Okay, I just wanted to share with everyone here how the mods act. Despite my good intentions with my thread yesterday about people considering temp root over S-OFF for simple bloatware removal, I was flamed into oblivion by the revolution whores here.

I intend to return to normally scheduled programming, but thought that BENKO needed to be brought to justice. The community ought know who is "watching" them and editing their posts.

@Matt - I feel your pain man. Sometimes as mods, people get a little over zealous with their cleanup powers. Just remember, one mod doesn't necessarily express the views of the whole community.
I was entertained by your thread personally. It was a great alternative for people not wanting to go through the whole process.
Also, remember, with the nature of this forum, its bound to attract adolescents. I'd put my money on that, there the ones who derailled your thread. As for spelling, well, I have large thumbs and don't check my spelling ever. Especially when typing from mobile devices.

I'll look around for the list. On the forums I mod/ admin on, the mods names are on the designated forum so all can see. Not the case here.
Not only have them resurrect it, see if they'll delete any trolling comments as well.

To be honest it's was a pointless thread.
I just posted this over on r/Android, and I felt XDA would be a good place to put it as well. Recently, there have been a few apps that have been reported to Reddit so that we could get massive reports sent to Google and have the apps and developers removed. However, I felt this way would be a little more efficient. Please feel free to check out the comments over on that post as well as these, although I'm sure they will be roughly the same.
I'd include the link to the post on Reddit, but I haven't made enough posts on XDA to be allowed to include external links. Simply search 'Clean Up' in r/Android and click 'Sort By' > New, and it should pop up. Thanks for your time everyone, and I look forward to seeing whether this can be a success.
We are all aware that the Play Store sucks. Especially over the past couple of days. People are taking proactive steps to clean it up, but sooner or later, we are going to get sick of seeing these PSAs announcing all of the crap Devs. To counter this problem of constant posting to r/Android, I've created [email protected], as well as a Google Spreadsheet (check r/Android for links, I haven't posted enough here to include external links) to keep track of all of these apps that you guys help report for abusing the rules of the less knowledgable.
I'm sure a majority of you are more than easily capable of spotting these bad apps, but following are a few types of apps in particular that really irk me:
+Improve your WiFi!
+Fake or copy games like we've seen the last couple of days here
+All those blasted Gangnam Style photo booth and other knock-off type apps
+Emulators that are just absolutely and completely riddled with ads and are therefore unusable
+WiFi 'hackers'
+Jumping Boobs / Ass / other sex apps (c'mon guys, it's called pornhub or xvideos)
+Cell phone signal boosters
+Etc, etc... I'm sure you all know which apps to report here
So, if you guys think this is a good idea, please help everyone out by contributing the bad apps you find to [email protected] in the following format:

I think this is a useful alternative to a separate subreddit, as I think creating would simply result in the same fate as many other 'sub'subreddits do.
I think this can be a really cool way to show Google how moderating their product can improve its quality, even if just ever so slightly. Let the moderation begin.

Is there an "plain English" change log for the CM "M Snapshot" builds?
I know where to find the technical list of changes is for the Cyanogenmod nightlies but is there a more plain English list of highlighted changes for each M build? I am referring to something like we see in Play store apps. For example, I know that this new M build incorporates the built in SuperUser function but I'm not sure what other significant updates were made.
Just curious.

What is posted is plain english. If you cant understand it then maybe you should sit back and spend a few days doing some research.
I had checked the blogs and only found info about the superuser integration and pie controls. I read them regularly. I get what you're saying about CM people not making their own change logs. At least I know that much now. That confirms that I shouldn't be searching their site. Thanks.

So, I came here in my research attempts to see if anyone might already know of a site/someone that is knowledgeable in this area and takes info like that (above) and summarizes the main changes on one page. Ill be honest with you. While it was not meant to come off rude or anything but those are terms your gonna have to learn to read. Android is not a simple thing in the least nor is flashing custom roms. This is a developers site so you will see terms like this used all the time. The best thing I can say is to spend some time learning the lingo and finding out what things mean.
That is plain english on a developers forum.

Yeah android will be mainly as it is still a new OS and many changes will come, then we will have to relearn so many things all over again

Usually the stuff you care about as a user will be understandable (features, etc) if you read the nightlies change logs. The weird tweak stuff I don't understand, but you can click on the change and read comments and sometimes it makes more sense to me. But do you really need to know the reason behind each of the hundreds of changes that happen between each M?

Hey all!
I'm sure some of you are familiar with the Bing Rewards system; it's simple, search with Bing, earn rewards points, redeem rewards points for gift cards, Xbox Live Microsoft Points, among many other things. Most commonly you are able to accumulate 15 points per day (in some cases 30), with 1 point being equivalent to 2 searches. This means you must do 30 Bing searches per day to get the maximum amount of points. But who has time to sit there and tediously search for 30 different things? That's where my app comes in.
I haven't found anything similar on a mobile phone. I know there are websites that do this for you, but if you aren't near a computer and want to bang out your 30 or so searches quickly, this is the app for you.
Be gentle, this is my first crack at an app! Although it is extremely simple I believe there is much to be done and updates will continue to roll out over the coming weeks.

Only thing is I'm not sure it did it. Maybe a"done" or "finished" dialogue.
Thanks for the app because i never use Bing on my computer unless they remind me. I've been a rewards member since they started it and only just now have 200 points this will be very handy.

It does go through the process, it does kind of 'freeze' until its done, but if you wait long enough you'll see the final search load and your points will be there. Some sort of visual feedback is a great idea. I'll definitely add it next update, thanks so much!

Just updated this - very minor updates. Fixed a bug where inputting '90' searches wouldn't do anything. Every number should work now. But the application will never do more than 90 searches (as this is the max amount of searches that will yield points any given day).
I'm sure some of you have multiple accounts for Bing Rewards (I do), I'm looking to maybe implement a tabbed layout, in which each tab has its own webpage. The way I see it, instead of having to log in and out of your accounts on the one webpage, each tab will be a different account, saving you guys even more time! After all, who has more than a few minutes to spend for Bing searches anyways?

- Got rid of the text box that prompted the user to enter the amount of searches they wanted done. Instead, there are now buttons with pre-defined amounts of searches for each.
- Made it much easier to shuffle accounts by way of adding the 'Windows' and 'Facebook' buttons.
- Added an Info & Instructions tab to give the user more information about the application, and how to get the most out of it.

Hello again everybody. I've got a sweet new update for all users! Who has time for ANRs and Crashes? Well, I certainly don't, and I'm sure you don't either. ANRs in my application are a thing of the past with my v1.1.1 update that I like to call "Anti-Freeze".

The freezing of the application is now gone - you'll be able to see searches happen in real time.
Also, it was brought to my attention that the search terms that were used were not working for some users, maybe because Bing caught on to using the same terms everyday? Regardless, no two searches will be alike - a random word generator has been implemented.
This should be nearly perfect now. No stupid BS that'll waste your time, just open the app, log in, click the button, and watch your Rewards Points flow in .
Please don't forget to rate and/or give feedback on the Play Store listing. If you have any questions, you can also post them in this thread, as I check this bi-daily (Is that even a word? Whatever. Twice a day).

I wouldn't call scheduling "too much" at all.. you may see that in maybe a 'Pro' version of the application sometime in the future aka once school is over. But a friendly reminder in the status bar shouldn't be too hard to implement for this current version of the application. That'll be included in the next update for sure, Lee. Thanks for the idea

It's just me again..
Writing this to let you all know that there is now a 'Pro' version of the application available! As of me writing this the link probably isn't quite up and running yet, but it will be found at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crockettc.bingrewardsautomatorpro in the next few hours.
So what does this Pro version do? Well, for starters its twice as fast at searching, meaning you get done faster, saving you more time. I'm going to re-do the look and feel of the application to make it look better, not just boring old white & stock Android, cause even as the developer of this application, I must admit it is boring to look at.
If you've been following this post, you can also surmise that a auto-start feature will be implemented in the Pro version as well sometime in the future.
Now just because a Pro version is out, doesn't mean I'm abandoning the 'base' version! If bugs are found, or the need arises for a change, it will be updated just as quickly as the Pro version would be. I'd never leave you guys, the downloaders of my first ever published application, behind!

Hello to everyone!
I think that would be a great idea to prepare my 86 years old grandmother's tablet in order to be able to be used for a totally blind person (bearing in mind that this person is a senior and doesn't have too much experience with this type of devices).
A little bit of history:
We bought a tablet for my grandmother before she went blind, she used to play games and when she started to lose her sight the only thing she could do was to play audiobooks until she went totally blind.
So, now I think is the moment to reintroduce the tablet in her actual lifestyle but I haven't found any Launcher or Audiobook player that could be easy to use for an blind person. For that reason, I'm making this post here.
Also, If someone knows for a "Talkback Guide For Dummies" it would be really helpful.
