I just saw amazon cut the price of "SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC Class 10". Anyone here tried on Tf700T? If so how is the class 10 speed compare to class 6? Btw, I see there is ultra mobile and ultra version, what's the difference?

well, that has slightly different packaging to mine, mine had the android logo on, but im pretty sure thats because it was packaged with some androidy software on it (cant say, since i formatted it instantly) but i can say with certainty, that if it is the same card, it works. im using it right now :good:
That same 64GB class 10 card would not work for me no matter what I tried. Mine had the Android specific packaging as well.
I've seen many posts here and at other forums that a class 6 64Gb card should work. I returned my UHS-1 class 10 and have ordered a class 6 which should be here by the end of next week.

just try formatting it. cant remember what i set mine to, exfat i think, but i'll check when i can put it back in my pc
did that, NTFS, FAT32, EXFAT, quick and low level.
video files wouldn't play, not even from an SD adapter in the dock, and folders would appear empty when they weren't. It also would not let me copy files to it when in the tablet.

this is the one i have. they appear to be the same, same model number, but the ASIN is different. Not sure if they makes a difference. and there is a little difference in price as well.

I have it formatted to fat32 and it works perfect. Formatted at ntfs and exfat, it gave me problems.

I have a kingston 32gb hcsd and i have formated the card to exfat, i tried loading a movie about 6.5gb and my tab would just reset itself and or the file simply fails. What can i do?
It sounds like a problem with the movie's file format. Does the card work okay for everything else?
You might try a different video player or a different encoding for the movie.

If you 'loading a movie' you mean 'copying a movie to the card', there are confirmed problems with MicroSD cards in the tablet that will result in spontaneous reboots of the device when copying large (amount of) files to the MicroSD card.
If you have the docking station (keyboard) you can try to connect the card to either the USB port of the full-size SD slot using an adapter and copy to the card that way. I have had better success with using the SD slot than with the MicroSD slot.

Ok i'll try this method in a few days when my keyboard arrives. But yea it's weird because some movies will work and some fail immediately and they are all the same file formats usually .mkv

Ya it depends on the movie and it only happens to movies some work and some fail right away when trying to copy them from pc to the sd card. \
I am just downloading mkv files usually and there is all sorts of encodings so i have no idea how to do that myself, i just download em

I think thats what my card was already formatted with, this will have the 4gb file limits which is no good

I didn't even try going beyond 32GB SDHC, but someone mentioned formatting your card from within the tablet might help. If it does't *recognise* the card itself however, it might be a bit of a problem.
Thanks for your answer, but it doesn't even let me format it - it is simply not recognized. By the way, also a second SDXC didn't work - no probs with a 32 Gb SDHC though...
I believe the Prime had a limit of 32 GB SDHC cards as well. You might be out of luck, crazy as it is that these larger-capacity cards are not recognized.

You have to change the format of the sd card. I don't know how though.

All reports I've seen to date suggest that exFAT renders the best compatibility.
Tried it this time with exFAT and then with NTFS - unfortunately no luck...
Wow. I got my 64gb card on order (not in stock yet), but can still cancel. Would be nice to have it confirmed that it will work or not.

oh man, not another issue.
The Prime at least shipped with the limit of 32 GB declared in advance. I seem to have missed it with the TF700, I guess. Early today I gave it a shot and formatted my 32 GB SD card (200x, Dane-Elec) in exFAT with several cluster sizes, and the TF700 is one hell of a finicky device. It doesn't really accept the cluster sizes above 4 kb, it seems -- either that or my card has a defect (was brand-new). Will have to test a bit...
Hi, have the same issue with San disk 64 GB Micro- SDXC.
Tried FAT32, EXFAT and NTFS.
Most of the time tablet does not recognize it. Dock with SD size adapter is no problem.
Tried also to format it in ICS 4.0.3 HTC EVO 3D.
Card works in HTC fine but can not be recognized in TF700T tablet.
Sometime tablet recognized SDHXC card and showed 60GB of empty space, but when turned of and switched on again does not recognize any more.
Don't know what to.
Format it on windows 7 with card reader, or in windows7 laptop with adapter or use any format tool in Windows7.
User TalynOne posted in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423587 that Sandisk 64 GB works formated in NTFS on Transformer Prime tablet.
So there should be a way for TF700T or am I wrong.
Did anyone have positve results so far?

how did you gather whining? I ordered this tablet already. If i was whining, i would have said much more. And what does your current post do to help this thread? This is a forum for people to express their opinions, you don't like it, ignore me and move on. Stop getting so emotional from reading letters on a screen. I purchased this tab (although its on back ordered), so what would be the point of me whining about it, when i can just easily cancel and move on to another device. There is no attitude from me. I have never expressed attitude on any forum i am a member of.
And to respond to your statement, no tablet was advertised a being compatible with 64gb cards, yet, we have several that are compatible, so IMO, i believe it is relevant.
I heard of people getting the 64GB cards working and as long as their a max of UHS-1 they should work. Try using a fat32 formatter such as fat32format by ridgecorp. I am still waiting for my Prime preorder so I can't check for sure, but that worked for me for other devices that didn't see the 64GB SDXC cards that I have.

did you try formatting the card in your phone?
Well there are already users which has used a 64gb micro SD with NTFS format. So I guess that can confirm that it is definitely okay.
On my galaxy y, it's possible to use SWAP (virtual RAM) with the micro SD to add some RAM to the device.

Why fat32? Having a card that size seems useless unless you can put high def movies on it. Why can't you use ntfs?
I'm not sure if you can use any other formats that's just what people have had success with.

So since you've been able to use a 64gb NTFS micro SD, I guess it works
If there any speed difference with Fat32 and NTFS? In regard of transferring files since app data cannot be mounted onto external SDs anymore.

There is no speed difference, you need to get a lower class number card for that. Fat32 sucks because it has a 4 gig file size limit. For me, since I use my tablet for a lot of media on the go, I can't put any movies on a Fat 32 card.

ntfs has journaling and more detailed file atributes, this is usefull and make it stronger but also make for a bit of overhead.
shouldnt be noticeable.
Right now i have a class 10 micro sd card 32 gb. I used Swapit Expander and gave my phone 2gb of virtual memory and 90 swapiness. I dont really notice it, i got better quadrant scores but nothing worth noticing. Right now im getting 4837 on quadrant

I think NTFS record filenames in alpha sequence when they are added so when you use any app, the default sequence is filename.
FAT/FAT32 records filenames as first in first out (not in alpha order of filename).
Sometimes, I have to use FATSorter to sort them. We need filename order like TV shows (24h or Spooks MI-5) so video player can play one after the other.
For data transferring purpose, I took 64GB micro SDXC out from Note2 to Note 8.0.
Lo and behold, it works right away.
Sandisk Ultra 64GB in FAT64 FS.
I'm wondering if there are any alternate formats for these cards seeing as CWM - and I guess ultimately TWRP as well can't read exFat i think i need to do some googling...

You can use FAT32 FS instead of 64 with EaseUS, but the maximum single file size is limited to 2GB with 32.

That's odd. I have TWRP installed on my Note 2, and had no problems installing ARHD from a 64GB microxd formatted in exFAT. The file showed up instantly.

The maximum single file size allowed under fat32 is actually 4GB minus 1 byte, not 2GB.
im running a T-Mobile GN2 and i have a 32gb mic in it but i keep running out so someone walked in my store today and sold me 2 in the pack 64gb micro sdxc. 1 Kingston and 1 Lexar so my Question is will i have any Read/Write issues and or any Camera Issues ??? also when i use the Burst Mode or Record Video will i See a Noticeable Performance Difference thanks to all and Please Advise

I had no issues with exFAT on stock Kernal, but could no longer read it once I had flashed Civs one as it doesnt support it. Copied my files to my PC, re formatted the card to fat32. Put all the files back on the card and have had no issues since.
And to agree with what someone else posted. The file limit on Fat32 is a shade under 4GB not 2GB, which is fine for me as I have no need for files larger than 4GB.

No 2 cards are the same so your results may vary from others, but in general the read and write speeds you can expect are defined by what class the sd card is. If you were sold only a class 2 or class 4 card, you may have issues when trying to write to the card in burst mode. In general class 6 or above is what you should be aiming for, but the higher (faster) the better.

Thanks for your help and just to let you know there both class 10 micro sdxc 1 is Lexar The other is Kingston so my next quetion is being that the Lexar seem to be the more exspensive one but I've always been a Samsung Kingston guy in your opinion what's Technically the better Performing Card as like All us technology junkies i am always chasing the best

I'm using a Sandisk Ultra UHS-1 64GB card in my Relay 4G without any problems. Just yesterday had it down to about 8 GB space available, confirming it works past the 32GB barrier. I did have to do an update for Windows XP on my dad's laptop before I transferred files to my external HDD a few days ago, but otherwise had no problems there. (It wasn't till yesterday I deleted some files on the phone that had been copied to the drive - I wanted to keep some vids on the phone for a while and was handpicking them.)
Now if only I could interface directly with my 2TB hard drive (I have it in an enclosure with its own power source), without needing the laptop.

So the trick is to format the SDCARD in FAT32 instead of NTFS. And the drawback is you can't have a file (music, movie, whatever) that's over 4GB. Okay. Can't think of what one file would be that much, so that seems like a decent compromise.
So I guess my only question is: if you're taking a file, as in drag in drop, from your NTFS hard drive on you computer and placing it on your FAT32 SDCard on your phone, will there be any problems? As well as any problems doing it in reverse?

There should be no problems in either direction, especially if you're doing it over MTP/PTP to your phone.
Another option is to format the card as ext4, which Linux and Android support natively, it's stable, and supports files up to arbitrary size (There is a limit, but it's quite a bit more than the supported maximum card size of the Relay)

I didn't think of this till you responded, but my USB 4GB flash drive is FAT32 and I transfer files from the 60GB hard drive on my laptop, which is NTFS, all the time. I typically do drag and drop, or I transfer via bluetooth.
Another option is to format the card as ext4, which Linux and Android support natively, it's stable, and supports files up to arbitrary size (There is a limit, but it's quite a bit more than the supported maximum card size of the Relay)

I've never heard of ext4, but I'll research it. In any case, from the looks of it, the Relay 4G can use 64GB micro sd cards! :good: :highfive:
I think it will depend on your hardware. Mine does not support 64 gig cards in any format on any rom... *sniff*
Hmm... I put in a generic 64 GB card from Amazon.co.uk and it worked out-of-the-box

I got a 64gb on eBay that works for me...I can give you a link...works perfect while in ROM however has issues with flashing anything..so I use my 16gb card for that

it works without any problems, just put it, if is in other format the phone will ask you to format to a compatible 1
Hi i am going on a vacation this weekend and i want some couple of movies onto my sd card, but i cant quiet get it to work. i have cyanogenmod installed, and a sandisk class 10 card. and i have transfered a movie onto the card but it wont play, in any player, if i transfer it onto the internal memory it works just fine. i have tried with several different filetypes and movies. and if i transfer music. when i play the music it skips ( it fastforwads, like in the oldcasettes) th e music and movies work fine on internal memory. i have tried to transfer the movies through windows media player sync options, and just copied the movie onto the sd card when the tablet was connected. and i have also taken the sd cartd into and card reader where i then copied the movie over. will uninstalling the cyanogen mod work, or what?
i wouldreally appreciate some help before the weekend....

Bro try mxplayer and in it click refresh option all videos on your device will be displayed and then try to play them...
I don't think its CyanogenMod problem but still u can try flashing stock!!!!!!

Hi, yeah i was using stable.
but i went back to stock rom! and stil doesnt work.. and im going on a vacation tomorow
i have tried with another sd card. and it worked good. but that card is only 2 gb
i cant format the card with sd formater it says that its write protected... weird. cant format it through windows either-
so i think theres something wrong with the card. if som1 could help me oout!

Simply slide down the lock pin in sd card adapter/reader
And you are done.then format

If the card is bad then it is bad. What else is there to say? Micro sd cards are only a $1 per GB. I'm sure you can find one on sale today at your local BestBuy, Walmart, or Radio Shack.
Indeed, if your card is bad there's nothing you can do. Doesn't have anything to do with your ROM or Tablet itself.
It may not be a bad card.Some devices see certain brand class 10 cards as class 1 and this causes problems. This was a big issue with some cannon cameras and camcorders about 3 years ago.
Also, only buy sd cards from trusted sources online. Many, many counterfeit cards sold online. Have even heard of people getting counterfeit cards on trusted sites like amazon. I only buy mine from b&h, newegg or locally from bestbuy.

As a mather of fact, I just read that the SanDisk CLass 10 cards have a common issue and that SanDisk even apologized for this issue already.
Exactly. C10 cards can indeed be problematic. I've been using c6 cards for the past 3 years becuase of these problems. I have no need for c10 cards. IMO c10's are really only good for things like cameras tha record at extremely high bitrates. For average use like in a phone or tablet, not really any reason to use a c10. But some people insist on getting every little bit of speed they can.

from my experience, 2GB sdcard usually is class 2 or class 4 sdcard. So it's much slower
