget that isn't pictured on launcherpro.com for some odd reason...
You can see it in this screen shot from the "Post your Screen Shot" thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7699486&postcount=2817
The main reason I got LP Plus was that you can resize all widgets. Since I got the pro version, I've found that nearly every widget I use is better after resizing.
This is the LPP calendar widget resized to be one row shorter, then the stock longer version. There are actually two sizes to choose from, the other is full screen 4x4, but I don't know why there are two sizes since you can resize them just the same.
I say BUY IT!!! its worth it and i love the launcher! i just wish it was open source so cyan could use it instead of AWD... nothing against it but i like LP Pro more...
Features for calender: You can scroll up and down to different months
add events right on the widget
View events on the widgets.
Not to mention they look very nice.
And on LPPro the resizing of widgets is definitely a plus. The 4x3 Touiter widget looks very, very nice when made resized 4x4.
Great feature.
Agenda-screenshot
Am I correct in assuming there's a agenda-style view (listing upcoming events) for the LPP calendar widget? If so, is there a screenshot of that view floating around?
Thanks
Thanks for the pictures.
Can you do an Agenda-style calendar widget? (ie showing the events rather than the month-view)

Hah, posted while I was posting.
Isn't there a thread for Launcher pro already?
Then again threads keep getting buried.

yes, there is an agenda view for each event.
took this from the 'post your screen shots' thread as I'm too lazy to take a screen myself...
pressing the '+' buttons allows you to add an event and the other icon allows you to switch from month view to the event view.
Excuse my insane 'Paint' Skillz.
and then click on the little "Calendar" icon while on agenda mode to switch back.
Thanks for the screenshots and videos everyone, it was just enough to push me over the edge

It really is, and please, pay for the app.
This dev has given the app EVERYTHING he has and has made it, imo, the best launcher available for any Android device. No only will you get the updates right away, including new upcoming widgets, but you'll be helping out a cool dude.

yes i have, but very very bad
I purchased LauncherPro Plus because I really liked the launcher itself. After that I found out about the agenda widget. It instantly became my favourite!
Thanks all, purchased
i bought this as well. the only downside i find is that there is an upper limit of stuff you can have on all your screens before the helicopter view simply fails to redraw at all. i've gotten around the 5/6 screens of icons and widgets, and no matter how i add things in a different way, that 7th screen crosses some invisible threshold and it cant display smoothly in pinch to zoom.
Well worth the $3 in my opinion. Has made running a non Sense ROM way more appealing to the point where I haven't flashed a Desire port in ages. CM6 Nightlies + LPPro is a great combo.
@SeEsAw12 Where did you get those android dock icons?

Hey guys, do you know a scrollable contact widget that works with 1.6? i'm thinking of something like pure messenger, only for contacts.
I know that we'll get eclair soon, but i still wanna knows if there exists something like that. I'm using adw launcher, which is capable of scrolling widgets.
Talking of 2.1, can you tell me a good scrollable contact widget for that? If i'm not wrong, launcher pro (plus?) brings one built in, right?

Nope, 2.1 upwards only.
Not that kind you search, but with Launcher-X Pro you can create widgets, at least with contacts (, apps & shortcuts).
For example you can create a widget where you can see up to 7 contacts.
By pressing a button in the widget you can turn to next side of the widget, where are the next 7 contacts.
In every widget you create you can add up to 72 contacts (apps or shortcuts).
Launcher-X Pro is availible in Market in 2 Versions (free & paid)
At the second screen from my phone you can see one of the widgets with my most used contacts. (pictures are pixelized)
http://www.pocketpc.ch/sony-ericsson-xperia-x10/100936-homescreens-xperia-x10i-10.html#post759807
Just have a look and try the free version of that app.
I like it.
Thanks for your answers!
I'm already using launcher-x pro, and i really like it for having my most used apps etc at hand.
But scrolling/swiping like in the pure messenger widget is just more intuitive since i don't have to precisely push a button. sounds stupid, i know, but it really makes things easier
I wonder why no one is creating a widget like this, pure messenger already shows that it's possible when you have a capable launcher. and ADW is easily one of the most used launchers out there Or is there another limitation when we're speaking about contacts instead of messages? Probably we're just obsolete fossils with our donut
Thanks anyway for your advices!
Cheers

Ive tried to look for a widget like that too, but had no luck. The best thing you can do is wait for 2.1 to come and then install LauncherPro Plus.. You'll get a scrollable people widget, much like the htc's contact widget.

You can use GDE home and it has built in task bar and additional 4x1 dock that can add any place. you can add any shortcut or contact and change icon and rename each the way you want in both dock and task bars. whats more is that you can add any number of icons and scroll both ways. Check it out.

I am looking for Agenda/Calender and Bookmark widgets like the ones on HTC Sense. I have tryed Launcher Pro Plus widgets but I don't want to use LP on my TF. I have also tryed Pure Grid Calendar widget w/Sense skin but it is buggy and isn't scrollable on my TF..The Calender n Bookmark widget on the TF are small and pathetic.
If anyone can recommend a good Agenda/Calender and Bookmark widget that is scrollable and works as smooth as the Sense or LP ones please let me know! Thanks
I'm quite a fan of touch calendar - the paid version has the widgets that you can set to display x number of upcoming/past weeks in a given widget size. It's not scrollable directly from the widget, but you can specify clicking on the widget to either add a new event or see the full calendar. The pinch zoom on the calendar app itself is very nice, and I've found it superior to agenda-type views. You can try the app itself out for free, then decide if you want to pay for it to get the widget.
I don't use a bookmark widget, but live bookmarks is supposed to be pretty good and HTC like (note, it's a live folder, not a widget)

I will give those a try, thank you for your suggestions...Greatly Appreciated!
I don't know of any widgets to do this, but I suggest not buying anything. 3.1 has support for re-sizable widgets, should be pushed out in June.

Looking forward to that update for sure, wish they would also add the option of removing/renaming App shortcut names leaving just the icon on your homepage like LP.

Also how did you get Andy on the board for the lock screen?

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread on this already!
I posted this in another thread, but mine looks like this. Not terribly interesting apart from the Widget.
For anyone that is interested, I'm using ADW Launcher, the Widget is a Beautiful Widget with an opacity setting of 30% I think. I also hide the icon labels, as it makes it a lot cleaner! I set the Columns to 7 and the Rows to 6 to get as many icons on the screen as I could without it looking too crowded.
The widgets used are as follows:
Widget Type: Beautiful SuperClock 4x3 (Tablet) - I stretched it out so it fits the screen better
Super Clock Skin: honeyclock
Weather Skin: FlatWhite
What are you using for screen cap?

I'm using the Dalvik Debug Monitoring Service (ddms.bat) in the tools directory of the Android SDK install. You must also have the correct drivers installed, which if you've rooted your KF, you should already have.
Once it's detected and connected to your device, you can go to Device > Screen Capture.

I downloaded an app called ScreenshotUX, something like that. There used to be a bunch of screenshot apps in the market, what happened? Are they getting the boot from Google or something?

just went in to the file structure and replaced the image with my own. the wallpaper is from a poster who put up some alternate wallpapers to use instead of the defaults. i just pasted it 21 times in a folder and renamed them to the default names, so it never changes. in reality it's changing every time, it changes to the same pic each time. here's the pic. cant remember the link where i got it.

noticed you have the same weather widget bug, also happens to the pandora widget. something causes it to stretch like that, returns to normal after reset. you know what causes it and if there's a fix?
This is my homescreen as of now.
I really liked the wood bookshelf style of the kindle, so I decided to make wallpapers that would give that same look to other launchers (I'm using ADW).
I also attached a zipped folder with them, hope you guys enjoy.
Comments are always appreciated

Probably a stupid question but you guys that are using different launchers (which in this thread is everyone it seems lol) are you rooted or not? I'm going to side-install a few launchers and had no plans on rooting at this point BUT if it helps the alternate launchers work better I mine as well. Thanks for input and again, sorry if it's a dumb questions.
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say most of us are rooted simply because a lot of ppl seem to have several apps only found on the Android market. Of course you can sideload them without the market, but I think that instead of going through all that trouble most ppl have just rooted and installed the market (especially since it's so easy to do and also allows you to take screenshots).
Hi,
I'm running CM7 and I've got widgetlocker as my lockscreen, and I'd like to add the torch widget to the lockscreen. It doesn't really fit in though so I'd like to make it invisible; i.e you can't see the widget but if you press in the right place (where it is) it will still function as normal.
Can this be done?
Thanks

Invisible Widget

I recently discovered how to make an invisible widget that has been incredibly useful in customizing my screens. For instance, my weather app is Snowstorm because I like how the widget looks. But, I like Weatherbug for functionality, weather radar, etc. So, I've got the snowstorm widget on my screen with an invisible widget overlayed and set to front so when i click on it, it sends me to Weatherbug.
This is done my creating an icon using Simple Text. The text in the icon is just a couple of spacebar taps. It saves to your gallery. Then I used Desktop VisualizeR to create a widget that is assigned to the Weatherbug app. Assign the invisible icon you created to the widget and you are ready to go. Very useful to have a visual of one app and the functionality of another. You can even create it so you just tap on a blank portion of your screen to activate whatever app or function you want. It's fun!
Good luck. :good:
Maybe use gimp and just make it transparent

Previously I've used the ADW launcher but have found every phone I've had become unmanageably slow over time. I've never been able to identify the problem but this time I'm trying to leave as many things stock as I can bear, starting with the launcher.
The default launches seems palatable enough but I can't workout how to resize widgets to fill the width of the screen.
Two of my favorite widgets to have on the home screen are "Fancy Widgets" (a clock/weather widget) and "Agenda Widget" (a calendar widget). Both these programs have several different sized widgets available but neither have widgets that are 5 cells wide. Is there a way to stretch the widget in the default launcher like one can in ADW?
Attached is an example of what my home screen currently looks like.
Thanks,
Slarti.
P.S.
I hope I'm asking this in the correct place.
(I wasn't able to find a Q&A section for G3 themes)
Uh, I've found that after releasing the agenda widget when dragging resize grippers become available on the corners.
This works perfectly to resize Agenda Widget to a 5x2 box.
Unfortunatly this doesn't work for Fancy Widgets.
It should be added as default feature
