i did a speedtest and it runs good.

That radio appears in the desire hd radio thread, dated Oct 2010, i believe, unless in my quick reading I misread the number.
Did your friend buy the phone nib from an ATT store?

I have the same radio, picked up this phone about 2 weeks ago.
Rooted with hack kit and running cm7.
Tried other roms but on a few I noticed poor call quality, cm7 works pretty good for me.

Did you have this radio prior to rooting? This the radio that is used during the downgrade process.
Its interesting how a nib phone would come with that radio

It is weird to be seeing such an old radio on NIB Inspires. As Scott_S said, that radio came out with the Desire HD back in October. I thought that Inspires were only shipping with 06.04.06 or 06.06.30...I wonder why people are starting to see that old 03.02.26 radio on new Inspires?

To be completely honest, I do not recall what it was before rooting, but I'm sure it was the same.
I haven't tried flashing radios due to my lack of research and not having a computer available when ever I would need it.
What are pro's and cons?

Well their is no definitive answers on radios as it varies on so many things. What's good for one person may not be for another. Personally I have. Gotten better speeds with the Ota's radio maybe becauase its made for our phones but thats just speculation on my part. I've haven't seen many people stay on your radio soon after rooting. I have seen a few people complain about it, then when they moved up to stock radio or Ota's, their varies issues were gone

Your sentence is a contradiction; if you don't recall what it was before rooting, how can you be sure it is the same now? Just messing with you but you are contradicting yourself a little bit there.
The rooting process MUST change the radio. All the current root exploits use a flaw in that radio to do their dirty work. That's the reason for the downgrade (and to a lesser extent, the kernel just because the exploits were compiled for its modules).

All right, let's expand on your answer... New in box from an ATT or other retail store selling new inspires, where your friend watched the CSR open the seal on the box, and put the SIM in?
Something doesn't seem right.
Nevertheless, it's not a "new" radio, so experimenting with it would be the same as any other radio "compatible" with this phone... YMMV.
There are *newer* radios out, so....

i rooted this phone for him. I checked the software number and noted it down before hacking.
if its old radio, i dont know why ATT switch to this one.
anyway, its performance is better than ATT's old stock radio.

That's fine, and just for the record I'm not being skeptical just for the fun of it, I'm just trying to figure out the circumstances.
Now, you may have rooted the phone for him, and you may have noted the baseband/firmware versions before doing so, but that doesn't really answer the most important part of the question....
Exactly how your friend came into possession of this phone.
Until you say with certitude that "yes, it was purchased brand new from a retail store and my friend was the first person to ever touch the phone and he never attempted any modifications to the phone himself," then I still have a hard time determining the rationale of putting a Oct 2010 radio on a brand new from the factory inspire.
I bought mine March 3rd. Brand new, ATT retail store. Watched dude crack the factory seal, and take 400 off-contract dollars from me.
My radio was the stock radio commonly referred to as the "shipping stock" radio.
Why would an older radio than the one on my (at the time) brand new phone be put on one more recently manufactured?
It just doesn't make sense.
Anyway, as long as you're getting a level of performance that's acceptable, then I guess that's all that counts.
F u Henry!
I forgot to tell you guys, that when I got my phone, I jade a HTC wifi update then rooted my phone.

Exactly! My girlfriend and I have the same phones (Inspire 4gs). We used to have the same ROM, Radio, RIL, APN, and build.prop. For some reasons, she always get ~4M/2M, I only get 3M/1.5M on the same day, same position in the house.

Does anyone know when can we expect AT&T OTA update for HTC ONE X? I am very tempted to update to 1.85 but it will make me reinstall all the apps (including some corporate ones - for which it would be pain to get the corporate IT to cooperate), but I am holding off hoping that official OTA must not be that far out?
I am a very recent new customer to AT&T so I don't really know what is AT&T's track record regarding OTA? Do they do regularly all the time? Or, is it more like, once if you are lucky?
Thanks,
Osho
OTA AT&T
As a long time AT&T customer, Cingular before that (AT&T by another name) & Bell South Mobility (A division of AT&T). I can tell you that the wheels of a OTA firmware update grind extraordinarily slow. It will happen but there's no telling when.
If we knew, it would be plastered all over the tech blogs (Engadget, Android Central...).
yeh att drags their feet on this stuff..
If AT&T pushes an OTA update, will it detect if your bootloader is unlocked? Should you relock it before downloading the update?
1.85.502 ruu
Just as an aside, I've been running the leaked 1.85.502 ROM that is available and that the OP mentioned. I have had zero issues with it. The WiFi seems to be fixed, battery life seems to be improved and the system seems more responsive overall. As always when it comes to a leaked ROM... YMMV & FAYOR!!!
Just picked up a new HTC OneX from At&t with 1.85 preinstalled.

Does AT&T sell phones with different firmwares than what is the latest OTA update for the same phones that may have been sold earlier? This sounds soooo wrong at so many levels. Why 'punish' your first customers?

I guess it's possible that the batch of phones that were delayed in customs could have the new ROM on it... but... It makes me feel better (if this is actually the case) that the 1.85.502 ROM will be the next OTA update. There is a difference between the OTA ROM release and the RUU ROM, the latter clean installing the phone and the OTA not. Personally, I prefer a clean install / wipe over an incremental / update install. Less issues in the long run.

Nobody that has bought the phone after the customs hold up has had anything but 1.85 on their phone. I think it's legit, and part of the reason there was a delay.

I tend to agree. Don't know if it was every definitely proven. But it seemed to me that on the HTC Flyer tablet people who updated to Honeycomb (from Gingerbread) using the OTA had pretty severe performance issues, while those that updated through "unofficial means" (RUU, custom ROMs) had great performance (including myself).

Any way to improve the radio on my new sgs3? I just got it on Friday. And today was my firest day back to work. The signal is horrible at my work and of course there is no WiFi. I have one maybe 2 bars at most and it keeps jumping from 4g to 3g. Any suggestions as to how to improve the radio signal? I really like the phone and don't want to return it.

Try flashing one of the newer modems for the Verizon S3 found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788313
Everyone has different signal with each modem so try them out on at a time and see which one gives you the best reception. Also the modem is separate from the rom so you do not need to be on a specific rom for them to work.

Long time no see. Has it been on the Fascinate over at AC? I have a similar issue with my signal at work. Like the first response said, just flash the different modems (radios), use each for a few days, and figure out which one works best for your phone under most conditions. Different phones are going to experience different results with the different radios. There is nothing I can do about my signal at work, so I just bring a charging cord with me to work.

Hi there landshark! Yes it was on the fascinate forums. I had a few more phones between. But super happy with my sgs3. Seems much easier to root and unlock than my HTC rezound. Just waiting a few more days before I dive in.

You won't be disappointed once you dive in. Phone is so fast and smooth. And the amount of development on it is a nice surprise. Jellybean works great on this phone.

I bypassed the one before the latest K1 release, I came from the HD modem with no issues.
Hope this helps!

So I am bout to get back with Sprint, and the only phone I want is the PQ LTE... because of the keyboard. I've had a Mogul, q9c, and TP2.. and never really wanted this damn EVO 4G [but it was cheap].
The only thing that's making me hesitant is MOTOROLA! The locked down bootloader, closed and poor support.
Do you think the PQ LTE will even get a JB update anymore? After months of use, would you recommend the device?

Wait a week or two, see what all is unveiled at MWC.
Personally I want to ditch mine for the new HTC One.
That being said, it's still a great phone. Jellybean may or may not come, I don't really care any more at this point. We literally just got GSM CM10.1 (for the people who did the SIM card mod), with a CDMA/LTE version being worked on by two other guys.

Pretty much. Unfortunately physical keyboard phones seem to be a dying breed... HTC even officially stated they are no longer making them.
Yeah, they are definitely dying out. I've used only keyboard phones on Android, and i even used the old T-Mo Sidekicks made by Sharp... i don't know how others feel, but the Photon Q keyboard is the probably the easiest to type on for me, especially among the Android qwerty's! The one thing i can imagine desiring is for the rows to be staggered more, but even so, i can type really easily on this.
Should I buy a used Photon Q on eBay? I see one with a clean ESN for $175
I've been using a lot qwerty keyboard android phones. And I can tell you that this Photon Q is the easiest to type fast.

Yeah..I'm getting used to it now. Only the "space" doesn't press sometimes.
I have a question, the screen doesn't work. It appears like it doesn't. I looked at the display and it's not damaged at all. I recently downgraded my Samsung from 4.1.2. to 4.0.4. I request Vincom to answer as I have fallen into deeply desperation because my s2 is not working. It's only a week old and I've downgraded it to 4.0.4. because the old owner told me it used to work better with that version. I think he "trolled me" (like you people say this days...). Any way to make it respond again? Forgive me if it's hard to understand what I am trying to say. As you can see, I am from Germany (a part used to be known as Barmen, Kingdom of Prussia.)
I think you got trolled too. The firmware isn't going to make a difference if the screen works or not. I'd Odin the ucmc1, 4.1.2. If it doesn't work you have a hardware issue.
