Most indeed are just an alternative interface to the normal market. The others are mostly manufacturer or operator specific versions.

Wow... I don't see any problem with posting this, but for real... why the heck do you type like that? I'd rather not read another post of yours formatted in such a way. It's not clever, and it doesn't make you look smart.
I do have to say one thing though. Anyone can make a list of programs, to provide people with something useful however.. that is another task. You give no information about these programs, you give no reference to the authors of these programs, you give no information about where to legitimately acquire these programs.. I would also doubt that all of these vendors want you distributing their software without permissions, even if they are available for free.
If you want people to view your posting as helpful, you may want to reconsider your approach. Format your text in a helpful and organized method (it's not a headline, or a title to a book). Include helpful and concise information about the applications. Provide links (at the very least) to the webpages associated with the applications. etc.

Hold on.....all sarcasm aside, im really curious.
you posted a lot of things here, and the way your OP makes it sound is that these apps (or "Market Alternatives" as you call them), offer apps that you cannot get on the android market. Is this correct? Or are these, in fact, just another place to get the same apps that are on the Android Market??
Let's ask this different; Have you tried some of the alternative markets? And did you stick to anyone of them?
I totally agree there are a lot of things that could be improved in the stock market, but I'm not going to try all the versions you've posted Can we cross some of the list?

If you guys like the site, please hit the Google Plus one button the top left corner of the site so I know
Tablified.com - [tab * li * fied] -verb. 1. apps that have been specifically made for Android tablets.
Well, after days of working on the site, its finally here. It's not perfect, but I think android tablet owner are going to enjoy this.
One of the biggest flaws with the Android Market is that there really isn't a dedicated section for tablet apps. Phone apps get thrown in the pile with tablet apps and its just impossible to find tablet SPECIFIC apps.
Many developers say their apps are "optimized" for tablets which, at first sounds great. But sadly, most of the time the app is just adjusted to fit better on a larger screen without adding any new features or tablet specific UI elements.
This is where Tablified.com comes in. Each app is tested to insure that it really is a tablet specific app. While I want to give credit to XDA and the Xoomforums for providing me with a list of apps, I found out that many of those apps aren't really tablet specific. There are currently over 50 apps on the site and more added every day. If you have an app, please use the "Submit an app" link on the site and let me know what the app is; if it meets the requirement, I'll add it to the list.
Tablified.com does NOT allow you to purchase the app. I simply links back to the Android market for you to complete the transaction. What I do is list up as many apps as I can find, after testing each one of course. I am very critical about which apps go up because I want users to only see tablet SPECIFIC apps-that's why games are currently not available. Until I see the same version of "Burn the rope" that's available on the iPad for Android tablets, you won't find it on my list-this goes for many other games.
We have a couple of people working on the site and are recruiting people to help. If you know how to use wordpress and would like to join the team, then please PM me. I apologize if there are any errors on the site. I did my best. If there are any errors, please leave a comment on the app and I will fix it ASAP.
We have big plans coming soon. Can't same much now, but I think its something to look forward to. Sorry for making this so long, but I hope everyone enjoys the site. Ads are there to help pay for the hosting-sorry, no ad-free version

Maybe I'm missing it, but a top downloaded section would be nice, maybe a top downloaded for the week, most popular list, etc. Or exporting the ratings from the market and displaying that.

thanks for your feedback. the only way that i can do a "top downloaded section" would be if people start voting on the site. this is accomplished by simply rating it using the stars icons . if you guys dont rate then i cant display the top rated app/game etc. I had a section for that kinda stuff but because the vote count was low and it didnt look pretty so it didnt seem worthwhile to keep it. so once you guys start voting then i can make a place for it. this is only the first month of the site being released so maybe next month ill put it in. in the mean time, you can scoll to the bottom on the homepage to see the most viewed app.
as for the rating, i dont think theres a way to do that. but each app has a widget at the bottom of the page that has the market link as well as the rating it received on the Android Market. if you guys like the app, simply rate it by pressing the stars just like you would on the official market.
please keep the suggestions coming.

Although Lotus looks ok on tablets, its not a tablet specific nor tablet optimized app. You can find more detail about the requirements on the FAQ section.

Can't find any decent gallery app, anyone seen any with super fancy effects similar to the honeycomb Youtube app?
Its not tablets its Honeycomb
I was excited when I saw a posting about this thread until I actually went to the site. It really isn't a site listing apps designed for the larger, landscape real estate of a tablet but actually a site listing apps that are fully integrated for Android 3.0+ (Honeycomb) instead. There are plenty of tablets that run Android 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 like the one I'm typing on right now. I would appreciate apps that are designed for a tablet as much as the nearest Xoom user.
Quite the disappointment :-(
I used to get a least one rating per day in Google Play Store but I haven't gotten a single rating in 5 days. Is it because Google linked ratings to G+ account? Anyone else notice the same thing?
Yeah, I think that's the case.
Personally I stopped rating after that change because I don't feel like joining G+, haven't done it since it launched, so I think it's a bit of a **** move by google to force people to join it like this :/

Post here when you're done, and I'll send you an code to unlock the trial version so it never expires.
Yup, this is a ploy by google to try and drag people in. They think that if they get you to sign up for g+ so you can rate apps, that eventually you'll start using g+ for other things. And the more you use their services, the more they learn about you and the more chances they get to show you ads. In case anybody forgot, google is an advertising company whose sole purpose is to make money.
Oh well , i don't care much :d my profile is empty anyway and im not an international fugitive to hide my name
Also interesting app, will be back with thoughts on it and an appropriate rating and comment don't worie im not a 1 star guy if i see something that i don't like :d
Its only because Google is now forcing people to join G+ in order to rate apps and games otherwise people would be more than happy to rate it as they download. I don't see the point of G+ anyway, its nothing that special in the first place.
hmm i actually like it a lot 5+

It's a shame you're not getting the reviews you should. Google really ought to encourage reviewers, rather than making them jump through hoops to post reviews. The market is already pretty well stacked against the little guy, and discouraging reviewers will only make that worse. Hopefully as users grudgingly accept the G+ nonsense, you'll see more reviews coming in.
Ranting aside, your keyboard is great (and yes, I reviewed it as such--I'm not going to fuss about Google wrecking things and then leave you high and dry ). I had been wishing for an off-center space bar that I could actually hit when typing with both thumbs, and pairing it with autocorrect that doesn't make me furious makes for an awesome keyboard.

Its The G+ thing.
I think Google is doing something great.
In the past four years there has been a growing trend of being rude on comments and reviews.
These "haters" have become such a problem because almost every youtube videos has someone talking crap and its starting to spread to play.
The comment section on youtube is so disgusting and people are getting so bad that they just click videos to start negativity.( for example: click a lil wayne new video and trolling saying he sucks **** and so on).
But Google needs to capitalize while making money. How?
Use G+ accounts that show full names and pictures. Youtube is still an option right now to use it but Google is giving you the option for now before they give you no option. And now youtube cleans up and G+ gets more subscribers. Now play is not bad but because these people are out there they can stop before it grows.
Alot of 1 star ratings hurts devs because people shout "virus" or "this is stupid, dont waste your time, doesnt work" when they can't read the clear instructions and want computers to do everything for them. Little 11 year old johnny will think twice before saying an app "suck *********" when his picture will be next to his words and his parents use play for apps.
WIN...WIN situation.
I decided to check out the keyboard, and I love it btw 5 ★. On topic, it's all about G+. Google gets more users, in hopes that some will actually start using G+. And as already said, they'll clean Play up comment wise because it's getting like YouTube already is.

In the last couple of days I've been getting review again (some were from this thread, thank you!). I don't know if it was a technical glitch during the changeover, or because people are getting used to the new format. People can still rate anonymously if they don't leave a comment.
To be honest, I also think the G+ thing is a good idea... in principle. I was just a little freaked when the reviews dried up. I will use it to thank users that like my app, and reach out to those that don't.

Hey all!
I'm sure some of you are familiar with the Bing Rewards system; it's simple, search with Bing, earn rewards points, redeem rewards points for gift cards, Xbox Live Microsoft Points, among many other things. Most commonly you are able to accumulate 15 points per day (in some cases 30), with 1 point being equivalent to 2 searches. This means you must do 30 Bing searches per day to get the maximum amount of points. But who has time to sit there and tediously search for 30 different things? That's where my app comes in.
I haven't found anything similar on a mobile phone. I know there are websites that do this for you, but if you aren't near a computer and want to bang out your 30 or so searches quickly, this is the app for you.
Be gentle, this is my first crack at an app! Although it is extremely simple I believe there is much to be done and updates will continue to roll out over the coming weeks.
Thanks guys! Any constructive criticism is appreciated :cyclops:
You can find the link to the Play Store here.
Link to the PRO version is here
Edit on 4/19 -> If the link above doesn't work, give it a little bit of time. The application is still in the process of being published.
Only thing is I'm not sure it did it. Maybe a"done" or "finished" dialogue.
Thanks for the app because i never use Bing on my computer unless they remind me. I've been a rewards member since they started it and only just now have 200 points this will be very handy.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
It does go through the process, it does kind of 'freeze' until its done, but if you wait long enough you'll see the final search load and your points will be there. Some sort of visual feedback is a great idea. I'll definitely add it next update, thanks so much!
Is there an option to automatically run at a certain time of day so I don't have to remember every day?

Just updated this - very minor updates. Fixed a bug where inputting '90' searches wouldn't do anything. Every number should work now. But the application will never do more than 90 searches (as this is the max amount of searches that will yield points any given day).
I'm sure some of you have multiple accounts for Bing Rewards (I do), I'm looking to maybe implement a tabbed layout, in which each tab has its own webpage. The way I see it, instead of having to log in and out of your accounts on the one webpage, each tab will be a different account, saving you guys even more time! After all, who has more than a few minutes to spend for Bing searches anyways?
Another new update!
v1.1 Big update!
- Got rid of the text box that prompted the user to enter the amount of searches they wanted done. Instead, there are now buttons with pre-defined amounts of searches for each.
- Made it much easier to shuffle accounts by way of adding the 'Windows' and 'Facebook' buttons.
- Added an Info & Instructions tab to give the user more information about the application, and how to get the most out of it.
PLEASE check the Info & Instructions tab to understand the new update!!
I believe this update makes it much more user friendly, hopefully you all enjoy it. If you like it, don't be afraid to give me a good rating
Hello again everybody. I've got a sweet new update for all users! Who has time for ANRs and Crashes? Well, I certainly don't, and I'm sure you don't either. ANRs in my application are a thing of the past with my v1.1.1 update that I like to call "Anti-Freeze".
v1.1.1 "Anti-Freeze"
The freezing of the application is now gone - you'll be able to see searches happen in real time.
Also, it was brought to my attention that the search terms that were used were not working for some users, maybe because Bing caught on to using the same terms everyday? Regardless, no two searches will be alike - a random word generator has been implemented.
This should be nearly perfect now. No stupid BS that'll waste your time, just open the app, log in, click the button, and watch your Rewards Points flow in .
Please don't forget to rate and/or give feedback on the Play Store listing. If you have any questions, you can also post them in this thread, as I check this bi-daily (Is that even a word? Whatever. Twice a day).

I wouldn't call scheduling "too much" at all.. you may see that in maybe a 'Pro' version of the application sometime in the future aka once school is over. wow! You rock. I had literally submitted a comment on the play store about the search terms and anr being worse. And while I'm sure I'm not the only one who's mentioned it. You not only replied quickly, but you also fixed the issue just as fast. I commend you for that. There needs to be more devs like you. Best of luck, and once again keep up the good work!
*cheers*

Thank you! If you find anything else that needs fixing or could be improved please don't hesitate to tell me. I love feedback even if it isn't praise.

GO PRO!
It's just me again..
Writing this to let you all know that there is now a 'Pro' version of the application available! As of me writing this the link probably isn't quite up and running yet, but it will be found at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crockettc.bingrewardsautomatorpro in the next few hours.
So what does this Pro version do? Well, for starters its twice as fast at searching, meaning you get done faster, saving you more time. I'm going to re-do the look and feel of the application to make it look better, not just boring old white & stock Android, cause even as the developer of this application, I must admit it is boring to look at.
If you've been following this post, you can also surmise that a auto-start feature will be implemented in the Pro version as well sometime in the future.
Now just because a Pro version is out, doesn't mean I'm abandoning the 'base' version! If bugs are found, or the need arises for a change, it will be updated just as quickly as the Pro version would be. I'd never leave you guys, the downloaders of my first ever published application, behind!
Enjoy your night guys!
Just a quick update to those of you following this thread, the auto start feature should be in an update by the middle of next week! The full auto start will be pro version only, with a reminder notification going in the base version.

Sir, thank you for this awesome app! Just bought the pro to support it. Can't wait for the automatic search update!

Just noticed that Flipboard uses the Air View option, in the home screen you can hover all over the topics and it gives you a preview of the articles, for me it's very cool, nice to see Samsung's features available on Third Parties apps.
And what you just had to make a stupid thread about it.....

I have always asked myself why on this great and other main forums, arrogant people that think themselves so above the rest, come to every thread to post a reply even more stupid than the one they critic.
This is first of all an informative forum, people come here to learn about their devices, so far I haven't seen anyone posting about it, so I came here to inform all of you about it, if you don't like it, just keep on moving, others may appreciate knowing about it.
That's all I have to say about your insult...
Unbelievable...
Good post, erasat.
The guy above just an idiot...I meant.. he was creating a thread on dropping the phone on concrete and was wondering about it.
Now that IS stupid!

All that dude does is go around posting pointless insults. And not in the "search first, noob" kind of way, but rather in the "I don't get enough attention and have to take out my lack of self esteem on internet forums" kind of way.
Best way to deal with people (and I use the term loosely) like that is to completely ignore them. Nothing pisses of someone trying to seem important or insulting than completely disregarding what they're saying. You can't reason with ignorance. But you can piss it off by ignoring it.

Lol, some people... good response OP.

Actually some of these "gimmicky" features, as some people refer to them, need highlighted. So, thanks OP--:0
And yes a few here take every opportunity to bash someone, they are on every Forum I have been on from day one. Just best not to respond. Playing Devil's advocate though, I do sometimes respond to those who want the step by step answer with no research on their own. Main reason I don't like that is that they are doing themselves a disservice by not learning the how and why things are done the way they are in flashing roms. It will come back to haunt them.
I actually use a number of these features and they work very well. Except :eye" scrolling. Hopefully that will be improved and hope app devs and Goolge allow more programs to use these features.
There are too many negative comments on these features here and in reviews along with the screen issue to cause people to hesitate buying this phone. So, these goodies need highlighted in these threads from time to time. It is absolutely a fantastic phone. Functional and Fun at the same time--
Best I have ever owned. Not that I didn't love my Nexus One and HTC One S, but technology just keeps producing better products. And 5 inch is perfect screen size for me.
I agree, good post. I have been trying to figure out how to use air view but it just won't work for me (tried it on the gallery). What other apps work with it?

I personally found this thread useful. I didn't know that airview worked with flipboard. Pretty cool!

It will work on Flip Board and Stock Calendar. Do you have it selected in Options?
Can't recall what others atm
EDIT: Oh, works on speed dial--hover over number and contact comes up. don't have to memorize my speed dials now--
Also, by accident had it work on Music Player. If you hover over the lower Next and Previous symbols it will tell you next/previous song. These are when Music player is full screen with Album Art.
