Hey all,
Earlier today I tried to update from stock 9.18.94.xt926 to KitKat. Unfortunately after the system shutdown and the package tried to install it failed and rebooted to advice me of so. I read online that I should attempt a factory reset before upgrading.
So, I went to settings -> security -> factory reset.
The phone shut off and entered reset mode with the Green Android and a Blue Matrix swirling on its belly.
Since then, the phone has been stuck on this same screen. Additionally, on this page, if I press the volume up/down butts on twice a yellow text appears showing...
'
ge 1/1
Formatting /data...
'
Turning the phone on and off with power + volume down results in the same screen.
The only way I can get the phone to boot is by pressing power + up, then choosing something besides factory reset on the recovery page.
However, when the phone boots its as if it is a brand new device. Additionally, if I am to power down the device, it reboots into the familiar Green Android and Blue matrix page.
Is there any way to fix this issue?
Thanks,

Folks,
Here is the situation. I have a TF700T on Jellybean with the latest update. I unlocked the bootloader with the ASUS unlock tool. I flashed CWM Recovery and I then wanted to try the Crombi Kit-kat based ROM with f2fs and Overclocked Kernel. I used CWM Recovery to flash that ROM. In the Aroma installer for that ROM I chose to partition using f2fs for external and internal storage. The flash went ok and I booted into the ROM. Here is where the trouble began. I got a message from Android saying that it couldnt decrypt my file system or partition and asked if i wanted to restore the device to stock. I hit yes without thinking too much about it and it rebooted into the Android Logo and it is stuck there !!
I can't shut the device down because it restarts immediately into the white ASUS logo, then pauses for a few seconds, screen blinks, white asus logo again and then the Android Green Robot Screen again with a progress meter underneath it.
I tried holding down the Volume down and power for 10 seconds, the tablets reboots and repeats the process.. I never have an opportunity to enter recovery or wipe. I next tried holding the Volume UP button and holding the power button down for 10 seconds. The tablet buzzed and the screen shut off. I am guessing I am in APX mode.. I tried rebooting again by holding power button down and it does restart but goes into the same cycle, Screen with white ASUS Logo, Screen Blink, White Asus Logo and then Android Green Robot Screen again.. It is stuck in the screen and I cant even shut the tablet down Any idea what is going on ?

Your case is very similar this user. Check this post to see if it helps, good luck...:fingers-crossed:

Thank you !. I let the tablet sit like that for an hour and it got out of the Android Screen and tried booting the bad ROM install at which point I had the opportunity to shut the tablet down. Once I could shut it down, I could start the tablet into recovery and then I flashed the stock rom back from my nandroid backup.. Whew!!

Thanks a lot. It works. :good::good::good:
ok here's the story... a while back, I loaded katkiss4.4.4_20140720 with easy flasher 0.8.3b stable and TWRP 2.2.1.
Here's a link to all details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/eee-pad-transformer/help/tf101-upgrade-buy-tablet-t2847617
All was ok, but my tablet was a bit unstable, wifi issue, and Twitter official app was not working.
So I decided to upgrade. Back in the original thread, I ask for a new version of TWRP/EasyFlasher... got this version:
EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE_TWRP2.3.2.3.zip
So I ran this, all good, got the new version on the tablet here a screen shot: screeenshot186 attached
On the tablet I see
- Entering NvFlash recovery mode / Nv3p server
- Chip Uid: 038061c642f33d7
- !!!!! phone update success !!!!!!
- !!!!! phone update success !!!!!!
Now! When I reboot, by pressing power a few seconds, I got back to KatKiss... then I reboot again (reboot to recovery) to get to recovery mode but always get back to the normal android screen.
So... I do I get back to recovery mode so I can update to latest katkiss version?
UPDATE: I tried this: hold Vol down and Power until you see the white text at the top of the screen, then release all buttons and quickly tap Vol up to enter recovery ... Still going back to KK, not recovery
Thanks,
Continuing from your other thread, cold booting linux means you either hit the wrong button after holding Volume Down & Power, or you didn't hit Volume Up quick enough when the white text appeared, you only get 5 seconds or so
From your screenshot, you didn't wait long enough for it to complete, it says 97% done
With Easyflasher, make sure you're selecting the correct SBK version, 1 or 2
SBK1 is B6O serials and lower, some B7Os - SBK2 is all the rest

Sorry but...
1. Yes I did press volume UP inside 5 sec and even faster <1s
2. The screen shot is at 97% because at 100% the windows closes and I cannot take a screen shot
3. The first time I did the update, I used SBK1 because I have a B60... and I also re-used SBK1 to update to TWRP2.3.2.3.
Anything else for me to check?
Can I re-load the "original" TWRP?
I am stuck here.
Thanks for the help and feedback
I re-ran this version: EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE
The output in windows and behavior if completely different. (I would need to film it)
Now I can reboot in recovery.
So I did the same thing with this version: EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE_TWRP2.3.2.3.zip
But it does not work.
Now I am back to version 2.2.1.4... which had a bug with wiping one section of memory I think ?
Any other version of EasyFlasher with TWRP that I could try ?
Resolved!
Used this TWRP:
http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...t/31927-frederuco-s-guide-root-rom-tf101.html
EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE_TWRP2.6.3.0
and updated to latest katkiss: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2592890
So this version is bad somehow: EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE_TWRP2.3.2.3
Hope this help someone :good:
I flashed Doogee's Android 4.4.2. firmware release, and It's much better than 4.2.
I do have what seems to be an odd issue. On first boot I did the initial setup -- the series of four or five screens before the home screen. There is even a brief tutorial which you can view or cancel.
About a week later I did a factory reset from the off state using the volume up + power button, and when the phone booted I went directly to the home screen -- no setup.
Any comments as to why?
Thanks.
Hi I got this very cheap tablet stuck in restart loop. I have tried the hard reset by using the power button and volume + button but I can't get to the boot menu. There is a small reset button on the back that I used a paperclip to reset, when I did the tablet starts loading up the OS and installing but when it restarts it goes back to the restart loop. I'm trying to find the firmware so I can flash it and reinstall the android OS.
This is what I have
9" Infinity Tablet
Android 5.1
A33 Quad Core Cortex-A7 CPU, 1.2G
32GB of internal storage

Greetings and welcome to xda. I have tried to locate the firmware for your device myself but have had no luck. Have you any idea what caused the bootloop ? if we know what caused it we may be able to assist you better
Regards
Sawdoctor
I think the loop is caused by a corrupted OS install file.
There is a tiny hole on the back of the tablet when I press it the tablet resets and starts to install the android OS when it gets to the part to restart thats when the loop happens.
