Hi all,
When I was using Android 1.5, I used to use the HTC Stock app and widget a lot. But since moving to 2.1 a week ago, I have not yet been able to find a replacement I tried few apps from the market but nothing feels quite right. Why isn't the HTC Stock app in the 2.1 Sense roms anyway?
So does anyone know whether I can get the HTC Stock app and widget back? Perhaps from an APK.
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a widget from the Market (free or paid) that I can have lots of shares displayed at once?
Thanks.
The stock app is included in 2.1 as long as you're running a Sense rom. If it's not there the developer probably just removed it from the rom to save space. I can't help you out with the APK but it shouldn't be too hard to find on here.
Ah I see! I'll ask the developers. Thanks.
So, have you found it? I'd like to try it too, if you have.
Unfortunately not!
I've been googling up and down and searching on here, Modaco, Vaillain, etc, but still haven't found it.
A bit off topic of the original post...but the thread title works and I didn't think a whole new thread was necessary.
So here's my question;
Is anyone else experiencing problems with the HTC Sense Stocks application in that the 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y, and 2Y graphs are not showing the correct data. Only the 1D and 5D charts work.
I'm not sure at what point this problem occurred...cause I know it use to work. Just curious whether it was something I did to my device (flashing a custom ROM), or whether others are seeing the same problem...in which case this would suggest there is something wrong with the servers from which the application downloads the charts from.
Yes, I'm seeing the same problem. I haven't done anything to my phone yet, so I doubt it's a problem with the phone...
If you tell me where the app is ill gladly upload it

Hi,
a few weeks ago, i changed from WinMo to Android. Now I am a proud owner of a galaxy...
Unfortunatly, the galaxy comes without sense. So I am missing the Stocks widget, too. The good thing on that app is that it uses yahoo! finance as data source. Yahoo! finance offers more markets than Google Finance does. Yahoo Finance has an app for Android. But if I am looking for it in the market, it's not available. But it's available on appbrain...
Here is the link: http://www.appbrain.com/app/yahoo-finance/com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.finance
And this is the link for Yahoo! Finance for Android: http://mobile.yahoo.com/finance/android
I would be glad, if someone get's this to work and could upload the *.apk

P.S.
Excuse my poor English
I also could not find Yahoo Finance in the market.
I managed to install Yahoo Fianance from the following link:
http://www.getjar.com/mobile/36281/yahoo!-finance-for-htc-hero/
However, when I opened the app, it just open up the browser linking to mobile yahoo finance site.
Not too sure how to get it working properly as an app.
hi.
get "market enabler", fake a provider in the u.s. and you'll find yahoo finance in the market.
as an alternative i can recommend "stock watcher". has a great ui and offers some widgets.
have fun!

Hi guys, I'm hoping one of you can help me before I go mad. I am new to Android (I'm running the HTC Desire Android build on my HTC HD2) and I remember selecting an option (can't remember if it was in an application or the phone settings) that said Remove Application from Marketplace when unistalled (or words to that effect). Anyway, I buggered if I can find it again because I want to leave these apps in MyApps list. Can someone tell me where I can get to this setting
Many thanks in advance for any help guys
So, I flashed my Sensation XE to the ARHD ROM, in which I totally did not do any backup. I lost my contacts and all, but I have backup on another phone.
I remember that when I first load up Sensation XE with stock ROM (S-ON, no rooting and all), at the setup configuration, there's this option to transfer contacts from an old phone via bluetooth. I believe the ARHD did not do the same when it first load up. I've looked around the settings, contacts, people and just couldn't find it. I would really appreciate your help guys.
and, I did use the search function, and even the results after typing out the title, yet couldn't find my answer. Please help. Thank you!
Download Google sync to your old phone.
Umm, but my old phone is a Blackberry Bold 2.
Edit: Okay it does works for Blackberry and every other mobile! Thank you so much!
I wanna preface this by saying while I'm sure I'm not the first one to have had this problem, I've searched Google as well as XDA and I can't seem to find anyone.
tel: links, as well as any other links that want to open an application, such as signing in to catch.com to open AK Notepad, won't open. They instead open the "Webpage not available" page.
I'm using an HTC Sensation 4g. I've tried a couple different browsers, and a couple different ROMs. I've also tried accessing the links over wifi and over the mobile network. At the moment I'm using the stock browser on Android 4.0.3 with Sense 3.6. If you need any more information about the phone let me know.
And thanks in advance for any help.
I know this isn't much help, but I am having the same issue, using the same phone as you.
Currently I'm running Android Revolution HD 6.6.7. I have used several previous versions of this ROM, however, and only recently am I having this issue.
Well at least I know I'm not the only one. hopefully we can figure it out.
Hi there, I noticed this app in my downloaded apps section in the system settings. Don't recall downloading it specifically and searched on google and here didnt turn anything up. Can anyone confirm if this is a legit app? Is it the HTC sync that is installed when installing drivers/adb (as part of the rooting process etc)? If thats it then fine, but wanted to check it out as it has access to a lot of information. The app is 1.21Mb in size.
Im rooted and s-off'd and running virtuous inquisition rom. Grateful if someone could provide clarification.

Did anyone ever get back to you on this? I had to re-root my htc evo 4g and the rom I used has htc sync 900. It won't sync and my laptop htc sync program produces unknown error 1000.
Any clues?
Thanks,
Eric

I have been having the same problem, im on a un-rooted htc sensation. I uninstalled the htc sync version 900 from the phone and then tried syncing with the computer. It worked first time once that was gone. Hope that helps
