I've deleted a file from android data and was wondering if its an app or system data(not sure if those can be deleted) on my Sony Xperia U, checked most apps but all are fine, is it possible if I had deleted a system data?
And so if I did will hard reset fix it? cause now i cant find the app that I deleted.

A hard reset will fix this problem.
If you cannot detect any problems you are fine. But to be safe I would recommend a hard reset.

I just unlocked, rooted, and installed Tiamat on my friends Xoom but after signing into his Google account, none of his apps are repopulating. Any ideas on why this happened or how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

If you wipe user data/factory reset inside CWM you won't be able to install apps to the data partition. There is a bug, the partitions on the xoom are different then other devices.
Interesting, I just did the same exact steps on my Xoom last week and all of my apps repopulated just fine.

Try to do a factory data reset in recovery, or if you don't mind losing files on SD card then you can do it from Settings > Backup & reset
Its not rooted, gonna wait til it breaks and root it after repair so i dont root it with worn parts. Anyways i got a duplicate youtube app now which cant be uninstalled.

you can backup with this app https://market.android.com/details?...DEsImNvbS5yZXJ3YXJlLmFuZHJvaWQuTXlCYWNrdXAiXQ.. then copy the folder on your sd card it (should be called reware) to your pc then go into settings hit backup and then reset and after that copy folder back to sd then download app again and hit restore
OK so this is a strange problem
I have my my data downloaded and in storage options It is also showing that the app has data when I launched the game it asked me for my data
Strange!
Through file manger went to the obb folder there was nothing!
But the space is occupied!!
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Except for re-installing
Anything specific done?
I don't know. Removed the whole xposed framework and other apps which could least possibly affect this and boom! Nothing

I had this on my old Z1, and now I have a note 4 and it's on it as well... Every few days I get a pop-up on my phone with a Chinese word (screen shot will be added), and despite all my efforts with anti-virus / anti-malware apps, it persists. I found nothing on it online... Except that it may be related to something called baidu, I'm not sure. I used Google translate to try to make sense of this pop-up, all it says is " 堰" which translates into "weir". I used es file Explorer to search my entire phone for that Chinese word, and for baidu, it came up with nothing. I deleted all apps that I thought were suspicious, and still nothing. Could someone help me with this? It's driving me insane. Thank you.
I need help with this guys! Please! Need some jedi developer to help me out I shall be eternally grateful!

You can try backup your apps, and try to factory reset.

Sir, I flashed an entirely new ROM from sammobile, wiped data, and cache. The only thing left for me to do (considering I'm a noob at this stuff) is setting my phone on fire. I even changed my sim card, and SD card. Deleted everything on ext SD, and internal SD. If I was superstitious I'd say my phone is possessed.

It's not the ROM but the apps you are using...I suggest trying to unsintall them and see if the problem still persists
Can you revoke the permission from malware like android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
i have deleted some pictures by this way >just mark the pictures and choose delete then after some time i have done factory reset to the device.
Now the question is: Are these pictures are deleted with the factory reset or still there on the device and not affected by the factory reset?
No one know ???
Please i want answer
It is just deleted !
Yes it is just deleted , then i have done factory reset
Once you select and delete, the images are gone...
The factory reset however, keep the images only if they are not deleted

Can i restore them after reset ? ?
Iam using xperia z3
Nope, when you delete something the bytes are still there but marked as "free space" by the file system, once after the deletion the memory needs to write something, it will overwrite the bytes that are marked as free space and the old file is gone.
When you did the factory reset, it restored the system, after that I guess that you have downloaded some apps or restored some backup, in that moment, the old data was physically overwritten, hence, all gone.
There are some apps that try to recover files that are marked as free space waiting to be overwritten, you cold try, but it depends on how much you have used the phone and how many files you have created/saved since the deletion.

Those are all stories and in the time you spent asking all these questions you could have already tried it out.
Thanks for helping
