Camera stops focusing - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

My camera works GREAT but sometimes when I exit camera and go back it just stays on red focus square and doesn't focus. I have to restart phone to get focusing back. I am stock rooted. Thanks

Camera flash bug?

I bought my g2x about a month ago on Craigslist and I thought everything worked fine, but I noticed that when I'm in the camera app that my flash doesn't come on at all unless its set to auto or if I'm in the camcorder. Is this bug?

Does your light turn on when it is switched off?
Sent from my Calculator with Android.
While in the regular camera no, only if I set to auto and take a picture it flashes, but if I try to set it to just stay on it doesn't come on at all only in the video recorder mode. And I noticed while its on in video mode if I switch the flash off it turns off and flashes for a second and stays off.

Because it works like that. The flash will only light up (when on) upon capturing.
It is already a flashlight when it stays on and not camera flash anymore.

But my problem is when its in the mode to take a picture why would you have the option of auto, on, and off ? So auto works and off works but to just have the flash stay on without taking a picutre doesn't work with my previous phones it would just stay one but anyway I guess it not to much of a problem. As long as it works.

If you want to make the led flash stay on, get a flash light or torch app.

Icecoldsandwich green line in picture

I downloaded ics camera plus from the market. Took a few pictures and now the stock camera does not have the green line anymore. Let me know if this works for you.

Are you talking about "Camera ICS+" by moblynx? I downloaded the free version "Camera ICS" but all I got was a black screen when I opened up the app.

Yes, Just take a picture with it and the screen will come on.
I flashed I2IEAILiiTY's ICS ROM last night and just took a picture and I see no green bar. Thanks for your suggestion anyway!
I'm running creamed glacier by Zips rom and every time i open the camera app it runs for a few seconds and then it stops and says "unfortunate, camera has stop working" i wiped and reflashed the rom but no luck. you guys know how to fix this?
Yes it works hut you have to get the paid one. It also works with stock camera without having to get that app. Just take a bunch of pictures with it and it'll eventually go away and stay away. Just tested on two different phones.

Have you tried switching to FFC and back to the rear camera?

Camera flash problem Help

I have spent 3 days with my S3 love it. This morning i opened the camera app a snap a quick picture of something that caught my attention on the way to work. I go into the camera settings to turn on the flash since it was still dark out and the flash wont turn on when i take a picture in a very low light enviorment. Am i missing something or did i discover a new issue? Any ideas?

[Q] Camera only works on Tweaked

My camera only works on Tweaked. Any other rom including stock gives a camera failed warning when taking pictures. Taking video sol works, only picture taking fails. Any ideas?

No real good ideas. My wife's droid charge does the same. I put Tweaked on her phone a couple weeks ago and the problem went away for awhile then came back. After many restarts, it sounds like the camera hardware is malfunctioning. Especially when auto focus and flash are on.

[Q] Buzz sound in camera app / recording video

I have a samsung infuse on official 2.3.6 GB. I have a problem with its camera app.
Whenever i open the camera app, there is a continuous buzz sound from the lens (not the speaker of phone) and as soon as i tap the screen (to focus) it goes away or if i shake the phone it goes away. If i change to video recording mode, the sound starts again and since the tap on screen does not work here, i have to shake the phone a bit to make the sound go away.
Is there any way to fix this ? The sound goes away when i close the camera app
Also i believe the pics are coming a bit blurry and in video, we have some lines (artifacts) going bottom to top as it is like when we point any camera to any old CRT TV we see continuous lines going due to screen refresh. Not sure i am explaining properly.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.
Are you running with the CPU over-clocked? There was at least one other report of this issue possibly related to that.
Try dropping your max to 1200mhz to see if that helps.
Otherwise, go back to a pure stock setup.. Including kernel.. to rule out custom firmware entirely.

I have never rooted this device and never put any custom ROM in it. Always used Kies to update to GB from Froyo.
Are you suggesting me to go back to Froyo (using Odin or Hiemdell) and see if it eliminates the issue ?
I know it is a hardware related noise and mostly from lens of camera.

You could try froyo just to rule out gb, but my guess is hardware. A Google search turns up some hits on the sgs2 as well as the infuse. Forcing the camera to focus can provide temporary relief. Some have tried toggling the flash.
Replacing the part may be the best option.

Is the camera it makes sound when u turn it on reason it aligns the focus and moves the lens to get the focus and that is when is makes sounds.
