I'm currently using 6.0.1.0 and can see both internal and external sd in recovery. I assume this would be the same.

is this the build dhacker29 posted? On the rombot he has had a 6.0.1.1 recovery for the GS3 for awhile, thing works great.

Wasnt this version supposed to have a feature to create your own Rom zip? Couldve sworn I read about this feature being implemented.

Why are the dates still messed up my backups are showing that today is 1970. I have flashed the latest version of cwm 6.0.1.2 and the dates are still messed up. Wtf this is nuts

Yeah the date issue has always been a bummer for me when I forget to rename my backups with a file manager. Good luck figurung out what is what LOL

Please note that now that the official version has been released I have updated the OP entirely. For now only touch version (non-touch doesn't want to download for some reason).

Its nuts seriously even when I try and rename my Recovery it get all ****ed up and in don't know which is which because it in 1970.2...format and so I end up renaming the wrong one.
I think the bigger issue is that when you restore from a backup your file system once restored is showing a created date or modified date of the same 1970 date. So basically everything that is restored has a timestamp of 1970(not sure about data). I wonder if that has implications that we are unaware of??
I would have thought this would have been figured out by now. This is a first for me so I wonder if it is just with the sgs3 because the 10 other Android devices have never had this bug.

Koush mentions the issue may lie with the way the kernel processes dates on a low level...aka it's up to the device. Try this for a fix (not yet confirmed if working with CWM6 backups but worth a try - [How To] Fix md5 mismatch nandroid restore)

So if I'm already rooted and have the Synergy Rom with CWM 6.0.1.0 and have my bootloader unlocked, can I still flash this and still use the same ROM? or will I need a new ROM

Infuse Version 2 BETA 2 and BETA 3 roms - Clockworkmod Kernel Setup
(Fixes Video Problems in Beta 2 & Beta 3 and ClockworkMod Recovery too)
#1: Download "sgs kernel flasher" (free) from market
#2: Download "CWM-community-kernel-v8.zip" from here: http://www.multiupload.com/1E3AWIQYAA
#3: Copy "CWM-community-kernel-v8.zip" into /mnt/sdcard
/sgs-kernel-flasher folder
#4: Open sgs kernel flasher and select "backup kernel" you will
see the dated filename of the saved file on bottom of screen
Now you have 2 kernels to choose from, the "CWM-community-kernel-v8.zip" and the kernel you backed up using sgs kernel flasher.
For normal operation of Infuse v2 beta 2 or beta 3 your sgs backed up kernel is what you want to select and use.
If you want to do anything like backup or restore in clockworkmod recovery simply open sgs kernel flasher and click "choose kernel".
Then click "CWM-community-kernel-v8.zip" after this step, press the power button and select "recovery".
The phone will reboot into red clockworkmod recovery menu without any rainbows so you can use all functions and features of clockworkmod recovery.
When you are done using clockworkmod recovery restart phone, open sgs kernel flasher and click "choose kernel" now click the kernel you have backed up.
Reboot the phone again and you will be in normal Infuse v2 beta 2 or beta 3 "rainbow mode" and you are back where you started from.
NOTICE: If you are stuck on a rainbow screen after trying to go into clockworkmod recovery you will need to download the "odin no rainbow" kernel and put the phone in download mode and flash the odin kernel.
Here is the link for the Odin flash no rainbow kernel you need.
http://www.multiupload.com/751NVU5V55
After flashing with Odin restart the phone then follow all the instructions above starting at #1
Have a great day,
Enjoy!

yes I know we can use odin but odin requires a computer with windows and samsung usb drivers..
A lot of people do some of these things when they do not have a computer handy, or they are not home and do not want to install usb drivers in other peoples computers or some people simply don't want to mess with the computer if they can do some of these things without one.
There has been much talk about this ever since Infuse v2 beta 1 and 2 came out and there were a lot of misunderstandings about the process.
Anyway, have a great day, Enjoy!
I find that the CWM kernel has less rainbows with daily use anyway. And video playback is borked with both anyway, so I just stick with the CWM kernel.
Will this work with the kernel being packaged with odin like it is???

if your video playback is broke with both kernels then you have done something wrong for sure during flashing of Infuse v2 beta 1 or 2.
The only way to fix it is to go back to froyo rom be sure its rooted and has 3e recovery then go into recovery mode using power button selecting recovery then flash the infuse v2 beta 2 rom with the RED cwm recovery menu.
After its done flashing select "advanced" in cwm recovery menu and select "wipe-factory reset" when thats done simply click on "reboot" and you will see rainbows, wait until the phone completely boots and ready to use.
Then reboot the phone again and leave it alone for 15 minutes more or less and after that it will only have rainbows during boot/reboot and the video playback/preview screen/gallery and everything else in the phone will NOT have rainbows at all.
Hope this helps! if so give me a BIG THANKS!

Nope, this method will not work with the odin kernels cause odin kernels are TAR files and cwm kernels are ZIP files............

Yeah if you flash the CWM kernel it fixes rainbows but breaks video and cam viewfinder. Flash other kernel and rainbows, but working video and cam viewfinder.
but netflix streams fine.what if reinstall camera apk and youtube apk. will that fix it

They usually are about 7mb but this must have something special in it to make it that large.

And sometimes the backups get deleted when you want free space and decide you don't need the backup anymore... I always delete my backups when I know I no longer need them.

Thank you codeworkx for original development and getting the ball rolling!
These are unofficial builds compiled from source with the desire to stay as current as possible. The official builds are several builds behind, and might not be the most compatible with current CM10.1 releases.
Built from source, not responsible for any issues this may cause if you do it wrong, YMMV
Instructions:
For the *.tar files, reboot into download mode. (Power off, boot up pressing and holding volume-up + power)

E: failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)
Thank you for this guide and the links you provide!
I copied the .zip file to the SD card and I can access it via File Manager.
However, when I reboot to recovery mode (Android system recovery 3e) and try to install the zip-file, I get this error:
E: failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)
I can't access the SD card from revorery mode... Any ideas?
You can't install this with stock recovery.

Thanks for your reply... So what is the right way to install CWM recovery on stock recovery? Do you recommend to flash as PDA via ODIN? The problem is that my stock recovery is unable to access my SD card so I can't install any update as zip-file via the current recovery...

Thanks! Worked like a charm! :good:
THANK YOU
You are a life saver
check out my thread here
couldn't find a tar img for gt-p5110 even on cwm site (they had a zip file not a tar)
thank you so much! I pressed thanks!
mount external sd card
Does any of these allow mounting of an external sd card so we can backup to it and install zips etc.. The most current CWM still does not mount my external sd card on my p5113 it always says cant find the mount when i choose the external sd. I've tried two different versions now and am running the latest cwm with same results. it be nice to leverage the external card like i do on my phone to store nandroid backups and roms.
Thanks.
It does for me, but I always use TWRP personally... I test that the external SD mounts in CWM long enough to install TRWP back off of it! Lol

I've tried flashing the .tar via odin but it doesn't seem to work, odin says the flashing has suceed but when I try to boot in recovery (vol down+power) I just get stock recovery, I tried it with 4 other recoveries and every time the same thing occurs. My galaxy tab gt-p5110 is running stock 4.1.2 which I updated it to a few days ago.

I had the same thing over here. I used 6.0.1.2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34490421 this post (link to the recovery file: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B02Uc9IrgGXQZjAxRUhtMW96NUk/edit?pli=1#) and installed that. That worked fine. Then I just updated through recovery to 6.0.3.3. Remember to use the zip file from recovery, and the tar file from Odin.
I'm back! I'm currently setting up a build environment for CM10.2 and then I'll build the most recent recoveries for our tab.
I had started building the 6.0.3.5 and then suddenly the 6.0.3.6 commit was pushed so I scrapped that! Figure using the CM10.2 sources rather than CM10.1 will make sure everything is fresh...
6.0.3.6 normal zips are up. Tested it with my GT-P5113. Micro SD, adb, all working. Touch builds will come later.
Hey look! 6.0.3.6 Touch!
Whoops. Must be a problem with the build servers. Touch is closed source so I can't build it myself. I'll take down the links until further notice.

Well that sucks. I tried using the build server for touch again and it threw up a bunch of errors after rebooting to recovery...

[CWM]ClockworkMod Recovery V6.0.3.5 For GT-S7500

Hi guys,
I managed to port latest CWM v6.0.3.3 & v6.0.3.5 for our device. :victory:
It took me some time to find out how to fix boot loop issues which occurs when we use online CWM Builder. (Thanks to mb-14)
The only new feature I noticed, was "INSTALL ZIP FROM SIDELOAD" which allows us to install ZIPs using ADB commands.
There's no bootloop issues or such, still you should TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I also changed the background colour to black for CWM 5 clean look's lovers.
I don't recommend touch version because the font it's too big and I can't change. better use the regular one.
Touch means Touch support.
BlackBG/Dark means Black Background.
No root users, download *.tar.md5 file only.
Root users, download any file *.zip or *.tar.md5
Hope you like it.
And ignore that error "Warning: no file_context found ...."
GT-S7500L / GT-S7500T users, don't flash it.
I might be able to help you porting it to your variants.

Your phone will reboot, to boot into recovery mode. (hold the following buttons at the same time and in the following order:

How to flash it through a custom recovery? (needs root)

Choose INSTALL ZIP FROM SD-CARD
Choose any *.zip downloaded attachment.
How to flash it using terminal emulator? (needs root)
Extract recovery.img file to any folder (let's say /sdcard)
Open terminal emulator
Input this code:
Code:

No, I flashed both of them using TWRP without any problems 3 hours ago.
Do you get an error message? And what does it say?

It said that it failed, tried with sig verifacation and without. only the one with the black backround i tried... In the end i did it from terminal.
Just from curiosity it's possible to make it look like s3?
CWM touch is proprietary

Yes, it's possible, but touch function won't work unless you have ICS or JB kernel. I will give it a try.

no, read my above post. And if I may ask, what makes a kernel "ICS or JB kernel"?
thanks for new recovery
flashing right now!!!
---------- Post added at 10:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 PM ----------
flashed it
home button is working as scrolling as we scroll with volume keys and menu key in working as scroll down action
i think home button should be used to enter in particular option
i have to use power button to enter or exit

Check this: http://builder.clockworkmod.com
It's written there that touch recovery will only work on ICS and later kernels.
I already tried to port touch recovery but it looked so much ugly on ace plus, it was like changing LCD density from 160 to 240 !
As I'm not a developer I couldn't fix it, but it works anyway.

it's closed source, so we can't fix it for our screens :/
Thread updated with drop box link contains 8 attachments:
4 *.zip and 4 *.tar.md5 (specially for no root users)
Touch version uploaded. (I don't recommend it because the font is too big and I can't change it)
Screenshots uploaded now.
Thanks so much !

Bassel Bakr thanks so much , I was looking for a CWM 6.0.3.5 Recovery , because TheWhisp told in his thread (on mini 2 CWM 6.0.3.5 recovery) that this recovery is able to backup Faster compared to other CWM Recoveries . Thanks so much  .Enjoying it really much :good:
Firstly installed that touch recovery BlackBG , but it looked weird , then I installed the CWM 6.3.3 without touch , through Terminal Emulator .
installed fine but when try to install cm10.1 it gives error!!!

I thought that if I uploaded touch version, someone could make it works as it should be. (still waiting)
By the way, did you try to flash any of the ZIPs and got an error that made use terminal method?

This error is because of the updater-script not the recovery itself, other recoveries ignore asserts checks (I guess).
can you post some images of touch version? If it's really resolution problem maybe we can contact Koush about it.
