Just wondering if you use one or not on the GS3. My first GS3 didn't have one on it, and it magically gained 3 large scratches in the screen (always was left in a pocket alone, nothing else). I had one on my 2nd GS3, but I am now on my 3rd (2nd one had dead pixels) and wondering if I should just rough it out without one, or get one again.
Also if you got one, where from, and how do you like it?
Thanks
I got one from my bro so i dont know what brand it is. But i can tell you it came in a pack of like 3 and it sucks. Rainbow affect ruins the screens potential. Look like its kinda snowy and the feel isnt nice

I'm using the SGP Ultra-Nano, and its awesome, comes with 3 in the package, I've used 1 so far, it does have light scratches on it now though, cost about $12 on amazon.
None here. A month in so far without issue *knock on wood*

i had one on for a bit, took it off though.
This is the best one by far although the SGP is very good also:

After looking at this, I think I will buy some. Thanks for the recommendation!
Screen protectors are more trouble than their worth in almost all cases. If you manage to get it on without putting absolutely hideous bubbles on the screen, then you'll be left with something that just makes the screen "rainbowy" and terrible looking. Second skin doesn't do this but then it makes the screen rubbery and grippy feeling, not smooth like it should be. Protectors also seem to enhance fingerprints making them highly visible. Scratches? I wouldn't worry too much about that with gorilla glass 2 - http://youtu.be/wT8xI4PEU8c

Well this guy's doing some ridiculous stuff and no problems. Just sayin. Minor scratches are to be expected from anything. Screen protectors to me are annoying and take away from the experience of the device.

I've used the SGP Ultra Nanos and don't like them. Within a month quite a lot had peeled away from the phone. I think this is going to be an issue with all thin film protectors that the industry seems to prefer with this model (slightly curved display surface).
I purchased an XGear Spectre and really like it. It's a tempered glass surface. Very easy to mount and hasn't peeled or scratched despite subjecting it to the same rigors as my previous SGP Ultra Nano. Nor do I expect it to peel in the future because it's pretty think (0.4 mm) and rigid. Apparently it's think enough that it doesn't fit all cases (I don't use a case). The field of view is essentially unaffected and the glass has excellent optics. At $35 with shipping, it's definitely more of than investment than thin film protectors, but I consider it a good value given the advantages.
I got the ones from samsung at the verizion store when i got my phone (the first day they had them or second)
The dude put on the first one for me and still looks great barley tell its there and its custom fit to phone
Price tag is 14 bucks but he gave it to me and it did go on very nicely no bubbles or discoloring
I don't use one, I'm just careful not to put anything in the same pocket that could scratch it
Same I use the one from the Verizon store 12 bucks, it didn't effect the viewing, it's a dry install and almost no bubbles when done, and you get 3.

I put on 20 of the verizon ones everyday. Done correctly there are no bubbles, no lint and hold up well. Seeing all the hideous home jobs applications, the glossy texture of zags and the anti glare versions I can see why they get a bad rap.
I wouldn't go without one.

yeah, i've got a plain clear verizon one on mine.....actually it was the Cellet Screen Guard..just took it from my store. i put a million on a day, too, so i'm really good at it. i never ever get bubbles or dust. just gotta know how to do it!
also, you guys getting the grainy and rainbow effects, it's because you're using anti-glare protectors. they suck. the clear ones are better.

the t-mobile ones are junk... most people will tell you you dont need one... as the screen is nearly indestructable.... my vibrant had micro scratches and a small chip from 6 months of daily use. so I recommend using one. that said a good one is the realook is pretty decent...
http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-Samsung-Vibrant-Premium-Protector/dp/B003WL4W6M
as you can see its for the vibrant... so no opening for the FFC... i dont think it should be a problem but if it is im sure a well placed hole punch would solve that problem.
Thanks mavictb... And yea this ones I got junk... Now the following question is going to make me look like idiot but this phone have "Gorilla Glass"?

What's the best screen protector for reading ebooks for many hours on a Super AMOLED/Gorilla Glass screen?
I am thinking of going without the screen protector but would rather not. (I don't have the phone yet.)
I have an anti glare on my Nokia LCD phone and it really plays wonky with my eyes (swimming waves and such.)
Should I go with some kind of matte protector or something else? What about for my LCD screen on my current G2? Any difference?
Thanks mavictb also that is a plus that its similar to "Gorilla Glass".
And ill definitely get those screens on my SGS4G.
Anyways will on the topic anyone heard of that new "Mmetallic Glass" some scientists in California made?
It's not that it is the equivalent to Gorilla Glass, it is Gorilla Glass. The following phones have Gorilla Glass: every Samsung Galaxy S series phone, iPhone 4, & the Motorola Defy.

So this weekend i got rid of the crappy screen protector i got at T-Mo when the phone came out and got the Zagg and well yes the colors on the screen look as good as it didnt have a protector on it unlike the T-Mo ones that made the colors of the screen dull. This issue i have with the Zagg is the air bubbles and that for 20$ i only got one F-ing protector... I will keep on looking for other screen protectors or if not i think ill go bearback ( LOL! ) and let the Gorilla Glass do its thing and see how it goes.
I'm surprised you have air bubbles. Any tiny ones usually disappear in a day or two. Did you have it wet going on? By the end of the day I put mine on it was totally settled in on the screen.
As for the price, you'll find it outlasts the "three-fer" ones by at least three times.
I'm sorry you're not thrilled. I believe they have a very generous refund policy.

The best thing to do with the zagg is get it installed in your local mall usually they have kiosks that do it for you. They do it perfectly, so it's probably your best bet.

I have found Ghost Armor to be the best. Available installed at most malls.
who uses a screen protector and what is the best one?
Ive had this one on my phone since early December and no complaints or problems. Highly recommend it. http://cgi.ebay.com/3x-LCD-Screen-P...Accessories&hash=item27bcad8c90#ht_500wt_1139
I usually go to RadioShack. They have cut to fit ones, but don't use the "Wright Right" ones, as they suck, MAJORLY. They scratch way too easily, and have removable film on only one side. I prefer the kind that has removables on both sides. Basically, I peel off the back, then apply, and there is another film sheet on the top that I can keep on while I use a credit card to pour on the pressure to apply, then remove that upper layer film and have a pristine, beautifully applied screen protector. Oh yeah...
You don't really have to have one.. this screen is unscratchable. I never have used one and there is not a single mark. I personally like to take a pair of scissors to it as hard as I can to show off to friends. But do as you please. Lol

Unscratchable my a$$. I had to take my screen protector off for 3 days and it definitely got scratched.
If you keep it in a pocket, sand (quartz) can scratch it.
i had one for my moment and the problem i had with that was that when i would drag my fingers across the screen it would slide smoothly, it was jumpy that was a zagg screen protector just wondering if there was something better or if they are all created equally
I have an extremeguard.com shield on mine, not terribly happy with it, I've had zagg shields and bse shields and they where pretty similar. So I would probably recommend one of those over the extreme guard.

Its like $20 and if you get it at a mall kiosk they'll apply it for you. It also has an unlimited lifetime warranty. So if the protector gets scratched, if it peels up/comes off you can take it back and they will give you another protector and only charge couple dollars to apply the new one.
Can't beat it.

I just got a cheap $1 3 pack from amazon, I figured I could use them while I looked around for some better ones. Turned out they were better than I thought. I can't even tell I have a screen protector, and I have 2 spares although a lot of people said that they sucked because they would leave bubbles, but if you've ever applied screen protectors you know that the bubbles are human errors and not the products fault. And for the price why not try them out. But whatever you do DO NOT get that crap wright protect from sprint, those just suck. In case anyone was wondering yes they were cut out, even came with a little card and cloth.
I work in a sprint store, and I ended up ordering the $1.49 anti-glare protectors on ebay.
For one; they are way cheaper than even my employee discount on the Write Right brand 3 pack, and two; they cover the entire front bezel.
They are awesome, go on smooth, and I like that the matte finish makes it smoother to use the screen than the naked gorilla glass. (I'm not worried about scratches as much as the feel of using the screen - big reason I hate the Invisible Shield protectors.)
I still actually like the ones we sell in the store, and I've put on a lot of protectors for customers, and these almost always go on really well with no bubbles, and no need for a squeegee (meaning no need for the top plastic cover.) Some people really like the privacy anti-glare protector that comes in it, but not really a good idea if you want to use it for GPS (unless you have the phone pointed directly at you.)
The write right brand aren't a bad purchase, but to be honest, you could go with the ones in the link above, and get a better product for cheap from a great US seller.
zagg's are probably some of the worst and most overpriced screen protectors. try ghost armor
You can try stealth shieldz there nice cheaper then zagg. Tho zagg is on ebay right now 5 dollars a pop for the kit. also xtream guard is a sweet protector too. All those are worth checkin out.
Sometimes the cheap ass ones work pretty good.

Hey y'all, noob here, just got my One S the other day, and just got my Diztronic case from Amazon today, love it! Those screen protectors that come with it are crap tho, and was looking into the Ghost Armor. One other question, is anyone using the full-body GA skin in addition to a regular case, such as the Diztronic or Incipio? Just curious. Thanks!

I've never had the ghost armor full body, but I did had zagg full body and it didn't peel up. Once you let it dry it sticks pretty well, just don't put a case on it for at least 24 hours maybe more to let it dry.
I'd imagine Ghost Armor would be better, their screen protector is soooo much better than Zagg's.
I actually need to get a replacement from Ghost Armor, for some reason the bottom part keeps wanting to come up.
I´am using the antireflex protector from mumbi and i´am very happy with it. Feels good and looks really pretty.
how it looks GhostArmor Clear for the back ? any pic ?
i'm surprised no one mentioned htc's own screen protector for the one s. there are a few sellers on ebay from uk selling them. i picked up a couple awhile ago for about USD$9 shipped.
Got my Ghost Armor (screen only) today, and just applied it. Took 2 tries, but I nailed it on the second attempt, got it perfectly lined up. I've been going back with the little squeegee and squishing out some of the smaller little bubbles over the last hour or so, and as long as you get the squeegee wet, it works pretty well to smooth out the little guys. So far, I like it a lot, doesn't have that rubbery-drag feel of the Zagg I had on my G2, or the orange peel. I'll report back in a day or so to update.
krusell
I got a KRUSELL screen film for my one S a couple of days ago and I'm thrilled with it. It is completely transparent and does not affect in any way the brightness and colors, and it doesn't have that squeaky feel.
I had an invisible shield on my previous Desire for about 8 months, it's good if you are a frequent phone dropper but if not it makes your screen uglier, it's like heaving sweat on it all the time and also affects the touch sensitivity.
All in all, would definetly recommend the Krusell.
Alright, so I made it about 5 days, and I think I'm ditching the screen protector. Yes, the peace of mind of the added protection is nice, but to be honest, I'm not really worried about it enough to keep this. I had my HTC G2 for almost 2 years, which didn't even have Gorilla Glass, and by the time I sold it, it had ONE hardly noticeable scratch in the top-left corner of the screen.
The Ghost Armor goes on relatively simple enough, but in 3 applications, I've found it impossible to keep at minimum 2-3 specks of dust out from under it when I go to smooth it down, which create a bubble you CANNOT get rid of, and I can feel them under my fingertips when scrolling around on the screen. For someone as anal as myself when it comes to things like this, these make my head want to explode. I'm also noticing around the edge of the film (which doesn't extend all the way to the edges of the screen, and I find this to be really lame), it's gathering dust and finger... gunk. Finally, and I might be alone in this, but I think it takes the sharpness of the display away. Not to a hugely noticeable amount, but it's there, and it bugs the hell out of me.
Any nice cases that are comparable to outerbox but with a lens protector?

Caseless and Happy
I've had my GS4 caseless since I got it just over two weeks ago, it's still in great condition. I generally don't like using a case on my phones, (I never used a case on my GS2 before this one) as I don't like the look and bulk that it adds, no screen protector either, I'm still amazed by how well Gorilla glass resists scratching, the screen on my GS2 still looks brand new, despite never having a screen protector on it.
Case less all the way, with a screen protector..prob don't neet it but I'm anal like that. Oh and changed the back to a metal one. Gives the phone a "heavier" feel.
Naked with a ArmorSuit Miltary shield screen protector and Seidio spring-clip hoster.
I am thinking of getting the metal back too. they look cool and seem to add weight to the back so the phone might be more likely to fall on the back in the event of a drop.
Im caseless and screen protector less, my phone flung off my lap when i got outta the car the othet day, cartwheeled on asphalt and only left a nick in the bottom right of bezel. No cracks thank god..
I think i may have a few light scratches, may get one of those fancy glass screen protectors everyone's been raving about

Not I. I had my Galaxy S II caseless without a screen protector and it held pretty well... That thing was pretty solid.
I was watching all the drop tests, and seeing how easy Gorilla Glass III actually cracks; even seeing on here where it cracked in peoples pants??? Seeing that this is a bigger device, somewhat harder to hold in my hands, and definitely a lot more slippery than the SII, I do not want to take a chance on the $649.99 device. I also like leaving the device laying flat down on a surface(still getting used to air gestures, but the notification air gesture is cool); but one of the first things to touch the surface while laying flat is the camera lens which bothered me. I also have AT&T insurance but after seeing this case, it made my choice...
Spigen Neo Hybrid Case (Satin Silver)
edit* funny I had a dream last night that I actually cracked my S4. In the dream, it felt so real and that feeling of the cracked screen just really brings you down (sorry guys for the ones who did), but when I woke up, I was so relieved...

I like that case!!
And your pants (no homo)
I think i wanna wait and see if mophie comes out with a juice pack for us.. If im adding bulk might as well add functionality too.. Besides protection

You guys crack me up. Spend hundreds for the phone and don't want to spend more than 7.00 on a case. Just Kidding
I prefer a leather pouch. Will get the Spigen one for 29.99. Has always done well for me and allows me to "use" phone with no case.
I am getting 2 32gb S4's tonight. My son still wants a case to use and keeps phone in pocket while at work. Does bending, stocking. Doesn't want case while using the phone, like me. But, doesn't want pouch. Is there a hard case that easily comes off then back on. Looked at many web sites and videos. Seems once they are on, they are not designed to be popping on and off--
OP: Based on my research, I would get some kinda case for the phone. I don't think this one will fair as well as my One S and Blackberries when dropped--
I roll caseless with my S4 and HTC One, both with Ghost Armor front and back.

If I get a case its going to be that exact one. It really is a nice looking case imo. does it add much bulk? doesnt look like it in the pics.
I sometimes dream about my phone too. makes me feel a bit obsessed lol.
I went caseless until I noticed the metal camera ring got all scratched up. Luckily I found a dead pixel on the display and was able to exchange it because of that.
With the premier discount on my account, I picked up the decent Case Mate clear case from the AT&T for 35% off. It works and the camera ring is still shiny with love.

Ok so my gf got the S5 and she is trying to find a good screen protector, I personally like wet application screen protectors because they are the easiest to get on and have the best adhesion. So i was wondering if there was any good one for the S5?
She wants one that is clear, scratch resistant, and smug resistant but dont cost an arm and leg (a round the 20 mark max)?
If there isn't one that is water application but still have really good adhesion (meaning it stick to the edges of the phone) then will be willing to consider that as well.
Thanks in advance!!!
I have always used phantomskinz on all my phones. Love them!

Ok, have you considered a tempered glass protector? Adhesion isnt an issue and it doesnt get any easier to apply that these. However, if you are stuck on using the wet apply, ive always had good luck with the Zagg HD.

No she's never considered tempered glass protectors before and when I explained it to her she didn't seem all that interested in it since it's kinda became the trend where we both didn't have a screen protector on our last phone and suffered minimal scratches. So don't see the need for something as extreme as an extra layer of glass. But maybe the Zagg HD might work thanks.

I typically tend to stay away from items that don't come with a few customer reviews, its always better to have the opinion of a few people that have tried that way I have a better idea about what it is i am purchasing.

Just a little more info. The tempered glass protectors do add a little more protection than the regular protectors but that's no where near the reason I recommend them. It's for the feel. It feel like you don't have a protector at all....like using the phone naked. Just my 2 cents. Since I started using them a couple years I won't use anything else.

oh ok, well I've never used them but from what i've look up on them, they seem to add a bit of thickness to the screen does it not? also there can be issues with certain cases as well?

There are typically several options available. For example spigen and mime are the two companies whose glass I've used and they both offer ultra thin versions or standard versions with rounded edges. Personally I prefer the rounded edges as the transition from the home button and such is smooth as can be. As far as case issues I've never had that problem. Especially on phones like the s5 where the bezel actually has its own little lip anyways.
I did a review on the neo hybrid somewhere in the accessories forum and I have my screen protector on in those pics but I don't recall if there is a good view or not. I will gladly take a couple photos and post them here for you on my lunch break.

Tempered glass is the way to go, adds a little bit of thickness but feels like using the phone naked, I had the zagg HD on while I waiting for my glass ones to come in. The Zagg was very good for the wet application but still has that rubbery feel all wet application suffer from. Look on ebay or amazon you can get them dirt cheap for around 5 dollars, I usually buy 4 at a time and once they get a little beat up or the anti finger print coating starts to wear off I replace them.
here's the ebay link for the ones I got

lol typos happen don't spend 25 dollars on the same thing that cost five. I got mine in 12 days shipped for free. I have tried probably every brand of tempered glass out there in the last 3 years. I bought 60 dollar ones and 5 dollar ones, the only thing to make sure of is that they have an oleophobic coating.

Typos do happen. That being said the oleophobic coating is definitely not the only thing to worry about. Fit is important and the cheaper ones don't necessarily have the exact fit but the may. Hardness is extremely important as its what determines scratch resistance. Thickness is also a big deal. The difference between .3mm and .23 mm doesn't seem like much but it can create an obvious lip and also cause case issues. Also, rounded edges are a huge deal and not all glass protectors have them. And the thicker the protector the more important rounded edges become.
